00:01Previously on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:03I'm going to assign you a challenge to work in color this week.
00:07I have these wonderful little color palettes.
00:09You must choose a complementary color.
00:14I'm curious how this is going to be different from last week's.
00:16Didn't they just tear her ass on the runway not to do ?
00:19I ain't saying .
00:21Very clever.
00:22It's a lot of work, but I think I'll be rewarded.
00:24I love the cut-off leg.
00:31It's really playful, but to me the color's a little depressing.
00:35Stanley, it's madly interesting.
00:38The colors are divine.
00:40It reminds me of old couture.
00:42Yeah.
00:43The winning designer is...
00:46Stanley.
00:49I find some of the lines on her a little wonky.
00:53I feel like your slit is too big.
00:55The yellow is not my favorite.
00:57It looks mistaken.
00:59You have to push past showing us the same dress week after week.
01:02Okay.
01:03The eliminated designer tonight is...
01:06Merle.
01:10This is Project Runway All-Stars.
01:23We're walking down Fifth Avenue.
01:25I have no idea where we're going.
01:28The money that that avenue has.
01:30I know something big is going on if we're in the ritzy part of town.
01:38Can we touch?
01:39We end up in the showroom, the atelier of the great and wonderful Mr. Zach Posen.
01:44Hi.
01:45To get a private tour of such a major designer's house, this is what I live for.
01:50Good morning, designers.
01:51Good morning.
01:52Good morning.
01:53Welcome to the world of Zach Posen.
01:55As you know, Zach has had phenomenal success in the fashion industry dressing major stars,
02:01from Oscar winners to first ladies, and there is no mistaking a Zach Posen dress.
02:07One of the main reasons for this is his signature technique.
02:12How did that come about?
02:13Well, it came about from loving the female body and then an obsession with how to cut clothing,
02:18so that that becomes the technique, anatomical and architectural.
02:23What Zach Posen does is actually a dying breed in fashion.
02:27So, designers, are you ready to hear this week's challenge?
02:29Yes.
02:30Your challenge is to create a red carpet look that showcases your signature technique.
02:36It might be tailoring, it might be ruffles, pleating, whatever technique you do best.
02:43So that when everybody sees your design, they immediately know that it comes from you.
02:47Okay, so you have one day in the workroom.
02:49Woo!
02:50Do I think it's enough time?
02:51No, but this is all stars, so I mean, what do you expect?
02:55And you'll be judged on the quality of your technique.
02:58So it must be clear what that technique is when your model walks the runway.
03:03Okay.
03:04Your mentor, Ann, is away this week.
03:06Since each of you has a very strong point of view, you're going to participate in your own mentor session.
03:13Ooh!
03:14Ooh!
03:15We gonna mentor each other?
03:16Yes.
03:17Oh, well, damn.
03:18I'm not giving nobody no advice.
03:20I'm not steering them in no different directions.
03:22And hopefully you will benefit from each other's constructive criticism.
03:27Constructive being the important word there.
03:30Well, hold on now.
03:31I'm not gonna give you too much advice to where your ass whooped me in the challenge.
03:35Zach has never allowed cameras into his workroom, but he's extended an exclusive invitation to you guys to tour the workroom with him.
03:43And he will be joining the judges on the runway tomorrow.
03:46And, of course, there is a pretty cool prize for this week's winning designers.
03:50I have arranged for you to be the wardrobe designer of a leading lady of a Lifetime original movie.
03:59I want that prize.
04:02This is a prize of a lifetime.
04:05It'll put you on the map.
04:06It'll do exactly what you need to do.
04:08So you guys ready?
04:09Ready.
04:10Zach, take it away.
04:11Welcome.
04:12It's my Willy Wonka moment.
04:14To get to tour, Zach's atelier is a huge deal.
04:24So this is our atelier and our studio.
04:27You can see where all of his seamstresses and tailors cut the material, sew the material, drape, and et cetera.
04:33And there's rolls and tons and tons of fabric.
04:36It looks like mini mood, actually.
04:38There's not a thread out of place or a seam that's not pressed perfectly.
04:42When it comes to expectations, this challenge, they're very, very high.
04:45This is part of the understructure of our Met Ball gown.
04:50I don't know if you saw Claire Danes, but it started off with a whole engineered piece.
04:56I'm freaking out because I love Zach and his work.
05:00He's living in such a glamorous world.
05:03So what I've done is I've put together fabrics from my collection that you're going to be able to make your pieces out of.
05:09What?
05:11We've brought out the good stuff.
05:12Thank you, Zach.
05:13If you have an opportunity to pick fabrics from Zach's selections, it's already a prize in itself.
05:18He has amazing taste, but he has access to things that we don't have.
05:21There are laces here from France, silks from Italy.
05:25They're all very special and unique, so choose wisely.
05:28Stanley, I believe you won the last challenge.
05:31Yes.
05:32So you get first picked.
