00:00Previously on Project Runway All-Stars,
00:03your challenge is to create a couture-inspired gown
00:07that celebrates Baroque fashion.
00:10We don't need Dungeons & Dragons.
00:12Sam, you've done eight jumpsuits so far.
00:14Eight jumpsuits and five challenges. I am impressive.
00:17Well, don't forget, Keeney made one of them.
00:19There's been, like, tension brewing between Keeney and Sam
00:22ever since the group challenge.
00:24I think they're the only one that took a Baroque inspiration
00:30and made it look so light and fresh.
00:33You've bought out a feeling of Baroque,
00:35but yet in a modern, cool way.
00:38The winning designer is...
00:41Ken.
00:45This is my first win in Project Runway history.
00:48I won!
00:49It looks like a factory-made dress
00:54trying to look like couture.
00:56The bottom, I can't even comment on.
00:59It is so upsetting to me.
01:01The designer eliminated tonight is...
01:04Mitchell.
01:06This is Project Runway All-Stars.
01:15Oh, my God. Why are we at mood first?
01:18We have to shop for fabrics before we even know the challenge.
01:24I don't know what's going on,
01:26because we usually go to mood after we get our challenge.
01:28Oh, my Lord.
01:29So I'm a little afraid.
01:31Oh, good morning.
01:32It's Alyssa.
01:33Hi.
01:34Good morning.
01:35You're all looking well.
01:36Hi, Alyssa.
01:37Hi.
01:38Good morning, designers.
01:41Good morning.
01:42So this is where you get all your fabrics.
01:44Well, I've come to mood to set your next challenge.
01:47Because fabric is a real talking point this season.
01:51The judges have criticized several of you for your selections.
01:54So this week, we're taking that choice out of your hands.
01:58Oh, no!
02:00Fabric is the most important decision that you make.
02:05They are taking that power away from us, and it's extremely scary.
02:09Your theme this week is high-end, evening resort wear.
02:14But there's a catch.
02:16And it's inside these envelopes.
02:19Ken, you won last week's challenge.
02:23So pick an envelope, and then cast the rest out to the other designers.
02:26I love you, Ken.
02:27I'll give you orange.
02:28I'll give you yellow.
02:29Turquoise.
02:30Okay.
02:31Green.
02:32Yellow.
02:33Purple.
02:34Blue.
02:35Blue.
02:36Blue.
02:37Blue.
02:38Yay!
02:39Ken, open your envelope.
02:40Tell us what's inside.
02:41Silk charmeuse.
02:42Ooh!
02:43I'm not typically amazed with lightweight fabrics like charmeuse.
02:46However, I think it fits this resort evening wear challenge.
02:47Linen.
02:48The linen section has, like, a rainbow of color.
02:49And I'm really excited about that.
02:50Me and Green.
02:51I'm so jealous.
02:52Lightweight cotton.
02:53It's very easy to work with, especially for a resort.
02:55I feel so lucky right now.
02:56I'm not going to complain.
02:57Jersey knit.
02:58Holy.
02:59It's a lot of fun.
03:00It's really cool.
03:01I'm so jealous.
03:02Yeah.
03:03And I'm so jealous.
03:04I'm so jealous.
03:05Lightweight cotton.
03:06I'm so jealous.
03:07I'm so jealous.
03:08I'm so jealous.
03:09I'm so jealous.
03:10I'm so jealous.
03:11I'm so jealous.
03:12I'm so jealous.
03:13I'm so jealous.
03:14Jersey Knits.
03:16Brocade. For resort?
03:18Yeah.
03:22Please.
03:24Upholstery.
03:26Whoa.
03:28Resort evening?
03:30Yeah. Thanks, Ken.
03:34The judges and I will see your evening resort wear on the runway tomorrow.
03:38Good luck. Your shop starts...
03:44Now.
03:48God, there's so many jerseys.
03:50This is like heaven.
03:52Can I get help pulling out some fabric?
03:54I have to use linen.
03:56Let's see.
03:58Can I get three and a quarter of this, please?
04:00Yeah.
04:02I get this beautiful turquoise and silver lace.
04:04I'm gonna make this fabulous jumpsuit out of it.
04:06Thank you so much.
04:08It is going to knock every other design off of the runway this week.
04:14I go to the upholstery section.
04:16Ooh.
04:18I'm looking for lighter fabrics.
04:20I end up finding something in a barrel that is a sheer.
04:24I just have to get an under fabric.
04:26I want to layer it. I want to volumize it.
04:28So, I'm excited.
04:30Can I see this one?
04:32I want to make a jumpsuit.
04:34Like this.
04:35I find this beautiful orange, lightweight cotton.
04:38And it's satin.
04:39So, it drapes really beautiful, like satin.
04:42I love it.
04:43Designers, five minutes!
04:45I'm gonna get a zipper.
04:46Can you bring it up?
04:55I wore the jumpsuits.
04:56I wore the jumpsuits.
04:57Part two.
