00:00and welcome to The Apprentice Unfinished Business, the companion show that picks up exactly where
00:05Lord Sugar's pointy finger leaves off. I'll be joined each week by brilliant guests to dissect
00:10the tasks and get some business tips and insights too. We'll also bring you exclusive chats with the
00:15fired candidates. Now, a quick word of warning, if you haven't watched episode one of series 20,
00:21what are you doing frankly? But stop, head over to iPlayer to catch up and save yourself from
00:25some very fiery spoilers. Coming up, to celebrate the launch of the 20th series, I'm joined by
00:32Apprentice superfan Richie Anderson and my brand new friend from when I did Celebrity Apprentice,
00:38have I mentioned it? Yeah, we won. Apprentice royalty Mike Zutar is here too. And after a
00:44double firing, Georgina and Nikki will be here with The Apprentice Lowdown. So, boardroom doors
00:49unlocked, let's get into some unfinished business.
00:55Richie, Mike, welcome. Oh, thanks for having us. So excited to be here. The very first
01:02unfinished business, right? Thank you very much. Do my job for me, Mike. You'll be back.
01:08Honestly, I cannot quite believe that it is the 20th anniversary of The Apprentice. Things
01:13have changed a lot, let's be honest. Since the show started, there's been eight prime ministers
01:17since Lord Sugar started firing people. Eight. Eight. It was also pre-smartphone, pre-Instagram,
01:24pre-side hustle. It was basically a historical drama at this point. So, 20 years ago, Richie,
01:29what were you up to? So, 20 years ago, 2005. I don't know if I was born, actually, Angela.
01:35I'm joking, obviously. Obviously, it's just good writing. I remember when The Apprentice first
01:40come on, the iconic orchestral theme tune. And because we didn't go and rush off to Instagram
01:45and TikTok and Facebook and all that. You weren't double screening. We were sitting there
01:50in the cafeteria at college talking about The Apprentice. Who are these new candidates
01:54in their suits running around? Lord Sugar back on television. And I just remember it was
01:59a great time when I had all my dreams laid out in front of me. Obviously, I was 18, so
02:04it was pre-braces. So, I had the big teeth, the glasses, the big... I looked like a Guess
02:08Who character. But it was a good time for me, you know what I mean? It was a great time.
02:12I was in Copenhagen at a full moon party topless. Okay. Yeah. That was me last week. Listen,
02:18if it works, it works. Mike, what were you up to? I remember The Apprentice starting. Back
02:24there, I was... At the time, I was on the board of Britain's biggest magazine publishers.
02:29I had the most cushy job you could possibly imagine. And The Apprentice did this amazing
02:36thing. I think alongside Dragon's Den, which came out in the same six-week period, it kind
02:41of transformed the way that people look at business. All of a sudden, people started to
02:47think in a more entrepreneurial way. Business wasn't a thing that just business people understood.
02:53And interesting fact here, within a year, I had left my cushy corporate job and started
02:58my own business. And do you think that was because of what you saw?
03:03I think that was a period where everybody began to think life could be more than just
03:09having a straightforward nine-to-five job. It really inspired so many people. And it's
03:15incredible, I think, to be sitting here 20 years on and to look at just how much it's
03:21changed.
03:21And it did make business sexy. It was like, oh, those characters, you started to understand
03:28the complexity and how glamorous, although, you know, the day-to-day.
03:32But listen, you think back then, right? You had people like Paul Teresi was in the first
03:36series, was a massive name. Sayurakan. Tim Campbell, I mean, where is he now?
03:42I don't know. It didn't work out for him.
03:43He has not aged a day. Right, episode one. Let's get into it. It did not mess about, did
03:51it? It was absolutely supersized. We had a double firing. We had Lord Sugar given at
03:56the 007 and an apprentice first, a boardroom out of London.
04:02Oh, yeah.
04:03And because it's 20 years, it wasn't just 18 candidates like usual. Lord Sugar dropped
04:09two more in, bringing us to a lovely round 20. And, I mean, what a bunch they are. We've
04:17got CiarĂ¡n, the a bit sexy estate agent. A bit. He's a low-key, humble kind of man.