05:33Have fun choosing your fabrics.
05:34Thank you Zach.
05:35I was very happy to share my studio.
05:38Good luck.
05:39This fabric situation is interesting because we are selecting materials before we sit down to sketch.
05:46Okay, guys, I'm going to choose first, so good luck.
05:52I would like seven yards, please.
05:55So pretty.
05:56This is like a designer's dream.
05:58Super fine fabrics that we even, if we had a budget, we wouldn't be able to purchase that food.
06:02Thank you so much.
06:06My signature technique is tailoring.
06:08I am designing a red gown with the skirt being the main focus, so it's going to have a lot of volume in the skirt,
06:14but it's going to be still fitted to show off the figure.
06:16It's very simple, but it's going to be very effective.
06:18Got some aggressive sketching going on today.
06:21My signature technique is corsetry.
06:23That's why I buy five yards of boning every single week.
06:27I'm sketching a strapless fit and flare gown, and I want to be sure that I do color blocking because I chose two shades of red.
06:35The signature technique that I'm utilizing is my ruffles.
06:40I'm really known for that.
06:41I really want to create an amazing detail, like a huge rose blossom.
06:46I want to create a dramatic effect, but something that's very elegant as well.
06:51My technique for this challenge is sculpting, so I'm hoping that the judges recognize it fresh out the gate.
06:58I'm doing pin tucks, which is a technique that you connect each pin tuck by a little bit of thread that creates a really cool effect.
07:07I'm going to try to wow him with something that I don't think the other designers are even going to think of, or let's really call it know of.
07:14You guys ready to head to the workroom?
07:17Sure.
07:18Thank you, Stanley.
07:19Come on, darling.
07:20Let's go make some pretty dresses.
07:21I'm so excited.
07:22Did anyone use orange?
07:23The first thing I do when I get to the workroom is grab my bobbins and my thread colors and head into the brother sewing room to make sure that, you know, my sewing space is set and ready for the madness to come.
07:45My signature technique is sculpting.
07:50It's going to be really full at the bottom and the back is going to have this straight that's going to be like 3D almost.
07:56My signature technique will be pleating.
07:58I'm thinking of volume in the bottom and really fitted at the top.
08:02A lot of heavy hitters here, Anthony does gowns, Cam does gowns, Helen does gowns, sleeping, but that could be their downfall because they're so accustomed to it that they might not stretch themselves far enough.
08:12The first thing is really trying to figure out what is this fabric going to do and is it going to do what I want it to do.
08:20I'm realizing that it is willing to drape, so I've got to figure out like how it's going to hold, where I need to like reinforce it, or even if I should just change the whole concept and go with something else.
08:32I ain't going to have time on this challenge to build out.
08:36Like your understructure?
08:37Just period.
08:38After the pattern, you have to cut out your fashion fabric.
08:41Then after the fashion fabric, you have to stitch.
08:43Honey, I'm cutting out like three of those steps at this point.
08:47Ooh, my eye twitching.
08:49What that mean if your eye twitch?
08:51It means stress.
08:53Right now I'm a little upset and disappointed with myself because I wanted to show them that I could take any material and sculpt the hell out of it.
09:02But I'm spending too much time manipulating this material and making it heavier versus the construction of the actual overall idea.
09:12So right now I'm working hard and not smart.
09:15Oh.
09:16Oh, you're sad.
09:18Oh, come here, baby.
09:20Come on.
09:21I'm sorry.
09:22Ken seems to be struggling.
09:23When you try to drape with such heavy materials and force them to do things that they're not meant to, you're not going to get a great product.
09:30I think he's in trouble.
09:35Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
09:37You said something I don't like about my dress today.
09:39We're going to find it.
09:40Yeah, I like it.
09:41I lied.
09:42It was ugly.
09:43I remember last week you were on the bottom.
09:45Ooh.
09:46Seeing a shoe wouldn't be a no-no.
09:57I'm thinking Zach is looking to see, you know, knowledge for this challenge.
10:02I start working in muslin first just to see how the pin tucking technique is going to come out.
10:09I'm doing that into muslin is the safest way rather than cutting right into my fabric and potentially wasting yardage that I really do need.
10:19Here's the problem with pin tucking.
10:21You have to create the effect by hand.
10:25They have to be, like, perfectly equally distanced.
10:28It's way too much work.
10:29That's why you buy fabric that's already pin tucked.
10:34You said something I don't like about my dress today.
10:35We're going to find it.
10:38Today we don't have a mentor critique with Ann.
10:40We're going to critique one another.
10:42So how does this critique work?
10:43We choose who we want to be our Ann or they appoint us an Ann.
10:47If anything, I want you to be my Ann.
10:49Oh, it's so sweet.
10:50Is that nice or mean?
10:51No, it's nice.
10:52Oh, my God, thank you.
10:53I don't know how this is going to work because I personally plan on being brutally honest.
10:59You guys.