04:58Taking you down this time.
04:59I took you down last time.
05:00Yes, you did.
05:04Bye.
05:10We got work to do.
05:11Work, work, work, work, work, work.
05:12Oh!
05:13Oh!
05:14Surprise!
05:15No!
05:16It's not me, Alyssa!
05:17Oh my God, why is she back?
05:19And what is happening?
05:20Aw, Son of God!
05:21Dang it!
05:22Come on in, you guys!
05:24Alyssa, being in the workroom can only mean one thing, and it's not good.
05:28So, this is where the magic happens, huh?
05:30Yeah.
05:31It's a great workroom.
05:32And?
05:33Although fabric has been an issue, we're super impressed with the fashion you're creating week after week.
05:39So, I'm sure you can handle one of All Stars' famous twists.
05:42No.
05:43No.
05:44No.
05:45Please don't do that.
05:46You all went fishing for fabric.
05:47Well, now it's time for a bait and switch.
05:51No!
05:52Oh my God.
05:53Or should I say bait and stitch?
05:56Oh no.
05:57Let's see how well you can create evening resort wear using fabric originally chosen by another designer.
06:04Oh my God.
06:05Oh shoot.
06:06I'm gonna cry so much.
06:08You will each switch fabrics with one of the other designers in the room.
06:13Until everyone has something new.
06:16Ken, as last week's winner, you can claim a fabric bag from any of the other designers first.
06:22I'm mad.
06:23To be honest, I'm mad as hell.
06:25I gotta give somebody else my materials and I gotta take this bull that they have.
06:29Come on.
06:30Okay.
06:31Dom, I'm gonna take your jersey knits.
06:35Okay.
06:36I'm taking your linen.
06:37Give it.
06:38Liana, I'm gonna take your lightweight cotton.
06:41Ken, I'm gonna take your silk charm mousse.
06:43Upholstery.
06:44Ugh.
06:45I like the whimsicalness of the embroidered dot.
06:48I like the colors.
06:49The denim, Emily.
06:50Okay, so that means Sam and Keeney, you two can swap your fabric bags.
06:54Give me that, thanks.
06:55Thanks for the brocade.
06:57It's like getting coal under your Christmas tree.
07:00Brocade for a resort wear challenge.
07:04This should be awful.
07:06So I guess you have some sketching to do.
07:09Good luck.
07:12Oh my goodness.
07:14I think everyone is terrified or upset.
07:17Some people are throwing hissy fits.
07:19Everyone's bitter.
07:21It's like the angriest workroom.
07:23I'm so pissed.
07:24It's like someone just took my child from me.
07:26Sam, how many yards did you buy of this?
07:28There's three and a half of that and three of the lining.
07:31Getting Sam's bag really made me question him as a designer.
07:35All I have is three yards of turquoise lace.
07:38There was nothing to build anything inside.
07:42He has no idea what he's doing.
07:45How much of this printed one is there, Keeney?
07:47I unpacked Keeney's fabric.
07:49And no joke, it is baby blanket Sleeping Beauty fabric.
07:53It's horrible.
07:54It's useless.
07:55Like, see ya.
08:00Asha, is this nail cream?
08:02I don't like it.
08:03You don't?
08:04No.
08:05It's resort darling.
08:07I don't do bright darling.
08:09You chose it.
08:10He chose the first one.
08:12Yeah, he was the first one.
08:13Now he's complaining.
08:14The hell if I know what Asha was gonna do with this fabric.
08:17With the material that I have, I can't do a cute flowy dress.
08:20So I'm thinking about making a gown.
08:22I'm just gonna play with shape and volume and do a wow silhouette
08:26to pick up for this ugly ass color.
08:29Nice job, Liana.
08:30This is nice fabric.
08:31Yeah.
08:32I chose Liana's fabric because she had one of the colors that I was going to work with.
08:38I want to make a high waisted jumpsuit with a deep V pleated top with like a cool turban
08:44because my girls are going to Latin America.
08:45And in Latin America, women wear turbans to hold the pots of water in their heads.
08:49I chose Ken's fabric because silk charmeuse fits the challenge very well.
08:54What I'm designing is a jumpsuit, very flowy pants, really low open back, very sexy and classy at the same time.
09:03Oh my gosh, this is like Toucan Sam.
09:07This is so many different colors.
09:09I chose Valerie's linen.
09:10I'm trying to quickly sketch something out that aesthetically I love that are gonna work with these fabrics.
09:16I decide to make a dress with a nice deep cut in the front and draped skirt.
09:21I'm picking just two of the colors that I feel work together the best and make a striped print out of it.
09:26I just need to make it look as luxe as possible.
09:30I get Alexander's fabric.
09:33I knew he was going to the upholstery section.
09:35But he picked fabrics that I would never, ever, ever have picked ever, especially for resort.
09:40I can't believe you only got a yard and a half of this.
09:43That's all there was.
09:44But there's five of the other one.
09:47I know, but it's completely see-through.