04:23Roxanne, the chilli pepper pocket rocket. Try saying that after a few glasses. And Daniel,
04:27who made his first meal at 25, but kind of didn't.
04:31Yeah, no, no. It's a big thing to say when I made my first million and then you find out
04:37that would turn over. That's before costs. So, shall we talk about the profit? Oh, a
04:42profit of maybe a tenner?
04:44Doesn't matter. Sounds good on Instagram. Do you know what I mean? Times are changing.
04:49It's all fluff. Richie, who stood out?
04:51Well, every year when The Apprentice comes on, me and my family have like a apprentice
04:55sweepstake. So, we put all of the candidates into a hat. We put 50p in each and then we all
05:00draw out a name. So, I've got CiarĂ¡n this year. And also, because there's two extra candidates,
05:05it rounds up to 20 quid this year. No, a tenner? This is why I'll be bad on The Apprentice.
05:0950p each. Is that a tenner?
05:10It's a good few.
05:11A tenner.
05:12I mean, look, have you got any room for any more people to join the sweepstake?
05:16Well, this is it. Because we were blindsided by the two new candidates, we do need two
05:19more.
05:20I'll give you 50p.
05:21Oh, there you go.
05:21You've got my 50 as well.
05:22I will have to take it away with me. So, I absolutely love CiarĂ¡n. I think he's brilliant.
05:27Do you love him or do you love him because he got him?
05:28I love him because I got him.
05:29Great.
05:29So, you know, I've got to back my boy.
05:31Yeah.
05:31But I'm loving Karishma. I mean, she's just fabulous. She's so fierce.
05:35And also, the way she was able to think on her feet with that negotiation. I love Conor.
05:42He is the ultimate, like, passenger seat driver.
05:44Oh, dear.
05:44And I feel like CiarĂ¡n was the PM, but Conor was the CEO on this channel.
05:49Conor was 100% CEO. Mike?
05:51I really like Priyash. I just think he's got that kind of bubbly sense of enthusiasm that's
05:58going to get him through the process.
06:00Yes, quite a long way.
06:02Does he have killer instinct, though?
06:03Well...
06:04To me, he's like teddy bear material.
06:06I mean, I wonder whether he might toughen up.
06:09Well, let's talk about the specifics of this week's task. A fan favourite. Discount buying.
06:16The candidates were tasked with finding nine items for the very best price.
06:20Yes.
06:21In Hong Kong, it's my absolute favourite as well. Why do you think this is such a gem of a task?
06:26Oh, for me, the discount buying task in The Apprentice is like Blackpool to Strictly.
06:32You know what I mean? I feel like it's the one that all the candidates want to be involved
06:35in. And because it's the first task, they don't really know each other and their personalities.
06:39Yeah.
06:39So you're kind of thrown into the bear pit with this one.
06:42But it's almost like the discount buying aspect of this task was somewhat forgotten because
06:48they couldn't find the things. So the actual negotiation was less of an issue in a way.
06:56But I think, you know, a task like this, it's a procurement task, right? So if you're in
07:01procurement, what you need to know is what's the spec of the product that you're trying
07:05to buy and how much are you willing to pay for it? And that is the basis then for all
07:09the negotiation.
07:10And it does feel like there was a, maybe that's like first week, you know, first task panic.
07:15You know, I think both sides struggled.
07:17Yeah.
07:18But I just think there was no, there was just no structure to follow with it.
07:21It was given supermarket sweep. It's as if they thought Hong Kong has got four walls.
07:25We're going to be contained and all we have to do is womble around and find these. But
07:29no, no, no.
07:30Also, it's, you know, Hong Kong is an extraordinary place. You know, it is the absolute centre of
07:35commerce and deal making. But it's vast.
07:38Yeah.
07:38When they were looking at those maps in the brainstorming, they're going, well, we'll start in the north
07:43and you guys start in the south. There are tens of miles between those things. The travel
07:49time that it takes between those, they just didn't grab the bull by the horns from the
07:53very beginning.