11:00Yo.
11:01Oh, awesome.
11:02We all already know what a button bag implies.
11:06And that means, like, drawing names.
11:08So I guess whoever I pull, I'm mentoring.
11:10That's right.
11:12Anthony!
11:15You're exactly who I said I wanted.
11:18I absolutely adore Stanley.
11:21You know, I'm just happy that he's at my table.
11:23Tell me, what is your technique?
11:24Well, my technique is sculpting.
11:26You can still see this feminine silhouette.
11:28You can see her waistline as well as the hips.
11:30But you also see this beautiful molding that's happening.
11:33Right.
11:34You can still see the feminine form inside.
11:35And there's no seam on the side at all?
11:36There is no seam.
11:37Wow.
11:38Something also that I've done that the judges are quite familiar with is one seam.
11:41If I were you, I would stick to your design initially.
11:43Remember last week, you were on the bottom.
11:45Ooh.
11:46I was on the bottom, but you know what I did, Stanley?
11:49What?
11:50I looked down the wrong way and I thought about when you were in the bottom
11:52and how you have risen like the phoenix.
11:54Exactly.
11:55And I knew, you know what?
11:56There's nowhere to go but to the top from here.
11:57That's it.
11:58Joshua!
12:01I'm not sure what Josh is designing for the challenge.
12:04If it's true to Josh and his aesthetic, I'm sure she'll be naked and there'll be some level of street walker to it for sure.
12:12For my technique, I'm working in pin tucking.
12:15So that's what you can kind of see here.
12:17Where's your fabric?
12:18What are you working with?
12:19It's two-tone.
12:20It's really heavy.
12:21Okay.
12:22Are you gonna use both colors?
12:24Um, I'm thinking so, Pam.
12:26Because if you use both colors, you kind of would be doing color blocking as a technique as well.
12:31I didn't even think of that angle.
12:33Anthony is such a jokester that I don't know when to know if he's being serious.
12:40So I leave the critique with kind of just nothing.
12:47Ken.
12:48Oh, this should be fun.
12:51I think Ken has some really great ideas.
12:55I'm battling between adding this sculptural details.
12:59Is this more loops or is it that cool cone thing that we saw Zach do?
13:03I don't know yet.
13:04Well, if you want any solid, feel free if I don't use it all.
13:08Oh, okay.
13:09Thank you, bitch.
13:10I'm gonna do what I want to do.
13:11Okay.
13:12I'm gonna leave this with you.
13:13That's the devil.
13:15Fabio!
13:16Yay!
13:17Ken has a really strong eye for construction and tailoring.
13:21So if anybody could help me right now, it would be him.
13:24Well, my technique is pleating.
13:26As you can see, I wanted to go with like really deep pleats on the waistline.
13:30So question, what are you gonna do to mold this a little bit more?
13:34So I'm gonna hand tack it so I can like scope that as I go.
13:37I like it.
13:38I lied.
13:41It was ugly.
13:44Edmund.
13:45My technique is going to be ruffles.
13:47Got it.
13:48So I'm creating this whole rose effect.
13:50The top stitching is what throws me off.
13:52You feeling like I shouldn't have top stitched?
13:54I mean, just...
13:55So it would be more of that effect.
13:56I would say as an option, you can even fold it back in so you have a clean edge.
14:01Exactly.
14:02He is right.
14:03That straight machine stitch did like draw your eye directly to it.
14:07Should I think about it?
14:08Is that coming from a good place?
14:09This is your competitor.
14:11But I appreciate that feedback that he's given me on that.
14:14And I definitely want to change it from that.
14:16Helen.
14:17Edmund's not my preference for a mentor because I don't get his aesthetic.
14:22I don't really think I'm gonna get any feedback aside from do keep doing what you're doing.
14:28My main ambition today is to make an awesome corset.
14:32Is it gonna be covered or is it just this?
14:34I haven't figured...
14:35No, no, it will be.
14:36Yeah.
14:37Seeing the direction she's going in, it could look really good.
14:40Who ideally do you see wearing this gown?
14:42You know, I could see like Jennifer Lawrence in it.
14:45That would be awesome.
14:46I'm excited to see the finished product.
14:48Thanks so much.
14:52Hello, Stanley.
14:53Hi, Helen.
14:54What's happening?
14:55Stanley is a really seasoned designer.
14:57So to have any of us go mentor him, I just want to see like, you know, like front row what the hell's gonna happen with this.
15:05So I have this, uh, double face satin that I'm fusing and then some shaping.
15:09Wow.
15:10Those guys are like looking at my mentor session like it's a prime time TV special with Barbara Walters.
15:15And what do you have in mind for length?
15:17Um, right now it's just to the floor.
15:19Part of me feels like seeing a shoe wouldn't be like a no-no.
15:22I think that would be kind of nice.
15:24Okay.
15:25She tells him to shorten the length in his hem just to show a little toe.