09:49Exactly.
09:50The one fabric that I have is completely sheer.
09:53And the fabric that I have to go under, I'd only have a yard and a half.
09:57So I'm trying to drape a dress because if I do pants, they're gonna look crazy.
10:06I don't know what I'm gonna do.
10:10I don't know what I'm gonna do.
10:15Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
10:17When it comes to jumpsuits, I don't think anybody can beat me.
10:21It's a jumpsuit.
10:22It's boring.
10:23It feels heavy.
10:24I just know I'm gonna lose.
10:26Like, I know I'm going for months now.
10:34This doesn't look resort to me.
10:38Just doesn't.
10:39You nervous?
10:40Yeah, I'm nervous.
10:41I'm not doing anything.
10:42I don't know what to do.
10:43I am terrified for Emily because she got some clown nose craziness from Alexander.
10:50I feel like giving up.
10:52I don't blame you, but there's a way to make this work.
10:55You think so?
10:56There's a lot you can do.
10:57Don't forget.
10:58I think so.
11:00You're welcome.
11:06Whose fabric did you get?
11:07I got Keeney's Brocade.
11:08Oh, it's cool.
11:09It's okay.
11:10I'm just a little concerned about the pink.
11:13I mean, I have this.
11:15That's what I saw.
11:16I didn't see this one.
11:17Yeah.
11:18This one, like, just scares me.
11:20This is a challenge.
11:22It is not every day that I have to use somebody else's terrible fabric to make my gorgeous design.
11:27I want my fabric back.
11:29So you're still gonna do your own textile?
11:30Yeah, I'm gonna do a nicely draped white dress and then a printed statement.
11:34Burr.
11:37Bakini, tell me what's wrong.
11:39We're not blind that that lace is hideous.
11:42I can't hide the hideous.
11:44Are you going somewhere?
11:45Yes, finally.
11:46Look like it.
11:47I'm not even using the polka dot.
11:48You're not?
11:49No.
11:51You're doing a jumpsuit, Valerie?
11:53Like a top and then pants.
11:55I actually didn't realize that Valerie was also making a jumpsuit.
11:59I'm doing some apple cane, maybe.
12:01It doesn't worry me at all because when it comes to jumpsuits, I don't think anybody can beat me.
12:15Hi, designers.
12:16Hi, Senna.
12:17Hi, Brenna.
12:18So I hear you're really out of your comfort zone this week.
12:21You guys know as well as I do, in the business of fashion, that happens all the time.
12:25And I am here to help.
12:27So let's get started.
12:28Sam, you're first.
12:30Hi, Sam.
12:31Hi, Senna.
12:32Where's this lady going?
12:33She's definitely going on a cruise.
12:34I'm feeling right now this is a bit Disney cruise.
12:37How is this jumpsuit different than the last jumpsuits we've seen you make?
12:41Well, the first one was mesh.
12:43And then I did that pair of wide leg pants.
12:46That's what this is giving me right now.
12:48Senna tells Sam that she's seen this look before from him.
12:52Duh.
12:53Thank you, Senna.
12:54So I'm glad Senna threw it in his face.
12:56Like, do something else with it.
12:58I've been having a hard time with this.
13:00I particularly don't like the lace.
13:02And I don't have a lot of yardage to work with.
13:04It's no excuse.
13:05Like, just figure it out.
13:06Ugh.
13:07I have Valerie's fabric.
13:08In terms of colors, we are similar in aesthetic.
13:11So I'm trying to make this new textile for a skirt.
13:14So wait, you had the yellow and the turquoise and you're creating your own fabric?
13:17Yes.
13:18You have been safe.
13:19I know!
13:20Way too much for a winner.
13:22This time I'm just going to take some brisks with the color and the print and make it as
13:26bold as I can make it.
13:27This needs some wow factor.
13:29Yeah.
13:30This is just another jumpsuit.
13:31True.
13:32And as much as I love jumpsuits, it's boring.
13:35You really have to amp up this silhouette.
13:37Okay.
13:38This is not going to win this competition.
13:41When it comes to a resort, I just love a jumpsuit.
13:43There's a common theme in this room.
13:45Yes.
13:46Look, I'm a fan of a jumpsuit, but to me, it looks very gowny.
13:49Mm-hmm.
13:50I think you inherited a fabric that is quite old fashioned.
13:54Yes, I know.
13:55It's okay.
13:56Mm-hmm.
13:57You can make it look cool because you've got a younger style and a younger aesthetic.
14:00Mm-hmm.
14:01Channel that.
14:02How are you finding working with this fabric?
14:03It's not hard at all.
14:04I'm trying to put my aesthetic in as much as possible.
14:07How is it going to win?
14:08Look at this silhouette, Santa.
14:10It's fabulous in my opinion.
14:12I think that my choice of fabric did help Ken.
14:15I love the bottom of his skirt.
14:17I think maybe he might have gone too heavy on the top.
14:20Don't try and go big up top, big below in this big color.