07:54Yeah.
07:54If they'd started small, then maybe they could have, they could have managed to build up more
08:00items as they went along.
08:02But you know what? In their defence, I do think it's so hard when you are following an actual
08:06map. So last year when me and Dean, we went on a cruise and before we got on the cruise.
08:10Are you saying you got lost on a boat?
08:12No, no, not on a boat.
08:13Before we got on the cruise, we boarded the boat in Athens.
08:16Okay.
08:16So we had a couple of days in Athens. And I said, because it's a beautiful country,
08:19a beautiful city we've never been to, let's go around without our phones and just follow
08:23a map. And it's easy. Honestly, Mike, you're looking at me, it's easily done.
08:26You did it by choice.
08:27We were nearly in another part of Greece. Honestly, I was two hours late for the boat,
08:31nearly.
08:31I mean, I'm not investing.
08:34Let's talk about the winning team, the boys. Even though they won, they didn't exactly cover
08:39themselves in glory, did they? They were kind of like the least bad of the two teams, weren't
08:46they? Ultimately, Lord Sugar was completely unimpressed. Have you ever seen him so despondent?
08:55That's week one, especially.
08:58I've never seen him so disappointed so early on. But listen, you know, if you're going to
09:05disappoint Lord Sugar, definitely don't make him fly 12 and a half hours to Hong Kong.
09:10Exactly.
09:11Especially not in economy. I mean, there's no leg room back there.
09:15And he's got long legs.
09:18Absolutely.
09:18Do you know what I mean? A little something special. Okay. I did a celebrity apprentice.
09:24I don't know whether I've mentioned it. I may have won or I may have not. Google it.
09:27Anyway, Lord Sugar has since followed me on Instagram. Big time. I know. And we've kicked
09:33it up a notch. He sent me a voice memo.
09:36No.
09:36Here's what he would have done differently.
09:38Oh, hang on. I play him at 1.5. Don't tell him. Please.
09:43Now, Angela, this is one of my favourite tasks because it should be ridiculously simple.
09:50Yet every year they make the same mistakes. Now, the first thing I'd do is don't panic.
09:57Read the paperwork I provide. All the clues are in there and make sure at least one person
10:03can read a bloody map. The split. The list. Then you split the list.
10:11Get on the phone. Find an item. Have a clear destination. Don't assume running around like
10:19headless chickens gets you nowhere. Remember, don't be afraid to walk away from a bad deal.
10:25No. Just say no. Fair points. All of them.
10:30He's still fuming. Absolutely. Live it. Absolutely. He's like, 20 of you. One of you. Impress me.
10:37Yeah. I mean, I think he's spot on with it. The point he makes is you start with a plan.
10:44You start with a strategy and you go from there.
10:47OK. I think it is time that we meet our first candidate to face Lord Sugar's famous firing finger.
10:55Let us remind ourselves of that very moment.
10:59Yes, you put yourself forward as the project manager. Very brave.
11:03But you was two hours late and you only got one item and you were the overall project manager.
11:14Lord Sugar, can I? No, you can't.
11:18And so it is with regret that you're fired.
11:22Thank you, Lord Sugar.
11:23Thank you, Brady.
11:24It's Nicky, everybody.
11:34Welcome. It's so, so lovely to have you here.
11:36I'm sorry it's so soon, Nicky.
11:39I know, I know, I know.
11:40How was it watching the task back?
11:42That whole process is such a long...
11:44We were there for, like, almost a week.
11:45So for it to be condensed down into just one hour and it's the whole meeting Lord Sugar to begin with,
11:51flying out to Hong Kong, doing the task, the firing, everything.
11:55And then it's literally 60 minutes.
11:58It's crazy.
12:00But no, it was fun.
12:01We did have lots of fun doing it.
12:03It looked like you did not.
12:07I was stressed watching you.
12:09But you did put yourself forward for PM first task.
12:12A very, very brave move so early on.
12:16Looking back at that decision, do you stand over there?
