00:00British business is in flux.
00:05The future, far from certain,
00:09but ready to support a brand new start-up,
00:13one of the country's corporate heavyweights.
00:17Competing for his cash,
00:2018 moguls in the making.
00:23I am a fine-tuned money-making machine.
00:27I smell like success and a bit of money.
00:30In business, I can be intimidating.
00:33I used to be a debt collector. My nickname was Scary Liz.
00:36People might underestimate me in this process
00:38because I look like a nice guy,
00:40but the nice guys earn £200,000 a year.
00:43On offer, a quarter-million-pound investment.
00:47Normally, I'm the smartest person in the room.
00:49I'm not just offering another paint-by-numbers business plan.
00:52I want to define an entire industry for the next 50 years.
00:55I am my own personal brand.
00:57It's a full empire that I set at the top of.
00:59People might think I'm girly,
01:01but I have definitely got a sting in my tail.
01:04To win, they face the fight of their lives.
01:07In business, I'm like a bulldog.
01:10If you mess with me, I do have a lot job.
01:13I am a strong woman.
01:15If the other candidates want conflict,
01:17trust me, they will not know what hit them.
01:20I'll do anything it takes.
01:22I'm going to throw people under the bus.
01:23I'm going to throw people over the bus.
01:25I'm going to get on the bus, take the wheel,
01:27and get that investment from Lord Sugar.
01:29Putting up the cash, Lord Sugar.
01:33I'm looking for a business partner
01:35that's going to take £250,000 and build something big.
01:39Once an aspiring entrepreneur,
01:43today the owner of a multi-million pound portfolio.
01:47This is not a holiday camp.
01:49This is a business proposition from heaven.
01:53This is dirty in your hands to make sure that we make a profit.
01:57Go, go, go!
01:58But to secure his support...
01:59What's up, what's up, what's up?
02:00How can you say you don't know whether it was undermined
02:02when you didn't hear the comments?
02:03Can we all just stop talking for a minute?
02:05A punishing selection process.
02:07Are you putting any input or are you just trying to stray away
02:10from actually making a decision yourself?
02:12This was not professional.
02:13It's a total joke.
02:1418 candidates.
02:16How could they have possibly just disappeared?
02:18How did you measure that wrong?
02:20That's how I measured it.
02:21Wrong.
02:22I'm not asked you to do quantum physics calculation.
02:24The work was rubbish.
02:2612 tough tasks.
02:27Are we going to win this?
02:28This is quite amazing.
02:31Ka-ching.
02:32One life-changing opportunity.
02:34This is a bloody shambles.
02:36Us Cockneys would say a load of pony and trap.
02:38It's down to business with The Apprentice.
02:41You're fired.
02:42You're fired.
02:43You didn't follow the money.
02:45You're fired.
02:46You're fired.
02:47You're fired.
02:48You're fired.
02:49You're fired.
02:50You're fired.
02:52And you're fired.
02:55You're fired.
02:56Number four.
02:57Midday.
02:58The boardroom.
02:59Handing in business plans.
03:0118 potential partners.
03:05Handing in business plans, 18 potential partners.
03:16Yes, Lord Sugar.
03:17Could you send the candidates in, please?
03:19You can go to the boardroom now.
03:35Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
03:39Good afternoon, Lord Sugar.
03:41So, look, we're in strange times now.
03:44I mean, we've got Brexit, but be under no illusion.
03:47In this process, I'm the one who decides who's going to remain,
03:51and I'm the one who decides who's going to leave.
03:55Simple as that.
03:56Now, one of you is going to win a £250,000 investment
04:03in a business that we are going to be 50-50 partners in.
04:08And I just want to make it perfectly clear
04:10that £250,000 goes into that business.
04:14No strings attached.
04:16That's what happens.
04:18I saw the headlines of all of your business plans,
04:21and basically I have no problem with any of them.
04:24The reason I've got no problem with any of them
04:26is because I'm not going to do any work.
04:28You're going to do the work,
04:30and I and my team are going to be doing the mentoring.
04:35Now, observing you for 12 weeks
04:38will be my loyal and long-time business associates, Karen.
04:44I have eyes in the back of my head.
04:47To remember that.
04:48And then there's Claude.
04:49I'll be watching all of you all the time.
04:52Nothing will escape my attention.
04:54Now, I've got your CVs here.
04:57Elliot.
04:58Yes, Lord Sugar.
04:59Your mates call you Tory boy.
05:01It was a name that I picked up when I was back at school.
05:04And you've written speeches for David Cameron.
05:06I've assisted in writing speeches.
05:08You had the last one go.
05:09Oh, bugger, I've lost.
05:11No comments.
05:13Now, Michaela, you claim that you've got £3 million turnover.
05:18That's over two businesses, but, yeah.
05:20And two businesses.
05:21I mean, what are you doing here?
05:23I don't think I've peaked.
05:27So, I know it's good in comparison to most people,
05:31but I'm from Bolton.
05:33I work in Bolton.
05:34I'm not like, you know, Karen Brady.
05:36I just want more.
05:38OK, well, fair enough.
05:40Now, Andrew.
05:41I saw you.
05:42People think you look like the cross between Clark and Gokwan.
05:46Yeah.
05:47I think it's the glasses.
05:48And Siobhan?
05:49Siobhan?
05:50You've put on weddings, is that right?
05:51Yeah, destination planner abroad, yeah.
05:53You say people know you as Superwoman.
05:55You'll be all right with Clark Kentman over there.
05:58Anissa?
05:59Hello, Trigger.
06:00You have a PR fashion agency, is that right?
06:02Yes, I do.
06:03You say the most important thing in business is to have fun.
06:06And to enjoy yourself,
06:07because there's no point getting out of bed every morning.
06:08Yeah, good.
06:09You have to love what you do.
06:10Me and Claude look like the Chuckle Brothers.
06:12You've got a good sense of humour, which always helps.
06:14Yeah, we need that, Claude.
06:16Well, I'm now going to talk to you about your first task.
06:24Tomorrow, you'll be up before dawn and you're going to manufacture your own burgers before selling them to the public and the trade.
06:34And it is very, very simple.
06:36The team that has made the most amount of profit will win.
06:40Simple as that.
06:41OK?
06:42So, ladies, you've got two minutes.
06:45Choose your PM.
06:47I've got any food.
06:50How about selling?
06:52I'm big on sales. I'm very happy to do it.
06:56I'm happy to do it.
06:57I'm happy to do it.
06:58Yep.
06:59I'll take it on.
07:00Sarah, you're the PM.
07:01And gentlemen, decide who should be your project manager.
07:05I'll do the audio manufacturing and manufacturing cosmetics.
07:09Yeah, I think he's an artist.
07:11You're the man.
07:12Sure.
07:13Who's that?
07:14Danny.
07:15Yes.
07:16Good.
07:17Now, just to show you what a life-changing thing it is, winning this process, I've got a little surprise.
07:23I'd like to introduce you to some of my past winners.
07:38These are real successes that you see here, and this is what you have to aspire to.
07:43I stand here as someone who this process has changed my life.
07:47My business that does digital marketing just opened our fourth office.
07:50We've got over 40 staff now, and we're on for a profit of over £800,000 this year.
07:55Well, I came here a naive inventor with a notebook of ideas, and now we actually turn over over £250,000 a month.