15:30But I know Alyssa and Georgina hates to see shoes and feet.
15:35So I feel like it's like a jab.
15:37I feel like to shorten the length might, that it won't go too.
15:46I think the sister wives are just waiting for Stanley and I to like, get like in a heated argument.
15:52I mean, it's a competition.
15:54Who's to say what I'm telling Stanley is to his advantage.
15:57Good luck.
15:58Thanks.
16:01Okay then.
16:02Hey, hey, how are you?
16:05I'm gonna have to bomb this even though I thought I wasn't.
16:13I need to make some adjustments to the top.
16:15The bodice is not sitting properly.
16:18So honestly versus me making a completely new top.
16:22I'm just gonna take these darts and turn them into scenes.
16:25The clock's ticking.
16:27But can I just see one more time?
16:29Cause that really gives me life.
16:32Josh isn't doing a model fitting this week.
16:35If there's nothing to fit, I'm not gonna bull myself.
16:38I know my skillset and I can finish the fitting in two and a half hours.
16:42Come runway day.
16:43Bye ladies.
16:47This was my first down fit and I had a top and a bottom putting on it.
16:51Good for you.
16:52This time I did what you told me to do.
16:54I draped it on it this time.
16:55You know Stanley, soon you will find out.
16:57I'm not just cute.
16:58I'm picking up what you're putting down.
17:00Are you gonna just put like a hook in there?
17:10Oh.
17:11I have a lot of finishings to do.
17:13I have my arm holes, I have my neckline, I have my dress and I'm doing it all by hand.
17:18I guess it's that time of the evening.
17:20What?
17:21When you start steam ripping.
17:23I have to add the zipper, do the hem of the dress, attach the bodice to the skirt and add the drama.
17:30Damn mother .
17:32What you doing?
17:33This ain't ripping the wrong line.
17:35I've got to get this skirt started.
17:38So really come tomorrow morning for the runway.
17:40It's gonna be about adding the pin tucking, setting in a zipper and just making sure that the fit is really exquisite to impress Zach.
17:4815 minutes left.
17:53You better speak life into it.
17:56Well, if it don't turn out right, I'm damn sure I'm gonna speak death into.
18:00I'm absolutely at a point of frustration.
18:03Oh, it's a lot.
18:04I need an assistant.
18:05Did you get an assistant on Project Runway All-Stars?
18:08That's time guys.
18:10I'm a liar.
18:13Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
18:16Can't do a evening wear challenge in 10 hours.
18:19I don't think anybody's at a good place.
18:22I'm like losing my here.
18:23I'm bleeding everywhere.
18:25I'm not gonna play this game.
18:27So insulting.
18:28That's a little shady.
18:33It's morning of the runway and I have a lot of finishings to do.
18:40Hope my mom know how to model with safety pins because she's getting a couple today.
18:45I don't see a lot of confidence in people.
18:47Can't do a evening wear challenge in 10 hours.
18:51There's a lot at stake, but we are all trying to redeem ourselves.
18:54It's hard to do, you know, boning and pin it.
18:58I don't think anybody's at a good place.
19:00I'm bleeding everywhere.
19:02I still have to add the top to the skirt and do my finishings.
19:07Sadly the pin tucking took me a lot of time.
19:10So I'm freaking out that I won't have enough time to finish this dress.
19:14Josh, what are you doing today?
19:16Just donating blood.
19:17I'm torturing myself.
19:19I know I'm like losing my year.
19:21You know like when like there's no time and you're like, oh, I'll cut corners.
19:24But like I never cut corners.
19:25So like now I'm suffering.
19:27I thought it would be a really good idea to take my time and sew this efficiently yesterday.
19:32And it's not working in my favor.
19:34What are you working on?
19:36Everything.
19:37Oh.
19:38You?
19:39I got to attach my side piece and do my heel.
19:42Is it me or every time you think you finish you realize another part of your dress has had to be done?
19:52Good morning.
19:53Good morning.
19:54You like it?
19:55Yeah.
19:56We'll come to you in two minutes.
20:02Fabio's look has a beautiful flow, but it's covering up a lot of skin.
20:06I mean, it's different from what you see in the norm of a red carpet.
20:10It can be really, really good for him or really bad.
20:13And it looks beautiful.
20:15Mark it.
20:16I feel like Edmund's ruffles look like roast beef, like raw red skirt steak.
20:21She zipped up, ladies and gentlemen.
20:24I love Anthony's look.
20:25I feel like he really resolved all his issues.
20:27His model really looks like old Hollywood glamour.
20:31Somehow, by the grace of God, you still look like a million bucks.
20:35I love my look.
20:36There are no raw edges.
20:38The fit is impeccable.
20:39I am quite proud of this look.
20:41You look stunning.
20:47Welcome to the Rodial Glam Room.
20:49Today we're going super red carpet.
20:50I'm going to keep my look very simple.
20:52I want the dress to shine.
