00:00I am Amanda Valentine, and I was on Project Runway season 11 and 13.
00:23It's a little surreal and very, very humbling that I am actually an all-star.
00:28Like, I made it.
00:31My name is Shara Glover.
00:32To be an all-star feels really, really good, because everyone's not chosen to be an all-star.
00:36Hey, girl.
00:37Shara's my girl from season 13.
00:39I'm immediately happy to see her.
00:41Kimberly!
00:42What's up, ladies?
00:44My name is Kimberly Golson.
00:45I am a finalist from season 9.
00:48I did not win my season, so I'm here to redeem that.
00:50Hey!
00:52My name's Stanley Hudson.
00:53I was on season 11.
00:54I placed third.
00:55In my opinion, I think that I should have won.
00:58Oh!
00:59There we go.
01:00My name is Candace Marie Cuoco, season 14, Project Runway finalist.
01:04Here's my season right now.
01:06There it is.
01:07I'm Edmund Newton.
01:08I'm back because I've come so close to winning.
01:11It was right in front of me.
01:12I could, like, reach out and touch it.
01:14Get out!
01:15My name is Melene Labissier.
01:17My biggest competition is Kimberly.
01:19I love her aesthetics.
01:20I love her style.
01:21Get out!
01:22Get out!
01:23My name's Kelly Dempsey.
01:24Season 14 of Project Runway.
01:26I was the runner-up.
01:27Project Runway 100% times a billion thousand changed my life.
01:31I am no longer at the deli.
01:33I now am working for my brand, Rack Attic.
01:36Hi, designers!
01:37Hi!
01:38Hi!
01:39Hi!
01:40I'm a huge fan of Alyssa Milano.
01:42I've loved her my whole entire life.
01:45I'm Alyssa Milano and I am so excited to be your host for this very special season of Project Runway All-Stars.
01:52We are inside the MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Jets and New York Giants, to launch our biggest season ever.
02:00But how is that possible, right? There's only eight of you.
02:03Yeah.
02:04Where's the other half?
02:05I think some designers might be a little late to the game.
02:13Oh, okay.
02:14Oh!
02:15Oh!
02:16Oh!
02:17Oh!
02:18Oh!
02:19Whoa!
02:20What?
02:21Frickin' holy hell.
02:22There's eight All-Stars veterans coming out.
02:25They've been on Project Runway.
02:26They've been on Project Runway All-Stars.
02:29Like, no!
02:30I think my biggest competition is Ken.
02:33He was so close to winning, so he's, like, ready to go.
02:36Oh, my gosh.
02:38I think Ari is everyone's biggest competition.
02:41Nobody else can bang out work like that.
02:44We know this game.
02:45We're veterans.
02:46We're not going to play cute.
02:47I was always like, I need to, like, make friends and be sure that I don't make enemies.
02:50That's something that I don't want to do this time.
02:53All-Stars is a league op, baby.
02:55So welcome.
02:58Together, you guys represent some of the most talented designers that have ever appeared on both shows.
03:04You all got close, but no one was crowned a champion.
03:08Yet.
03:09Your mentor this season is the editor-in-chief of Marie Claire Magazine, Anne Hillenwider.
03:16On my finale, she read me for filth.
03:18There's a little schizophrenia going on in the first two looks to me.
03:21The top to me looks like it came out of a mall in New Jersey.
03:24I just hope she's a little nicer.
03:26And to critique your work, I'll be joined by Isaac Mizrahi and Marquesa's Georgina Chapman,
03:31as well as some of the biggest names in fashion and entertainment.
03:35Project Runway All-Stars is the Super Bowl of fashion.
03:38So for this first challenge, it's rookies versus vets.
03:43Uh-uh.
03:44You'll be happy to know that after this week, no more teams.
03:48Each team will create a fierce collection for either spring or fall.
03:53The winning design will come from the winning collection,
03:55and the eliminated designer will come from the losing collection.
03:58And that all happens tomorrow.
04:03We work fast around here.
04:05Oh, yeah.
04:06Your fabric budget at Mood is $1,000 per team.
04:10But there is an extra $500 and a choice of spring or fall up for grabs.
04:18To get it, you need to beat the other team in a quick-stitch relay race.
04:24Bring it.
04:25I gotta stretch.
04:26I have on these tight-ass jeans that are taking my blood pressure.
04:29And now y'all want me to run.
04:31Your quick-stitch relay race starts right...
04:36Now!
04:42We're basically taking a garment from concept into creation.
04:46Eight stations, each one of us have a job.
04:49One, Ellen!
04:50Oh, that's five.
04:51I think.
04:52We're Casanova!
04:53Yeah, got him.
04:54My job is to cut the pattern out, which Ari has traced, and then hand it off to Melissa.
05:10Then she's going to pin it on the dress form.