08:02I would not have been able to achieve any of that without this process.
08:06So this is a huge, huge opportunity.
08:08Now, Alana was last year's winner.
08:11I really didn't have an idea of how to grow a big business and just sat down with Lord Sugar and his team and put together a plan that if I can pull it off, it's going to be great.
08:21So there you are, ladies and gentlemen. This is what you have to aspire to. Off you go, and good luck.
08:27Teams have one day to turn raw meat into a tasty profit.
08:33Good to see you. How are you doing? Good to meet you.
08:37Before the battle of the burgers begins...
08:40Yeah, I'm Danny. I'm 32. I'm a manufacturing company.
08:43...a chance to size up rivals.
08:45I'm Elliot. I'm a qualified barrister. I've got my own law firm assisting landlords with proper tenants in evicting them.
08:54Yes, I can be ruthless. I earn £175,000 a year, but I want to earn five times that, ten times that, a hundred times that.
09:01I'm putting up a fight in this process to win. Lord Sugar will not fire Elliot van Emden.
09:06It was a surprise, wasn't it, seeing the previous winners come in?
09:09Yeah, and seeing which winner they earn, eh?
09:11Yeah, it's amazing, with the right...
09:13...which did progress. Yeah, well, that's it. We've got the right mentoring.
09:15Mentoring, yeah. Flash cash.
09:17I don't take any crap. I've already got successful businesses in the construction industry.
09:21I'm a force to be reckoned with. I don't think I'll react well if Lord Sugar Sacks, Mayor.
09:26I think I might try and sack him back.
09:28Notting Hill.
09:30Oh, my God. Amazing.
09:32Oh, very posh.
09:34This fridge is bigger than my entire kitchen.
09:37Get some bubbles on, boys.
09:39This is champagne, mate. It's not water.
09:41For the next 12 weeks...
09:43This is my absolute dream to have a walk-in wardrobe like this.
09:45This'll be home...
09:46Hey, I got the bunk bed. This is where I belong. Up top.
09:50...and headquarters.
09:51Our own wardrobe.
09:53Mega.
09:54You guys think you can purchase something like this any time soon?
09:57100%.
09:58This makes it a whole lot more real, doesn't it?
10:00All I have to say is let the games begin.
10:03Bring it on.
10:05First job for both teams.
10:08We need to find a team name.
10:10Cook up a new identity.
10:12I've got Tower Nine.
10:13Tower Nine.
10:14There's nine of us here.
10:15We're all going to stand tall.
10:16That's a good name for now, but what happens when we start losing people?
10:19So I was thinking more like warriors.
10:21Trojans.
10:22Trojans.
10:23He's quite cheesy.
10:24You're the king of cheese.
10:26Anyone got any ideas put forward?
10:29Across the hall.
10:32Victoria's Secret.
10:33You can be victorious.
10:34You can do it in secret.
10:36Also engineering a name.
10:38Graphene's the strongest material that we've got around at the moment.
10:41The girls.
10:42You can layer it up to make it even stronger.
10:44You can even purify water through it as well, so it's a pretty snazzy tool.
10:48OK, so who liked graphene?
10:50So graphene is.
10:52Name agreed.
10:53My feeling is that we should go for luxury USP.
10:55Next, decide how best to take a bite out of the market.
10:59If we want to do a luxury burger, we are British.
11:02There is the most beautiful British beef in this country.
11:05Yeah, yeah.
11:06And it will be popular.
11:07So I think beef and chicken, we can all make them look really good,
11:09and it just means we can present a good product.
11:12The girls have chosen a luxury theme, but they've chosen two really common meats,
11:17beef and chicken, but they're going to have to work extremely hard
11:20to make these appear high quality to the consumer.
11:23Otherwise, what's luxury about it?
11:26Still weighing up names.
11:28If anyone's got any ideas, fire them away.
11:30Just get them out of there.
11:31The boys.
11:32Penultimate.
11:34That's like second best.
11:36Any more?
11:39I add team vitality.
11:41It means energy, strength, all like that.
11:44Vitality.
11:45Everyone happy with that?
11:46Yep.
11:47That's what it is then.
11:48Danny decided the team name was something of great importance and dwelled on it for much,
11:53much too long.
11:54If he's going to carry on in this vein for all the other important decisions,
11:57he's not going to last very long.
11:58What we need to discuss here, boys, is our unique selling point five burgers.
12:01So if anyone's got any ideas.
12:03I'd say healthy.
12:04There's a big market out there for people that want low calorie healthy burgers.
12:07I think healthy would be a great option for us to go with.
12:10I'd agree with that.
12:11So I think we should go for buffalo.
12:12In terms of red meat, that's probably one of the most healthiest.
12:15It's got lower cholesterol.
12:16It's got a lower fat content than beef.
12:18Can I make a suggestion?
12:19We go for one red meat and one white meat.
12:21Goat has lower fat than chicken.
12:23But who's going to eat a goat burger?
12:25I think we should go for turkey because it is a healthy option.
12:28And the country knows turkey as a meat.
12:30Yes.
12:31So we all agreed on turkey and buffalo, yeah?
12:33Tomorrow, half of each team will shift burgers in bulk.
12:37Soho has a lot of food businesses.
12:39So there's nothing stopping us from going into some of those trying to sell this.
12:42While the rest push cooked patties to the public.
12:45OK, ladies, so we need to split the team.
12:47I quite like the idea of Canary Wolf.
12:49Yeah, I think that's really going to be our target audience.
12:51Our customers in Canary Wolf are going to be male dominated,
12:53so that's something to take into consideration when you choose
12:55who you want to be selling the burgers.
12:57So it's got to be attractive to him as well to want to buy it.
12:59What do you mean about attractive?
13:02We have to think, you know, they have to be good at selling
13:06and they also have to be good because, you know,
13:09they have to be good to sell to men, if you see what I'm saying as well.
13:13No, I don't know what you're saying. What are you saying?
13:15I'm just trying to say that if you're shy at dealing with men
13:17on a day-to-day basis as well, it's going to be a problem though, no?
13:20None of you strike me as shy.
13:23OK.
13:24OK.
13:25So at the market stall, I think Siobhan, Elizabeth, Sarah Jane, Jade and myself.
13:30I'd like Bushra to sub-team manage for me.
13:33We've got our strategy for tomorrow, we've got a cheaper product
13:35but we're going to add some luxury toppings and sell, sell, sell and win this task.
13:39Also selecting a sales pitch.
13:41Brixton's quite good. It's up and coming, it's busy.
13:44The boys.
13:45Brixton's thriving, it's a trendy area and I believe our burgers should be well sought after there.
13:50Brixton would be a good area, you've got a lot of gyms around there,
13:53you've got a lot of professional people.
13:55We're going to go with Brixton then, yeah?
13:56For the sub-team, I'm going to have Charles leading it.
13:59I feel like you could do well selling to restaurants.
14:01I trust you.
14:02We need to absolutely smash it, sell, sell, sell everything.
14:05Everyone happy?
14:06Yeah, let's do it.
14:082am.
14:18Come on ladies, we're not going to beat the boys like this.
14:20Come on, let's get up, let's get up.
14:24Why are you doing your own shit? You should get Geoff to do it for you.
