00:00Previously on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:03Your challenge is to design performance outfits for the stage.
00:08I smell face off.
00:09Dun, dun, dun.
00:11You are my friend.
00:13Until the runway tomorrow.
00:15They said face off and that bitch turned into a gargle.
00:17Keep an eye on that buddy right behind me.
00:19Stanley will be a great competitor.
00:21It's gonna be a serious battle.
00:22I don't give a that it's head to head today.
00:24As much as I love Fabio, I'm gonna cream him.
00:27I really love this forward thinking look.
00:31The front gives me that show girly thing where the back looks like gym shorts.
00:36Ken, you won your face off.
00:38This is really cute.
00:39The proportions are really great.
00:41This outfit, there's just something renaissance fair about it.
00:45Fabio, you got the high score.
00:48Edmund, this look screamed rock and roll.
00:51Stanley, it looks like a men's tie to me.
00:53It's reading like a cheerleading outfit.
00:55Edmund, you are the winner of your fashion face off.
00:59The winning designer this week is...
01:01Edmund.
01:03Are you serious?
01:05The designer eliminated tonight is...
01:09Helen.
01:10Whoa.
01:12This is Project Runway All Stars.
01:17Hi.
01:18That's really cute.
01:19Super cute.
01:20Good morning, designers.
01:21Good morning.
01:22Congratulations.
01:23You've made it to the final five.
01:24Yes.
01:25So I have a question.
01:26How does your All Stars experience differ from your time on Project Runway?
01:40You know what, Alyssa?
01:41I think that Project Runway is where you find out who you are as a designer and Project Runway
01:47All Stars is where you show who you are as a designer.
01:49Ooh.
01:50I like that answer.
01:51We're gonna go with that.
01:53To help set this week's challenge, we are joined by someone very familiar with your work.
01:59Oh, my God.
02:00It's Nina.
02:01It is.
02:02Let's see who it is.
02:03Even before I see the silhouette, it's kind of like that Godzilla step.
02:06Like, you feel the ground shaking underneath you.
02:07Oh, yeah.
02:08Yeah.
02:09It's Nina.
02:10Hello, designers.
02:11Hi, Nina.
02:12Hi, Alyssa.
02:13Hi, Alyssa.
02:14Here we go.
02:15Nice to see you.
02:16Of course, it's creative director of Marie Claire Magazine, Nina Garcia.
02:19Well done.
02:20You're welcome.
02:21You're welcome.
02:22You're welcome.
02:23You're welcome.
02:24You're welcome.
02:25You're welcome.
02:26You're welcome.
02:27Claire Magazine, Nina Garcia.
02:29Welcome back to All Stars, Nina.
02:30Hi.
02:32I love Nina.
02:33She was really good to me on my season of Project Runway.
02:35Her advice is straightforward.
02:36If she doesn't like it, she doesn't like it.
02:38She has a really strong eye, and I trust that.
02:40I've got a great opportunity for you.
02:42Okay.
02:43Okay.
02:44Video games have become more than entertainment.
02:46They're now a significant part of our culture.
02:49They influence film, television, and fashion.
02:52Designers are collaborating with gaming companies to create incredible designs.
02:57And you are the next generation of designers to work with this trend.
03:02Okay.
03:03This week, we are teaming up with one of the most successful gaming apps of all time.
03:09Candy Crush.
03:10Candy Crush!
03:11Yeah!
03:12I'm obsessed.
03:13Me too.
03:14I'm so obsessed with Candy Crush that I would miss a subway stop deliberately so I can finish my level.
03:20Here to tell us more is the narrative designer for the Candy Crush franchise, Yonah Ingalls.
03:26Yeah.
03:27Hi.
03:28Oh, love you all, buddy.
03:29Hi.
03:30I don't know anything about Candy Crush.
03:32I know that it has something to do with colors and a game, but I have no idea.
03:36And at this point, I definitely don't have an advantage.
03:39Candy Crush has millions of players around the world on all seven continents, even Antarctica.
03:46Wow.
03:47Each episode of the game takes place in a different land of Candy Kingdom.
03:52Every one of them overflowing with candies good enough to eat.
03:56Okay, so Nina, tell us about this week's challenge.
03:58Your challenge this week is to create a resort where look inspired by a land within the game of Candy Crush.
04:08Inside the workroom, you are all going to play one level of Candy Crush.
04:14Just one?
04:15The designer with the highest score will be the first to choose the land that will inspire their look.
04:22Wow.
04:23Your budget this week is $200.
04:25And you have one day in the workroom.
04:27And have fun.
04:29Yes.
04:30And Candy Crush has a really exciting prize for you.
04:33The winner of this week's challenge will get the opportunity to collaborate on a fashion design with King, the creators of Candy Crush.
04:40And will showcase their design on a press preview here in New York.
04:43Wow.
04:44So designers, Nina will be joining the judges this week.
04:47Oh.
04:50So we will see you on the runway tomorrow.
04:52Good luck.
04:53Good luck.
04:55Good luck, designers.
05:01Oh, wow.
05:05That is cute.
05:08Okay, here we go.
05:09It's on.
05:10And go.
05:13Come on now.
