00:00:01Previously on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:00:04Your challenge is to create a resort-wear look inspired by the game of Candy Crush.
00:00:11Nina will really respond to tailoring.
00:00:13They're doing a mountain look, but it doesn't actually have to be the actual piece of athletic equipment.
00:00:18Helen Keller can see that this man is struggling with this scuba suit.
00:00:22Designers, four of you will be going through to next week to the nation's capital to receive a very special challenge.
00:00:33Wow.
00:00:34I love this.
00:00:36I really wish that I would have had it for the 4th of July.
00:00:39The back of this is everything.
00:00:41My mouth started watering.
00:00:43I like the taste on a sarong with the jumpsuit.
00:00:46You nailed it with this look.
00:00:48It feels like juicy.
00:00:50The winning design is...
00:00:53Kip.
00:00:55Congratulations.
00:00:57The shorts make it feel moderate.
00:00:59Where's the color?
00:01:00She looks like a nurse.
00:01:02When I think of apres ski, I'm thinking more of what that woman's wearing after skiing.
00:01:08The crotch looks like she's packing a penis.
00:01:12The designer eliminated tonight is...
00:01:15Edmund.
00:01:16This is Project Runway All-Stars.
00:01:21It's a gorgeous morning and we're all dressed in our little suits looking like a boy band.
00:01:38And we're headed to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
00:01:42It must be monumental if we're here in Washington, D.C.
00:01:46Oh, wow.
00:01:47Oh, there's Alyssa.
00:01:48Oh.
00:01:49Hey.
00:01:51I'm just overwhelmed to be here.
00:01:53I'm just trying to soak everything in and just trying to enjoy the moment for what it is because we never know what comes next.
00:01:59Hi, All-Stars.
00:02:00Hello.
00:02:01Hello.
00:02:02Welcome to Washington, D.C. and the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
00:02:07You are the final four designers of this season of Project Runway All-Stars.
00:02:14So, congratulations.
00:02:17It's amazing to be in the final four.
00:02:19And I've come a long way in this competition and I don't want to fail.
00:02:22So, it's really important to me personally to move forward.
00:02:25Here at the Smithsonian, there are over three million artifacts of national significance.
00:02:32Your final challenge is to create a six-piece collection.
00:02:39Oh, Jesus.
00:02:40Designed to make your own mark in American fashion history.
00:02:45Wait.
00:02:46You heard me, right?
00:02:47So is the four of us?
00:02:48Yeah.
00:02:52Alyssa makes us aware that this is the challenge that determines who wins the whole entire situation.
00:03:00Contain yourself.
00:03:01This is the final challenge.
00:03:03This is it.
00:03:04Like, I'm getting goosebumps.
00:03:07Well, we did say the season was bigger than ever.
00:03:10So, you will be shopping where Mood shops, Mood's very own warehouse.
00:03:15Wow.
00:03:16You'll have $2,000 budget and more fabric choices than ever before.
00:03:22But, only one week to finish your collection.
00:03:26You will be sketching inside the Smithsonian.
00:03:29And they have dozens of iconic pieces from the past.
00:03:32So, use them as inspiration to make your mark in the future.
00:03:36Hmm.
00:03:37In addition to the grand prize, the museum's curators will be including one of the pieces from the winning designer in the permanent collection.
00:03:47Oh my God.
00:03:48Wow.
00:03:49The permanent collection at the Smithsonian Museum.
00:03:52Can you imagine?
00:03:54I would take a vacation every summer to come see my damn dress.
00:03:58Every summer.
00:03:59And I've never seen Anthony speechless.
00:04:01So, you know it's a big deal.
00:04:03We haven't either.
00:04:05Have a great week.
00:04:07And I will see you on the runway.
00:04:09Oh, and there's one more thing.
00:04:10Oh, Jesus.
00:04:11Your models are here for their casting.
00:04:14Oh.
00:04:15Oh, nice.
00:04:16And they're waiting for you on the roof.
00:04:18Oh.
00:04:19Oh, okay.
00:04:20Thank you so much.
00:04:21Have fun.
00:04:22I don't think my mouth is ever going to close again.
00:04:24It is.
00:04:28The final four.
00:04:29I'm actually part of this.
00:04:30I'm making a collection.
00:04:31Link.
00:04:32I'm so excited.
00:04:38Wow.
00:04:39Mm-hmm.
00:04:40Walking through the Smithsonian Museum, we're standing in front of the iconic American flag.
00:04:44This inspired the song.
00:04:46That our flag was still there.
00:04:48It is absolutely breathtaking.
00:04:50Wow.
00:04:51This is amazing.
00:04:52And I know it was all sewn by hand.
00:04:54I'm floored.
00:04:55It's so inspiring.
00:04:57Ugh.
00:04:58Look at Nancy's.
00:04:59And then there's Eleanor.
00:05:01Being in the room that houses all the gowns from the First Lady.
00:05:06Mm-mm-mm.
00:05:07I mean, it is stunning.
00:05:10Oh, look.
00:05:11There.
00:05:12There it is.
00:05:13Right there for you.
00:05:14Shell.
00:05:15Oh, Michelle's gown.
00:05:16Oh, but the bead work is stunning.
00:05:18I mean.
00:05:19Oh, it is.
00:05:20It is gorgeous.
00:05:21Much more stunning in person.
00:05:22Yeah.
00:05:23I'm paying attention to everything.
00:05:25For a piece to live permanently in the collection of the Smithsonian, I want elements from the past,
00:05:31but transported into the future.
00:05:33The actual inspiration for my collection is my grandma.
00:05:35So I want to have something that is classic in idea, but also transported into this modern take.
00:05:41I want those two collection ideas to be very prominent.
00:05:44Jackie Kennedy.
00:05:46I am truly inspired by Jackie O's style.
00:05:49I've seen that dress in pictures, so to see it right here in front of me is just inspiring me.
00:05:54I just start sketching.
00:05:55What I'm going to try and do is take different snippets from each exhibit and try to form a collection.
00:06:00It's sort of my take on Americana, being an African American designer.
00:06:07Look at these hats.
00:06:08Yeah.
00:06:09Hats and gloves.
00:06:10Oh, I believe in a hat and a glove.
00:06:12Harriet Tubman.
00:06:13This is her personal clothing.
00:06:16Wow.
00:06:17I see this amazing bow tie and handkerchief that Harriet Tubman wore.
00:06:21It's a very powerful piece, but at the same time, it's real elegant.
00:06:24And I think I want to do something out of my collection based off of that.
00:06:28I'm a very powerful fashion designer, but I need to bring that feminine side.
00:06:33I also want to pull certain Victorian elements and incorporate it in my collection.
00:06:38Sometime I could be a little too ready to wear, and I want my collection to be a little bit elevated.
00:06:43Oh, this is dope.
00:06:46I never knew it was made from sequins.
00:06:51My collection is telling a story.
00:06:54Audrey Hepburn lived long enough to become Rihanna.
00:06:57It's really a celebration of classic styling as well as modern.
00:07:01I want to design a collection of non-traditional ideas of evening wear, like jumpsuits and possible separates.
00:07:07Because I know everybody thinks that I'm going to do just gowns, but no, not just gowns.
00:07:12One of our garments is going to be placed in here.
00:07:15Can you imagine?
00:07:16Yeah.
00:07:17Like, literally.
00:07:18Permanent.