14:27I'm PM, aren't I?
14:29Geoff!
14:34How are you feeling about missing meat this early on in the morning?
14:37I actually used to go out with a butcher's son.
14:40The smell is intense to say the least.
14:53What do you think Daniel, how are you feeling today mate?
14:55I'm feeling good mate, I'm feeling good, I'm feeling positive actually.
14:57I think we're going to absolutely smash the girls.
15:00Before making their burgers...
15:02Elizabeth, I'd like you to negotiate with me alongside you.
15:05Both teams need to bulk buy the meat.
15:07If we can ask the advice of the wholesaler, ask his advice.
15:11Yes.
15:12But don't get taken in, yeah, because they want to sell the crap to you as well.
15:15They're going to know that you're naive.
15:16These guys aren't stupid.
15:17If you don't know what you're talking about, they're going to totally screw you over and give you this crap.
15:22Dawn.
15:25Opening for business, London's butchers.
15:28We are after some organic turkey.
15:30While James buys half the meat for their healthy burgers.
15:34We were thinking seven pounds a kilo.
15:36Maybe 9.99.
15:379.25.
15:38All right.
15:39Brilliant.
15:40The rest of the boys hunt for buffalo.
15:43If we can get this 11 kilo gun for 200 pounds, we're pretty happy with that.
15:47Led by management consultant Charles.
15:50I say we start lower, 14 pounds a kilo.
15:53That's a bit insulting.
15:54You're not going to start.
15:55If we walk in there...
15:56I think we want to...
15:57This is my call.
15:58This is my call.
15:59Like, don't...
16:00I'm telling you now, don't go in there with 14.
16:02It can piss someone off.
16:03About 250, worst case, we spend the whole 250, right?
16:06Let's go do this.
16:07Hiya.
16:08We would love to have a chat with you today about some buffalo, if that's okay?
16:11I've got some here, right here.
16:1325 pounds a kilo.
16:14Could we go for 17 pounds per kilo?
16:17We're not just going to sell it for the sake of selling it.
16:19It's going to be some passion in selling.
16:21And it comes from you.
16:22It comes over to us.
16:23Going on Sarge's point.
16:24What we'd like to use was our sole supply for buffalo.
16:27Would that bring you closer to 17?
16:29Erm, okay then.
16:30Yeah, yeah, we'll do 17.
16:32Okay.
16:3317 sounds good.
16:34Thank you so much.
16:35I'm very happy with the way the negotiation went.
16:37Sarge, Ross and myself all pitched in.
16:40However, the final price was negotiated by myself.
16:44Have you got any Angus steak?
16:46For the girls' luxury burgers.
16:48We can do 7.50 a kilo.
16:50Elizabeth steaks out prime cuts.
16:52Can you give me at 6.50?
16:54No, 6.
16:55See what, I can do it at 6.
16:56Deal.
16:57Thanks very much.
16:58Across town.
16:59So we're definitely not going to go for the higher end of the good chicken.
17:03Bushra sets her sights on budget birds.
17:06I'm quite happy to go in and start the pitching,
17:08but if there's anyone else here that feels like they would like to do it, I'm happy to.
17:11I'm ready to go.
17:12Are you?
17:13Yes.
17:14Okay.
17:15Morning.
17:16We're looking for some chicken.
17:17You're looking for some chicken?
17:18Yeah.
17:19Can you tell me how much is for a kilo of the chicken thigh and the chicken breast together?
17:236.60 a kilo.
17:24We're not concerned about the best chicken.
17:27We don't mind going for a lesser option.
17:30We would do a natural chicken breast and natural chicken fire from Holland.
17:34Great, good to know.
17:35Very good.
17:36Natural chicken.
17:37Brilliant.
17:38Natural chicken from Holland.
17:39Four pound a kilo.
17:40Oh, brilliant.
17:41That's less than what I'll come out to restaurants.
17:42Thank you so much.
17:43That's really helpful.
17:44You've gone over and beyond.
17:45I know we might be pushing it, but is there any way we can get it at 360?
17:49Go on, you can do it.
17:50Go on, 360.
17:51360.
17:53I think Anissa was going to settle at four pounds, so I intervened and just tried to
17:57push for that little bit extra.
17:59Every penny counts in a task like this.
18:027.30.
18:03Everybody who's not doing anything just grab a knife and start chopping.
18:06For both teams, a kitchen.
18:08First of all, you mix in your seasoning, your crumb, and then finally add your water.
18:13And a crash course in burger making.
18:15Pop it in the burger press and then, hey presto, there's your burger.
18:18Okay, so if everyone can listen for two minutes, it'll save us lots of time.
18:22Elizabeth and Joanna are taking the mince, putting in the seasoning, making sure the measurements
18:27and the blend is right.
18:28She's going to pass it over to you.
18:29She wants to put it in the mincer.
18:30Yeah.
18:31Taking charge of the measurements.
18:33You have 10% crumb, 10% water, and the correct amount of seasoning.
18:38Florist Elizabeth.
18:39Get some ice on the go, chilling out in the kitchen.
18:44I'm the pottiest person in the room, but I'm also, more importantly, the most clear-headed
18:48person in the room.
18:49That goes in there.
18:50Five more grams in that, please.
18:52I hope that my temper doesn't come out, because I've got size 10 feet, and they kick butt.
18:56This is ready to mix.
18:57You need to get the meat into it and get it going.
19:00Okay.
19:01This is awful.
19:03Look at it, it's like goo.
19:04This shouldn't be this sticky, yeah?
19:06Do you think there might be a little bit too much water in this, Elizabeth?
19:08It feels really wet.
19:09The water loosens it.
19:11Well, obviously too much, though, no?
19:13Did we not have our eyes on what was in here is what I'm asking.
19:15The meat has come out like some kind of glue.
19:17Something's gone wrong clearly in the system.
19:19Guys, speak to Elizabeth.
19:20She's on the measuring team, yeah?
19:21Let's stay calm.
19:22Let's stay calm.
19:23It's just absolute chaos.
19:24People shouting, and a gluey product is being made.
19:28If I bash this enough, we won't have to re-mince.
19:31I'm giving it some welly.
19:33In the boys' kitchen...
19:35Do you feel like a butcher yet, boys?
19:36My reputation as a vegetarian has just gone down-drained.
19:39Whee!
19:40Woo-hoo!
19:41We're mincing!
19:42Make sure they're all the same size, all right?
19:45While Danny prioritises the perfect buffalo burger.
19:49It's not locally sourced?
19:50No, it's not locally sourced.
19:52That's fine.
19:53We can get rid of that bit.
19:54Jeff and Elliot...
19:55I'm going to bold this, because that's the key thing that we want.
19:57Labour over labels.
19:59Organic turkey.
20:00I'm not so sure on the way that sounds.
20:02Organically sourced in Britain, get rid of it locally.
20:04Healthy.
20:05Healthy, organic, sourced in Britain.
20:07Is it too much?
20:08Okay, wait, wait.
20:09I got this.
20:10Just let me think, yeah?
20:11Jeff and Elliot are designing the labels, but frankly,
20:14they are taking forever.
20:15What they really need to do is to make the burgers
20:18so they can get out and sell them.
20:20Busy, busy, busy!
20:22On the girls' team, simple labels sorted.
20:25I'm just trying to get these printed.