20:53Contour and shimmer.
20:54Yes.
20:55Youthful, but sophisticated.
20:57Just really sculpt out the eyes with the Rodial sculpting gel.
21:01Okay, awesome.
21:04See you in a bit.
21:05Okay.
21:06Welcome to the Umberto Hair Salon.
21:07It's red carpet glamour, so we want an up-do.
21:10Just back over like that and then soften the wave.
21:13Yeah, that would be fantastic.
21:14We can actually blow her hair out with the blow-dry lotion by Umberto.
21:18We'll give her some extensions and we'll give her Georgina Chapman.
21:21Oh, when you say extensions and Georgina, I just get all excited.
21:2625 minutes.
21:30Let me see you up.
21:31The shoes I decide to get from the Intermix accessory wall are these absolutely fabulous metallic gold-heeled sandals.
21:37I think it's going to elevate my look and take it to that place where I really want to take it.
21:41It's going to be great.
21:43I love Ken's base.
21:44I don't know if the drape is well resolved.
21:47It looks heavy, especially being on one side only.
21:50Pose, hands up.
21:51It just kind of looked like a comforter that was attached to the side.
21:57It's beautiful.
21:59The one to beat this week would definitely be Stanley.
22:02It's somewhat simplistic, but reference-wise, that will be right up Zach Pozen's alley.
22:07And he's the judge this week.
22:09That color is so pretty on you.
22:11I love Stanley's look.
22:12I see a little bit of an issue with the ham where the panels are not even.
22:16Some go up, some go down.
22:18I'd like to thank the Academy for this huge honor.
22:21We have 15 minutes to runway.
22:23Where the the iron go?
22:25Better than it was, right?
22:26Yeah.
22:27Oh, God.
22:28Joshua's look looks like a woman who had just divorced her husband, so she snuck into her daughter's room to get this dress to go to the club and meet some man to have sex with.
22:39It's pretty.
22:40All right, guys, it's time to head to the runway.
22:42It looks just like our drawing.
22:44I got the chills.
22:45Gorgeous.
22:48Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
22:50I am always one for a ruffle and a flower.
22:53It's not how hard you were, it's what it looks like.
22:55My breasts would look gorgeous in this dress.
22:58I'm dying over here.
23:00Boobies or no boobies.
23:02This dress is really great.
23:03The winner of Project Runway All Stars will receive a fashion spread of Marie Claire and a position at the magazine as contributing editor.
23:12An inspiring trip for two to fashion capital London, England.
23:16And luxurious skin care and makeup for their debut show and beyond all provided by Rodial.
23:22From intermix, accessories and styling services to enhance their next collection.
23:27From brother sewing and embroidery, a complete sewing and crafting studio to launch their line.
23:32And to elevate their business and build their brand, a cash prize of $100,000.
23:39Oh, okay.
23:41Hey.
23:42Hi.
23:43Hello, designers.
23:44Hello.
23:45This week, you received an exclusive invitation to tour Zach Pozen's workroom.
23:51To select fabrics for a red carpet look that showcases your signature technique.
23:57Let's meet tonight's judges critiquing your work.
24:00First, co-founder and designer of luxury brand Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
24:05Hi.
24:07Next, one of the most iconic names in American fashion, Mr. Isaac Mizrahi and his friend Norman.
24:15Hi, Norman.
24:16Hi.
24:17Hi.
24:18Our first guest is no stranger to the red carpet.
24:20Her breakout role in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing led to an Academy Award nomination for her role in Fearless.
24:28Her performances on stage and screen have made her a much loved household name.
24:34Please welcome the adorable Rosie Perez.
24:37Hello.
24:38Our next guest's label has quickly grown into one of the hottest properties in fashion.
24:45His designs have become red carpet moments for almost every Hollywood leading lady.
24:51It's acclaimed fashion designer and Project Runway judge, Zach Pozen.
24:56Yay.
24:57Yeah.
24:59This week's winner will have the opportunity to design for a lifetime original movie event.
25:05I can't wait to see how your signature techniques stand out on the runway in Zach Pozen fabrics.
25:11Have a great show.
25:13Take your time, girl.
25:14Wow.
25:15My gown looks amazing.
25:16It highlights beautifully.
25:17My signature technique.
25:18I mean, the tailoring.
25:19And it's just impeccable.
25:20It's one of those moments, like, if you saw her on the red carpet, people would get out of her way, and the photographers would be glamoury to take her picture.
25:34Oh, elegant.
25:35My model looks really graceful.
25:40My style lines are beautiful.
25:44The fit is amazing.
25:47I always watch the judges' faces because if they don't like something, it's pretty obvious.
25:59Good job, and I love, bro, that detail.
26:02I feel really good.
26:03I think that my model looks beautiful.
26:07I am hoping that the judges will appreciate the technique in the rose itself.
26:13It's a creation from beginning to end.
26:24Stunning.
26:25She looks incredible.