00:07:19This is a really cool trip.
00:07:21And now we get to go to the roof of the museum and cast our models.
00:07:24Here they come.
00:07:28The right casting can make your collection, and the wrong casting can break it.
00:07:32She's beautiful.
00:07:33Oh, yes, God.
00:07:34I'm going to pull a tiara.
00:07:36The biggest thing that I'm looking for right now in this model casting is a presence.
00:07:41I want a very powerful woman that represents me as a fashion designer and represent my collection.
00:07:47So I need them to bring attitude to the runway.
00:07:50I'm going to go with Shia.
00:07:51I know your man.
00:07:52Mm-hmm.
00:07:53Tasha.
00:07:54Damn you, bitch.
00:07:55Ashley.
00:07:56Oh, that's what I wanted.
00:07:58Selena.
00:07:59Jen.
00:08:00Well then, Nicola, last but not least, it's us, girl.
00:08:04Okay, guys.
00:08:05We got our models.
00:08:06Off to the mood warehouse.
00:08:07Let's get some shopping.
00:08:08Oh, my God.
00:08:09Got it.
00:08:10Do it.
00:08:11Hey, Washington, D.C.
00:08:19The mood warehouse, fellas.
00:08:20Options, options, options.
00:08:21Our warehouse of fabric options.
00:08:23Ugh.
00:08:24We have one hour to shop at the mood warehouse, which is very different from the store.
00:08:28There's so many bolts of fabric.
00:08:29There's so many textures.
00:08:30There's so many colors.
00:08:31There's so much to take in.
00:08:32It's a dream house to me.
00:08:34Look at all this fabric, yo.
00:08:35It's huge.
00:08:36There's a feather department.
00:08:37There's a notion department.
00:08:38There's a leather department.
00:08:40All right, so where are we going?
00:08:41This is the last challenge, and this is the challenge that counts the most.
00:08:45I like this, though.
00:08:46The first thing I see is this gold brocade, and it has like a very, very subtle pale blue
00:08:53and a cream in it.
00:08:54I'm known for doing very dark clothes, but I want to take some of this historical feeling
00:09:00that you will probably see in gowns and put it into separates or jumpsuits and add that
00:09:05Ken Lawrence stamp to them.
00:09:07Yo, let's hold that right there, too.
00:09:08Okay.
00:09:09I like this navy.
00:09:10Black navy.
00:09:11I want a different tan.
00:09:12What I'm trying to do is find five colors that are really cohesive that can go together
00:09:16well and tell my story.
00:09:17I'm starting with a navy, a tan, an ivory, a white, and black.
00:09:22I need four of this.
00:09:24This one.
00:09:25Let me see the...
00:09:26I want a few textiles to have their own moments in this, so I'm looking for a print
00:09:31that's going to be really interesting.
00:09:32And I find this bird print that it's really beautiful.
00:09:35And I feel like taking this as my initial point will help me bring in the additional
00:09:39colors into the collection.
00:09:40You're picking my favorite fabric.
00:09:41Oh, yeah?
00:09:42Good.
00:09:43Yeah.
00:09:44All right, guys.
00:09:45We have 15 minutes.
00:09:46Oh, I need paint.
00:09:47Where are your silken wool, sweetheart?
00:09:51It is difficult trying to narrow down your fabric choices in the midst of this warehouse where
00:09:57the sky is the limit.
00:09:58But that's pretty.
00:09:59So I find this beautiful cobalt blue neoprene, but it's faced with velvet.
00:10:05And I'm thinking, hmm, this could be fun.
00:10:08Are those ostrichs?
00:10:10I am gathering all the feathers and paint that I possibly can.
00:10:14This is going to be a celebratory collection for sure.
00:10:17Hey, guys.
00:10:18That's time.
00:10:19Hold on.
00:10:20Let me go through my stuff.
00:10:21I think we did good.
00:10:22Thanks, Smooth.
00:10:24You're welcome.
00:10:25Take care.
00:10:30Oh.
00:10:31Oh.
00:10:32Oh.
00:10:33Rolling racks and stuff.
00:10:34Feel all important.
00:10:35Oh.
00:10:36We have a week to put this together.
00:10:39So I'm actually really excited because we can focus on putting on a good show.
00:10:43We can really develop all six looks to be the best six looks that we've ever created.
00:10:48Are you smocking?
00:10:49You know it.
00:10:51I want to test my techniques, test my smocking, work with my muslin, and I worry about my fabrics
00:10:56tomorrow.
00:10:57That's cold-blooded.
00:10:59I think you're the first.
00:11:00This is the first time in history that smocking has been called cold-blooded.
00:11:04Are you nervous, Ken?
00:11:05Slightly.
00:11:06Why?
00:11:07You're so talented.
00:11:09No, seriously.
00:11:10And to be completely honest with you, I didn't know my talent until...
00:11:11Coming on to the show.
00:11:12After my season.
00:11:13This last season that just went off.
00:11:14I made it to the finale on my first season of Project Royal All-Stars, and I couldn't
00:11:15be defeated without making this part again.
00:11:17I'm going to focus on time management and editing so I can have the perfect collection.
00:11:22I'm trying to get as many patterns made as possible.
00:11:23Yes.
00:11:24Sewing really isn't the hard part.
00:11:25This is the headache right here.
00:11:26I know.
00:11:27I want to win because who wouldn't want to be the first gay black man to win some part
00:11:31of the Project Runway brand?
00:11:32Have you lost your mind?
00:11:33Everybody wants to be the first season.
00:11:34I know.
00:11:35I know.
00:11:36I know.
00:11:37I know.
00:11:38I know.
00:11:39I know.
00:11:40I know.
00:11:41I know.
00:11:42I know.
00:11:43I know.
00:11:44I know.
00:11:45I know.
00:11:46I know.
00:11:47I know.
00:11:48I know.
00:11:49I know.
00:11:50I know.
00:11:51Everybody wants to be the first something.
00:11:52Hey, guys.
00:11:53We have one hour left.
00:11:55Wait a minute.
00:11:56Did I cut this wrong?
00:11:58I'm thinking a lot about Willie Smith because this is sort of like a defining moment for
00:12:02me to just be out there.
00:12:03We definitely should be thinking of him.
00:12:05Yeah.
00:12:06One of my biggest inspirations in fashion was Willie Smith.
00:12:08He's a black American designer.
00:12:10And he plays a big part of who I am as far as a designer.
00:12:13And so I really want to make a stamp in this whole world of fashion.
00:12:15And I think winning Project Runway All-Stars is a step in the right direction for me.
00:12:19It'd be really cool.
00:12:20Really cool.
00:12:21Really cool.
00:12:22Okay, guys.
00:12:23The work day has ended.
00:12:24It's time to go.
00:12:25No!
00:12:26Time to wrap this blessing up.
00:12:29At the end of the day, I have all of my patterns draped and ready to be cut out for tomorrow.
00:12:36I've struggled before with time management, but on this particular challenge, I feel like
00:12:39I'm doing pretty good.
00:12:40Come on.
00:12:41Come on.
00:12:42Oh.
00:12:43No, man.
00:12:44Hi.
00:12:45Oh, God.
00:12:46A little so.
00:12:47Come on in.
00:12:48Not today.
00:12:49No.
00:12:50Come on in and join me boys.
00:12:51It's been good.