05:12Oh, my God!
05:13This is terrible!
05:14Get ready, Stanley!
05:15Woo!
05:16Yes, yes, yes!
05:17We're headed.
05:18Like, we can do it.
05:19Go, Stanley!
05:20Go, Stanley!
05:21Stanley!
05:22I don't know how I get the hand sewing.
05:25I am the slowest person ever at hand sewing.
05:40I have to dress the model, belt her, put her shoes on, and put her makeup on, and then
05:46I have to escort her over to the finish line.
05:48Oh, my God.
05:49The rookies are already running towards the end zone.
05:52Belt!
05:53Belt!
05:54Belt!
05:55Belt!
05:56Belt!
05:57Belt!
05:58Belt!
05:59Belt!
06:00Belt!
06:01Belt!
06:02Belt!
06:03Belt!
06:04Belt!
06:05Belt!
06:06Belt!
06:07Belt!
06:08Belt!
06:09Belt!
06:10Belt!
06:11Belt!
06:12Belt!
06:13Belt!
06:14Belt!
06:15Belt!
06:16Belt!
06:17Belt!
06:18Belt!
06:19Belt!
06:20Belt!
06:21Belt!
06:22get thawed.
06:24Okay, so that means the veterans are doing spring.
06:27Spring time!
06:28I will see you on the runway.
06:30Thank you, have fun.
06:32Some place exotic, expensive.
06:35She's going to Art Basel.
06:36Oh, I love that.
06:37The woman that goes to the Art Basel is a visionary.
06:40So I want to create an ultimate power suit.
06:43What do you have in mind, Casanova?
06:45I'm going to design a leather body
06:48with some cutouts in the back
06:50and kind of flowy pant.
06:53You're the modern day take on 70s fashion.
06:56Yeah.
06:56I wanted my dress to be a sexy take
06:59on a 70s party dress.
07:01So I wanted to really accentuate her shape
07:03and make it kind of curvy, but also short.
07:06I really want to do a dress with long sleeve
07:08and so I'm interpreting the modern theme a little different.
07:11Let's head to move.
07:12Woo hoo!
07:15All right, y'all, 30 minutes to shop.
07:18Yeah.
07:20This one, yeah, let's get it.
07:20It's a keeper.
07:21Yeah.
07:22That might be perfect.
07:23I envision my garment to be a beautiful, sexy silhouette.
07:27I see a plunging neckline.
07:29I see a very dramatic shoulder
07:31and I see a very dramatic bottom.
07:33So you can actually just use those for your pants?
07:34Yes.
07:35Totally.
07:36I'm designing a look that gives the illusion
07:39of it being two pieces.
07:40I want to do something drapey and elegant.
07:43Two minutes to get to the counter.
07:45Woo hoo!
07:46I see a lot of my team members with stuff in their baskets
07:48that we did not discuss.
07:49But to be nice, I'm just going to say some tacky
07:52in these baskets.
07:53Thank you!
07:54Oh, wow.
07:55Oh, my gosh.
07:56Oh, my gosh.
07:56This is amazing.
07:57This is official.
07:58We have the intermix accessory wall.
07:59We have the workstation.
08:00I'm ready to work.
08:01Okay, so this is our room.
08:03This is team.
08:04I love the brother's room.
08:05I love the brother's room.
08:06I love the brother's room.
08:07But to be nice, I'm just going to say some tacky
08:08in these baskets.
08:09Thank you!
08:10Oh, wow.
08:11Oh, my gosh.
08:12Oh, my gosh.
08:13This is amazing.
08:14This is official.
08:15We have the intermix accessory wall.
08:17We have the workstation.
08:19I'm ready to work.
08:20Okay, so this is our room.
08:25This is team.
08:26I love the brother's sewing room.
08:28I can't even afford to have a machine
08:30with all those crazy settings.
08:31All right, let's have a pallet real quick.
08:33We lay out all of our sketches and images
08:36as well as our color swatches to make sure
08:38that everything is very cohesive.
08:39This is a great color palette.
08:41I don't know what I think about my team.
08:43I hope that, like, it all comes together.
08:45Yeah!
08:46Awesome!
08:47Is anyone else incorporating it in something else?
08:50The fuchsia?
08:51Or would that just be the pop of color?
08:52Oh, I'm using the fuchsia because this is becoming, like,
08:55blue everything.
08:56Josh is the only one that has this fuchsia fabric,
08:59and it could be good, but I feel like if it doesn't
09:02appear anywhere else, we might get criticized for it.
09:05I'm not opposed to the pop of color, but I feel like it should.
09:07Listen, I can make two garments in 11 hours,
09:09and then we can decide which one you all want to go with.
09:11Do you want to do that?
09:15I thought I was a diva?
09:17Everybody on the vet side are divas.