20:26I've got one more go and it'll be done.
20:28And meat mishaps managed.
20:29Can I just clarify?
20:30This is actually fine, because we are taking the big bits up,
20:32so it is actually okay.
20:34I'm throwing them out now.
20:36Trying to make them look neat, though.
20:37Next, a push to maximise mark-ups.
20:40We've really got to step up on the luxury,
20:43so I think we'll do brioche bun and premium toppings.
20:46We're going to Canary Wharf.
20:47We're going to charge about £5 a burger.
20:49We should be okay.
20:50The girls have been really focused on producing a luxury burger,
20:53but they haven't bought the best quality chicken.
20:55And I think when you buy a luxury burger,
20:57you're expecting the meat to be the premium ingredient,
21:00not the bun and the lettuce.
21:02Excuse me.
21:03Yes.
21:04We start selling at 12.
21:05We need 15, 20 minutes to set up and start cooking.
21:07We do.
21:08We need to go now.
21:09Please take 100 steak burgers and 75 chicken burgers and let's go.
21:12It's always hard when there's a big group of people
21:14all wanting to say their piece.
21:16I'm finding Siobhan a bit of an irritant.
21:18Don't, don't touch that.
21:19Don't touch it, please.
21:20Just leave it, yeah?
21:21But other than that, I think everybody's pretty on board
21:23and just wants to work together and do the girls proud.
21:27The girls head out.
21:29Let's go, let's go.
21:30Half to target trade.
21:32When we're talking to these people,
21:33it's about building that rapport and actually finding out
21:35if we think they're the kind of people who would serve burgers.
21:38The rest aim for the public.
21:40When we get there, I'd really like Siobhan and Elizabeth on cooking.
21:44I'd prefer to do it on my own
21:45because Elizabeth's faffled quite a lot the whole task.
21:47What is faffling?
21:48I don't want to argue about it now, anyway.
21:49No, no, no, I just wondered what I was doing.
21:50Please, listen, I'm project manager.
21:52Please, let's not be negative.
21:54Let's just bang out the sales and do a job.
21:56I think I haven't been negative.
21:57Anyway, darling.
21:58You just said Elizabeth's been faffing.
21:59It's just not helpful.
22:03Still producing buffalo burgers.
22:05It looks beautiful.
22:06It just looks beautiful.
22:07Guys, the burgers look pretty good.
22:08Well done, boys.
22:09Good job.
22:10The boys.
22:11Guys, we made 20 burgers already.
22:12Nice job, boys.
22:13Keep going, mate.
22:14You've got another 200 to go.
22:15Get a move on.
22:16Boys, don't stop pressing burgers, please.
22:19The market location is now available.
22:21We can start selling.
22:22So we don't need everyone.
22:23Make some patties, man.
22:24We know this.
22:25We don't need everyone.
22:26Jesus Christ.
22:27Make some patties.
22:28Can't sell nothing.
22:30We can just go down there and sell air, are we?
22:32We don't need nine hands still here.
22:34We'll finish off.
22:35You take the buffalo burgers, then we'll head down after with the turkey.
22:38Let's do it.
22:39Let's do that.
22:40That's the problem.
22:41Let me think about this for a second.
22:43Let me think about this for a second.
22:44Just continue making burgers.
22:45And burgers, lads.
22:46Just keep making the burgers, guys.
22:47We need to quit practice strategy as well.
22:48Yeah, that's fine.
22:49That's fine.
22:50We can do that over the phone if necessary.
22:51Can we all just stop talking for a minute and just let me think for a second?
22:54There's just too many people talking.
22:55And no matter how many times you tell them, they just won't shut up.
22:58I think, to be honest, if you're now looking at it, I've been a little bit too polite.
23:01I should have been a little bit more forceful because now things are going to change.
23:05And if they don't step up, there's going to be a problem.
23:07Okay, guys, listen up, please.
23:08My team are going to the market with the buffalo.
23:11The sub-team stay here and make turkey burgers.
23:14We need to have some of the turkey burgers delivered to the market.
23:17Do you know how much we're selling these for?
23:19I have no idea.
23:20We should have a pricing strategy.
23:21How much do you want us to sell the burgers for?
23:23We can do that over the phone if necessary.
23:25Let's get to making and let's get to travelling.
23:27I'm leaving you in charge.
23:28All right, go on.
23:29We've got it.
23:30Go sell.
23:31Get some money in the till.
23:32Get some money in that till.
23:33Come on.
23:34Are we all ready to go, my team?
23:35My God.
23:36Just get moving.
23:37Go, go, go, go, go, go.
23:39And then there were the four amigos.
23:41We've got a ton of burgers to make.
23:43Guys, guys, guys.
23:44There's not such a massive rush.
23:45Think about this, right?
23:46There's no value of us being on the streets at lunchtime.
23:49Where do you want to be at lunchtime?
23:50At lunchtime, we need to be here finishing this off.
23:52Going to them with 20 turkey burgers is not really going to do anything.
23:54We'll stay here, get them finished, and we'll go to a commuter place at 3pm.
23:5812.30.
23:59We have some beautiful, beautiful burgers.
24:01They taste amazing.
24:02While the girls' trade team push patties to Soho restaurants.
24:06Premium beef.
24:07You guys seem like premium type of guys.
24:09I always say no.
24:11In Canary Wharf.
24:12Guys, I need someone to grab this, please.
24:15Sarah, Sarah, Sarah.
24:17Hundreds of well-heeled workers look for a luxury lunch.
24:21They're $4.95 for the steak, the chuck steak burger, and $4.75 for the chicken burger.
24:26Yeah, yeah.
24:27What would you like?
24:28A beef?
24:29I have a steak burger.
24:30Perfect.
24:31What are you doing?
24:32I'm trying to give the chicken burgers.
24:33That is not cooked.
24:34Hello, sir.
24:35Churning out burgers, Siobhan and Elizabeth.
24:38Please don't turn them.
24:39There's no need to turn them.
24:40You don't turn them on a grill.
24:42You're embarrassing yourself.
24:43Calm down.
24:44Another steak burger, please.
24:45How many chickens?
24:46One chicken?
24:47One chicken, one beef.
24:48Another steak burger.
24:49Yeah, I've got your burger.
24:50It's still cooking.
24:51Sorry, it's coming.
24:52Rios with what?
24:53Onion and salads.
24:54No jalapenos, no.
24:55Are you guys all waiting for burgers?
24:56If you hold on one minute, sir, yeah?
24:57If you're ready, have you given one out already?
24:58This is actually for somebody else.
24:59Are we okay?
25:00Are we backed up with orders here?
25:02They're running a bit behind.
25:03Sarah has given Siobhan and Elizabeth the task of cooking and serving the burgers, which I think is a mistake, as clearly they don't work well together.
25:11The most cooked one is the fire.
25:12I don't need that.
25:13It's okay, mate.
25:14Just focus on yours.
25:15Can't cook if you're underneath me here.
25:16You're going to have to do it.
25:17That's the whole point, yeah?
25:18Just deal with it.
25:19They're not getting the orders out.
25:20There's confusion over who wants what.
25:23And the burgers look far from luxury.
25:25Here we go.
25:26Sorry about that.
25:27Did you have to wait for a little bit?