00:12:52This is Project Runway All-Stars, so you know there's something up her sleeve.
00:13:07Too good to be true.
00:13:08Oh, no.
00:13:09Why did I eat this morning?
00:13:10Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars, you should expect the unexpected.
00:13:14Ooh, I feel my knees buckling.
00:13:15Just got real real.
00:13:16Designers, designers, as you know, on All-Stars, you should expect the unexpected.
00:13:35Mmm.
00:13:36It's an actual twist, like the knife twisting in your heart situation.
00:13:40Breathe.
00:13:41I'm trying.
00:13:42I'm trying.
00:13:43I'm trying.
00:13:44I'm trying.
00:13:45There will be an exclusive presentation before the final runway for you to show your signature
00:13:53look that represents the theme of your entire collection.
00:13:57A panel of judges will give input and steer you in the right direction, and this will determine
00:14:03which three of you will go on to present your final collections.
00:14:09Ooh, I feel my knees buckling.
00:14:11Personally, I'm a little upset because I was excited that all four of us was going to go
00:14:16on to the finale, but it wouldn't be Project Runway All-Stars without a twist.
00:14:20So this exclusive presentation is tomorrow, and so you have the rest of the day today to
00:14:27work on your signature look.
00:14:28Okay.
00:14:29Your mentor, Ann, will be here later to help you refine your look that brings you one step closer to the final runway.
00:14:37You got this!
00:14:38So make us proud, and good luck.
00:14:43All righty.
00:14:44We had to complete a whole look today.
00:14:48Yeah.
00:14:49But the thing is, though, out of all six looks, it needs to be that one look that really-
00:14:53Tears your story.
00:14:54Tears your story.
00:14:55Tears your story and represents.
00:14:56Which is the one you obviously was going to work on last.
00:14:58Which is the one you would have worked on last.
00:15:00Exactly.
00:15:01Damn, I haven't even made that pattern yet.
00:15:04Oh, God.
00:15:05Why am I shaking so hard?
00:15:07Cause just got real real.
00:15:09Dang.
00:15:10Today I was going to make all of my pants and sleeves and, like, elements to the collection.
00:15:16That's just completely going out of the window.
00:15:18I need to refocus so I can make sure I have a great garment to walk the runway that best represents my collection for tomorrow.
00:15:25I am going to stay true to my guns and give that Ken Lawrence signature tailoring because I'm really good with that.
00:15:31It's going to be brocade at the top and the white ivory pant to add that flamboyance and femininity to my design.
00:15:38I had such a good night's sleep last night.
00:15:41If it's the chance of winning, do the one that you think is going to-
00:15:44That's the thing.
00:15:45That's the one that's going to take more than 12 hours to get it right.
00:15:50Really?
00:15:51I mean, if I'm going to go all out, I have to show the small king.
00:15:54If they want a strong signature look, I have to go with the small king because in my mind, the closing look is usually where I am.
00:16:00The closing look is usually where you finish with the bang and I don't have a choice.
00:16:03Like, I want to move forward.
00:16:04I want to be able to show this entire collection.
00:16:06So if what it takes is me working my ass off today, then that's what I'm going to do.
00:16:13I'm creating a gown out of silk organza.
00:16:15It's going to have a leather collar, a leather belting detail.
00:16:18They're definitely going to see Stanley.
00:16:20Oh, how cute.
00:16:21Right?
00:16:22That's leather.
00:16:23At the end of the day, people are going to do whatever they want to do, but I still have to be Anthony L. Williams because being the best Anthony L. Williams is what has sustained me my whole entire life.
00:16:33So I'm making a beautiful gown that if it is my last gown, it will be a gown that I can be proud of.
00:16:40Pretty color.
00:16:42Hi, designers.
00:16:43Hi, Ann.
00:16:44It's great to see you four here.
00:16:46I hear that Alyssa was here a little bit earlier this morning and threw a little bit of twist into things.
00:16:55I don't want you to panic.
00:16:57I'm really here to help and I'm really looking forward to seeing your signature looks.
00:17:01So let's see what you've got.
00:17:03Hi, Ann.
00:17:04Hi, Stanley.
00:17:05How are you doing?
00:17:06Nervous.
00:17:07I know.
00:17:08You guys are all really, I can feel everyone's on edge today.
00:17:10Yeah.
00:17:11It kind of caught me off guard because I had a game plan going into the whole thing.
00:17:14I had a little collection.
00:17:15All right.
00:17:16What's your theme?
00:17:17I was playing a lot with volume and shapes and minimalism and I'm just going to have a leather belt and the gloves.
00:17:23Okay.
00:17:24I think gloves can go costuming.
00:17:25I just think you should be really careful with that.
00:17:27Okay.
00:17:28You have a challenge a bit with the color, which is a very tasteful, elegant, modern color, but it doesn't automatically stand out for that.
00:17:33Yeah.
00:17:34So it's really going to be about your tailoring.
00:17:35Mm-hmm.
00:17:36Your finishes.
00:17:37Yes.
00:17:38Your styling.
00:17:39Think about those gloves.
00:17:40No, I won't.
00:17:41Thank you, Ann.
00:17:42All right, thanks.
00:17:43Ann's not crazy about the gloves, but the other leather accents, she says I'm onto something.
00:17:46So just edit, edit, edit, and just keep, you know, but keep working.
00:17:49But she likes what I'm doing so far.
00:17:51This looks fascinating.
00:17:53What is your concept for the collection?
00:17:55I wanted to play with contrast, contrast in proportions, contrast in colors, contrast in modern versus classic.
00:18:01Like taking and smoking like a very classic, homey kind of technique and then making it high fashion.
00:18:07So I feel like that's the thread of the collection.
00:18:09It's fascinating technique.
00:18:10I love it.
00:18:12But I am worried about the...
00:18:13Oh yeah, no, this is...
00:18:14No one wants more bulk.
00:18:15Yeah, definitely.
00:18:16But it's all going to be determined by how high I go on the waist on the skirt and I'm just waiting to see it on the girl.
00:18:21You know that this look is really where you want to leave the judges wanting more.
00:18:24Right.
00:18:25You want to look at this look and they want to say, wow, where's the rest of this collection going to be?
00:18:27Right.
00:18:28Because otherwise, you don't get to make the collection.
00:18:30I know.
00:18:31And I really want to see the rest of this collection.
00:18:32Oh my god, Ann.
00:18:33This was the first time for me.
00:18:35You know why?
00:18:36I think you're finally letting your freak flag fly.
00:18:38And it's still grandma in a way.
00:18:39Like, my grandma's still here, but she's becoming modern.
00:18:42She looks like a hip New York girl.
00:18:44I like her.
00:18:45I'm not a fan of Fabio's look at all.
00:18:47The proportions are off.
00:18:49I don't understand his vision.
00:18:51Hi, Anthony.
00:18:52Hello, Ann.
00:18:53How's it going?
00:18:54You know, shake up the beginning of the day.
00:18:56Right.
00:18:57It kind of changes the whole...
00:18:58Nothing you guys can't handle.
00:18:59Listen, we're all stars.
00:19:00They can't shake us.
00:19:01They can't break us.
00:19:02Exactly.
00:19:03So, tell me about the theme of your collection.
00:19:04So, my theme is kind of like if Audrey Hepburn lived long enough to become Rihanna.
00:19:10I love it.