05:14I'm coming.
05:16I have never played Candy Crush.
05:18I'm just trying to match up and get three in a row and pop lock up.
05:22I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
05:24I can't concentrate.
05:25I can't look at the numbers and the candy.
05:27Um.
05:29Okay, five seconds.
05:30Five seconds.
05:31One, two, one, two, one.
05:32Hold on.
05:33Stop talking.
05:34You done made me last five.
05:35Stop talking.
05:37Dang.
05:39Ooh.
05:41What you got?
05:42I got the highest score.
05:43I beat everyone probably like by 50,000 points almost.
05:48So I picked the first destination.
05:50I'll take Brule Bay Beach Resort Wear.
05:54I'm going to get Taffy Tropics Tropical Resort Wear.
05:59I'm third, so I'm going to choose Lemonade Lake Lakeside Resort Wear.
06:05I don't know nothing about no damn mountains though.
06:08I'm going to go with Sticky Savannah Safari Resort Wear.
06:14All right, so that means I get the last one.
06:16I'm picking last and pretty much this is what I get.
06:19Marshmallow Mountain Resort.
06:21I think Resort Wear means relax.
06:23It means vacation.
06:25It means travel.
06:26And my girl's going on an African safari.
06:29So I'm designing what's starting out to be a beautiful little romper situation
06:34because it is hot in Africa, I'm thinking.
06:37Did you want Marshmallow Mountain?
06:40That's the one you wanted?
06:41Yeah, this is the one I wanted.
06:42Nice.
06:43I'm thinking about this girl who is going on a trip with some of her girlfriends.
06:48They're all really excited about going skiing.
06:50So I'm creating this ultra fitted scuba knit ski suit.
06:54It's black but I want to incorporate like a pop of color somewhere.
06:58My girl is actually hosting a party at the Hamptons.
07:02So I want to make a lightweight cigarette pant and a top.
07:05The bodice is going to drape and just flow from the back.
07:09Time's up guys.
07:10It's time to go to move.
07:11Okay.
07:12Come on Stanley.
07:13All right.
07:18All right designers, we have 30 minutes to shop.
07:20Got it.
07:22Stop following me now.
07:24I'm not following you.
07:25I'm chasing you.
07:26Here it is.
07:27Yeah, this looks resort.
07:28I come up with the back story of this character is a city girl who retreats to her lake house.
07:36That's gorgeous too.
07:37Woo.
07:39Going on a limb here.
07:40I'm making a dress, a really pretty beautiful flowy printed dress with really pretty colors.
07:45And I'm also pairing it with a pant, which hasn't been seen before.
07:48I don't think in Project Runway.
07:50I'm going to keep pulling fabrics till I find one I'm in love with.
07:54Love is color.
07:57I end up with the Taffy Tropic and I want to make a jumpsuit.
08:00And I'm just really thinking of what a Brazilian girl would wear for New Year's Eve at the beach.
08:06It's evening, but it's still a summer night.
08:08So it's easy, airy, but very sophisticated.
08:11All right designers, we have five minutes left.
08:13We have five minutes left.
08:15That's it.
08:16I'm just pulling to find the love of my life.
08:19I selected this eyelid because I always try to go with what speaks to me.
08:23And I'm really motivated by the shapes within the material.
08:26Can I get three of this?
08:28I'm thinking definitely a tech fabric.
08:31Somewhat breathable, but will also retain heat.
08:34Doing the color thing again, but it's just actually accent.
08:37So it's not going to be a lot of that.
08:38Just need a little piece of that.
08:40What are you making?
08:41A jumpsuit.
08:43I'm making a jumpsuit too.
08:44Are you?
08:45I'm making a wide leg jumpsuit.
08:47I am too.
08:48Are you really?
08:50Uh oh.
08:51Are you color blocking?
08:52Hell no.
08:53Okay.
08:55Thank you boo.
08:56Thank you boo.
08:57Were you being my holding spray standing?
08:59Yeah I was being your holding spray.
09:04Candy crush it.
09:07Candy crush it.
09:08That's for real.
09:14Not a lot of us left in here.
09:16Realizing that there's only five designers left in the workroom is like a wake up call.
09:20And there are three positions that are held for the finale show and I'm that close to it.
09:25I'm trying to do something different since I was on the bottom last week.
09:28I was on the bottom too.
09:30I just sweat so much when I'm on the bottom.
09:33Child.
09:34You know Stanley's stone wide pants too.
09:36Really?
09:37He was doing a skirt.
09:38I saw his sketch.
09:39Well I used to paint draped over them.
09:42You making pants?
09:43I'm making a pants and dress.
09:45Damn Stan that's what I'm doing.
09:46I just think like in the previous challenges we've been doing so many gowns.
09:52And we all just wanted to come up with something that involved a pant.
09:55I think everyone's doing pants though right?
09:57Looks like it.
09:58Yeah.
09:59Are you short sleeve or sleeveless?
10:01Sleeveless.
10:02Is it flowy or stiff?
10:03Flowy.
10:04Damn it man.
10:05One of the reasons why I wanted to create this is because I wanted it to stand out.
10:09And now it's like oh .