09:21There's too many divas in one place.
09:26Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
09:28I don't know the direction Casanova's going on.
09:30I'm wondering if he even has one.
09:32Right now it looks like a little house on the prairie.
09:34It was like a knife, and I was like, aw, man,
09:36I need to get this together.
09:37Anthony, is that your working apron?
09:46Yes, it is my working apron.
09:47It's really quite darling.
09:49Well, you know, it's the fit that makes the fashion.
09:52You feel like there's a lot of competition?
09:55Oh, yeah.
09:56There's some heavy hitters up in here.
09:57There's All-Stars, so you got to bring it.
09:58As far as an advantage, the vets have set the tone
10:02for who they are as a designer.
10:04With the rookies, we're fresh, we're new,
10:05but this is our opportunity to come in, present who we are.
10:08Since my season of Project Runway,
10:10I've gained a lot of confidence.
10:12I have my fashion house.
10:13I have clients ranging all around,
10:15you know, the entertainment industry.
10:16Don't hold nothing back.
10:18Learned that lesson the first time.
10:20And there you go.
10:26What are you cutting first?
10:28Pants.
10:29Canon myself are using the same fabric.
10:31I feel like for the sake of keeping it,
10:34a collection, I have to compromise.
10:37I hate that word.
10:39We're the only two that made it to the All-Stars finale.
10:42And we rank the same.
10:43And we rank the same.
10:44When I came back for season three of All-Stars,
10:48I was definitely still finding myself.
10:50It was very early in my transition.
10:52I'm in a different place.
10:53I'm actually just about to finally launch
10:55Ari South as a brand,
10:56because if you follow me,
10:57you know that my brand is still Andy South.
10:59Andy South now is our men's work collection,
11:01and Ari South is our women's.
11:03So it's kind of that really great duality
11:04that no one else has.
11:08Since Project Runway All-Stars,
11:10I've been trying to find out my path in fashion.
11:14Since I was like a very sexual person,
11:16I feel myself more inclined to do swimsuits and underwear.
11:21I have the same thing.
11:22Oh, good.
11:23In each leg.
11:24Like this thing.
11:25Yeah, it's very like...
11:26So when they want...
11:27South Beach, you know?
11:28Slotty sub.
11:36Hello, designers.
11:37Hi.
11:38I'm Ann Fullenwider.
11:39I'm the editor-in-chief of Mary Claire Magazine,
11:41and I'm your mentor this season.
11:43I'm not here to be your friend.
11:44I'm here to push you to be the best that you can possibly be.
11:47Hi, Ken.
11:48Hi, how are you?
11:49How are you?
11:50Good.
11:51That's pretty hard on you in your finale.
11:52Yes, God, you are.
11:53But you...
11:55But you made it so far.
11:56I did.
11:57And you're so talented.
11:58So tell me about how you guys all came up with the idea
12:01for a cohesive collection.
12:02We're going to Art Basel in Miami.
12:05My woman, she's going to wear a power suit.
12:07I love a power suit.
12:08I personally can't see wearing one to Art Basel.
12:11It's hot.
12:12Okay.
12:13And I want to feel a little sexy.
12:14You might just want to play with a little less fabric on top.
12:16I don't think Ann is going to be any nicer
12:17from the last time I saw her,
12:19but I'm going to take her advice because she is the editor of a fashion magazine.
12:22Is it a vest or are there sleeves?
12:24No sleeves.
12:25Okay.
12:26It's like kind of a leather vest.
12:27Okay.
12:28And what's the bottom going to be?
12:29The bottom is going to be like a flowy pant.
12:32Mmm.
12:33I don't know the direction Casanova is going on.
12:35I'm wondering if he even has one.
12:37I'm a little concerned about what I see so far,
12:40just in terms of your execution and what you've got time for.
12:43So I spent most of my time dying the fabric.
12:45I see a lot of blue happening around.
12:47I don't see a lot of cohesion yet.
12:50I love the gold.
12:51If you're going to go disco, go disco.
12:52That's my two cents.
12:53Great advice.
12:54Frankly, I find this color a little tough.
12:56Okay.
12:57This gown so far looks very elegant.
13:00I just hope that it doesn't go prom dress.
13:03I'm a little concerned it's not going to stand out.
13:06I'm not crazy about these colors that you chose.
13:08This look is a bit boring.
13:11I'm not really digging Helen's look.
13:13It's not fashion forward.
13:15I think you need to express yourself as a designer.
13:19No sweat.
13:20Hi Kimberly.
13:21Hi Anne.
13:22Nice to meet you.
13:23Nice to meet you as well.
13:24You're my first rookie.
13:25Great.
13:26So what was your idea for the collection?
13:27A New York woman who may be 70s inspired.
13:30I love the pants.
13:31I think you're really on something.