26:26One thing that is special about my work is that you always see that feminine silhouette, but there's this architectural softness to it.
26:33And that makes me feel a little tingly on the inside.
26:44How do you get those scenes so perfect?
26:46The skirt's fabulous, but the top is so unresolved.
26:51As cool as the technique is, I needed more time to really work with the pin tucking.
27:04That split gave me life.
27:05If you see this dress, you would know that it's made by me.
27:08I love the pleating pattern on my waist.
27:11I love the fact that from the back, you just see that V.
27:16It's just fresh and new, and that's everything that I want to do with fashion.
27:19I love the fact that I use the right side of the material and the wrong side of the material and add this color blocking illusion.
27:33But I don't like the side piece.
27:35It looks heavy.
27:36It's not moving, and it just looks stuck.
27:39It's not cute at all.
27:40Designers, thank you for your award-winning runway.
27:55You will all receive a critique this week, except for one of you.
28:00And that designer is safe.
28:02So who's it going to be?
28:03I don't know, but I'll take it.
28:05I'll take it.
28:06This week, the safe designer is...
28:10Helen.
28:12We will see you next week.
28:13You can leave the runway.
28:14Thank you so much.
28:15Good luck, guys.
28:19Designers, one of you is the winner of this week's challenge, and one of you will be going home tonight.
28:30Fabio, we're going to start with you.
28:32Tell us about your signature technique.
28:34My signature technique is pleating, and I just went full out.
28:37I feel like a client that will come to me for a dress knows my aesthetic and wants to stand out.
28:41Well, this is a fabric from a dress that I made, Amy Schumer, on one of her first major red carpets.
28:48You did a spectacular job today, and you should be really proud.
28:52I like that it nods to the future.
28:54Whilst these dresses all look very contemporary, this one looks like what we might be looking at in a year or two from now.
29:00I particularly love the back on your dress, the way that you've done your pleating and your seaming.
29:05The front of the dress, there's something about the neckline that is going to touch dowdy.
29:09Oh.
29:10What I like the most about this, it's not what everybody else would be wearing.
29:14I just think you did a great job, Fabio.
29:17And by the way, I knew this was Fabio as soon as it walked down.
29:19Yes?
29:20Okay, that's the most important part for me.
29:21Yes.
29:22Hi, Ken.
29:23Tell us about your signature technique.
29:24Well, I wanted to show my sculpting skills.
29:27The fabric has a lot of stretch in it, so I fused it to actually create a structure, which you see here.
29:34Can you turn around for me, please?
29:36I think you handled the fabric very well, but I just wish it didn't have that thing.
29:42It's not really contributing anything to the dress.
29:45This side piece is pulling at your tailoring.
29:49If you're going to do this kind of a dress, you need to start with a fabric that does that for you, or you've got to rethink your design.
29:55You like you with a very deep v-neck.
29:58Sometimes you give me a beautiful v-neck, and this time it's like all kind of like wavering and weird.
30:04It just doesn't say red carpet to me, but I love the material.
30:08I get that you wanted to bring a romantic, modern woman.
30:13I don't think you went far enough in the romance.
30:16It doesn't feel finished, and it doesn't feel like a signature dress.
30:21Stanley!
30:22Hi!
30:23Tell us about your signature technique.
30:24I wanted to create a really big skirt, because there's going to be on the red carpet.
30:28I have to make an impact.
30:29So, we had a really heavy fusible interfacing that I fused into each panel, and then used boning to create the curves on the bottom of the hand.
30:36As an actress who would be walking the red carpet, I feel like it's not all about the dress.
30:43I love that it would let your subject shine.
30:46It's such a good grasp, but it's very, very simple.
30:50As a design competition, what we've been telling everybody is to really push and make a statement.
30:55I'm not sure about how the straps have been sewn on, but they do add a detail that is needed.
31:00My thing was, of course, I always think about, you know, the twins.
31:05There would be no way someone like me could fit that dress.
31:08If I was to make it for your body, it would be fit to your, um, girls.
31:13Okay.
31:15Boobies or no boobies, I think it looks just like a very expensive dress.
31:19Even though, you know, it's a little short in the front, but I love it. Congratulations.
31:23Joshua?
31:24Well, I worked with this really great bonded fabric that was two tones on each side.
31:28And for my technique, I chose pin tucking based off the bodice.
31:32I love the colors of this dress.
31:34But there's something about the juxtaposition of the pleating and the seeming on the skirt
31:40that makes it look like two completely different designs.
31:43It's a lot going on in one look.
31:45You've body contour, you've pleating.
31:47She has wings, and then she has this big force mane to the side.
31:51The high-low is not helping.
31:53It kind of made it a little bit trashy.
31:56I would say, you know, stick to a story.
31:59Okay.
32:00Because I think here, it's a lot.
32:01I couldn't figure out if I loved this dress or I hated it.
32:04But I will say this.