10:13Every time we say something we're doing the same thing.
10:16Unbelievable.
10:18Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
10:21I want to put a pant underneath.
10:23Damn Stanley.
10:25Helen Keller can see this man is struggling.
10:28If I were wearing this I'd ditch the pants.
10:30Who cares about being warm when you look fabulous?
10:32Pants day.
10:39So what's your color blocking?
10:41The top?
10:42I don't know if I'm color blocking it anymore.
10:45In my head the way that I saw these fabrics working together was more of a color block situation.
10:49But as I draped this over the mannequin I see that the fabrics are really pretty on their own.
10:54So this is the under pant and then the red is going to go over it.
10:57So instead of like seaming and color blocking I'm going to go with a solid block of pink on one side.
11:02And a solid block of orange on the other side.
11:04Very Fabio-ish.
11:05But we'll see.
11:09It's fried chicken.
11:13Pants.
11:14It's baked chicken.
11:15Maybe.
11:16It's cornbread.
11:18I'll be there.
11:24Hi boys.
11:25Hi.
11:26So glad to be back and to see five of you in the room today.
11:31Nina and I have worked together at Mary Claire for a very long time.
11:34And I know what Nina likes.
11:36And more importantly I know what she doesn't like.
11:39So I will be your Nina whisperer today.
11:42And I can't wait to see what resorts you're designing for.
11:45Edwin we're going to start with you.
11:46So where are we going?
11:47The mountain resort look.
11:48Oh okay.
11:49I'm creating a ski jumpsuit.
11:51I'm aware that you're doing a mountain look but it doesn't actually have to be the actual piece of athletic equipment.
11:56Okay.
11:57It could be her apres ski look.
11:58It could be what she wears in the middle of the day for lunch.
12:00I was thinking something that she could actually use whether she's walking her dog or doing whatever.
12:05And that's that ski look.
12:06Ann is trying to offer Edwin different options and he's not hearing it.
12:09He has no idea what apres ski is.
12:12Hopefully it turns out well.
12:13Good luck Edwin.
12:14Okay.
12:16Hey Stanley.
12:17Where are we going today?
12:18Where's your resort?
12:19We're going to her lake resort.
12:20Oh.
12:21She has a lake house.
12:22Oh I love that.
12:23I want to create a dress with some volume.
12:25And I want to put a pant underneath.
12:28I know.
12:29I just want you to keep in mind that at resorts you want to feel easy.
12:32Yes.
12:33And also that luxurious elegant ease is very Neena.
12:37Expensive and editorial she would like drive into us.
12:40Yes.
12:41So I'm also thinking of making a huge almost like scarf tie.
12:45I don't.
12:46So many plans.
12:47I know.
12:48And so little time.
12:49I know.
12:50I know.
12:51Focus.
12:52Good luck.
12:53Trisha I'm listening to you.
12:54So Ann tells me to stick to one thing and make it really simple as it is resort.
12:55So I have to make some decisions.
12:56So what's your resort?
12:57Where are you going?
12:58So my resort is Sticky Savannah.
13:00Mm-hmm.
13:01Wait.
13:02Hold on.
13:03Is it the safari?
13:04I'm about to say Sahara Desert.
13:05I don't think that you sound that confident in the resort that we're going to.
13:09Just tell me one more time where you're going.
13:11You've never gotten it.
13:13I am going to the Savannah African Sahara Desert.
13:17Nope.
13:18You know what?
13:19I'm going to write a sign that's going to say safari so I can have a point of reference
13:23and remain focused.
13:24So we're doing safari resort wear.
13:26I'm doing this kind of short romper out of this beautiful eyelet fabric.
13:30This fabric is amazing.
13:32I want to do something that will cover her but like breathe at the same time.
13:35Yeah.
13:36I've never found the perfect safari jacket.
13:37You need to make that one.
13:38Well, I'll work on it for you.
13:39Okay.
13:40I'm really going to listen to Ann's advice because I don't know exactly.
13:44You know, it may help a girl out.
13:46In my neighborhood, a safari is a stripper.
13:49What are we doing in yellow today?
13:51Where are we going?
13:52Well, I am going to a beach resort.
13:55My girl will be hosting the party and I will be draping in the remaining of the fabric similar
14:01to what this is doing on the bias.
14:03Okay.
14:04Nina will really respond to tailoring.
14:05Yes, she loves tailoring.
14:06She loves tailoring.
14:07She loves cut.
14:08She pays attention to the details, the finishing.
14:10And is it all going to be yellow?
14:11Yes.
14:12I've seen you work wonders with yellow before.
14:15Yes.
14:16Your finale of your last season.
14:17Yes, yes.
14:18It was great.
14:19Yellow's been a lucky color for you, so good luck.
14:20Thank you so much.
14:22So I want this to be like a girl going to Brazil for the first time.
14:25But do you think that you'd get a little hot wearing pants and this quite heavy gown?
14:29Well, some of the nights are cool, especially in Brazil.
14:31Nina's from Colombia.
14:32Yeah.
14:33So she's going to have a sense of whether or not this is really going to work in her economy.
14:35Definitely, yeah.
14:36Is this going to drape as she walks or this is going to be cut off here?