12:20Are you happy with that?
12:22I went in saying I'm going to put myself out there straight away.
12:27Regardless of the task, I wanted to be bold and make a statement.
12:31And I just thought I could take control.
12:33I felt like we weren't really a team.
12:36Everyone was very much individual, paying for themselves.
12:40And I didn't know anyone's strengths either.
12:43But I did what I said I was going to do.
12:46And I said, I'm just going to go in and I'm going to be strong, put myself out there.
12:51Obviously, it didn't pay off.
12:53But I like the energy.
12:55You were like, I don't care what the task is, what skills are required of me.
12:58I'm going in.
12:59Kim Kardashian is an inspiration of yours.
13:01That feels quite Kim K.
13:02Hey, she's like acting sure.
13:05I'll do it.
13:05Billionaire, sign me up.
13:07Yeah.
13:09With like the whole Kim K thing, like as in, I know she's got a lot of negative media and press.
13:14But if you look at her, she is a powerhouse.
13:16She's a mom.
13:17She's a billionaire.
13:18She's a businesswoman.
13:20She's got a law degree.
13:21Like she's got everything going on.
13:23So I look at her and think she is an inspiration.
13:26I'm a mom.
13:27I was like the only one on there with like two like really young kids as well.
13:31So, yeah.
13:33And again, it's that in itself is a challenge, you know, like leaving your kids.
13:37And again, they're so little.
13:39So it's a lot.
13:40It's a lot.
13:41Did the two kids enjoy watching you or did they understand it?
13:46They will see me on a screen.
13:48But again, they're still very little.
13:50So I don't think they'll fully understand like what I've gone away and done.
13:54But obviously now we're in this generation, I can record it.
13:57I can save it.
13:58I can show it to them later and just show like, you know, you can do it all.
14:02And also maybe what you can say to them is, you know, Lord Sugar points at the people he really likes.
14:07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
14:09That's a beautiful way.
14:10I can tell them anything.
14:12I won.
14:13I was the winner.
14:15I think you should be so, so proud of yourself.
14:18And I'm sure they will be too.
14:20I just wanted to go in and just show like, you know, being a mom isn't end of everything.
14:25You can still do everything.
14:26So that's why I just wanted to go in strong and lead everyone.
14:31Very inspiring.
14:32Did you, did you kind of, do you think in retrospect, you missed out on the planning part of the task?
14:39Because it's all very well being brilliant and negotiating.
14:41Yeah.
14:41But unless you're actually in a position where you can show how good you are at negotiating, it's a bit difficult.
14:46It felt to me like the girls team were out there without really having an operational plan to go alongside the negotiation strategy.
14:55Yeah, definitely.
14:55I think when we was in like the brainstorm, we supposedly had this good idea.
15:00We, we thought we had mapped out the items and we said we can start at, in this location that, you know, the heart, the sub team can start at that part of the island and we'll start at the other part of the island.
15:09And we felt like we had a really good, strong idea of where the items were.
15:14Um, but it felt like you didn't really look at the information.
15:20Like there was quite a bit of information.
15:22You're like shrimp paste, anyone, let's go looking for, you spent a lot of time looking for shrimp paste.
15:28So with the shrimp paste, tell me, Nikki, it's supposedly really common in Hong Kong.
15:33So it's like we could, supposedly, supposedly, um, we could get it anywhere and it was an easy,
15:40Who said that?
15:41All the locals that said that, everyone we spoke to said, oh, yep, shrimp paste, you know, like there's fish markets, they're known for fish that, you know, they, they like, they like their seafood.
15:49So we thought it was an easy win.
15:52Um, and the areas that we were in supposedly had shrimp paste, but we were just running around like headless chickens.
15:59We don't have anything.
16:00We don't have any phones.
16:01So we're just going with local knowledge, um, which obviously completely sent us down the wrong ways, but.
16:07Literally down the wrong way.
16:09Into a spot of trouble, actually.
16:11Let's have a look at this.
16:15Guys, I don't know.
16:17Keep going.