14:23Right, right.
14:24You're going to scare them.
14:25You're going to have a real mixed match of combinations of fabric here.
14:29Yes.
14:30I like that.
14:31I think you lucked out with the fabric swap, to be honest.
14:33Oh, yeah, totally.
14:34The design on the denim, I'm feeling a little bit costumed.
14:38Well, I can't change the design on the denim.
14:40But you can change the silhouette.
14:41But I can change the silhouette, yes.
14:43It's tough.
14:44I'm not really a floral person and I'm not really a denim person, but I have no choice.
14:48I have to do something with it.
14:49Feels a little bit too serious.
14:52Too serious?
14:53Yeah.
14:54It doesn't feel like you.
14:55It feels like you're making this and you're really worried about it.
14:57It feels like you've got a heavy mind and you're creating this heavy look.
15:00Okay.
15:01Think a bit sexier.
15:02Slits up to here.
15:03Plunging necklines down to here.
15:05Strappy, sexy.
15:06It's fine.
15:07You can do it.
15:08Don't get sad.
15:09Okay.
15:10All right?
15:11Right.
15:12You can do it.
15:13You can do it.
15:14Okay?
15:15Okay.
15:17Designers, you know we're getting to that stage of the competition where good goes home.
15:22And I'm a little bit worried that some of these are just too middle of the road.
15:25Please, bring the fashion.
15:27Think about your accessories, your hair and makeup.
15:30You've got the bubble bar jewelry wall and the Chinese laundry shoe wall.
15:33Use them.
15:34Good luck.
15:35Thank you, Santa.
15:39Talk to me.
15:40I just know I'm going to lose.
15:42Like, I know I'm going home on this one.
15:44What did she say?
15:45She said it looked like I had a heavy hand and it was just really heavy.
15:50Is there any way to lighten it up?
15:52Like an overlay?
15:53Maybe with the fabric?
15:54I just can't think with that fabric.
15:57I totally understand.
15:59Just take a break and look at it.
16:01Come back to it, Emily.
16:08Teeny, I hate that fabric.
16:11It's better than ugly ass lace.
16:14Shh.
16:15It's a pipe going on.
16:16I don't feel sorry for Sam.
16:19For getting the brocade.
16:21I got a Disney princess fabric.
16:23And that's out of Zanna's mouth, not mine.
16:25She didn't say Disney princess.
16:27She said she looks like she's going on a cruise, a Disney cruise.
16:30Carva's a real bitch.
16:35Hello.
16:36Hey, girl.
16:37How are you?
16:38We had this insane challenge.
16:41We had to switch with other designers
16:43and use their fabric.
16:45This is all I had to work with.
16:46As you can see, some people got some really scary fabric, so I won't complain.
16:54I just want to see how bad the crotch is.
16:56When my model arrives, I don't have much to put her in.
17:00Check out to fit you in something.
17:02It's not a good silhouette to make a tight-fitting short with this heavy, heavy fabric.
17:07Maybe this will work if I make some high-waisted polos or pants.
17:11Or maybe I could do a skirt.
17:12Wish me luck for all.
17:13Is it what I originally planned?
17:15Oh, yeah.
17:16I see that this one is pulling.
17:19Looks like money.
17:20So far, I really only have the top done.
17:23I still have to finish the skirt.
17:25But the top looks cute, at least.
17:27It's a neoprene.
17:28The only thing I have for her to try on is the skirt of my dress.
17:31She looks fierce.
17:32She's slaying everybody.
17:34But I need to get back to work so I can finish the top.
17:37You look really good in the orange.
17:38I really like it, too.
17:39Once she puts it on, it looks peach with her skin tone.
17:42And she wears it so well.
17:43Like, girl filled it out in every part where it needed to be filled out.
17:47This looks good already.
17:48It's not even filled.
17:49Yeah, I think it looks great.
17:50Okay.
17:51Hmm.
17:52I mean, it fits, which is a start.
17:54My model looks terrible in this jumpsuit.
17:58Like, god-awful princess costume, stupid horribleness.
18:03I have this other check style.
18:05Maybe we'll try it in that.
18:07I have to take the fabric that I have left and start over.
18:10Bye, ladies.
18:13Oh, love.
18:15Designers, you have one hour.
18:17Dom, get it together.
18:18I got it together, man.
18:20I got it.
18:24Are you going to use that for anything?
18:26I don't know.
18:27I just don't really feel like using it.
18:29I think you should.
18:30Yeah.
18:31For it to be evening wear.
18:32Even though I don't really want to use the polka dot fabric, I don't really have a lot of options.
18:38So I'm making a skirt out of it.
18:40Instead of gathering it, I'm pleating it.
18:43And it kind of looks like I cut out the dots and made a trim to go around the waistband.
18:47But I'm still stressed out and I'm feeling really challenged by this one.
18:53Sam, are you making a new dress?
18:56I'm going to send down a muslin dress.
18:58No, you're not.