14:39Oh, no, it's going to drape.
14:40If I were wearing this, I'd ditch the pants.
14:42But then I'd be exposed in the back, right?
14:44Yeah.
14:45Good luck, Fabio.
14:47Who cares about being warm when you look fabulous?
14:49Pants day.
14:50Resort is really a state of mind.
14:52And some of these looks are, frankly, a little fussy.
14:55And with only five of you left in the competition, you've really got to do something to stand out,
15:00especially with Nina Garcia watching.
15:02So good luck.
15:03Thanks, Anne.
15:04Thank you, Anne.
15:10How you coming along, Ed, man?
15:12I'm going along.
15:13It looked like you was about to abort your jumpsuit for a minute.
15:15And I was like, don't do that.
15:17I mean, you have all these different people coming from left, right, here and there with
15:20all these different opinions.
15:21So I have to really think about the input that Anne gives us in the mentorship.
15:26So that's a lot.
15:27I just got to fit it to her before I put the detail on it.
15:29Yeah, and just don't lose the fashion.
15:31Yeah.
15:32Listen, Helen Keller can see that this man is struggling with this scuba suit.
15:37Oh, that's tricky.
15:39Hi, baby.
15:41Ooh.
15:42Candy Crush.
15:43You know the game?
15:44Yes, I am.
15:45Yes.
15:46I don't want it to pop here.
15:49This one needs to be really tailored because I feel like the heaviness is in the bottom.
15:54So I'm bringing the waist in on the dress because I want her figure to be really outlined.
15:58All right.
15:59This is so much better.
16:01I have to add the color and I can just do strips.
16:05It's a good fit, but I am concerned somewhat about the crotch area.
16:10And I know that my model has a longer torso, and I have to kind of like build into that
16:15in regards to making it proper.
16:16Modern, chic, fashion forward.
16:20Wow.
16:21Those are good.
16:23These pants fit my model like a glove.
16:27Complete perfection.
16:28And the fabrication is just amazing.
16:30I swear I just like this toe showing too, huh?
16:33This is most definitely too long.
16:35So far, so good.
16:36My model fitting is going extremely well.
16:38I mean, I'm sweating.
16:39Oh, bitch, am I down here on the floor sweating?
16:42But I must definitely feel good about my look.
16:46So you're basically hosting a party at the Hamptons.
16:50It looks like everything is fitting to perfection.
16:53The only changes I'm going to make based off of my model fitting is adding a Godet in the hem of the pant.
16:58I like the fact of it just being a straight pant versus a cigarette style.
17:02So I'm going to move forward in that direction.
17:05Bye, gorgeous.
17:06Bye.
17:07All right, guys.
17:08We've got two hours left.
17:09We've got two hours of sewing left.
17:11Let me go over here and finish Dan working.
17:16Yeah, I've got to finish my pants.
17:18I want to spend a lot of time in the brother's sewing room to make sure the construction is perfect and everything looks flawless because Nina will read me and I don't want that.
17:28Fabio.
17:29Yeah.
17:30Proportions.
17:31Does that look?
17:32Your pocket has to be smaller.
17:34That's what I was thinking.
17:35I have to put my zipper in, do my finishing on my arm holes, attach my skirt to my mock vest bodice.
17:44I'm really getting fed up with this pocket situation.
17:47I just have so much to do.
17:49All right, I'm going to go finish mine.
17:51Bye, boo.
17:54off, Stanley.
17:55Damn, Stanley.
17:57That looks nice.
17:58Everything has to be hand sewn, pinned, then clipped with the pinking shear, then pressed on the inside, then hand sew that, then yeah.
18:07I only have two hours in the morning and it can't have any error.
18:10So this is a risk.
18:12I might have a lot of hamming to do.
18:17I love Stanley's look and that makes me anxious because we have a similar concept.
18:22Is that all you have to do?
18:23Um, I don't want to put my zipper until I fit it on her again.
18:26So I just really have to make sure that I execute this perfectly because I know that Stanley is going to impress the judges.
18:32It's a lot.
18:33But it's going to be so worth it in the end.
18:35All right, guys, that's it.
18:37End of the day.
18:38Time to go home.
18:39Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
18:46I have the bubble guts.
18:48This is the challenge that I got eliminated in my All-Star season.
18:51I don't think the airman's choice of color really matters at this point.
18:54A scuba suit is a scuba suit.
18:56I am feeling good.
18:57I do realize that there's a lot that needs to be done.
19:11I need to hem the pant, do a little hand sewing, and figure out where I'm going to incorporate this element of fur into the look.
19:23My hem ain't the best, but it's going to have to do Jesus.
19:27I have the bubble guts where I know I'm in a good place, but at the same time, there's nothing I can do to this look to change it around.
19:34I love my design, but at the same time, when I love my design this much, it makes me really anxious because usually when I go all out, the judges are like, okay, you went way too far.
19:43I love. Good morning.
19:46Good morning, beautiful.
19:47I think that the judges are going to respond really well.
19:50I hope they understand the woman, where she's going, what she's doing, and really appreciate the fit.
19:56I want to make sure when you walk, it just moves with your body.