25:28We're getting there now, aren't we, Sinead?
25:29Do you want these?
25:30It's not Sinead.
25:31It's Siobhan, yeah?
25:32If you don't remember it, don't say it.
25:35Still on the road.
25:37We've already spent too much time manufacturing the stuff, right?
25:39We need to get out there and sell.
25:41Danny's boys cook up costings.
25:43This is meant to be a high profit item, isn't it?
25:47That's the whole point of it.
25:48Nine pounds.
25:49It's got to be nine pounds.
25:50If I saw a nine pound burger, I'm just going to go to the next store.
25:52I actually think seven pounds.
25:53Seven pounds.
25:54You know what?
25:55I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say 7.95.
25:57Come on, boys.
25:58Get spirits up.
25:59Let's pump this up.
26:012pm.
26:03Gents, if you get them made up, James and I can hand them out.
26:06Brixton Street Food Market.
26:08Can I say, but it is quite quiet here.
26:10It's very quiet.
26:11There's literally no one here.
26:13High protein.
26:14Source from Italy.
26:15Good bargain, guys.
26:18Today only.
26:19Once they're gone, they're gone.
26:22The boys have arrived late, and the market is quiet.
26:25Please, come and drive.
26:26We're only here for today.
26:27It's a one day deal, guys.
26:29And Geoff and Elliot seem to think that standing around, shouting out inanely, is somehow or
26:34other going to drum up business.
26:35You don't want to miss this.
26:38They're going to have to work a lot harder than that if they're going to make any sales today.
26:42We missed the lunch mark, and now we can sell.
26:45We have missed the lunch time trade, but I think it's the location as well.
26:48There's no footfall here at all.
26:50There's no one here.
26:53There's literally no one here.
26:56Still in the kitchen.
26:58We have 25 turkey burgers.
27:00How many burgers have we got to make?
27:01Absolutely loads.
27:02The rest of Danny's boys.
27:04Okay, guys, so I've taken it by myself to look at pricing strategy.
27:07Priority for Charles, crunch the numbers.
27:10When you divide the cost by the amount of burgers we've got, we get our cost per pack.
27:15So it's actually costing us £102.
27:18Nah, it can't be right.
27:19I think Charles does like to just talk for the sake of it.
27:22There's a lot of talking when more work could be done.
27:24That's weird.
27:25The turkey's come out similar price to...
27:27Buffalo, that doesn't make any sense.
27:29Ah, sugar, that's cost per...
27:31Hold on.
27:32Nah, guys, I got this wrong.
27:34I mean, if we didn't keep going while all this talking was going on, there still wouldn't
27:37all these burgers have been made.
27:39Hi, Danny.
27:40How are you?
27:41Yeah, yeah, well, all right, but this place is dead.
27:45I've worked the costs out, okay?
27:47Have you been sitting there doing costings?
27:48I thought you were meant to be making the burgers and then getting on the road.
27:50Listen, listen, listen.
27:51So, have you finished everything?
27:52No, let me explain.
27:53I'm trying to speak.
27:54Why are you calling me about costing?
27:55Danny.
27:56Let me speak.
27:57Because you've not made any...
27:58Danny, you've made no decisions, okay?
27:59We've made a decision.
28:00You don't need to worry about costing when you're manufacturing.
28:03You just don't need to do it.
28:04It's just not necessary.
28:05Okay, Danny, Danny, you're the PM.
28:06What are you trying to do?
28:07Get on the road and come here to us here, yeah?
28:10All right.
28:11Bye.
28:12I don't understand why they've been in the kitchen for so long.
28:15I don't understand why the communication is so poor.
28:18It just seems they dropped the ball.
28:20And Charles is the one to be blamed.
28:23But for Charles' half of the team, one further delay.
28:26All we need to worry about, get this labelling done,
28:28get our asses over there, okay?
28:30Guys, you've, um, called a turkey burger organic.
28:34All the ingredients have to be organic.
28:36Is the crime organic?
28:37No.
28:38That is a fatal error because they've made up ingredients
28:41of what we're about to sell.
28:42Rather than reprinting all the labels,
28:44cross out the word organic, and that's totally fine.
28:46At the end of the day, we'll have to sell it.
28:47Look, if you can trust us to tell you
28:49we've made an error with the packaging,
28:50then you can trust us at The Great Burgers.
28:54Whatever we do, don't drop them.
28:55After you, ma'am.
28:583pm.
28:59Go, go, go.
29:00Lunchtime over.
29:04In Soho, still trying to shift burgers in bulk,
29:07the trade team.
29:09We've got to get the best sells that we can.
29:11I'm quite happy for Anita, you wanted to pitch for us.
29:14Selling one pack is probably the least,
29:16and we need to try and get more than that.
29:18We shouldn't be going into a business and selling one pack.
29:20It's just one pack.
29:21That is probably the least I'm going to expect,
29:23you know what I say.
29:24So let's try and sell these burgers.
29:26Bushra as a sub-team leader is a bit micromanaging.
29:29She doesn't really let you get on with it and just go,
29:31you know what, you're good enough, go.
29:32So that is incredibly frustrating.
29:34So I wanted to come in today to see you
29:35because we've made some amazing Angus steak burgers.
29:38I thought maybe that might be of interest to you.
29:40OK.
29:41It's full of, full of meat.
29:44There's no...
29:49OK.
29:52There's a trade price.
29:53We're coming and looking for $3.99 for two beef burgers.
29:56I guarantee you they will sell.
29:58It's a one-off deal.
29:59It's a one-off deal.
30:00One-off deal.
30:01Literally, this is a one-off special.
30:03This is one-day special.
30:04That's why it's a good price.
30:06Because the people want it.
30:07Yeah.
30:08Ladies, I really appreciate your commitment.
30:10I can do.
30:11Ten.
30:12We have a deal.
30:13Oh, thank you.
30:14Perfect.
30:15Thank you so much.
30:17I felt like there was too many voices continuing all the time.
30:22Anissa did say that you'd go and pitch.
30:24We went in with a strategy and it just lost itself.
30:26Yeah.
30:27I actually think that as soon as she started talking,
30:29it was you that started talking.
30:30Actually, I feel like you were the loudest person.
30:32Yeah.
30:33And then Michaela started talking.
30:34I thought, OK, so it's a group pitch.
30:35Let's see what I can contribute.
30:37So you don't recall Michaela spoke before me?
30:39No?
30:40Well, it doesn't matter who spoke before.
30:41Well, it does.
30:42OK.
30:43Come on, listen.
30:44We're not going to make any sales if we just stand there, bitches.
30:45I'm not going to be told off.
30:46Why don't we just all make it out?
30:47Well, we all did it.
30:48And you were a culprit as well.
30:49You can't be like, oh, I'm going to be the fool.
30:51You were a bit of a bit.
30:52In Brixton,
30:53Do you like burgers?
30:54Wow, I'm quite obedient.
30:55Only three burgers budged.
30:58We do buns with salad.
31:00Can I ingest you in a salad sandwich?
31:02Sure.
31:03Are you serious?
31:04Yeah, I'm actually serious.
31:05Still waiting for the sub-team.
31:07Thank you very much.
31:09Time for a change of direction, it's not busy. We need to give ourselves up to move. Yeah, sure
31:14This is prime location affluent area. Yeah, what do you think?