18:59And like color in some brocade flowers on it.
19:01Stop.
19:02I think I stared at that fabric for a good half an hour before I just started putting it on the dress form, tacking it in various places, just playing with it.
19:12I'm creating this voluminous skirt that plays with the lines of the fabric.
19:16And by the end of the night, I somehow have managed to make an entire gown.
19:22I love my look right now and that is incredible given the first look I made, the fabric I was given, and Keeney's attitude towards me all day.
19:34Oh my God, Keeney just keeps glaring at me.
19:36Designers, it's time to go here.
19:38It's just like, dude, get the f*** over it.
19:41Bye dress.
19:43Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
19:49This is crazy.
19:51When you're rushing, you can absolutely f*** stuff up.
19:54Valerie made a creamsicle.
19:56Keeney is in major trouble.
19:58That is hideous.
20:09Back to work we go.
20:10Bye.
20:13Oh my God, you guys are in here already?
20:17Hell yeah.
20:18Gotta get it cracking.
20:20Ow.
20:24It's the morning of the runway.
20:25We got two hours to get everything complete.
20:27But when you're rushing, you can absolutely f*** stuff up.
20:30You can sew seams on incorrectly.
20:32You can sew sleeves in backwards.
20:37I have to make sure I place the straps off the back and on the side
20:41to make sure that they are falling in the right place.
20:44I'm just so sick of being safe.
20:46And I think I have a good shot.
20:48I need my model.
20:53Yay!
20:56Let's do this.
21:00Could you go in and adjust?
21:02How does this feel?
21:04Good.
21:05Make that really tight.
21:07Dom and this damn textile manipulation that she does is some s*** we all need to look out for.
21:13It's cool because this fabric actually looks like linen instead of upholstery.
21:18I've got the crop top done and the shorts are pretty good.
21:22I feel like I went through every emotion to get to this piece.
21:25And I'm really proud that I was able to actually put out something that met the challenge that I felt was still me.
21:31In the end, I really like it.
21:33Are you ready to go to the sports contest video?
21:35Yes.
21:36All right, let's go.
21:38I love the natural sort of volume and texture of her hair.
21:41Clean up the curls and exaggerate the shape, right?
21:43Yes, please.
21:44Pull her hair back into a high ponytail, but I wanted to see if we could do like a braid.
21:48A matte red lip and then just a fine liner on the eyes.
21:53A little rosy in the cheeks, slight tan.
21:55We've got a cult favorite and it's called Tropic Hues.
21:59I feel like sun-kissed goddess and then I was thinking a bold red lip.
22:06All right guys, 30 minutes till runway.
22:11There you go.
22:12I don't know how the hell I did it, but my model looks amazing.
22:15Like she is on a resort in heaven.
22:18I am so happy.
22:19The smile will not get wiped off my face because that dress is beautiful.
22:26Oh, it looks really cute.
22:27Okay.
22:29You totally make me feel better.
22:30The girl looks great.
22:31Like it looks like it was made for her body.
22:33I'm thinking like, okay, like I have nothing to worry about.
22:36Valerie made a creamsicle that looks like every other thing that she's done thus far in the competition.
22:42So she could very well be packing her bags today.
22:45All right.
22:48I personally think Keeney is in major trouble.
22:51I mean, it's not his fault.
22:53He had three yards of crappy cheap turquoise lace, but that is hideous.
22:58Okay.
22:59I have this zipper in for you.
23:01We're going to try it on again. Okay?
23:02Okay.
23:03Ken had my fabric and if the judges received such an over-the-top look well,
23:08which I would in my world because I'm here for fashion,
23:11I think that he'll be in the top.
23:13I'm so scared to get a break.
23:15Yeah, I know.
23:17It's broke.
23:18It's five minutes before we leave.
23:20Oh my God.
23:21And my zipper breaks.
23:22So I have to rip the zipper out and sew it up really, really quick.
23:26We almost there.
23:27All right, guys, that's time.
23:29Okay.
23:30Time to go.
23:33Woo.
23:34All right, we're done.
23:37I just had to finish it really fast.
23:39But to be honest with you, I'm looking around like these bitches don't have anything on my garment.
23:44I love it.
23:45Right this way.
23:46All right.
23:47Let's do this, y'all.
23:50Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
23:53I hate this.
23:54I don't know what made you think of that.
23:56It looks a little like a beach towel.
23:57What?
23:58No, stop.
23:59Yeah.
24:00Wow.
24:01The winner of Project Runway All-Stars will receive the opportunity to design an exclusive
24:07line of jewelry for bobblebar.com, the final say in fashion jewelry.
24:12A capsule footwear collection by Chinese Laundry.
24:15A fashion spread in Marie Claire and a position at the magazine as contributing editor.
24:20From Brothers Sewing and Embroidery, a complete sewing studio to launch their line.
24:25And to elevate their business and build their brand, a cash prize of $100,000.
24:35Hi, designers.
24:36Hi.
24:37Hi.