00:19:11Taking in all those classic silhouettes, but making them more modern, more sexy, and taking some risks
00:19:15within the design and the color and even the fabric choices.
00:19:18I love that it's so specific.
00:19:19Yes.
00:19:20Okay.
00:19:21So, I do still see it red carpet.
00:19:23Red carpet, as much as we all love it, is not known for being fashion forward.
00:19:26You're going to have to show them that you have a fashion forward flair, and you've shown them before.
00:19:31But, you know, if you don't show them this tomorrow, you never get to show them again.
00:19:35I know.
00:19:36So, Audrey Hepburn turned Rihanna.
00:19:37We need a little more Rihanna in this gown.
00:19:39Okay.
00:19:40I'm going to look at it again and see if I can put a little more Rih Rih in there.
00:19:42I love it.
00:19:43My theme in this collection is I want to play up on the Victorian expat, but make it
00:19:47a little bit modern.
00:19:48She's tailored in that power woman that I love, but I want to add the romance, and I
00:19:54think that's what the judges have been wanting to see for me, the more feminine side.
00:19:58Mm-hmm.
00:19:59This is very romantic and a big flourish for you.
00:20:01Yes, yes.
00:20:02This is like a line I've not seen from you before.
00:20:03Yes, it is.
00:20:04This look, I was going to tell you, needs a little more drama.
00:20:06I don't have the train.
00:20:07I have a sketch.
00:20:08You're going to have a train on this?
00:20:09Yes.
00:20:10Mm-hmm.
00:20:11I'm kind of battling if I wanted to drape through the front and come through the back,
00:20:16or if the focus is just on the back of it.
00:20:19We just want to make sure this look stands out on the runway because it's your last chance
00:20:23to show your whole collection.
00:20:24Mm-hmm.
00:20:25Good luck, Ken.
00:20:26Thank you so much.
00:20:27I do like Ken's aesthetic, and I do like that he's trying to do something new, but I feel
00:20:32like he doesn't have a complementary color, or maybe something that would, like, heighten
00:20:36the contrast in the collection, so it would bring it back to edgy again.
00:20:39Designers, I can feel the tension in the room.
00:20:42Mm-hmm.
00:20:43It's clear that you're all nervous.
00:20:44Not all of you have crystallized the concept of your collection.
00:20:48Remember, this has to be the look that will make the judges want to see more.
00:20:53Good luck, guys.
00:20:55I need to really pump up the sex.
00:21:04I'm thinking that the open back speaks more to the look that I feel Rihanna would appreciate.
00:21:10Oh, I like where that's going, though.
00:21:12Yeah.
00:21:13I love the fact that Anthony is using this neoprene fabric because it's not something
00:21:16that he's used to using, and he's going out of his comfort zone.
00:21:19The only thing is, Anthony loves to drape, and neoprene doesn't drape that well.
00:21:22Baby, hold on.
00:21:25Ann tells me that she likes the direction I'm going in, but at the same time, she tells
00:21:29me to add the drama.
00:21:31I'm struggling with the material.
00:21:33The sleeve and the train that I sketched out and I have in my head is looking a little
00:21:38costume-ish.
00:21:39I can't do the sleeve and that train.
00:21:42Anthony, what's your fitting?
00:21:43That's what I was going to do.
00:21:44That's what I was going to do because I can't do right now.
00:21:48Hey.
00:21:49Hello, y'all.
00:21:50Hi, gorgeous.
00:21:51Critique with Ann went really well today for the first time.
00:21:54She loves everything.
00:21:55For the first time.
00:21:56For the first time.
00:21:57I love the skirt.
00:21:58I love the idea of this really 3D volume with the smocking.
00:22:03And I am going to take Ann's advice and I'm going to pull the top in.
00:22:07I'm going to put a strap in the back so I can give her a better defined waistline.
00:22:11I don't mind it being oversized because that's what I was going for.
00:22:17It's unusual.
00:22:18It's innovative without being avant-garde to the point that you think it's weird.
00:22:23I feel like I found a great balance with this.
00:22:26That's really cute.
00:22:27I'm going to drop it just a little bit.
00:22:30This needs to go a little more in here.
00:22:34It looks way sexier to me.
00:22:36I love the sleeve.
00:22:37I love it too.
00:22:38I have the bodice basically already sewn.
00:22:41Everything's fitting perfectly.
00:22:43But right now I'm battling between adding the drama and taking away the sleeve.
00:22:48Or making it a little bit more simple and keep the sleeve and take away the drama.
00:22:52I have no idea at this point.
00:22:54This is going costume to me.
00:22:57I love it with the shoe though.
00:22:59I'm using a low oxford instead of a high heel.
00:23:02And it's just floating in the work room.
00:23:04I'm so proud of myself.
00:23:05It's beautiful.
00:23:06It's almost like a tough girl kind of dress even though it's like white and everything.
00:23:11Awesome.
00:23:12All right.
00:23:13I gotta get to work.
00:23:14All right, baby.
00:23:15Bye gorgeous.
00:23:16Be good.
00:23:17See you tomorrow.
00:23:18Adios, little mama.
00:23:22How does this look?
00:23:23Yes!
00:23:24It's the end of the day and I'm still battling how can I elevate this but not make it look so costume-ish.
00:23:34So you cut off the sleeves.
00:23:35Sleeves no more.
00:23:36Mm-mm.
00:23:37Ken seems to be struggling with his design and that's just something he's gonna have to figure out because, you know, the runway is tomorrow.
00:23:46You don't have time if they can get yourself.
00:23:49All right, guys.
00:23:5015 minutes left in the work room today.
00:23:52I don't wanna hear it.
00:23:53So I'm just gonna basically add this pale blue organza to create volume and drama.
00:24:00I really don't wanna give the judges the whole meal.
00:24:04I just want them to kind of smell the course.
00:24:06But at the same time, I need to give them enough so they can be interested.
00:24:10Okay, guys.
00:24:11The night is over.
00:24:12See you on the runway.
00:24:13Ah.
00:24:16Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:24:19Ah!
00:24:20Almost pulled my finger.
00:24:21Get it, sis.
00:24:22It's the only way I can get up under here, child.
00:24:24There's no room for Eric.
00:24:25Stanley's look, it's not my thing.
00:24:27Fabio's design looks like Crisco and a king and fattening.
00:24:40This morning does not feel good.
00:24:43For some reason, the nerves, like, I'm shaking.
00:24:47What if they don't like this and I end up going home knowing that I'm so close?
00:24:52Coming in, I have a fresh mind.
00:24:54I've actually had a moment to sleep on the drama part of my look.
00:24:58So I'm gonna move forward with creating my drape.
00:25:01And I'm gonna take a whimsical approach to it that makes it a little questionable if you like it or if you don't like it.
00:25:07And that's what fashion is all about.
00:25:13Shut up!
00:25:14I feel good about my look.
00:25:16I don't feel great.
00:25:17Can you try this down for me?
00:25:19It has a bit of bulk to it.
00:25:21I'm gonna have to do a lot of hand tacking and just continue to mold and see what it does.
00:25:28Throughout this whole season, it's been such stiff competition.
00:25:32And now it's just the four of us, all in that brother-soaring room, trying to crank out our looks.
00:25:36Ah!
00:25:37Okay.
00:25:38Almost hold my finger.
00:25:40How are you?
00:25:41Good, how are you?