16:18There are wild dogs everywhere.
16:20Guys, where the hell are we going?
16:22I don't know.
16:23I'm scared.
16:24I don't deal well with dogs.
16:25I don't either.
16:27We think it's directly.
16:28I thought we'd lost you, Nikki.
16:29Honestly.
16:30So did I.
16:32First ever, 20 years in, gone.
16:36Ravaged by wild dogs.
16:37You also lost your driver.
16:39I mean, that's a bit of me, to be fair, if I had one, you know.
16:43So with the driver scenario, every time we went somewhere and exited or left the shop, the driver was always there.
16:50This time, we went to a location, came back out and the driver wasn't there.
16:54It was the driver's fault.
16:56What was the first thing that popped into your head when you got to the top of the stairs in front of the Buddha?
17:00It was night time.
17:01Karen had gone home.
17:03Tim had gone home.
17:04The boys weren't there.
17:05What was the first thing you thought when you got to the top?
17:08We asked great.
17:10And you were right.
17:13Okay.
17:14Nikki, thank you so much for being such a brilliant sport.
17:17We wish you the very best of luck in whatever is next for you.
17:20Nikki, everybody.
17:24Well, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for sub-team leader Georgie either.
17:28Let's remind ourselves of her firing.
17:31I think you're your own worst enemy.
17:33You come in here, you bring two people in and you say they shouldn't be here.
17:42And so you leave me nowhere to go.
17:46So, Georgina, regretfully, you're fired.
17:50Thank you, Lord Sugar.
17:51Thank you very much, Reggie.
17:53Thank you, Tim.
18:01Georgie!
18:01Yay!
18:02Lovely to have you here.
18:04You are way too nice for business.
18:08Karen said that you were a little emotional.
18:11But you didn't come to play.
18:12You went straight in for PM and ended as sub-team leader.
18:16Exactly.
18:17That's, you know, punchy.
18:18Yeah, I don't think I'm too nice.
18:20I think kindness is, you know, it's cool to be kind, right?
18:23I don't think kindness is weakness at all.
18:25And I definitely think everybody thought that was the case.
18:27But, you know, maybe everyone's opinion of what a businesswoman should be is wrong.
18:32Should change.
18:33Should change.
18:33And it's not me.
18:34I felt like you were the ultimate hype girl.
18:38Yeah.
18:38The ultimate hype girl.
18:39You're passionate.
18:40You're beautiful.
18:40You're brilliant.
18:41You're powerful women.
18:42And I was like, that's the kind of woman you want to wake up with in your head.
18:46Well, there you go.
18:46You know?
18:47I loved it.
18:48What went wrong?
18:49Well, what didn't go wrong?
18:51No.
18:52I don't know.
18:52I think I put myself forward to be PM, obviously.
18:55And I was really looking forward to doing that.
18:56Because I, you know, I don't know.
18:59I didn't necessarily know exactly what we were going to do.
19:01But I do feel like I'm a good leader and I'm good at bringing people together, you know?
19:04And we could have all used our heads to find out the answers for it.
19:08And I don't know.
19:09I just think, yeah, they didn't believe in me from the get, which is fine.
19:11It is fine.
19:12It happens.
19:14But, yeah.
19:14Well, I think that we have got to go straight to one of the most memorable moments of the
19:19entire task, where you performed a little jingle on the spot for a Marjong set.
19:23Now, I have form in the jingle space, if you saw the celebrity version.
19:29Gary the Penguin.
19:30If I say Gary the Penguin, what do you say?
19:34Gary the Penguin.
19:36Gary the Penguin.
19:39Gary the Penguin.
19:41Don't leave me hanging, Georgie.
19:44I was duping.
19:46Let's remind ourselves.
19:48Are you ready?
19:50And five, six, seven, eight.
19:52Global Marjong is where it begun.
19:55Global the media is Global Marjong.
19:58And again, Global Marjong is where it begun.
20:02The leader of the media, Global Marjong.
20:05I'm so good.
20:10I honestly was shouting at the screen when I saw you go, five, six, seven, eight.