24:38So this week, we surprised you with a bait and stitch to see how well you could create evening
24:45resort wear using fabric originally chosen by another designer.
24:50Let's meet tonight's judges.
24:52First, co-founder and designer of Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
24:55Hi, designers.
24:56Hi, Georgina.
24:57Thanks.
24:58Next, one of the most iconic names in American fashion, Isaac Mizrahi.
25:03Hi, girls.
25:05Hey.
25:06Our guest judge has gained a cult-like following thanks to roles on Broadway in Wicked, 9 to
25:125, and Gentleman Prefer Blondes, and on TV as the leading lady of a musical about Marilyn
25:17Monroe in Smash.
25:19Now back on Broadway in Noises Off, say hello to Megan Hilde.
25:24Hi.
25:25I'm so excited to be here.
25:28The judges and I are looking for interesting uses of fabric in your evening resort wear.
25:33And this is a blind runway, so we won't know who is responsible for the designs until after
25:37the show.
25:38Okay, good luck.
25:41I made my own fabric.
25:47I love my look.
25:49I love the striping.
25:50The drape is gorgeous.
25:52I'm very happy with my look this week.
25:55I am at a loss for words for how good my dress looks.
26:11She is walking down the Lido deck at a cruise ship.
26:15I mean, I would wear that dress.
26:18My model looks great in this jumpsuit.
26:19It's comfortable, it's easy, and it's simple.
26:23She looks like the girl I'd want to be.
26:24I think she looks like the girl that a lot of girls would want to be.
26:30He looks so pretty.
26:31I love the way it flows.
26:32It's so beautiful.
26:33It's so feminine and sexy.
26:35The only thing I can see that the hem on the side is a little longer than the rest of
26:37the jumpsuit.
26:38And I'm hoping that it won't be an issue.
27:03I'm actually really excited.
27:13It looks more expensive than denim.
27:15The print looks interesting too.
27:17It makes it flirty and fun.
27:18That is very young and fresh.
27:22I think she looks adorable.
27:28You know, the little skirts kind of flirty and fun.
27:33The top, I feel, is very me and I really like it.
27:47I hate that I didn't have enough time to finish the front portion the way I want it.
27:51But I'm happy with what I accomplished.
27:53She looks like my girl, so I won't complain too much.
27:56Yes.
28:03I'm really excited that I actually sent something down the runway and she's not naked.
28:12It gives me that she is at a resort, but not evening.
28:16But you know what?
28:17At least I sent something down the runway, so I'm happy with that.
28:21I'm a little nervous because it's really simple.
28:28It should be dramatic and very interesting.
28:30You know, I don't do color like this.
28:32Yeah, you don't do neon.
28:34Mm-mm.
28:35But hopefully the judges get my point and I know for sure they're going to see me in this look.
28:40Designers, that was a beautiful runway and it shows that you can cope with anything that we throw at you.
28:55Congratulations.
28:58And now if I call your name, please step forward.
29:00Keeney, Alexander, Asha, your designs have kept you in the competition, which means you're safe.
29:12Thank you, we'll see you next week.
29:13Thank you very much.
29:14It was so great this week, really.
29:15You should know.
29:16Fabulous.
29:19The rest of you have the highest and lowest scores.
29:24One of you is the winner this week and one of you will be going home tonight.
29:33I just want to say one thing to everybody.
29:35There's a vibrancy and like a color that's coming at us this week that isn't dreary.
29:40Am I right, girls?
29:41Yes, 100%.
29:42This is amazing.
29:44Hi, Ken.
29:45Tell us about your evening resort wear look.
29:47I pulled Asha's neoprene and I was a little hesitant because those colors just basically scared me.
29:53The textile, it was reading a little sporty, so I wanted to create a more elegant silhouette.
29:59I know that this is you.
30:01You have a very, very clear aesthetic.
30:03I do think the drape is a little bit heavy on the top and I know that you have a better hand than that.
30:08I'm crazy about this dress.
30:10I don't think it's heavy on the top and I love the color, so please don't be afraid of colors like this.
30:16I love that you took a super, super sporty looking fabric and made this elegant evening dress.
30:23I love the color.
30:24I love the shape.
30:25I love the texture.
30:26I could see you in that dress.
30:27I would die to wear it.
30:29You'd look good in that dress.
30:32Hi, Valerie.
30:33So I wanted something that was fresh and modern but effortless and relaxed.
30:37I was really lucky to get Liana's fabric.
30:39It was lightweight cotton.
30:40I think this is really a sweet jumpsuit.
30:42Can you do a little spin for us?
30:45And the back detail is sweet.
30:47Perhaps a touch heavy on those pieces on the back.
30:50Maybe it's the interfacing you've got in there feels a little cardboard-like.
30:55I don't love this.
30:57I feel like it's way too simple for today.
31:00The only thing evening about it is the cleavage maybe.
31:03Okay.
31:04The hem on the bottom of the pant seems a little, I'll use Georgina's word, unresolved.