00:25:42Welcome to the Rodeo Glam Room.
00:25:43Tell me about your look.
00:25:44Well, today my look is very young and fresh, so I want to like contrast that with a very graphic makeup.
00:25:53Okay.
00:25:54So I was thinking of one eyebrow black, the other one teal.
00:25:57I'm gonna go very extreme.
00:25:59So maybe the liquid pen?
00:26:00Mm-hmm.
00:26:01And what were you thinking the lips?
00:26:02I want them pale and map them up a little bit.
00:26:04Okay.
00:26:05Maybe the lightest concealer, Aspen.
00:26:07Mm-hmm.
00:26:10How are you?
00:26:11Good.
00:26:12So tell me about your collection and your inspiration.
00:26:14I'm using a lot of rich materials, brocades, lace.
00:26:17So I kind of want something a little edgy.
00:26:19My vision for the Umberto Hair Salon is a really short, textured pixie cut almost.
00:26:26We use the Superhold Hairspray and we'll just kind of shape it into place and give you a little bit of spikiness, a little texture.
00:26:32Love it.
00:26:33Okay, you guys, we have one hour left.
00:26:35Oh, .
00:26:36Thank you, Stanley.
00:26:37Stan's the man.
00:26:41All right.
00:26:42Let's put the skirt on.
00:26:43It's a good dress.
00:26:44I'm feeling really good, but there's no room for error.
00:26:47There's gonna be three moving forward.
00:26:49I hope I'm one.
00:26:50Let's tack it on right quick.
00:26:52Stanley's aesthetic is very defined, but to send it down the runway with like seven layers of the same skirt, none finished, it's not my thing.
00:27:01This is a very different look.
00:27:03Fabio's design looks frumpy.
00:27:06She looks like Crisco in a can.
00:27:09Cute.
00:27:10Fattening.
00:27:11All right, guys.
00:27:12We have one half hour left.
00:27:19Get it, sis.
00:27:20It's the only way I can get up under here, child.
00:27:23I truly believe that there should be some level of drama on the runway.
00:27:27And looking around the room, I feel like my look is the most dramatic look among the designers.
00:27:33And I do believe that the judge would want to see more from me.
00:27:36Click those earrings on so I can see what they decide.
00:27:39The shoes I decide to get from the intermix accessory wall are these fabulous metallic gold sandals.
00:27:45I think it's gonna elevate my look and take it to that place where I really wanna take it.
00:27:49That's something I'll have to decide last minute.
00:27:51Yeah.
00:27:52Five minutes to the runway, y'all.
00:27:53It's just kinda like, now who's gonna win?
00:27:54Now who's gonna go home?
00:27:55They're all so good.
00:27:56And not to mention, they're all really nice people.
00:27:57When you have a camaraderie with these people, you don't wanna see anybody go.
00:27:58Oh, wait, wait, wait.
00:27:59To him, to him, to him, to him, to him.
00:28:00I think that Ken showing a pant for his signature look is quite smart because the judges really
00:28:17speak to his tailoring skills.
00:28:19And that is time, designers.
00:28:20It is time for the runway.
00:28:22Got it.
00:28:23About as easy as you're gonna look today.
00:28:25Only three of us are gonna go to the finale.
00:28:27All right.
00:28:28But for me, honestly, there hasn't been another option besides making it to the finale and
00:28:34winning this whole season.
00:28:35Oh, my zipper is wonky.
00:28:40Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
00:28:43I don't like the fabric here.
00:28:44It was a little too fussy for me.
00:28:46It's a bit discombobulated for me.
00:28:48I have a surprise for you.
00:28:50Follow me.
00:28:51Is this another circus hoop we got to jump through?
00:28:54The winner of Project Runway All Stars will receive a fashion spread of Marie Claire and
00:28:59a position at the magazine as contributing editor.
00:29:03An inspiring trip for two to fashion capital London, England.
00:29:07And luxurious skincare and makeup for their debut show and beyond, all provided by Rodial.
00:29:13From intermix, accessories and styling services to enhance their next collection.
00:29:17From brother sewing and embroidery, a complete sewing and crafting studio to launch their line.
00:29:23And to elevate their business and build their brand, a cash prize of $100,000.
00:29:32Oh.
00:29:33Oh.
00:29:34A good moment.
00:29:35Hey.
00:29:36Hey.
00:29:37How are you guys doing?
00:29:38Good.
00:29:39Good.
00:29:40We started the week with the four of you in Washington, D.C. to set the final challenge.
00:29:44Yeah.
00:29:45A six piece collection that makes your mark on American fashion history.
00:29:49But, before you get to show that collection, we have an exclusive presentation of your signature
00:29:55look for you to show the judges today.
00:29:58And there's a lot riding on this because only three of you will get to show your full collections
00:30:04on the runway in four days.
00:30:07So, let's meet the judges.
00:30:10First, co-founder and designer of luxury brand Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
00:30:14Good luck, designer.
00:30:18Next, one of the most iconic names in American fashion history, Isaac Mizrahi.
00:30:22Hi, Isaac.
00:30:23Don't it up.
00:30:25It's fine.
00:30:28Our first guest designs lingerie and, as a model, has worked with Marc Jacobs, Jean-Paul
00:30:33Gaultier, and Vivian Westwood.
00:30:35But she's best known for bringing burlesque back into contemporary culture.
00:30:39Please welcome the exquisite Dita Von Teese.
00:30:46And our next guest, of course, is a friend of the Project Runway All-Stars family.
00:30:51She's been a mentor to some of you, but now she's on the dark side.
00:30:57It's senior fashion editor for Marie Claire, Zanna Roberts Rossi.
00:31:02So good to see you all again.
00:31:04Hi, Zanna.
00:31:05Hi, Zanna.
00:31:06Designers, your fate is in the hands of this next runway.
00:31:10So have a great show.
00:31:14So cute.
00:31:15It's so beautiful.
00:31:16All that skirt.
00:31:17Then you see a little bit of the black underneath.
00:31:19It's exactly what I was going for.
00:31:20I love how the leather detail pops off the white.
00:31:21And with the pleating detail, the fabric choice, it's amazing.
00:31:26The fit of that paint is life evermore.
00:31:28It's a full on look.
00:31:29I love the fit, the tailoring, the styling is perfect.
00:31:30It's a full on look.
00:31:31It's a full on look.
00:31:32I love the fit, the tailoring, the styling is perfect.
00:31:33The tassels could be a bit much.
00:31:34The tassels could be a bit much.
00:31:35But collectively, I love it.
00:31:36It's a full on look.
00:31:37I love the fit, the tailoring, the styling is perfect.
00:31:41The tassels could be a bit much.
00:31:42But collectively, I love everything about it.
00:31:43It's a full on look.
00:31:44I love the fit, the tailoring, the styling is perfect.
00:31:57The tassels could be a bit much, but collectively, I love everything about it.
00:32:09That, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call smocking.
00:32:16I am really excited.
00:32:18Everything is working so beautifully.
00:32:22I love the smocking.
00:32:27I love the playfulness of this tulip ham.
00:32:30And I love that the top disconnects at the waist.
00:32:36That's a gown if there ever was one.
00:32:43I'm enjoying the whole experience.
00:32:45It's drama.
00:32:46It moves beautifully.
00:32:47I think that this look is well balanced between the hem lens, the sweep of the train, and the
00:32:57open bag.