20:15And, oh, it was supreme.
20:18It was described as an incredible bespoke one in a million tagline.
20:22So your hype girl was kind of, you know, that was bleeding out into the rest of the group, but was having an effect.
20:29Yeah, definitely.
20:30I was buzzing when Karishma said, hey, Georgie's going to sing you a song.
20:34I was like, let's go.
20:36Yeah, no, that was really fun.
20:38And it was a great song.
20:39Can I just say, on radio too, when people put out a new song, all new songs out get straight to the hook, straight to the point.
20:45And you did that.
20:46There was no build up.
20:47There was no bridge.
20:48It's a hit.
20:49It is an absolute banger.
20:51It's Richie's record of the week.
20:53It is.
20:54There we go.
20:55I was surprised that that woman was like, I'll give you 10%.
21:02Like 10% is a student discount.
21:03Do you know what I mean?
21:04You have that button by default.
21:06Anyone can press that.
21:07She's like, I'll give you 10%.
21:08Dance for your supper.
21:10She was my unsung hero.
21:11Anyone that stood out for you guys.
21:13I love the lady in Chunky Stationery.
21:16The one who sold the pineapple paper, but it wasn't the pineapple paper they wanted.
21:21Because she thought, okay, you're offering me this money.
21:24I mean, you're paying well over the odds for that.
21:25You take it away.
21:26I mean, she could have stepped in and said, that's not exactly what you need.
21:29But she's a savvy businessman.
21:30She should be getting the investment off Lord Sugar.
21:32You know what I mean?
21:33So you respected the ruthless dagger approach.
21:37She closed up when they left the shop because she made the day's profit.
21:40You know what I mean?
21:42What about you, Mike?
21:44Anyone who stood out?
21:45Well, listen, I mean, not a candidate, but I really loved the Air Who guy.
21:53They'd bought it.
21:55They'd got a decent deal, Presh.
21:56They'd got a really decent deal.
21:58And then they stood there for the best part of half an hour as this guy re-tuned an instrument
22:03they were never going to use.
22:05And they were just all so awkward and polite.
22:07I mean, if I was there, I'd have picked the guy up with the Air Who and taken him into the cab.
22:14Would you really, though, Mike?
22:16Because I think your manners are also impeccable.
22:18It was this kind of...
22:19It was like time slowed down and they were all twiddling their thumbs and they did attempt to interject a couple of times.
22:26But he was, like, in a meditative zone.
22:28I think you have to find a way to be able to intervene in a situation in a way that doesn't offend people,
22:35but does remind them that you are on a very, very strict deadline.
22:39Now, you didn't get an Air Who.
22:41No, I didn't know what it was.
22:42So did you think, Nicky, bring back your guys, you were like, oh, phew, starting to melt slightly.
22:47A little bit, yeah.
22:48Like, I was fully expecting them to be like, OK, Georgie's coming back, cool, I'm aware of that.
22:52OK.
22:52And then Nicky would bring back one of her guys and then they would squabble together
22:55and then I would just charm Lord Sugar.
22:58OK.
22:58And get the stay, you know?
23:00That's what I thought was going to happen and it did not go the way that I'd hoped.
23:03I didn't really see you say the reason you shouldn't be getting rid of me is bang, bang and bang.
23:08That is a regret because I was so focused on trying not to upset the girls that were next to me, right?
23:13I was so focused on them and their feelings and their future and their businesses and everything.
23:17I wasn't thinking about me.
23:18And in hindsight, who would you have nailed?
23:21Oh, that's mean.
23:22Do you know what?
23:23The only reason...
23:25You're so lovely.
23:26Tell us.
23:27I just think I needed a lot of help with figuring out where we were and what we were doing
23:32and I think had we have got to the Majon place quicker, we would have had time to get the tea cake
23:36because we knew where that was and that was next on the list.
23:38We would have had time to get that.
23:39Then we would have had two products and it wouldn't have been so bad.
23:42So maybe a bit more help from all of them with directions.
23:46You did so much.