31:21Shoreditch, Shoreditch is then that's the decision
31:24Hello
31:30Why you've only just left the kitchen whoever responds for the labeling made a massive error
31:39We was waiting for you here. What what do you want to do get to Shoreditch start selling? We're gonna meet you there. Okay, she's Shoreditch
31:47Okay, who who's responsible for the labeling you types on the screen?
31:51What happened?
31:52And then obviously we all looked at it and the labels are ready to print then it comes down. I didn't print it through thread
31:57I didn't break we needed a final year in the beginning to do that. It wasn't printed. We can deal with this later
32:02So we go to sure it's time rescue the dice. Yes, all right
32:05Four o'clock, right? Do we have to panic sell by the moment? We panic sell in the last 20 minutes. Yeah, okay
32:11Sarah's new plan. Let's go girls target office workers with take-home burgers one person coming this way
32:17Someone grab this person grab these two sets of people here. Let's nab them. You I don't know over you. Call me here
32:23I think we're scaring people the project manager Sarah. I think she struggled under pressure and she struggled directing people
32:33Okay, burgers burgers. Let's go. Let's go to these guys
32:35I hope we don't lose and I don't think we deserve to but it was a bit chaotic and the terror would be to blame. You sure I can't persuade you
32:42All right, thank you so much
32:44Hello, Sarah, how are you? We're okay. We've got 40 packs left to sell. How about you guys?
32:50So we've had one sales so far which was 10 chicken and 10 beef and we've done chicken at 3.75
32:56Okay, girls in terms of strategy four pounds a pack all we can do is sell sell sell. Take care
33:02Oh, sorry wait wait wait
33:06The last 15 minutes pound a pack all right, honey. We will try that. Thanks girls catch up soon
33:13Everybody has a burger in a cast don't they? Oh look this place looks really good. Yeah, let's do it
33:19Hello, I noticed that you already sell burgers and beef

33:30Yeah, okay. Are you happy to take 40 of those the chicken and
33:36So 120 20 together. Yeah, they found a willing buyer who runs a burger shop
33:42Joanna went in far too quickly at a cheap price the guy snapped their hands off
33:45I think they could have got at least double for that loss
33:495 p.m.

34:42Healthy burgers guys
34:44Hey, two turkey ten pounds. Take one pack for a five pound. Yeah, sold four packs and twenty pounds
34:50It's our last deal of the day. I'll do them six at twenty quid right now five minutes five minutes
34:54I'll give you two packs for a fiber and do you two packs? I believe these three packs for fiber and burgers for five pounds
34:59You'll take five packs. Yeah, guys. We got one minute two pounds for two burgers last people there. Go go go
35:05Burgers two chicken one pound 75. You've got yourself a good deal there six o'clock
35:11Good day guys. Seriously. We ended on high, but I do think Danny didn't manage the team well at the end day
35:18He owns a manufacturing business, so Danny needs to be worried about ending up in the boardroom
35:22I'm knackered. I don't feel like Bush has really done that much as a sub-team leader
35:29I feel relieved it's finished with and I'm excited to watch somebody get fired off the boys team
35:36Tonight takings will be totted up tomorrow in the boardroom a grilling
35:41You can go to the boardroom now
36:11Good morning
36:13Well, I sent you out to make some hamburgers, and I think we should never mind about the quarter pounder
36:20It's the quarter of a million that all of you should be working on
36:25I'd like to start with the ladies team and Sarah you chose to be the project manager
36:31Yes, we discussed team names and we selected graphene. Yeah, it's stronger than steel
36:37I've I've heard yes, you can layer it up. It makes really a really strong
36:42Material actually sounds like a northern energy drink with gravy in it
36:46Carry on Sarah we kicked off thinking about our themes and our meats for our burgers. We chose luxury luxury
36:53Yes, the meats that we selected were chicken and beef
36:56I purchased the beef Lord sugar and we managed to achieve a purchase price of that six pounds a kilo
37:01Which got a very good discount from the butcher. What do you want first of all then? It was over eight pounds sir. Yeah
37:06Who was responsible for buying the chicken then and Nisa was the kind of main picture?
37:11He was stars off at six pounds and we've got him down to three pound sixty a kilo in the end
37:15Didn't Mikaela kicked in at the end, didn't she?
37:17Yeah, she did. Three pound sixty in the end. Is that right? Yeah, yeah
37:21You'd chosen luxury. Did it occur to you to think about luxury chicken?
37:26He said natural chicken from Holland. Well, I mean a chicken is a chicken, isn't it?
37:30I know
37:32What's an unnatural chicken silicon chicken breasts?
37:36Anyway, tell me what happened when you got to the kitchen from what I heard from Karen the mixture was a bloody mess
37:41Lord sugar, may I interject? It was me that put the water in it's water in the breadcrumbs
37:45You can imagine it gets right clogs up
37:48That's right, but as soon as I was made aware that there was a problem
37:51I worked to resolve it as quickly as that's not right
37:53Actually, you didn't choose to make it correct. I ended up clearing up your mess
37:57Of course there's a hell of a lot. I don't think we did lord sugar. I had my hands in that meat and I mixed it
38:02What happens Elizabeth is you don't really take the advice of your team members. Yeah
38:06I did I did Elizabeth you wasted a hell of a lot of time to do it. No, I did not
38:10Yeah, you did. I did everything I was asked to do
38:13You didn't really you faffled around in the kitchen talking rubbish half the time
38:17Anyway, you also had to choose your trade team and your market team
38:22So tell me who you got there on the market team. I had with me jade elizabeth sarah jane
38:28Siobhan and myself where did you choose to go? We chose canary wolf
38:32We felt that it would be busy and it would be a really good option
38:35I mean karen sent me a picture of one of your burgers. It looked a bit like a constipated tortoise
38:41Actually when I saw the picture she sent through
38:44We had quite a lot of compliments surprisingly about it. You would not have said that was a luxury burger
38:49It didn't look as good as I wanted it to look right now then the trade team. Um, it was myself and michaela and joanna
38:57And anisa. Where did you go so according to karen you sold them cheap
39:02I mean, but we need to go to one fellow and he said how much of those and you said two pounds for a pack
39:08He bit your hand off didn't he well, that was actually strategy that I decided to use selling them, you know
39:13Cheap we actually had a conversation with um, the market team
39:17I did think when I spoke to the pm. Maybe we should go in a little bit higher and then bring it down
39:21Oh, no, no, no, I was very clear on the strategy
39:22I didn't want it reduced to the last minute
39:25So that was left to you because I wasn't there to do that negotiation
39:28But I was very clear that I did want those reductions made
39:29Yeah, Bushra, you did agree before we went in and we had so many of them left
39:32If you want to leave with two pounds, you don't start with two pounds
39:36Okay, so look ladies generally speaking good project manager. Yeah, she was really good
39:40And you felt you got good support from your team. I felt for a first task. I got decent support. Yeah, all right
39:46vitality
39:48Sounds like something you take before you're going out on a date actually
39:51We spent such a long time just choosing that name and just going round and round and round
39:56I've got the picture from claude very very clearly. You chose what healthy burgers buffalo and turkey
40:03High protein low fat low cholesterol. Okay, and then trade team go and buy the buffalo
40:09I was the one that negotiated and the reason for giving me 17 pounds was we will collectively show the passion of your products
40:16How can you show the passion of the product?