00:32:58It moves beautifully.
00:33:00aik
00:33:09Kaufman
00:33:10I love a pick.
00:33:15Designers three of you will continue creating your final collections show next week.
00:33:17And one of you will be eliminated tonight.
00:33:20Anthe, we will start the critique with you.
00:33:24Anthony we will start the critique with you so my theme for my collection is as
00:33:29if Audrey Hepburn live long enough to become Rihanna today I want to show the
00:33:35mold again the sculpting that I think I do well I also wanted to show the
00:33:40boldness in color the best part for me is the length I think you really kind of
00:33:45got something so fresh feeling and from the back it's so flawless I like the
00:33:50width of the straps I like that they're present I also love that the fabric
00:33:55which is nothing more than what a velvet right no it's a neoprene face to build it
00:34:01well there you go that's why it looks so fresh to me one thing I will call out is
00:34:06that her waist doesn't look resolved I disagree with Isaac I don't like the
00:34:11fabric care to me it feels heavy but you've got a wonderful silhouette here
00:34:15and I completely concur with eyes at this length is brilliant I think she has a
00:34:19lot of drama and a lot of presence and I really think that's where you're headed
00:34:23as a designer Dita Von Teese well I love the reference of course I like how you
00:34:28modernized it I love the color I feel like is the waist going a little is it
00:34:33going a little sideways or just a little wonky so I I noticed that but I do love
00:34:37the structure of the velvet and the weight of it I definitely appreciate the
00:34:41elegance of this dress the straps in the back are my favorite thing and I love the
00:34:45idea it's like a pinafore almost the fabric reads beautiful why did you
00:34:49choose that it just felt fresh for me was it hard to work with it's not hard to
00:34:53work with but when you sew silk file it stays when you sew neoprene it's like
00:34:58we'll see you later I think it did you a favor I think it actually made you a
00:35:04little bit more modern I love the side of this dress I think with that little
00:35:07pleat right there it's so beautiful I think that the problem with the waist is
00:35:11that the weight of the flourish is actually pulling it to one side if this
00:35:15is what you're going to do think about your understructure you need to support
00:35:19the waist with a grow grain or something like that Ken hi tell us about your look
00:35:25in Washington there was a lace bow tie and a handkerchief it was Harriet Tubman's
00:35:31so I wanted to show this romantic powerful woman this is supposed to be your
00:35:35signature look and I really wish you'd stuck with your signature the very
00:35:40graphic silhouettes the deep cuts the darker colors I understand the
00:35:45reference I just don't know if now was the time to start experimenting with
00:35:49whimsy and the sashes I love the pants but I was grappling with the sash it was a
00:35:54little too fussy for me I'm not sure about your fabrication here I think if this
00:35:58had all been in black and white it would have been a more of a powerful piece
00:36:01you've got too many shiny things also I wish she didn't have those earrings on
00:36:06they cheapen your outfit but I love the proportions of this I love the
00:36:09straightness of the neckline and I love the way that your sash clips with the
00:36:13bottom of your trousers Ken I just adore you I love you for doing pants and I love
00:36:19the fabrics I would never think of them together and the colors are really good
00:36:24the one thing that I would say about the flourish is like if it had been a
00:36:28little bit longer and more dramatic for me it would have felt more modern with the
00:36:33pants which are a perfect length the tailoring is impeccable and I do like the softness of this
00:36:40sash my only concern is when it first came out I thought it looked a little bit like a beauty pageant
00:36:45sash but I do think that you have grown so much this season and I really appreciate being able to sit
00:36:51back and see what you bring down the runway every week so I thank you Ken thank you
00:36:55Fabio tell us about your signature look in the theme of your collection I wanted to like connect this
00:37:01timeline between me and my grandma because she taught me how to sew and this is the smocking
00:37:04technique that she does at home and I just wanted to take something that is really traditional and
00:37:08modernize it in a way well I knew immediately this was your look I adore the smocking and I think it's
00:37:14so brilliant coming from the stripe I love your woman she just sort of is like I don't care I am
00:37:19who I am and I think that's great and I just wonder who is your muse um well I think of Tilda Swinton
00:37:26I like women that are not afraid to take risks you have a flawless way of putting yourself together
00:37:31in this completely gauche way and then when you look at a woman you get like a little afraid and
00:37:35polite don't let those bitches scare you okay like you have to do exactly what you do to yourself to
00:37:41them and then this kind of like chinoiserie this kind of bird thing that's going on on top I don't
00:37:46mind the idea but that print doesn't exactly work also that shoe which you know how much I love a flat
00:37:53especially in this context with that sick little length that shoe gives me like Cole Han or
00:37:59something and Cole Han in this context right like it wants to be something even more sort of gauche
00:38:05caviar like even more rebellious I want that to be super rebellious that shoe my favorite word you
00:38:12know gauche caviar I love the smocking of the skirt the way that it lined up with the stripes and I love
00:38:20a modern 50s skirt I didn't like the blouse and the skirt together but I loved the pieces on their
00:38:25own you've always had kind of that folky couture vibe that I do really enjoy and it's very very strong and
00:38:33unique but I feel there is too many things happening it's a bit discombobulated for me you have such a
00:38:41great vision and I don't want to discourage you but I think editing is still something that you have to
00:38:46remember to do I love it thank you I want it you can have it the back of that top is so gorgeous
00:38:53and just as it does another point it could snap over so it changes the idea of the top so clever
00:39:00you have such a unique perspective and you should not be afraid of it that's what we love about you
00:39:06is that you are out there and that there are too many things going on at once and that your proportions
00:39:11are weird but somehow you make them work so you do you Stanley at the Smithsonian Museum there was
00:39:18African-American exhibit the hats the ladies in church wore the white dresses on the first Sunday
00:39:23then I moved to the inaugural exhibit and just looking at all the gowns from the first ladies
00:39:27and the military exhibit the coats and the tailoring so this dress is sort of a culmination of all those
00:39:32elements I think you did a wonderful job here I love the woman you're presenting today I think it's a
00:39:38powerful statement this got me just feels a touch heavy perhaps you have one too many layers you
00:39:43know the thing I love more than black dresses with white petticoats are white dresses with black
00:39:49linings thank you I just love this woman it's not the plainest dress in the world it's close to the
00:39:55plainest dress in the world but it has enough about it to make me just go wow like I'm tingling you
00:40:02know what comes next I can't think of anything more to say except I don't like leather around
00:40:07anybody's neck I would like be choking the whole night freaking out with leather just detachable
00:40:12though but of course there are people who live for leather around their necks you know right so I
00:40:17can't say anything well I love this look I thought if this represents your collection I'd love to see
00:40:22more I love a big 50s full skirt I love it with the shoes that you chose I thought that maybe the
00:40:28collar could be a little more delicate I thought it was a little bit oversized Stanley this to me is
00:40:34project around my all-stars gold I love it thank you everything about the past the present and the
00:40:39future really fits into this I love the innocence of the white with the naughtiness of the black
00:40:44leather I thought the black underneath was really cool there's just subtle enough that you saw it when
00:40:49she walked but it wasn't a main focal point which I think is another theme of what you do you have
00:40:55all of these ideas but you don't let them completely overcome your designs and I also feel the Smithsonian
00:41:01here yeah and what is that buckle it's just a pin actually can we see you take that off yeah I'm