19:59I don't think the airman's choice of color really matters at this point.
20:03A scuba suit is a scuba suit.
20:05A scuba suit is something you should wear to the damn ocean, not to the mountains.
20:10I mean, I don't know.
20:11Maybe she's going to jump off the mountain and to an ocean.
20:14I don't know.
20:15All right, let me get you to walk now.
20:17Hello.
20:18Welcome to the rodeo glam room.
20:20I need her to look fresh, like she has money.
20:22It's hyaluronic tonic, and what it does is it smooths, and it's a wonderful base to start with.
20:28You know you got my girl down pat.
20:29So she's going skiing, she's meeting up with some friends.
20:32Got a wonderful color from rodeo called Copacabana.
20:35Really wonderful, fresh look.
20:37Love it.
20:38Welcome to Umberto's salon.
20:40She's going to a beach resort.
20:41I want to keep her real fresh, so I think I just want to basically mold her hair down.
20:46I think we'll use some of Umberto's Roman oil.
20:48Okay.
20:49And then finish her off with a shine mist.
20:51Okay.
20:52My inspiration is Lake Cuomo, so I'm thinking of Mal Clooney.
20:54Soft, big curls.
20:56All right, guys, we have one hour left.
20:59You're going to be warm.
21:02Don't you look beautiful?
21:05I found these amazing blue strappy sandals at the intermixed accessory wall.
21:11It's going to pair very good with my Sartreuse fabric.
21:13Isaac always talks about finding the humor within styling it in your garment, and I think this is the humor.
21:19Yeah.
21:20All right, designers, we have five minutes left.
21:24That fits like a glove, girl.
21:27This seems like a lot of fabric.
21:30I don't understand why the dress wasn't enough, and then there's a hat.
21:34I mean, it's very intense.
21:36I mean...
21:37You look good, Alma.
21:40With all of the looks that I've seen going out, Anthony's would be the most resort.
21:45You want it tighter?
21:46No.
21:47I totally see Ken's girl going to a beach resort.
21:50I mean, there's so many places where this can resonate.
21:52It's just a really simple design with a major, major effect.
21:56All right, designers, that is time.
21:57Let's head to the runway.
21:59You can just do the hands in the pocket.
22:02Going to the runway today is really hard for me because this is the challenge that I got eliminated in my all-star season.
22:08This is also deciding the top four, and I want to get to that place.
22:13Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
22:17That's rather chic.
22:18Where's the color?
22:19This is supposed to be about Candy Crush.
22:21She looks like a nurse.
22:22The crotch looks like she's packing a penis.
22:25How big, man.
22:26The winner of Project Runway All-Stars will receive a fashion spread of Marie Claire and a position at the magazine as contributing editor.
22:36An inspiring trip for two to fashion capital, London, England.
22:40And luxurious skincare and makeup for their debut show and beyond, all provided by Rodial.
22:45From Intermix, accessories and styling services to enhance their next collection.
22:50From Brother Sewing and Embroidery, a complete sewing and crafting studio to launch their line.
22:56And to elevate their business and build their brand, a cash prize of $100,000.
23:05Oh.
23:06Hi.
23:07Hello.
23:08Hello, hello.
23:09Nice.
23:10This week we joined forces with one of the biggest mobile gaming brands of all time, Candy Crush.
23:15You were challenged to design resort wear inspired by different lands within the game.
23:21Here are tonight's judges.
23:23First, co-founder and designer of luxury brand Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
23:27Hello.
23:28Hello.
23:30Next, one of the most iconic names in American fashion, Mr. Isaac Mizrahi.
23:34Hi, Isaac.
23:35Over-accessorized again, sorry.
23:37And the first guest has critiqued your work before, but now that you're all stars, she's
23:44going to be tougher than ever.
23:47It's creative director of Marie Claire, Nina Garcia.
23:51Hi, everyone.
23:52Hi.
23:53Hi, everyone.
23:54And our next guest is a fashion designer, performer, and trendsetter.
23:58She's regularly front row at Fashion Weeks Worldwide and was recently a judge on Project
24:04Runway Jr.
24:05And we're so happy to have her here on All Stars.
24:08Please welcome Kelly Osborne.
24:10Hi, Kelly.
24:11Hi, designers.
24:12Hi.
24:13Can I just say it is so incredible to see five men in front of me.
24:17I've never done a show like this where it come down to the final five single men.
24:21History has been made.
24:22I agree.
24:23It is very incredible to see you.
24:28Nina and Kelly are both part of the Project Runway family, so the pressure is really on
24:32to impress.
24:33Have a great show.
24:35Good luck.
24:42Wow.
24:43The movement of the skirt and the sleeves are pure perfection.
24:46I am so happy that I put all that time in on hand work and just hand sewing all those
24:51seams and doing all those trench seams because it paid off.
24:54I think that easily this look can interchange into something else.
25:04She's on the ski slopes during the day, but at night if she wants to go somewhere she could
25:09put on a pair of heels and unzip it a little bit and it's still sexy.
25:24I don't do movement at all, but at the same time I'm trying to push myself a little bit
25:28more for the judges.
25:29So I love the fact that there's wind and life and breath coming away from my car mirror.