13:32Congratulations.
13:34I'm obsessed with this color.
13:35And then the sleeves I made.
13:36Bell.
13:37I don't know what it is but about it that makes me feel a little itchy and claustrophobic.
13:40Okay.
13:41I knew that she was right.
13:42Like when I stepped back and looked at it, I can see that the neck was covered up and
13:46it did give it like an older feel.
13:48I appreciate the craftsmanship of it, but right now it doesn't feel fashion forward.
13:53I can't believe you're not working in black and red.
13:55I've grown since last season.
13:56It's really nice to see you evolve.
13:58I'm sort of getting a 70s kitchen vibe from all your colors.
14:01As long as I don't go home.
14:03Okay.
14:04Well, I think she's at your head heights higher than as long as I don't go home.
14:07Well, they were higher.
14:08I think that's not...
14:09I designed for the creative woman in a business world, so I'm always thinking of her transition
14:12throughout the day.
14:13It doesn't look modern to me right now.
14:15Okay.
14:16Right now it looks like a little house on the prairie.
14:18I was like, ooh, it was like a knife and I was like, oh man.
14:21I'm very futuristic, so that was like, oh man, I need to get this together.
14:25There's something about it that feels a little too frumpy.
14:28Ooh, did you just use that word?
14:30Oh my God.
14:31There's no doubt this is a 70s look.
14:33It kind of looks like it came right out of the 70s.
14:36Looking at the other team's work, I'm terrified because it looks a little bit more cohesive
14:41from what we're doing.
14:42It's a bit conservative.
14:45Think so?
14:46This just looks very traditional and I think that Alyssa told you guys this collection
14:49should be fierce, but I'm not getting fierce.
14:51Okay.
14:52That kind of pissed on my parade a little.
14:54Designers, I think a lot of you are playing it too safe.
14:57You have got to step it up.
14:59Lots of luck, everyone.
15:04Is everyone feeling okay?
15:05After our critique, I'm a little frustrated.
15:07It needs to be cohesive steel.
15:09Right.
15:10I think we just have to make sure we do the order right, style it right.
15:13We're making necessary changes.
15:14I'm just worried about our time management.
15:16So should we get back to work and kill it?
15:18Yeah, roll it tight.
15:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
15:23Where are you from, Kayla?
15:24Boston.
15:25Mmm.
15:26What about you?
15:27Clearly I'm from the south.
15:28It's a little south for me.
15:29I recently started a new company, DPDs, Dead People Dresses.
15:33Recently I had...
15:36Yes, I make dresses for dead people.
15:38Winning this money could really allow me to do my business and do it well.
15:42You've never been to Atlanta?
15:44I barely leave my frickin' town.
15:46Kelly, you a little hood.
15:48Ain't nothing wrong with a little hood.
15:50The models are here.
15:57How are you?
15:58I'm good, baby.
15:59How are you?
16:00I love, love, love color.
16:03Now I'm editing down.
16:05So I want it to be more futuristic, not like Pride and Prejudice.
16:09Okay, okay, okay.
16:11This is like one of my favorite eras, so I'm really trying to do well on this one.
16:15Edmund's gown.
16:16It's okay.
16:17It's not my color palette of choice.
16:20Okay.
16:21Ari, hands down, will turn the runway inside out.
16:24Any accolades she gets about this look, she deserves.
16:27Bye!
16:30You're amazing.
16:33The changes that I am making based upon Anne's critique is I am emphasizing the shoulders.
16:39I want to incorporate what she said, fierceness.
16:41I love the direction that Edmund is taking his gown.
16:44There's something like funky about it.
16:5030 minutes, designers.
16:5230 minutes.
16:57I haven't put a zipper yet.
16:59I haven't hemmed nothing.
17:01I have so much to do.
17:02Designers, that's time for the day.
17:05Looking around the room, we're all like .
17:08Like we got to do.
17:10Done.
17:11I'm a little stressed.
17:12Some of the veterans have a lot to do tomorrow.
17:15One day down.
17:18Come on Stanley.
17:21Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
17:23It's the morning of the runway and this is not my best work.
17:26I hate this.
17:27Edmund's zipper looked like it had scoliosis.
17:29That fall collection is a hot mess.
17:31I'm not even being like a bitch.
17:32It's just like, come on.
17:33That's so obvious.
17:35A disaster.
17:36Holy terror in here.
17:37Is this how we left it?
17:38Helen, you keeping your ruffle raw?
17:39Yes.
17:40I did this yesterday and I hate it.
17:41It's the morning of the runway and after looking at elements of Helen's look and trying to incorporate them in my look, it was an epic fail.
17:55Oh, my favorite.
17:58Put my zipper on.
18:00I have a thousand things to do.
18:02Sorry.
18:03I have to hand sole to shoulders.