00:41:06intrigued and also Isaac wants to borrow it oh so pretty gorgeous I just got goosebumps thank
00:41:15you Stanley thank you thank you designers and thank you models you can leave the runway while we talk to
00:41:21the designers on the round designers you have all made a great case for being in the final we can see
00:41:33your vision and we'd be excited to have any of them fully realized in a collection but just as fashion
00:41:41trends turn the winner of project runway all-stars needs to be able to adapt to change as well this doesn't
00:41:48sound good so I have a surprise for you I have a surprise for you are you ready yep follow me oh my god
00:42:07so Alyssa steps onto the runway which I've never seen before I'm gonna puke you can tell like there's
00:42:15something mischievous going on is this another circus hoop we got to jump through Alyssa has these cute
00:42:21little soft feminine hands and I am damned about to squeeze her hand right on off her wrist because
00:42:27I'm like where in the hell are you taking me uh let's go this way I get really nervous in situations
00:42:33that I don't have no control over hi Dave how you doing so I'm thinking I'm gonna my pants we are
00:42:41going behind the scenes some of these people you know some you don't know say hi to the control room
00:42:45hi everybody hello look you're on TV oh I look good and shiny too this is like don't pay attention to
00:42:56the man behind the curtain only there's like 25 of them okay come with me there's more oh
00:43:01come on in designers oh hello yeah so we walk into another room in skylight and I'm like why is it
00:43:18for some machines in here right over here I know you want to run away this is not right I know that
00:43:25we're headed to like slaughter or something this is a side of skylight you've never seen before no
00:43:31all I see is steam ironing boards and for half-dressed models and I'm thinking this is where fabric goes to
00:43:40die the skylight group creates the hottest venues in New York through adaptive reuse of the city's
00:43:48properties inspired by the original use artists use a buildings form to create a new function to show
00:43:55that you have what it takes to create an all-stars worthy collection your task is to repurpose fabric
00:44:02that other designers have discarded this season to create a brand new look one that guarantees your
00:44:09final collection will be shown on the runway we're making one look from the remnants of fabrics from
00:44:16eliminated designers which already is scary because if they eliminate it clearly they didn't have good
00:44:22tasting damn fabric there are four identical sets of the tools that you will need and you only have
00:44:30one hour to complete your look I enslaved and struggled over this one damn look and you tell me I got an
00:44:37hour to make another one it's nothing left in my body Alyssa designers the one hour look does not have to fit into
00:44:43the collection you guys have rolled with the punches all season we appreciate that and we know that you can turn this out
00:44:50I'm looking over there like I can see scraps of fabric and like pieces this big I don't know what I'm gonna do so good luck
00:44:58designers your one hour starts right now
00:45:05I just dumped everything on the floor I can't be cute and dainty I need to see everything that's inside of it
00:45:17oh damn there's not a whole lot so my goal is to like find something sparkly to let the fabric do the magic the gunmetal sequin is from Kim from Betty Boop challenge I have Candace's copper sequin fabric from the food and wine challenge and I have Edmund's faux leather from the superhero challenge
00:45:36go Anthony go I find this beautiful silk fabric that was used by Josh in the Isaac Mizrahi challenge and thank you Josh for leaving so much fabric behind this experience really pushes you out of your element and it does make you design off instincts so I'm just gonna go with the material that's the most yardage
00:46:06which is the black material from Amanda and Joshua's food and wine challenge
00:46:10nothing is really working but I look on the ground and I see this really big piece of white silk file from Helen's superhero look and I know I can make pants out of that
00:46:25I can't stop shaking
00:46:27I'm just trying to navigate through this but I really have to come out of my comfort zone
00:46:34I can't get too buttoned up about it because time's gonna pass
00:46:3730 minutes left designers 30 minutes left
00:46:41hey Ken how's it going it's going I have a strategy I'm going to use one of the silhouettes and elements of a design that I'm going to incorporate in my finale collection hopefully it works
00:46:55oh dang 15 minute mark
00:46:57I look over and I see another big piece of white and I touch it and it's neoprene from Joshua's distress challenge and I'm super excited because I can drape it as stretch it will fit and it will mold beautifully
00:47:11getting somewhere with this
00:47:12I'm really starting to tap into what's more organic and innate in my design aesthetic
00:47:18okay
00:47:21I can't think when I'm hot
00:47:24I guess God sent me an angel in Josh because I used the same complimenting fabric he used in the Isaac Mizrahi challenge I just think that I'm using it in a different way
00:47:35I'm not quite prepared for this moment
00:47:37I'm gonna color block this dress by using the copper for the front the gunmetal for the back and I'm gonna make a leather bib detail that sort of wraps around just so it's not one big shiny dress
00:47:47kind of cute huh not bad for an hour
00:47:50five minutes left designers
00:47:52I look over and Anthony got a whole damn couture pageant dress that looked like 15 people and sold it
00:47:59I don't know where my mommy is but she better be damn proud of me
00:48:13time's up tools down
00:48:15that's all we can do for today
00:48:19done and done
00:48:20I step back and I'm like oh
00:48:22it's gorgeous
00:48:23and it fits beautifully
00:48:25hey we're done
00:48:26it's kind of perfect and cute
00:48:28surprisingly
00:48:29it just fits really good
00:48:31it's really good in it
00:48:32let me see
00:48:33this is actually a really good look
00:48:35I'm so happy with what I accomplished in such a short amount of time
00:48:40to be honest with you I'm so shocked that I created this in an hour
00:48:44but looking around the room it looks like it's gonna be a tough one for the judges
00:48:48we all did good come here
00:48:50designers it's time to find out how well you adapt to change with your repurposed looks
00:49:07designers it's time to find out how well you adapt to change with your repurposed looks
00:49:12let's bring out your models
00:49:19Anthony tell us about your repurposed look
00:49:21I described raping is like love making all parties involved need to be able to be satisfied when it was over
00:49:27first of all I want to say thank you coming on the heels of such a long day right to be asked to do this sort of thing can't be the funest and yet I feel like every single one of you broke through and relied on your instincts it's a really good thing to challenge yourself this way when you're so exhausted you just get very free and you know Anthony I think you hit it on the nose you gave us this incredible like instinct of draping you which you really sort of you made love to that
00:49:56girl I have one criticism which is that you gave us this marvelous length this week and I wish you thought about that again because it was such a great thought I really think your color story here is really fabulous I'm happy you chose this vibrancy I love that you've given your woman flamboyant dress but it's very controlled at the same time I'm so impressed I love the color combination I love the shoulder it's very glamorous well well done I love this black
00:50:25thank you I love the splash of color I think that combination is super interesting the length would have been great as a midi this reminds me of an old Hollywood dress this to me resembles that kind of elegance and that kind of glamour thank you hi Stanley hey tell us about your repurposed look the bronze sequin is from Candace food and wine and the silver metallic is from Kim's Betty Boop and the leather is from Edmund's superhero challenge
00:50:55you know you know and just try to work smarter not harder Stanley that dress so good thank you it's like bling block or something you know not color block seriously it's great I love the juxtaposition of the gold with the silver I actually would have liked to see the color that you did on the last one maybe even on this one with the leather Stanley I mean you're just clever
00:51:25you know you're just clever to see the color that she feels finished Ken well the black material is from Amanda and Joshua was food and wine challenge I wanted to do something that was a simple clean lines that mimics my tailoring what can I say you could put this on anyone right now and no one would ever know it was done in an hour