40:19It's not a couture dress is it?
40:21I had to step in and actually I got it down to 17 pounds
40:26I said to him we would be able to promote your business while selling as well
40:29Okay, so we've got it for 17 quid in the end and the market team purchased the turkey. Is that right?
40:34I took the lead on on the organic turkey and we settled on nine pound 25
40:40Okay, we go to the kitchen now. I mean it was pretty chaotic in terms of
40:44It was really
40:45I didn't take the reins and say this is what I want to do. He took too long
40:48I actually suggested that we send half the team out early to take some of the burgers
40:52We get to Brixton. Yeah, yeah, absolutely dead. It was it was
40:56Well, it was 1.30. I mean it was we did get there a little bit late
41:00The trade team was supposed to meet up in Brixton. Yeah, yeah
41:06So late that you moved from Brixton to Shorwich and that's where you finally met up
41:10What was the prices of your burgers five pounds the pack of buffalo and three pounds for the turkey?
41:15And that was based on my costing that I had to work out myself
41:19Back in the kitchen. Yeah, but you should have been making burgers. That's the point
41:21There was no strategy about the entire task done it at all
41:24To be honest, we were supposed to just be making the burgers. We should have just got in and got out
41:29Did I not tell you that? Thank you
41:32How was he as a team leader? I think as a PM, you just need to be a bit more decisive
41:36Danny, did any of them not support you?
41:38To be honest, Charles, man, I think you let us you let me down. I feel like you let me down to be honest
41:43Really? We were the ones who cherry choose to make all the money
41:46You would not listen. Give me an example, please
41:48The example is I've told you to make the burgers and meat that's in Brixton and you've stopped making the burgers and you talk about price
41:54We've finished making the burgers enough talking now. Let's get the results
41:58Karen, perhaps you'd let me know how the girls team did
42:02Well, as you know the girls bought their meat cheaply so their total spend came in at 374 pounds and 87 pence
42:09They made sales of 611 pounds and 65 pence, which gave them a profit of 236 pounds and 78 pence
42:19not bad
42:21Claude, how about yours for the boys team they spent 394 pounds 62. However, when it came to sales
42:28it was just 280 pound 45
42:31yielding a loss of 114 pounds 17
42:35the loss that is just diabolical that is really really diabolical
42:41all right well look ladies you're probably sick and tired of the sight of of meat so i'm sending
42:47you off to enjoy a vegetarian feast uh which is going to be cooked by tommy banks britain's youngest
42:54michelin star chef so have fun and i'll see you on the next task well done thank you
42:59see you gentlemen this is a very unfortunate start right now i feel like i'm looking at a load of
43:14dead meat to be honest with you you'll be coming back in here where at least one of you will be
43:22leaving the process off you go
43:32the taste of success
43:37oh my god that's amazing so we've done cauliflower steak that we've roasted and we said it was spruce
43:43but then also uh we want to get the uh smell of forest as well enjoy elizabeth was a bit airy
43:50fairy i'm not going to lie to you i tried my hardest to make things happen it was about just
43:54getting out there and getting the job done elizabeth loved beating that meat did let's just say
43:59i worked out all of my anxieties in five minutes i feel like i've done my best and i feel that some
44:05of the decisions i've taken absolutely contributed massively to this win how nice would this have
44:10been with one of our stakeholders i hope that we use this task and learn from our first mistakes
44:17um i have a feeling however that might not be the case well done everyone team graphing
44:27the location that we went to was unacceptable harrison you were the guy who put brixton forward
44:32you suggested brixton no i didn't we went to yes harrison you did you did what so i've said the word
44:38brixton and you said oh he said the word brixton so he decided it that's a complete cop-out and
44:42honestly that's got nothing to do with anything we were just stuck in brixton where there was
44:45absolutely no footfall in any way shape or form but i don't think the project manager kept the team
44:50organized at all it was complete disorder from the beginning what i'd like to find out is why you took
44:55so long in the kitchen after we left the key reason for us being late was due to labeling who who wrote
45:00organic turkey elliot myself created the label but it was turkey burger so you must have written
45:05not gunning we didn't sabotage around outside i assure you the length of time they spent in
45:09the kitchen is definitely the issue the failure of this task definitely lies on charles i told you
45:14i'm leaving the kitchen meet us in brixton and then you're going pricing pricing this that man
45:18it's too long in the kitchen you took too long in the kitchen you won't help me the five of you
45:22let me talk we wouldn't have been in that position i am not worried in the slightest
45:26my team know exactly what i did i know danny will be the one that will be saying goodbye today
45:35yeah could you send the candidates in please
45:55now i have nine people in front of me who purport to know about business and what i've heard so far
46:04i'm not very impressed at all so you chose brixton where'd you get that from if i believe if i'm not
46:12mistaken that's harrison we were talking about brixton i was just saying the information about
46:16brixton i didn't say we need to go to brixton what did you lot suggest if it was that bad why didn't
46:21no one why didn't no one stand up for it i don't think the task was lost at that point you don't no
46:26i don't because we still went to brixton you sold we still sold four burgers so not the burger king
46:32more like mr wimpy in brixton i know brixton was bad but and one of them was a salad for one of
46:37an understanding that was quite good though to be fair to him that was quite good selling a salad burger
46:41it was really yeah i'm really impressed no no no you know the point is is that you were always going
46:47to make money from the hot stuff yeah yeah it's possible to have a breakdown of the girls what do
46:52they sell heart versus there's nothing to do with you a hell of a lot a hell of a lot more than you
46:57anyway charles i relied on you to make the burgers and deliver them to us in brixton right three hours
47:04later you still weren't there if he spent less time in the kitchen he could have made a couple of bulk sales
47:08and then we could have gone if you'd have made them what happened between nine o'clock in the morning
47:14to 3 15 at six hours firstly the labeling we had organic turkey burger which was labeled wrong we
47:22had to then take the word organic out because you can't mislead the public that took more than half
47:26an hour to actually rectify that i i think charles just you dropped the ball on this jeff you had one
47:31job too late you put it late jeff wrong all four of you should have enough business acumen to know
47:36this is not a manufacturing task this is a profit task but at the end of the day the problem started
47:42in the kitchen we should have left the kitchen quicker it's all very well having a lot of stock
47:46if you're not going to sell it you're not going to bring any money in so one second i'm talking
47:50we were just told to manufacture and get on with it i'm not going to stand there and just stand next
47:53to you waiting for you to do numbers i am going to make more burgers i'm not going to stand there
47:57and wait for you to make a decision that was an hour later that's the number of times did we not keep
48:00saying we need to get out there with all due respect this is half the problem your inability to take
48:04criticism is yeah you just want to listen to what people say that's exactly and make a constructive
48:09decision on what they said you can't do it you're impossible to talk to around with numbers
48:14i'm going to be proactive i don't know what we're doing after all they weren't we were still making
48:18burgers charles charles charles danny on the phone called you and said to you please come out to us
48:22with the turkey but yeah why didn't you come out with those churches i'll tell you why because we
48:26couldn't do because the labeling was incorrectly done and who did the labeling all of you were totally
48:30oblivious to the fact that this is a task to do with profit and you get to your first opportunity to sell
48:38at 450. we spoke on the phone at 10 to 2 right the only thing he was talking about is the pricing
48:44strategy we'd already finished the burger listen i said don't worry about that get the burgers done