18:04I got 10 minutes to rest.
18:06I'm stressed.
18:07I'm talking to myself.
18:08I think I'm going to hand it like normal people with the sewing machine.
18:11I'm like, you can do this, Merlene.
18:12You can do this.
18:13Oh, well.
18:17It is so good to sew.
18:20I still have stuff to do, so I'm going to make sure it fits.
18:23I like it open like that because they make it more modern.
18:25Not House on the Prairie.
18:26The fall collection is poorly sewn.
18:29Merlene's dress, the seams and the lines look unfinished.
18:34Edmund's zipper looked like it had scoliosis.
18:36So I'm not worried about my team winning against the rookies for sure.
18:43Yeah, I like that one better.
18:44Once I see the model in my garment, I'm excited.
18:47I feel like it came to life.
18:49I'm so happy that I took Anne's advice.
18:51You like the changes I made?
18:52Mm-hmm.
18:53I do.
18:54Designers have little tricks that they do.
18:57When in doubt, cape it out.
19:03Hello.
19:04Welcome to the Umberto Hair Salon.
19:05Our team's vision is a modern high bun, not too fussy.
19:10We're going with a 70s vibe.
19:12Heart down the middle, sleek in the back.
19:14We'll start with the blow-dry serum,
19:16and then the Umberto Super Strong Hair Spray.
19:18Sounds beautiful.
19:23Hi, welcome to the Rodeo Glam Room.
19:25Hi, hi, darling.
19:26Our gal is inspired by the 70s,
19:29but young, fresh, modern.
19:32The girls are all different skin tones.
19:34Is this a color that can work across the board?
19:36Rodeo makes an eye sculpt.
19:38It works great on everybody.
19:40Love it.
19:4215 minutes to runway.
19:44First one.
19:49Boom. I think you're set.
19:51I haven't stressed out myself yet.
19:53The time that we have is more than enough for me to finish this look.
19:57Feeling good.
19:58I have an appreciation for Casanova's look, especially the jacket.
20:02I think there could be way more volume in the pants.
20:04I would like those pants to wear as a cover-up on the beach.
20:07I wouldn't wear those down the street just normally, but over a swimsuit?
20:11Yeah.
20:12Boom.
20:13I'm gonna get this closure on so you can get this on,
20:15and then I'll finish the pants.
20:16Ari, she is so talented.
20:19And she can sew, so damn fast.
20:23Her dress is absolutely stunning.
20:25Okay, I think we're good.
20:27I want her out of this damn competition.
20:29Designers, five minutes to runway.
20:34You gonna hit this with a little bit of heat?
20:35Too much booty in the pants.
20:37My garment fits my model like a glove.
20:39It's clean finished.
20:40I feel all right.
20:41Whatever looks good.
20:43I know Helen's work, and I don't really see her personality in this look.
20:47I mean, it's a pencil skirt and a top with a flounce.
20:52Designers, that's it.
20:53Hallelujah, we made it.
20:55Yeah.
20:57These two should switch, no?
20:58The Vets collection, it looks a little drab.
21:01The color choices that are presented, it just looks safe and boring.
21:04I think we nailed our color story.
21:06We start with a winter white, and it grows in color and just looks so pretty.
21:10That fall collection is a hot mess.
21:12It's like, oh, 70s, bell sleeves and bell bottoms.
21:15Who would've thunk it?
21:16And I'm not even being like a bitch.
21:18It's just like, come on, that's so obvious.
21:20I think we did good.
21:21I have to say, the Vets collection definitely looks cohesive.
21:25Bye, ladies.
21:26They have these cool leather cutouts, which I'm super into.
21:29This is definitely going to be a tough runway.
21:31Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
21:38There was no invention to it.
21:40Her hips look giant.
21:41It looks like a dress off the rack.
21:43The power suit's been done.
21:44We get it.
21:45The winner of Project Runway All Stars will receive a fashion spread of Marie Claire and a position at the magazine as contributing editor.
21:55An inspiring trip for two to fashion capital London, England.
21:58And luxurious skincare and makeup for their debut show and beyond, all provided by Rodial.
22:04From Intermix, accessories and styling services to enhance their next collection.
22:09From Brother Sewing and Embroidery, a complete sewing and crafting studio to launch their line.
22:14And to elevate their business and build their brand, a cash prize of $100,000.
22:20Hi.
22:21Hi.
22:22Hello, designers.
22:23Hi, Lisa.
22:24Welcome to our new fancy runway.
22:25Hi.
22:26Nice.
22:27This is Skylight, home of New York Fashion Week.
22:30Some of the biggest names in American fashion, including Ralph Lauren and Rag & Bone, have shown right here.
22:41And now it's your turn.
22:42Okay, so for your first challenge, you created two fierce and cohesive collections in teams of rookies versus vets.