32:06If we're judging based on your signature technique, I think I have to love it.
32:10Because you definitely showed technique pretty flawlessly.
32:13So I appreciate that.
32:15Hello, Anthony.
32:16Can you tell us about your signature technique, please?
32:18Well, my signature technique, I used sculpting.
32:21I was so happy when we went to Zach Pozen's place.
32:25As soon as I saw this beautiful silk vial, I was like, I'm ready.
32:29Hi, Anthony.
32:30Hi, Isaac and Norman.
32:31Oh.
32:32Hello.
32:34You know what?
32:35This dress is really great, I have to say.
32:37And the color is so pretty.
32:40Can you give it a little spin for me?
32:42It's such a gestural dress.
32:43It just feels like a brush stroke.
32:45It feels so easy and light.
32:47I think you nailed this challenge.
32:50And you are very hard, Jonathan.
32:52It's fluid.
32:53It's effortless.
32:54It's vintage.
32:55It's not groundbreaking.
32:56But maybe the color is what is the refresh.
32:58You made me proud.
33:00Well done.
33:01Darling, you are giving us the narrative, the epilogue, the entire stage performance.
33:08Broadway opening night, Oscar red carpet.
33:11My breasts would look gorgeous in this dress.
33:14I mean, from every angle, I'm dying over here.
33:19It is just fantastic.
33:20Fantastic.
33:22Hi, Edmund.
33:23Tell us about your signature technique.
33:24My signature technique was ruffles.
33:26I wanted to create something that really captures the eye when she's on the red carpet.
33:30I am always one for a ruffle and a flower.
33:33I think it's tricky with all that information going on the top to then go into a brocade
33:39in the bottom.
33:40I would have used the same fabric going all the way down.
33:44God bless you for trying to do like this rose fantasy.
33:47But something about the way it finished really bugs me.
33:50You took such ravishing fabric and made it look so incredibly inexpensive.
33:55I'm going to tell you a little story about me and my husband.
33:59Who do not fight about anything except this one frickin' throw pillow on our bed.
34:06That I love and that he hates.
34:09And to me, this looks like a throw pillow that was just attached to the bodice.
34:14I think you have to think about the movement and the placement on the body.
34:17In turn, you didn't need an exposed zipper.
34:21It doesn't give it edge.
34:22If you're going to go with something as bold as that, like that's enough.
34:27I'm sorry, I hate it.
34:28Really?
34:29It's like, instead of two donuts a night, if I'm going to the Oscars, I would sacrifice
34:34and do one donut a night.
34:36And then you cover me up.
34:37I would die.
34:38Thank you, Edmund.
34:39All right, thank you.
34:40Designers, you've given us a lot to think about this week.
34:43Please wait in the backstage lounge and we will call you back soon.
34:52Hey, Bells.
34:53Hey.
34:54What's up?
34:55Hi.
34:56Can I tell you guys what I think and know when you're offended?
34:57No.
34:58Yes.
34:59Bottom, bottom, top, bottom, top, top?
35:01Yeah, you got it.
35:02Really?
35:03Mm-hmm.
35:04I was in good company.
35:05You were in good company with all of us.
35:07We worked our asses off.
35:08Yeah.
35:09I agree.
35:10So don't talk about it like that.
35:11No, I mean, if you're going to be in the top, I was in good company.
35:13I mean, it's no shade.
35:14It's just, that's just how I feel.
35:16I mean, that's a little shady.
35:17No, it's not shady at all.
35:18I mean, three of them are in the bottom.
35:20No, I'm just saying.
35:21So insulting.
35:22Me?
35:23It's kind of insulting.
35:25I'm not going to play this game.
35:27So, Zach, I think touring your work room really gave the designers some inspiration,
35:33so thank you for that.
35:34Absolutely.
35:35Let's go through the looks we liked.
35:37I'd like to start with Stanley.
35:38I loved it.
35:39I loved how clean the lines were.
35:42I thought it was very understated.
35:43It was absolutely spot on, but for a design competition, when we're putting it against
35:48everyone else, it was just a little too simple.
35:51I think that stood mostly on the strength of how beautiful the fabric was.
35:56This was a red dress, and a good one, but it was just that.
36:03Let's move on to Anthony's dress.
36:06Out of all the dresses this evening, I really thought that it just gave that glamour that
36:12every woman would just die for.
36:15And that fabric and that colour.
36:17He was so smart with fabric.
36:19He went for file, and he did what file wanted to do.
36:23And it was not random drapery.
36:25It was specific drapery that set off her anatomy.
36:28This was like a beautiful glass of blue milk.
36:36Let's move on to Fabio.
36:37I thought this was spectacular, very different, very progressive.
36:40I just think that's so great to see a designer really stick to his DNA.
36:44It's the anti-red carpet dress, red carpet dress, and it worked.
36:48It just was special because it stood out.
36:51I wonder if we should award that because it is so singular and so different from the competition.