31:09The only thing for me is that the space in the neckline for me is just a little bit too wide for how low it goes.
31:16If the pockets came off, the necklace came off, the headwear came off, and you just really kind of committed to the idea of what that was.
31:24I'm supposed to be.
31:25I knew you were going to say that.
31:26Hi, Liana.
31:27I was lucky to end up with Ken's fabric, which is silk charmeuse.
31:31And to add a little bit of the drama when she walks with the jumpsuit, I added, like, the godet to the side.
31:37When she walks, it's great that she's in this palazzo jumpsuit.
31:40But I wrote flats because I thought, like, just the whole attitude of something that kind of shiny.
31:48You have to throw it off. I'm sorry.
31:50I love the back. It's gorgeous.
31:52And I loved how beautifully the fabric moved.
31:55But the top comes in just a little too close for me.
31:59In regards to the length, it is looking like a bit of a mistake.
32:02So I think Isaac's solution of either doing a flat or whether you cropped it at some weird modern length or had it to the floor.
32:09I almost did that.
32:11Dom, you're next.
32:13I had Valerie's fabric, and she had all different types of linens.
32:16So I decided to piece them together to create my own textile.
32:19It's amazing that you pieced those stripes, right?
32:22Wait, hold on. You pieced the, it was a striped fabric?
32:24No, it's a pieced stripe.
32:25No, they were two separate fabrics.
32:26No, stop.
32:27And I striped them together.
32:28Yeah.
32:29That's incredible. Wow.
32:30And that incredible addition of a black and white stripe at the waist, I don't know what made you think of that, but that instinct is golden.
32:37Can you do a little spin?
32:38What I really like is how you've played between the skirt and your top.
32:43From the back, the skirt's simple, and now your interest is in your top.
32:47And when she turns, the top is so simple, and then the skirt is what you're playing with.
32:52It's so beautiful. You took my breath away when you hit the runway. It's just stunning.
32:58To me, the way you've pieced together those stripes, it looks a little like a beach towel.
33:03Slightly on purpose.
33:04Slightly on purpose.
33:05Yes.
33:06Thought it'd be really kind of cool to do a tongue-in-cheek play, because it is resort.
33:10Let's move on to Emily.
33:12So, I wanted her to be, like, fun and whimsical, but still have, like, an edge to her.
33:17I got Alexander's fabric, which he had to pick upholstery.
33:20I think it's tough having a crop top that shows your belly button with a cutout, with a short.
33:26Did you have any more of what you made the skirt out of?
33:29I had five yards of this.
33:30I wish you'd put more into that skirt. It feels a little mean.
33:33This polyorganic just wasn't laying right, and I got really frustrated.
33:37Then I had to redo the whole thing again, so this is my third piece.
33:41Which I'm actually happy with it.
33:44Well, good.
33:45I mean, I had a really hard time with this challenge.
33:48I get an attitude here, which I really like, and good for you for putting something out there that's a little bit more of a risk.
33:54I really love that top. I would never guess that that was upholstery fabric.
33:58I think it would be really cute as, like, this little crop top and matching shorts.
34:02I wish that the short was just high waisted.
34:05Yeah.
34:06There's a lot of skin, and I don't think that that's what you, in particular, would ever go for.
34:11Yeah.
34:12Okay, Sam, it's time to hear from you.
34:14So I got Keeney's brocade. I really fought with it, and it, like, started winning.
34:19So I switched from this original brocade that I had and started draping this whole new dress.
34:24I like that you used brocade, but it doesn't look, like, scary and heavy and brocade-like.
34:29Great.
34:30Can I see the back, please?
34:32It just looks very homemade in not a great way.
34:36Okay.
34:37I love this dress. I love the open back, but, um, I could do without the slit in the front.
34:44There's a freedom to what you do that I really appreciate.
34:47From the side profile, when she's walking down the runway, I quite liked the attitude of this piece of fabric.
34:53Thank you, designers. The judges and I have a lot to discuss.
34:56We're gonna deliberate, and we will call you back. You can leave the runway.
35:02Hey.
35:05Hey.
35:06Hey, dudes.
35:07So who's in the top?
35:08Dom and Ken and Sam.
35:10First, I thought I had a high score. So, I mean, like, I don't know.
35:13I was very happy. Like, they, they really liked it.
35:16Dom made this look entirely on her own, except for the use of my fabric.
35:19And then when they found out that she had made the stripe, they flipped out.
35:22Oh, yeah, they didn't want to believe that I made it.
35:24But I can't take any credit for it, because that's not the challenge.
35:28What a great, colorful runway. And you had to see their faces yesterday when I gave them the twist. They were terrified.
35:37I think they become more creative when something's thrown out of the box, and they have to rethink on their feet.
35:42That's what design is. Design is solving problems.
35:45Well, let's talk about our favorite looks. Let's start with Sam.
35:48I liked Sam's a lot when it was moving. It had a wonderful buoyancy and lightness to it, especially coming from a brocade.