22:50The vets took spring.
22:51The rookies were left with fall.
22:54Our judges will choose the winning design from the winning collection.
22:59And from the losing collection.
23:01Someone will be eliminated tonight.
23:03Let's meet our judges.
23:05First, co-founder and designer of luxury brand Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
23:10Welcome, designers.
23:12Hi.
23:13Hi.
23:14Next, one of the most iconic names in American fashion, designer Isaac Mizrahi.
23:19Hi, kids.
23:20You better watch it because I'm going to be super, super bitchy this time.
23:24Oh.
23:25Our guest judge is one of the most successful Project Runway veterans in history.
23:30Since his all-stars experience, he has become the go-to designer for almost every female star in Hollywood.
23:37And his custom-made gowns for Beyonce are now on display in the Grammy Museum.
23:43Please welcome Michael Costello.
23:45Hi, guys.
23:46So, we are judging blind, which means we won't know who designed what until after the runway.
23:55It's time to reveal your spring and fall collections.
23:58So, have a good show.
24:01Thank you, Emily.
24:02That looks nice.
24:03I'm really proud of myself.
24:04You can see the change from when I was on my season of Project Runway 11 to now and see
24:16how I have evolved.
24:26My design aesthetic is kind of a rock and roll hippie chick.
24:31It's always easy.
24:32It's always rock and roll.
24:34It's clothes for the cool girl.
24:41God, it's got volume and fit.
24:43I'm loving how the dress is moving.
24:46I'm loving how the color is popping off of her beautiful skin.
24:50She looks confident.
24:51I want to get to know this girl.
24:53Like, I want to hang out with her.
25:01Nailed it.
25:02I'm really proud of this grandma.
25:04I love the shape.
25:05I love the proportion.
25:07She looks fierce.
25:08She looks hot.
25:09She looks like I control the room.
25:11Ugh.
25:12I'm like, I need to wear that dress now.
25:15I just love my finished look.
25:25I love this, like, innovative collar that I made.
25:29And I know that I'm on the right track with staying true to who I am as a designer.
25:33Should have put her on roller skates.
25:44I would if I could.
25:45I feel so good about my design.
25:47It's totally me, and I love it.
25:50I want to wear it right now.
25:51I wish I made two of them so I could wear it at the same time.
26:00Oh, my gosh.
26:01Oh, wow.
26:02She looks fierce.
26:03It's moving.
26:04It has drama.
26:05There's volume.
26:06The cutouts, it's just a bit sexy and then a little bit edgy.
26:10And it looks beautiful.
26:17There she is.
26:19All in all, it looks pretty good on the runway.
26:21I think the fit is very beautiful on her body.
26:24It's definitely given the dramatic effect that I want.
26:27I feel like this represents who I am as a designer.
26:30I think the movement and the drama is really going to get the judges' attention.
26:47It's beautiful.
26:48Looking at my garment, I should have edited myself a little bit more.
26:52The waistband's too thick and I hate the fact that I can see her navel.
26:53The judges, they know my work and they know what I can do.
26:54And this does not meet up to the last time they see me.
27:25I'm pretty happy those span looks really really sexy I
27:31Have a little concern about the fit of the top
27:36The judges they might notice they might not
27:43I
27:45Couldn't be happier with the way my garment is moving down the runway. I think there's a great element of
27:52easy breezy
27:54Miami that we all discussed as a collection
28:01I think she looks cool. I think I designed what I set out to do. I
28:07Think the leather trim looks beautiful
28:09The skirt fits her perfectly
28:12I'm happy with it
28:14Good at it Helen. I feel really good. It walks a lot better on an actual person than I feel like it looked on the dress form
28:26If it is awesome, but does that really speak for me as a designer?
28:31I love this girl. I'm in love with this one the fringe is swaying. She's beautiful
28:44But I'm just worried that the judges are not going to see progression in my design aesthetic
28:49She looks lovely I have no thoughts about my look. I only have knowledge. I know that it's beautiful
28:59It's moving moving which is standing still I love the balance of the structure with the movement
29:04I enjoy knowing that it really is a two-piece, but it looks like one gown
29:09Designers your collections really kicked off our first runway in style the winning collection is
29:30the fall collection from the rookie
29:39I'm too shabby
29:41So designers if I call your name, please step forward
29:43Char
29:45Merlene
29:47Edmund
29:49Congratulations
29:51You have the highest scores on your team and one of you is the winner of this challenge
29:55We have an honorable mention
29:57Honorable mention
29:58The highest score from the spring collection came from Ari we all loved your design good job
30:10And now to the vets
30:12Ken
30:14Casanova
30:16Helen
30:18You have the lowest scores of your team which means one of you will be going home tonight
30:24We're gonna start with the highest scoring looks from the winning collection
30:33Edmund
30:34Yes
30:35Why don't you tell us about your fall look?