25:35I feel absolute pride consume my body.
25:36I like how polished it is and it's wearable and it has ease to it.
25:54You can't beat that for Safari.
26:01I'm a little torn because all I can notice is the flaws.
26:06I see that the fabric is heavy underneath.
26:08I see that when she walks the pink side goes out, but other than that the colors are beautiful
26:13and I know that a lot of girls would want to wear this.
26:33Designers, thank you for your resort wear this week.
26:36One of you is the winner of this week's challenge and one of you will be going home tonight.
26:43Ken, you're up first.
26:46Tell us about your resort wear look.
26:48Well, I beat everyone in the Candy Crush game and the first decision that I pulled was
26:53a beach resort.
26:54So I wanted to go in that direction, but I didn't want to do something that was like swimsuit
26:58and a cover-up.
26:59So I was thinking more like a Hamptons party.
27:01I really like this, Ken.
27:02You did a really wonderful job.
27:04I like the tailoring you've done.
27:06I think the pant fits very nicely.
27:08And I like the take on a sarong with the jumpsuit.
27:11I like your girl.
27:12Well done.
27:13Thank you so much.
27:14I think that you kind of nailed it with this look.
27:16It feels like juicy.
27:18My only concern is that the fabric seems a little heavy.
27:23Okay.
27:24I love this.
27:25I think the color is so great.
27:27Can you turn around?
27:29The one thing I will say is what you give up in terms of the beachiness when you use wool
27:35lycra.
27:36It goes a little bit away from beach resort.
27:39One thing that I wish because it was beach resort that the sarong was removable.
27:44Yeah, I can see that.
27:45Because that way it can just be a sleek jumpsuit.
27:48Mm-hmm.
27:49I want it.
27:50I want to be you.
27:51I just think this is exquisite.
27:52Thank you so much.
27:53I also love that you didn't do sort of like the hippy-dippy beachside thing.
27:57Yeah.
27:58My only criticism is the way in which the crease in the pant doesn't exactly line up
28:03with the center of the seam on the side of the pant.
28:06But otherwise, I think you did a beautiful job, Ken.
28:08Congratulations.
28:09Thank you so much.
28:10Edmund.
28:11Well, I received the last resort option, which was a mountain resort.
28:15And what I wanted to do was allow this girl to go skiing.
28:18So what I wanted to do is create a very fitted ski outfit that was fun, had pop color.
28:24Have you been skiing?
28:25I haven't.
28:26I want to go, but I have yet to go.
28:27I think that might be where I'm having a problem here because when I think of apres ski,
28:33I'm thinking more of what that woman's wearing after skiing.
28:36Really?
28:37And perhaps not what she's wearing on the slopes because you're into athletic wear then.
28:42I wish I was up there and challenged with a mountainside resort.
28:46That's my absolute favorite thing in the world.
28:49Snow bunny.
28:50I just can't get enough of that.
28:52I like that you kind of didn't fit it exactly to the body.
28:56I think that's rather chic.
28:57I'm not mad about the kind of scarf around her neck.
29:00It looks like you at the last minute were afraid to kind of commit to the blackness of it, you know?
29:05I think you got tripped up with being the last person to select the destination.
29:11And instead of making the best of it, you kind of made the safe of it.
29:15I just wish I would have seen more.
29:17But when I lured to your model, I saw a girl that's never been skiing and accidentally brought a wetsuit.
29:22Love that it's black, but at the same time, I wish because of it being Candy Crush that you came out with like a really, really bright, eye-catching color.
29:31And I've seen your work before, so I know.
29:34I really liked it.
29:36During the winter, I ski all the time.
29:38I would love to drink a hot toddy in that.
29:40You can.
29:41The only critique that I could give is the fact that the crotch looks like she's packing a penis.
29:46I'll say this, in defense of that.
29:49A big one.
29:50I had to take into consideration skiing.
29:51You're moving your legs, so I did add an extra inch and a half.
29:55I think you did a great job, Edmund.
29:58Stanley, you're up next.
29:59So I picked Lakeside Resort, and I really thought of Lake Cuomo as my inspiration.
30:04I wanted to have some lightness, so I found some silk gazaar, and I cut it on bias to create this light dress, and I just wanted to make a wide pan.
30:12I think you've done a great job using silk gazaar.
30:15There's a lightness in this dress.
30:16The way that the sleeve hangs and controls is very nice.
30:20There's something about the proportion with that trouser that is slightly throwing me.
30:24Yeah.
30:25There is something really fresh about this.
30:28It looks like it comes from a really interesting collection.
30:32I'm not sure that I like the print.
30:34I just think if it was just a white linen dress with those white linen pants and then this deep green border would be divine.
30:41Yeah.
30:42First, I have to commend you because I've never seen anything like this on a runway before.
30:46But I almost wish that you would have made it into a blouse.
30:49But you're really onto something here, and I like the sleeves.
30:53I like the sleeves.
30:54I like the sleeves.
30:56I love the fact that you had the boldness to try volume.
31:01However, I do think there's a lot going on.
31:05You have the volume in the sleeves, and you have the volume in the hem, and then you have the volume in the pants.
31:10There's too much going on.