36:57I want to talk about the least successful looks now.
37:03I am so disappointed in Ken this week.
37:05I didn't think this was Ken, because I'm sorry, there's no way that he looked at that and thought,
37:10well, that's good.
37:11It was all bunched in weird ways.
37:13There was no deliberate thought there.
37:14It was just like, oh, I've got to put something on there.
37:16They had a lot of fabric to choose from.
37:18I thought it was very interesting that they went directly for, like, a stretchy jacquard.
37:24Weird.
37:25I mean, I think a little intimidating.
37:27They're coming into my studio.
37:28Of course.
37:29When has luxury fabrics been intimidating to an all-star designer?
37:35I think with Joshua, there's a real taste barometer.
37:39I just don't understand the design.
37:41It was as if it was disco on the top, wedding reception on the bottom.
37:45Yes.
37:46But if we're supposed to be judging based on a technique, he definitely gave us technique.
37:51Neat.
37:52Listen.
37:53In fashion, it's not how hard you work.
37:54It's what it looks like.
37:57I just fell with Edmund.
37:59I don't think he's found his voice yet.
38:01Really, I can't get past the throw pillow aspect of it.
38:04He's been having a lot of off weeks.
38:06Rosie, what do you think?
38:07I don't want to kill the man any more than I already have.
38:10It's like I already went...
38:12I don't want to go...
38:13We've made our decision.
38:18We all agree.
38:19Norman thinks so, too.
38:21He agrees, too.
38:22Well, I see him nodding.
38:23Exactly.
38:24Okay, let's bring them back out.
38:30Designers, one of you is the winner of this week's challenge.
38:34And one of you will be eliminated tonight.
38:38Anthony, Stanley, and Fabio, you had the highest scores this week, but only one of you will
38:48become the fashion designer for an original Lifetime movie event.
38:52Stanley, your designers put you through to next week.
38:57You can leave the runway.
38:58Thank you, judges.
39:00Bye.
39:01And that leaves Anthony or Fabio for this week's win.
39:05The winning designer is...
39:11Zach, do you want to do the honors?
39:13The winning designer is Anthony.
39:20Congratulations to me.
39:21Congratulations.
39:22And congratulations, Fabio.
39:23We loved your design.
39:25So you can leave the runway.
39:27Beautiful work.
39:28Nice to meet you.
39:30These things escape me, but I think I won the challenge.
39:32Aww.
39:33I won.
39:34Yes!
39:35Yes!
39:36Yes!
39:37The prize for this challenge, you get to dress a star for a Lifetime movie event.
39:42And I'm super excited about it.
39:44Oh, thank you.
39:45Sit, sit, sit.
39:46Happy.
39:47What do you mean this week?
39:48Right.
39:49Ken, you had a low score, but you are safe.
39:51Thank you so much.
39:52You can leave the runway.
39:53Thank you, guys.
39:57Joshua and Edmund, we know that you're both talented designers, but only one of you can
40:02stay.
40:04The eliminated designer is...
40:06Joshua.
40:07Edmund, we will see you next week.
40:09Wow.
40:10You can leave the runway.
40:12It's been a pleasure, man.
40:13Yep.
40:14Joshua, I want to say thank you for joining us on All Stars.
40:29We love you, and we wish you all the best.
40:31Thank you, darling.
40:32Yeah.
40:33Take care.
40:34Thanks.
40:35Bye, guys.
40:36Bye, Joshua.
40:37Bye, Joshua.
40:38You win some, you lose some.
40:40I'm a tough cookie.
40:41I can take it.
40:43Bye, y'all.
40:44We're over there with some shoes.
40:45I've had a good time, a good ride, and I've done some really impressive work.
40:49You too, darling.
40:50No, no, no, no, hugs.
40:51Please don't.
40:52Aw.
40:53Have fun, work hard, be creative.
40:55Keep doing your thing, man.
40:56So, Helen, rock it out.
40:58Leave those shoes for me.
41:00You have to just trust your gut and go with it.
41:04All you see is little chiclet rainbows from the shoes on the ground.
41:07Ding dong.
41:08The witches dig it.
41:09I never give up, and I think that that's what this show is about.
41:14Being brave and being strong and overcoming the obstacles that come your way.
41:18That's really what it comes down to.
41:24Next, on Project Runway All Stars.
41:27Project Runway All Stars has covered every style of fashion, but there's one style we've never tackled.
41:33Music performance outfits for the stage.
41:36Dum-dum-dum.
41:37It's a face-off.
41:38It's a face-off.
41:39I don't give a that it's head-to-head today.
41:41I want to win.
41:42This adult diaper effect looks like she's hot in the ass.
41:48Perhaps rock isn't really your forte.
41:51Damn.
41:52I don't think that it's right for stage.
41:54It looks like a country star going to, like, a bar mitzvah.
41:57Isaac, you're crazy.
41:59.
42:04.
42:22.
42:23.