30:37As a team collectively we decided that our inspiration would be from the 1970s
30:41What I wanted to do is incorporate the elements of sexiness
30:45I think there's a fresh glamour to this dress in that it has no bling and it has drama
30:52What I love about this is the easy glamour of it
30:56I do think perhaps the shoulders are a little bit on the big side
30:59I like the idea of it but it's getting a touch bit footballer to me
31:02The fit is just a little off these style lines or the seams they just don't look like they're hitting her in the right area
31:08I love this dress Edmund
31:10Thank you
31:11Everything about it is unexpected
31:13The fact that it's olive green for an evening dress that is pretty miraculous
31:18Great job
31:19Thank you
31:20Char you're up
31:21I wanted to do a dress that was form fitted but still had flair
31:25But after our critique with our mentor Ann she was like look this looks momsy
31:29So I did a lot of editing
31:31Char congratulations on this little dress I can't stop looking at it
31:34Oh thank you
31:35It's almost like she has a cape and a dress it's just beautiful
31:39Thank you
31:40I don't like high and low something about the addition of the cape just makes me love high and low
31:45Thank you
31:46I do think for this dress to be in this color is so brilliant because it's so unexpected
31:51Thank you
31:52The movement when it walked down the runway was really beautiful well done Char
31:55Thank you
31:56Marilyn
31:57I got the opportunity to go to school for architecture and fashion so I love geometric shape I love lines
32:02I feel like this was one that I got to be creative and I got to be fun and I got to be me
32:06I love the nudity of her arm it made her arm such an incredibly sexy thing
32:12It's almost like she has a suit of armor on and the sleeves can be detachable and she's taking off these pieces
32:19I like the architecture of the dress I think it's inventive
32:23There are problems in your seaming and I think that's something for you to work on
32:27The thing that blows me away about this dress the most is how it is so strong but also really soft and feminine really great job
32:37Thank you
32:38Okay our least favorite looks from the losing collection
32:41Ken tell us about your spring look
32:43Our girl was going to Art Basel so trying to stay true to my aesthetic I wanted to create something that was powerful for women
32:50This was my end result
32:52I love the idea of a short sleeve blazer something about seeing her belly button just makes it feel very junior
33:01The pants almost look like a maternity pants that you wear with a stretchy band
33:05This makes this gorgeous woman look terrible up on the runway
33:08You've got a ton of issues going on here but overall this girl looks a little bit trashy
33:14I don't think that's the point of view you want as a designer
33:18Absolutely
33:19I really appreciate that whole power woman thing that you always go for
33:23My advice to you would be to figure out how to make that fresh because otherwise the power suits been done
33:30We get it
33:32Okay
33:33Casanova
33:34I love to work with leather so she is a look from day to night to hang out in Ocean Drive with friends and having a cocktail
33:42I'm really happy with the look
33:44The bottom is so soft and flowy and the top is so structured and hard
33:49To me just chiffon and leather it's a really tricky combination to make it look like a complete thought
33:56The one thing I could say to you is that you took these completely disparate pieces and you styled them together
34:03But they look like pieces that I've seen already
34:07Casanova I'm so confused
34:11And I can't see her going to Art Basel
34:14I don't want her to go to Art Basel
34:17I want her to change right now into something else
34:23I don't think anyone's questioning your talent
34:25You know you've made a beautiful top at the front
34:27You have this easy trouser
34:29It just looks a little schizophrenic
34:32Helen
34:33So for my particular look I decided to bring in some of the cutout from the remainder of the collection
34:38But I didn't want to make too much compromise because again it's my look
34:41I really liked this
34:43I think it's really well executed
34:45Your tailoring is beautiful
34:47I don't know why you're in the bottom
34:48Her hips look giant and it looks like a dress off the rack
34:51I just think like doesn't do you justice
34:54This is the reason that I liked Fall
34:56Your stuff is way more polished
34:58But the collection of all felt old and dated and there was no invention to it
35:03Right
35:04The judges and I will now deliberate
35:06Please join the others in the backstage lounge
35:08And we will call you back soon
35:15How'd it go? Tell us what happened?
35:17Kind of mixed reviews
35:18It lacked design elements
35:20I guess I was more like
35:21All right, let's bring it home like together
35:23And I compromised
35:24It's the last time I'm gonna do that
35:26So you blame the group, Helen?
35:28I'm not blaming anyone
35:31Who am I gonna blame?