31:12Okay.
31:13I think this is my favorite look that you've done the entire season.
31:16Really?
31:17I think that, you know, the skirt, the length is a little unresolved, but the fact that you took a risk today, I think it paid off.
31:24Let's move on to Fabio.
31:26So I chose tropical resort wear, and I was thinking of, like, this New York girl, like Alexa Chung, trying to escape winter.
31:33So she's getting out of here, like, in the middle of January.
31:36I love me a onesie.
31:39Can you turn around, please?
31:41The back of this is everything to me.
31:43When she walked, my mouth started watering.
31:46I'm not kidding.
31:47I was like, oh, that's so great.
31:48It's funny this week.
31:50You guys all pitted yourselves against each other, all doing dresses with a pant.
31:54I know.
31:55The look around the room is like, oh, it's all pants.
31:57But, you know, I really enjoy your color story here, and I'm very happy here to see that you're playing with proportion the way that you play with your own proportion in the way that you dress.
32:06It's getting very hard now.
32:08You're all really, really stepped it off.
32:10Well done.
32:12Hi, Fabio.
32:13Hi, Isaac.
32:14I, on the other hand, am having absolutely no problem critiquing.
32:17Oh, great.
32:18When you have it.
32:21Usually, like, what motivates me is like aerodynamics and movement.
32:27It feels weirdly like she's a prisoner of that dress because she can't move forward easily.
32:33I love the exuberance of the color.
32:36I do agree with Isaac.
32:38She looks very front heavy.
32:40Mm-hmm.
32:41It's almost like she's going to tilt forward.
32:43I love this.
32:45And I really, really wish that I would have had it for the 4th of July.
32:49But I'm one of those people that I'm a sweater.
32:52So something that heavy, you would be sweating a lot.
32:56Anthony.
32:57Safari Resort.
32:59I have had the toughest time saying Safari instead of Sahara.
33:02I was really inspired by the Candy Crush game.
33:05And then going to the fabric store and seeing this beautiful eyelet material kind of reminded me of the Candy Crush game because it's like circles within squares.
33:12I like what you did this week.
33:14I really do.
33:15My favorite part is that the eyelet is almost knotty.
33:19My thing about this is somehow the shorts make it feel a bit moderate.
33:25Okay.
33:26Can she turn around?
33:27I'm trying to decipher how does this girl get into her jacket?
33:30The idea of is that she gets zipped up and it wraps around and connects.
33:34That seems a little tricky to me.
33:37Right.
33:38I wish you would have continued this detail that you started here in the back because it feels a little empty.
33:45Okay.
33:46She looks like a nurse on their sports bright.
33:48Not.
33:49At first, I was like, where's the color?
33:52Well, they told us in the challenge we didn't have to use the Candy Crush color.
33:56But I got it.
33:57I saw with the eyelet fabric that you used and the square pockets, you get those shapes.
34:02And I saw that and I thought that was really genius of you to be the only one to take that risk to not use color.
34:08My issue is I see it as a very contemporary thing rather than something that's aspirational on the runway that I'm like, wow, I would have never thought of that.
34:17Do you want to know what I think?
34:18You're going to tell me anyway.
34:20That's true.
34:23I really like this.
34:24This is the kind of thing that you would see in an editorial on a safari.
34:28My only criticism is that I think it looks a little bit like an apron.
34:33Thank you, Anthony, and thank you to all the designers for your work this week.
34:38The judges and I have a lot to talk about.
34:40So you can sweat it out in the backstage lounge and we will call you back soon.
34:55It just kind of threw me off because I thought we all sent out really strong messages about what our resort look was.
35:00They're going to nitpick, you know, it's not like there's 16 of us anymore and they can go by like the idea and the intention that you have.
35:06It's not like there's a book that tells you do this, don't do this, do this, do this, and you shall win the prize.
35:11That's not how it works.
35:12It's opinion.
35:15So now that there's only five of them left, it's getting harder and harder to critique them.
35:20Do you want to start with Ken?
35:21The color was everything to me.
35:23It's almost like we can taste it.
35:25I just think he was restrained, it was effortless.
35:28I feel like I've seen this before though.
35:30That's why I said to him I just wish the sarong was removable because it was missing that one wow factor.
35:36Except what I really liked about it was that he managed to give us something that said beach resort and tailored.
35:43Let's move on to Stanley.
35:48It's not my personal favorite but I'd never seen anything like it before.
35:52I like the fact that he played with the proportions and the volume.
35:57I would just be much happier if it was a solid dress.
36:00I just thought this week to see people do safe things and then to see this look, I thought that that was really ballsy.
36:07We all love Ken but Ken's was much safer choice than Stanley's.
36:13Okay, let's talk about Fabio.
36:15I thought it was so innovative.
36:17I agree and I love that he's getting more back to Fabio.
36:21I'm always encouraging him to cut for a woman the way that he dresses himself.
36:25He makes a collection for men.
36:26That's what I said.
36:28And the back of this was just divine to me.
36:31Beautiful.
36:32It was everything.
36:33But it was heavy in the front.
36:35There was no getting away from him and it felt butchered in the bust.
36:38It really did.