48:48and get them here when we got there we did we did well we sold out of buffalo pretty much we had one
48:53pack of buffalo left yeah listen uh danny you've got to pick two people that you're going to bring back
49:00into this boardroom with you um it's gonna have to be charles um i'm finding it hard to pick a second
49:08person to be able to get um but i really don't want to do this but it's going to have to be harrison
49:16danny i was a top salesman i was saying i was guessing i was a salesman i graph from the kitchen
49:21all day i'm putting valid points down i know if i wasn't i think we had if we had nine if we had
49:26nine of me we would have done well it's based on being at brixton i'm so wait wait this is a massive
49:31cop-out it was that's oh that is where we failed the task location was the problem location wasn't
49:37the problem getting there on time was the problem i didn't say right i think we have to go to brixton
49:42i said brixton is a different which two people you're bringing back top salesman and working hardest you
49:48can't that doesn't make definitely charles what are other people doing who didn't sell anything
49:53how many do you sell jet how did you sell on it two two well then i saw three okay fantastic
49:58okay it's gonna have to be charles and elliot right charles and elliot okay the rest of you
50:05go back to the house thank you thank you you three gentlemen i look at you to step outside i'm gonna
50:13have a bit more discussion with karen and also claude because at least one of you is going to be fired
50:19from the process okay thank you
50:31danny took the job as project manager because he's a manufacturer whether it's burgers or whether it's
50:38cosmetics the process is the same but danny wasn't really strong enough but he certainly wasn't somebody
50:42who led charles it seems that he doesn't listen to anybody makes his own decisions
50:48as far as elliot is concerned he's a highly qualified intelligent person
50:52well he took nine pound 95 from a whole day i mean that's pretty poor by anyone's standards
51:01yeah can you send the three of them in please
51:12right danny what is elliot doing here elliot was the person on my team that i felt that was the
51:22the weakest one and it was absolutely not true you saying that i was the weakest is wrong you picked
51:27harrison okay you're clearly very very very easily swine it's not this matter came down to location he
51:32chose brixton this task would not have been won by me selling two or three or four more burgers ellie has no
51:38right to be in this boardroom like with myself you flip-flopped and braille in listen right i told
51:43you to do certain things that you didn't do all right that's why i brought you in it and that's why
51:48this task why do you lose the truth is danny you didn't tell anyone to do anything it was up to me
51:53and other people on the team you did absolutely nothing it was a joke you were an absolute joke
51:59i let everyone have you're a passenger you're a passenger charles i do not understand what happened
52:05in that kitchen it was left in your hands after they did a runner two hours later you've done nothing
52:11we did not do nothing i decided the more quantity we could make would be better to sell trade we
52:16couldn't go to trade with only 20 packs it wouldn't have made any difference to the task charles he told
52:20you to come to brixton he did he told you to come to brixton we were in the car on the way to
52:25yeah we listen listen listen listen to me a minute right you listen to me a minute we called
52:30we called you at 10 to 2. why were you still there for another 90 minutes how long did it take us to
52:34make those buffalo burgers it took us from 11 through to 12 30 okay charles that's not the question he
52:39asked you no it's important no i'm answering you have elliot you want me to answer i'm answering the
52:45question you've got a problem with listening to people not at all or trigger can you honestly say
52:49you push your team to the max you've done everything you possibly can to make them burgers
52:53without question without question so why were you calling me to talk to me about pricing when
52:56i told you not to do any price i didn't get any lead from my project i did give you lead i said don't
53:00worry about it make the burgers i'll call you don't worry about it how did you know how much to sell
53:06these for i looked at the cost of the total price of the raw meat and i put all the costumes together
53:10you plucked a number out the edge no i didn't yes you did he's full of hot air lord sugar he he makes
53:14statements okay you you're you're putting some blame onto him but i'd like to see your notebook where you
53:19worked out the prices i mentioned in the kitchen i specifically said we had absolutely no idea what
53:23we were selling them for when we left in the car how much were we selling burgers for tell me we
53:27didn't know we didn't know we didn't know so we left the kitchen yeah we left the yeah okay the point
53:33the point i'm making elliot is that there was no strategy so what did you do i i absolutely raised
53:39that point and the reply was we'll sort it out later we need to get these things made we need to get
53:43you know we've done it in the car on the on the way to brixton i just thought we need to get and
53:49out and sell danny one of your claims here when the pressure is on i perform better well the pressure
53:56was on and you didn't perform danny had absolutely no control of this task and charles riles people
54:01up the wrong way a key part of business is getting on with people and you do not get on with people
54:06is that right incorrect incorrect i'm telling you mate if you was working for my business i would
54:11sack you after this well your business we bust if really really well my business is doing all right
54:16mate one of your claims charles is that you say i don't do anything unless i'm winning
54:22so if i'm not winning um that's a failure yeah this is a failure this task no question oh really
54:29really you know but failure as you said was not saying of hot burgers charles also admits that he
54:34talks too much and doesn't always listen enough okay you know without these guys knowing what you put
54:40in your own cv they've come up with it you don't listen i'm not perfect i can improve lord sugar
54:47elliott the failure of this task is down to who danny lord sugar i'm simply down to the fact this
54:52comes down to strategy there was absolutely nothing what would you say i would say charles
54:57and i would say danny for the same reasons i later escape well do you know what worries me charles
55:04one gets a feeling about people immediately and the feeling i'm getting is that you're a little bit
55:11disruptive and i can't deal with disruptive people to be my business partner danny you've made some
55:21serious errors and i think you got a bit overwhelmed as far as elliot is concerned i really don't know
55:28what you did on this task and that worries me really having said all of that the fact of the matter is
55:36charles we can't have disruptive people here and whilst you say that you'll get better as time goes
55:44along it is regretful that you've acted in this way in this first task
55:51but danny this was a disaster and i don't think you managed the team well danny it is with regret
56:02that you're fired thank you you too
56:05this is very early in the process charles okay so i'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt
56:23okay so the pair of you go back to the house thanks okay
56:25the biggest mistake i made was trusting charles as sub-team leader it shouldn't be me sitting here
56:51it should be charles because the reality is with a personality like that he's going to get
56:56sacked within the next couple of weeks anyway harrison how do you feel about getting picked and then
57:02being swapped out as soon as you said my name i wasn't gonna let let myself go back
57:08charles was pretty destructive to be honest he is the weakest link in the group
57:11our team will be stronger without him i hope he stays then
57:14well done boys yeah it was pretty uh pretty intense there in the boardroom you can see
57:27us looking and going can i work with you charles that's the question he comes to i came back here
57:32and i'll never be defeated i will not stop fighting until i win this
57:35now 17 candidates remain the search for lord sugar's next business partner has begun
57:50next time this task is making money from interior design a high-end hotel makeover
57:59oh my god oh that's perfect leads what is it is this upside down to renovation ruin too much chaos
58:07too much chaos it's like someone's pukes rainbow in this place and in the boardroom i mean it's
58:13diabolical check out time i wouldn't trust you with a hotel in monopoly you're fired
58:28so
58:33so
58:39so