35:35So the first runway of our new season
35:37And I thought we saw some really strong looks today
35:40But it was beautiful
35:41Well, let's talk about the highest scoring looks from the winning collection
35:45Char
35:46That was my favorite look in the show
35:48It felt so fresh, it felt so new
35:50I don't think she executed it well
35:52That sleeve I just found so problematic
35:55I think the overall design worked really well for her
35:58I'm not sure if that's how it started in the beginning with that dress
36:02It almost looks like it was supposed to be something else
36:05Happy mistakes
36:06Yes, happy mistakes
36:10I'd like to talk about Edmund
36:12I like that dress
36:13I thought it was a simpler dress than he made it
36:16It just was a little tortured for an easy dress
36:18You know, doing a evening t-shirt dress
36:21In like this olive color
36:23Is a really interesting idea
36:25Maybe if he had more time to develop
36:27That's no excuse
36:28I've been on this show before and I've made six looks in one episode
36:32And I think these are Project Runway All-Stars
36:34I know that they're capable of doing that
36:36Now I'd like to discuss Merline
36:40If we were talking about Char and her having a happy mistake
36:44I think Merline did not have a happy mistake
36:47She actually set out to do something marvelous and she did
36:51She made something so sexy by not showing what society finds sexy in a woman's body
36:57I love the idea of this dress
36:59The execution was poor
37:00There's no way around this
37:02All right, now I would like to discuss our least favorite looks from the losing collection
37:10Which surprisingly was from the vets
37:13They didn't push any boundaries
37:15It felt so dated
37:17Can we just take Helen out of the bottom?
37:19Definitely
37:20Because I don't think she should go home based on that dress
37:22No
37:23I don't either
37:24It's a good dress
37:26So we're left with Casanova and Ken
37:29There's major taste issues going on here
37:32In both cases
37:33Yeah
37:34The whole showing the midriff in Ken's power suit
37:37When he presented that he started talking about feminism again
37:40And I sort of cringed
37:41Yeah
37:42Because what does that have to do with feminism?
37:45But at least I could see where the intention was going
37:48Well, I am so lost in Casanova
37:50Except Casanova
37:52That was beautifully executed, you know?
37:54Like that jacket was quite nicely made
37:56He's a fantastic sewer
37:57And he's a great pattern maker
37:59And he's a really good designer
38:00You know what?
38:01Going back to the idea that they're vets
38:03Maybe they were trying to be too collaborative
38:05You know, sometimes that can get the best of you too
38:08It's no excuse
38:09This is the second time they've been on All Stars
38:12I'm sorry
38:13Right
38:14But they've done this challenge before
38:15Both of them
38:20So are we all in agreement?
38:22Then let's bring them back out
38:29Designers, it was a great first runway
38:32Clearly you're not going to make our jobs easy this season
38:36But we have finally made our decision
38:48Edmund, you're safe
38:49All right, thank you
38:51Char and Marilyn
38:54One of you is the winner of this week's challenge
38:57And that designer is
39:03Marilyn
39:08Congratulations, Marilyn
39:10And you too, Char
39:11Thank you
39:12We'll see you both again next week
39:13Thank you
39:14Thank you
39:15Thank you
39:16I won a challenge
39:17It's insane
39:18Huh? Huh?
39:19Shakita?
39:20I'm really out there
39:23Like as a creative person
39:24So it's so cool that like
39:26I make something
39:27And they're like
39:28I see you
39:29Helen, you had a low score
39:30But you are safe
39:31You can leave the runway
39:32Come to you
39:37Casanova and Ken
39:38We had major issues with the choices you made this week
39:41And as All Stars, you've both been here before
39:43So there's no excuse
39:48The designer eliminated tonight is
39:56Casanova
39:59That means, Ken, you remain in the competition
40:01And you can leave the runway
40:02Thank you
40:07Casanova, thank you for joining us on All Stars
40:09Thank you for having me
40:10Thank you
40:11Be good
40:17I'm so happy that they bring me back to Project Run with All Stars
40:21I got one more shot
40:22Oh
40:25I'm kidding
40:26I'm kidding
40:27What I can say in this short time that I was here
40:30I learned that whatever you have on mine is gonna manifest
40:36Bye guys
40:37Cabo
40:38We'll talk soon
40:39Perhaps my mind was not really into another challenge
40:43This is the results
40:46This season on Project Runway All Stars
40:49Okay
40:51Is bleach flammable?
40:53There's a little bit of me that wants to burn everything
40:56Betty Boop
40:57Hi Project Runway All Star designers

41:28Yes!
41:29I'm about to quit
41:30Why am I shaking so hard?
41:32Cause just got real real
41:34Are you saying you have no plan whatsoever?
41:37So insulting
41:38You undermine everybody else to make yourself look better
41:40Why would I do that?
41:42Hello
41:43Do you want to know what I think?
41:44You're going to tear me anyway
41:45I'm sort of mad at you because I don't think you got it at all
41:48You can't say something is too pushy
41:50You are too pretty, okay?
41:53This dress is everything
41:54It inspires me
41:55Young and chic
41:56We want to see it every week