35:55I approach this as obviously not a professional who knows how to design clothes, but the wearability of it.
36:02And that is something that I would love to wear.
36:05It bored me. Did it? It really did. It bored me. I feel like we've seen that silhouette a million times.
36:10I thought the most interesting thing about it was the fabric, and that wasn't even his choice.
36:15I loved it. I thought there was a freshness to it and a lightness to it, and I wasn't bored.
36:22Okay, let's talk about Ken. I loved the texture and the color so much.
36:27I thought he was really clever in the way he used that sporty fabric and made this incredible evening dress.
36:33It felt expensive, considered right.
36:37It was a brilliant concept, but I think knowing Ken, I was expecting a little bit more from him.
36:44When I look at the three top scores, the freshness and lightness of Sam's dress and Ken's dress beat a little bit out Dom's kind of dress.
36:54I totally disagree.
36:55I know you do.
36:56Let's talk about Dom then.
36:57The look of Dom's passage with the necklace, with the earrings, with the drape and the striped belt and everything, it's a lot.
37:04Out of all of the looks today, if I had to pick one person to see the entire collection, I would pick Dom.
37:10I love the back and that drape and the belt is amazing.
37:16Let's move on to the least successful looks. Let's talk about Valerie.
37:21I do feel that this is a perfectly good jumpsuit. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with it.
37:26I love the back. It was one of the things that made me really interested in it.
37:30It felt weirdly like retro to me. Yeah.
37:32Not vintage. I like vintage and I don't like retro.
37:35And I wanted it to have more of a retro feel. I wanted it to be like more of like a Studio 54 type jumpsuit.
37:43Let's discuss Layana.
37:44There were some proportion issues, like you said, the way it was cut at the bus line. Yeah.
37:49If you're going to do a bias thing and you're going to do something that's so like weird, beautifully narrow at top, why all that construction? You know what I mean?
37:55There was something very young. You had to be completely flat chested and probably 18 to wear it.
38:00Just like me. Flat chested and 18.
38:05Emily.
38:06There is a rigor to the way Emily thinks again and again.
38:09I'm with you on that. I actually gave Emily one of the lowest scores.
38:12However, when she stood there, there's an attitude of this girl that was the most exciting.
38:17If anybody on that runway.
38:19I would nominate Emily to be taken out of the bottom.
38:21I agree with that.
38:22Would you agree with that?
38:23Yes.
38:25So our bottom two is between Valerie and Layana.
38:29I just like Layana's jumpsuit better.
38:31I agree.
38:32I just think it's a more interesting silhouette. Valerie, she's lost herself.
38:36I think that there's a taste issue with Layana.
38:39I hate this because they're all such all stars.
38:42It's really hard.
38:44So we know who we're sending home and we all agree.
38:52Designers, one of you is the winner of this week's challenge and one of you will be eliminated tonight.
38:58Sam, you're safe. We'll see you next week.
39:08Thank you so much, guys.
39:11Ken and Dom, one of you is the winner of this week's challenge.
39:15And we have a surprise for the winner.
39:18Megan Hilty has agreed to wear the winning design at her next Broadway event.
39:23Megan, would you like to do the honors?
39:26I would love to.
39:28The winning designer is...
39:33Dom.
39:35Congratulations.
39:36Thank you, guys.
39:38I am so excited to wear your stunning dress.
39:40An honor.
39:41Thank you so much.
39:43Congratulations, Dom.
39:45And well done to you too, Ken.
39:47Both of you are safe.
39:48You can leave the runway.
39:50Good luck.
39:51Congratulations.
39:52It's nice to, like, love the work that you put down the runway.
39:55Hey, who won?
39:57Yay!
39:59Finally!
40:00But it's even nicer when you get that feedback from the judges and they embrace something that you really love.
40:07Oh, I'm so happy.
40:11Emily, you had a low score, but you are safe.
40:22Layana and Valerie.
40:23The designer eliminated tonight is...
40:25Valerie.
40:26That means, Layana, you remain in the competition and you can leave the runway.
40:44Thank you so much for being on All Stars.
40:47You're wonderful.
40:48Bye.
40:49I really thought when I came into this competition, like, I knew I was stronger.
40:50I knew I was better.
40:51I knew I was wiser.
40:52I'm not surprised.
40:53I thought I had a chance.
40:54I really did.
40:55This was not the challenge I wanted to go home on.
40:59Sorry that you felt that way.
41:00Sorry.
41:01It just hurts.
41:02But it'll go away and it's not the end-all be-all.
41:04It just hurts my heart a little bit.
41:06Next, on Project Runway All Stars.
41:08I am the winner of Project Runway All Stars.
41:11I am the winner of Project Runway All Stars.
41:14I am Tinkerbell.
41:15I love a real mad tea party.
41:16I am Alice.
41:17I've always wanted to design for fairy tales.
41:30I'll just keep shutting you down on the runway.
41:32Time.
41:33I love a real mad tea party.