36:39It did, that's true.
36:43Let's talk about Edmund.
36:44And I like this from Edmund because I feel like he's got like a million thoughts.
36:48Darling.
36:49And this I feel like was so.
36:50Can I ask you, are you being nice because you just really like him?
36:52Yes.
36:53If you like this there are so many different versions of this that you can already buy.
36:57I know the quality of his work and this is Edmund not trying.
37:02But what I did like is everyone was doing dresses with trousers.
37:06And he went completely in a different direction.
37:12Let's talk about Anthony.
37:13His was a little safe.
37:15I did think it was quite sexy though.
37:17I really appreciated the fact that he went with white and chose the shapes.
37:21I mean imagine if he did that same top over a little white tutu.
37:25It would have been absolutely divine.
37:26Epic.
37:27You know.
37:28He just didn't give us anything to kind of go swoony over.
37:30I just think it was a little to nothing.
37:33So we know what we're going to do.
37:36Yes we do.
37:37And we all agree.
37:39Okay.
37:40Let's bring them back out.
37:49Designers, one of you is the winner of this week's challenge.
37:52And someone else will be going home tonight.
37:54Designers, four of you will be going through to next week.
38:03And we will be sending those four to the nation's capital, Washington DC.
38:08Wow.
38:09To receive a very special challenge.
38:12Okay.
38:13Wow.
38:14This week three of you had the highest scores.
38:17But only one will be designing a new fashion project with the creators of Candy Crush.
38:25Stanley.
38:26Hey.
38:27You're safe.
38:28That means I will see you in Washington DC next week.
38:31See you.
38:32Good job.
38:36Fabio and Ken, one of you is the winner of this week's challenge.
38:40Nina, would you like to do the honors?
38:42And the winning design this week is...
38:47Ken.
38:49Congratulations.
38:50Congratulations.
38:51Well done.
38:52Congrats, Ken.
38:54And congrats to you too, Fabio.
38:55Good job.
38:56I'll see you both in DC next week.
38:57All right.
38:58Good luck, guys.
39:00I won and I'm so excited because it's my first win by myself.
39:02My other win was with Fabio, which was a Paris challenge.
39:04Almost.
39:05Who got it?
39:06That bitch.
39:07Yeah.
39:08Come on.
39:09You got it.
39:10You got it.
39:11You got it.
39:12You got it.
39:13You got it.
39:14You got it.
39:15You got it.
39:16Yeah.
39:17Come on now.
39:18I've been listening to the judges critiques every week and I've been trying to find the
39:22balance of keeping my woman powerful, but also making her feminine.
39:27And I think this look is the perfect combination of the both of them.
39:30And you got the highest score on Candy Crush, bitch.
39:32I did.
39:33That's true.
39:34You just went all the way through.
39:36And now to the least successful designs.
39:39Anthony, your look was too simple and not impactful on the runway.
39:46Edmund, there was nothing inventive about your look this week.
39:50This is All Stars, so you need to bring something fresh to the runway.
39:55The designer eliminated tonight is...
40:06Edmund.
40:08And that means Anthony, you're safe.
40:10Sorry.
40:11I'll see you next week.
40:12Okay.
40:13See you in DC.
40:15You can leave the runway.
40:16You're safe?
40:17Safe.
40:18Actually, no.
40:19What?
40:20Jeff King, bitches.
40:21Don't do this.
40:22Edmund, it's been so great having you on All Stars.
40:23And we wish you all the best.
40:25I enjoy being here.
40:26I like that you're not moving.
40:27It's been awesome.
40:28Awesome.
40:29Take care.
40:30You're wonderful.
40:32All right.
40:34Bye.
40:35I'm shocked because my number has been called.
40:36I mean, I do realize that one of us have to be able to do this.
40:39You're not moving.
40:40You're not moving.
40:41You're not moving.
40:42You're not moving.
40:43You're not moving.
40:44You're not moving.
40:45You're not moving.
40:46You're not moving.
40:47You're not moving.
40:48I mean, I do realize that one of us have to be eliminated this week.
40:51And it came down to me.
40:55Ant-Man.
40:56Go home.
40:57Kill it.
40:58I definitely would have loved to have shown my collection.
41:02But I'm excited to, you know, leave here and take what I've gathered.
41:06Y'all take it easy.
41:07Bye.
41:08I started out a very small kid, you know, with a dream.
41:12And look where it has taken me.
41:13I mean, I applied so many times to get on Project Runway.
41:16And being here and being selected as one of the all-stars is amazing in itself.
41:21Whoever's out there watching, just keep dreaming.
41:23Keep pushing.
41:24Stay focused.
41:25Determined.
41:26And you eventually get there.
41:29Next on Project Runway All-Stars.
41:31Welcome to Washington, D.C.
41:33Your final challenge is to create a six-piece collection designed to make your own mark in American fashion history.
41:42This got real real.
41:46Ooh, I feel my knees buckling.
41:48I don't like the fabric here.
41:50It was a little too fussy for me.
41:52It's a bit discombobulated.
41:54I have a surprise for you.
41:56Yeah.
41:57Don't let those bitches scare you.
41:59This doesn't sound good.