00:51:55thank you thank you so much yeah I immediately notice how beautiful the seam is at the slit and how finished it looks Ken that's marvelous I really love that dress so controlled so tailored and if I had one criticism for you I would say like it's maybe a little too controlled you know like maybe go a little mad you know Fabio so the shorts are Helen superhero and the neoprenees from Joshua's distress challenge I like things to be clashing I like things to be
00:52:24proportionate proportionate but yet at the same time contrasting this is an exciting look and I'm happy if you've just
00:52:31broken out of the box and you've gone for what you do I love that it's like this boy scout short with this very
00:52:39chic top this is what I want to see from you it's almost like your aesthetic
00:52:45leans more to doing it quicker this feels so easy it feels so natural Fabio yes
00:52:52um I had no question about any of it except again the length if the shorts were shorter it would just be so
00:52:59wonderful to see her knee that's all I'm thinking
00:53:01so the judges and I will now decide which three of you will complete your collections for the final runway
00:53:09this is gonna be so hard miserable doesn't one want to volunteer can't someone just yes
00:53:15I am exhausted how am I gonna jump I'm gonna rely on my instincts exactly thank you to all of you guys
00:53:24thank you you can wait in the backstage lounge
00:53:26it's in their hands now I don't know what's gonna happen out there but I have really enjoyed this and when I thought about the final four I always saw you guys
00:53:50I'm proud of all of us for pushing so far I'm frustrated that one of us is gonna go home I wish
00:53:56all four of us could go but no matter what happens today I'm gonna leave a better person and a better
00:54:02designer because I believe that Georgina Isaac and Alyssa actually steer you in a direction where you can grow
00:54:08feel like they're rooting for us yeah genuinely it seems like it so judges what the designers were able
00:54:14to do in the last hour was clearly just amazing and remarkable but the one-hour look does not have to
00:54:20fit into the collection at all so I want to focus on not only that but also what they showed on the runway
00:54:26and and whose collection we want to see in that finale I think what we saw them do on the runway just
00:54:33now was valid but for me I have to consider more what I saw on the runway today I just do because
00:54:40you know that's the actual designer we're talking about you know I agree with that I think you know
00:54:46what you can do in an hour is one thing and it sort of gives you the essence of the person right but
00:54:50what they did before is really going to be more of a true indicator of the collection let's talk about
00:54:55Anthony he was very consistent Anthony it's like you know from one look to the next it was very
00:55:00streamlined you can imagine it was from the same collection I disagree with everyone on that
00:55:05fabric on his first look it wasn't my favorite to me I felt the fabric was heavy I feel like I've
00:55:10worn dresses like that for years and years and I collect dresses that look like that dress so I
00:55:15liked the heavier fabric the dress that he showed us in the remake was wrinkled you know it really was
00:55:20awkward to be looking at a runway dress that was all wrinkled down the front yeah and at this stage of
00:55:25the game we're looking at every little detail we are he has evolved so much as a designer and I would
00:55:31really like to see what he will produce in a finale and then we have Ken who I think is incredibly
00:55:41meticulous and well thought out I think both of the looks he showed today proved that I thought the
00:55:45tailoring of this bodice was amazing the first that with the trouser but those pants on the runway were
00:55:50pulling across her hips but I liked that it wasn't black because that black dress was his default
00:55:56thing a little bit of drama and mostly tailoring everyone keeps talking about his tailoring and I
00:56:01haven't seen all of his other work but there's a lot of great designers that can't even sew so
00:56:05you know I'd like him to be just more considered with his fabric choices that you can tell it's a new
00:56:10world for him these lighter fabrics is lighter touch for me it fell flat but I do think this is a new
00:56:16thing that you can and I really want to see where he goes with that Fabio I like the pieces separately
00:56:24but I didn't like them together the chinoiserie birds which looks like my wallpaper with the very
00:56:29modern skirt this is a collection I would like to see really the top on the first of the print yeah it
00:56:37needed work it needed work but the look was very strong I loved it it was mediocre it was mediocre
00:56:44not brave enough the top was mediocre but the skirt was so out of this world his second look yes I
00:56:51want to see more of that really yeah genius stronger look I thought it was random and sort of like you
00:56:57know desperate of everyone he feels the most like an artist to me and for that reason alone I want to see
00:57:05the rest of his collection let's move on to Stanley that white dress was so impressive and impeccable so
00:57:15good I mean who doesn't want to see that collection I want to own that dress his runway dress was my
00:57:21favorite by far that felt iconic for me and that is something that you could imagine ending up in a
00:57:27museum my one reservations that little bling dress at the end being so disjointed it's been one girl the
00:57:33whole time right and then under stress he does that which is so unrelated he's really the one that's
00:57:40got a handle on who he is and he has a precision and there's a maturity to his work maturity he feels
00:57:45ready okay so have we made our decision and we all agree okay let's bring them back out
00:58:03designers this week there is no one winner but three guaranteed places in the finale
00:58:13designers this week there is no one winner but three guaranteed places in the finale but
00:58:26this is all-stars and it's never that easy because your signature look is complete these three
00:58:34designers will need to add one more look to create a seven-piece collection no more twists I promise
00:58:43it is time to find out who moves forward in no particular order the first designer whose signature look
00:58:54and repurpose look and repurpose look has guaranteed them a place in the finale is
00:58:58Stanley
00:59:02thank you
00:59:05congratulations Stanley you can leave the runway thank you congratulations good work thank you
00:59:12the next designer whose signature look and repurpose look have guaranteed them a place in the finale
00:59:22finale is Fabio oh congratulations thank you you can leave the runway thank you good work
00:59:34okay you two Ken and Anthony both done some incredible work this season but only one of you gets that final
00:59:45place and the other will be leaving us tonight the designer eliminated tonight is
00:59:54is
01:00:09Ken that means Anthony you get the last place in the finale you can leave the runway
01:00:17thank you so much thank you so much thank you
01:00:42Ken we've meant everything that we said tonight you are an amazing amazing amazing designer thank you
01:00:53we wish you all the best thank you so much coming to hug you thank you sweet thing
01:01:00it's all from such a place of goodness I believe in you so believe in you I think you know that right
01:01:16let's help good thank you thank you love you one thing I can guarantee that my yes is coming I didn't get it
01:01:26today but it's coming I'm not defeated by no it only pushes me to move forward oh I know it's tough
01:01:35I want can I sit for a second I don't want to um you guys kick ass seriously all three of you guys um it's been a great experience so much love from the judges and you can feel it when I hug them they made me cry
01:01:54I don't cry I don't cry but just know that it's genuine and I wish all of you guys the best I've given my all I've grown in this process and it's just another step to success
01:02:07people don't understand that in order to reach success you have to go through steps of failure and that's a part of success and you have to embody it you have to grow from it and don't let it defeat you
01:02:21next on project runway all stars only three remain and tonight the winner is crowned
01:02:31the project runway all-stars finale demands drama Stanley why is that waving
01:02:39we gotta crank it out can Anthony has never made a collection before is it me I feel like I'm hitting a wall with this ivory look you don't get points for just tasteful classy and wearable
01:02:52it's been an amazing journey the finale blew me away you've really stumped me today you did an amazing job this is a little girl's dream come true right here
01:03:02ooh right here