23:47You did.
23:48Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
23:50Go on.
23:50I think that's all right.
23:52Direct question.
23:53Who would you have got rid of?
23:55Do you not think that's quite clever that I skirted all the way around that without giving you?
23:58She escaped me.
23:59Not if everybody in the room notices.
24:02Nobody did but you.
24:03You're throwing me under the bus.
24:04Go on.
24:04Who?
24:04Carrington.
24:05Dawn.
24:07But it's hindsight.
24:08Hindsight.
24:08But she still did a great job.
24:09She got so much better.
24:10Oh, stop.
24:11You fired her.
24:13I do think there was a bit of that.
24:15You attempted to make phone calls.
24:16You were actually like very proactive and it did feel sometimes like you may have actually
24:22done better had you dropped a bit of dead weight and pelted up the hill on your own.
24:26This sounds really harsh.
24:27But yeah, if I'd have just done it on my own, I think it would have been a more successful
24:31day.
24:32Yeah.
24:33But it's all right.
24:33But also, Karishma.
24:34And Karishma, yeah.
24:35Karishma took all the credit.
24:37She did.
24:38Because obviously it was her idea for you to do the song.
24:40But you came up with the song.
24:41Yeah.
24:42I mean, some of the others in the background, I'm not being funny, were just clapping along.
24:45They weren't really singing.
24:47I felt like you should have really owned that.
24:49And you were sat next to Roxanne, who didn't really contribute as much.
24:52I know, guys, it is a lot, there's a lot of, now, do you know what, it's happened.
24:56Unfinished business.
24:56Unfinished business.
24:57Unfinished business.
24:58Oh my gosh.
24:58Couldn't write it.
24:59Now, I have set my guests their own task this week.
25:04Mm-hmm.
25:05They've picked, don't look so surprised.
25:07They've picked a song that they think best represents how they feel the task went in something
25:14I like to call boardroom bangers.
25:16Oh.
25:16I know, it's good.
25:18Mike, what have you gone for?
25:20I've picked something that I think sums up the almost impossibility of that final run up the steps.
25:27I've picked this.
25:31Yes.
25:34Oh, it's good.
25:38Richie, how about you?
25:39Well, I'm going to go back to the mid-2000s when The Apprentice first popped onto our screens
25:44and I've gone for this.
25:51And that's in tribute to the runaway driver who made Nicky's team nearly, we thought it was two hours,
26:03nearly three hours late.
26:04I mean, where was he?
26:05Come on.
26:06Where was he?
26:06I love the sentiment, but I feel like he did shut up and drive just with nobody in the back of the car.
26:11Yeah, that was the problem, Angela.
26:14Okay, first task is over and we saw at the very end of the episode that the next task is going to be children's books.
26:23I've actually got an exclusive clip right here.
26:26I would also just like to make a point.
26:29I was actually counting the pages and we've missed like two or three of the pages out of the book.
26:35You didn't want to mention that earlier on, was it?
26:36Because, you know, this is exactly why earlier on I said we should be numbering the pages so we're keeping on track.
26:45No.
26:45Tim's face.
26:46Oh, Tim's over it.
26:48He's absolutely livid.
26:50How would you approach this task, Mike?
26:53Oh, I think if you're going to go into publishing, you need to be very clear that the product is the most important thing.
27:01So a great book will sell itself.
27:03If you're going to produce a book and the pages are, say, in the wrong order or missing, that's not a promising start.
27:12Oh, what a treat.
27:13Thank you so much, gang.
27:15That was absolutely wonderful.
27:16Best of luck, Georgie.
27:17With whatever you do, I'm sure we'll be seeing lots more of you.
27:21Thank you for having me.
27:26Thank you to our fired candidates, Nicky and Georgie, and of course to Richie Anderson and Mike Sutar for all their insight and opinion.
27:35And if you think you have what it takes to be Lord Sugar's next business partner, applications are still open for series 21.
27:42For more details, head over to bbc.co.uk forward slash apprentice and come back next time for another chapter of Unfinished Business to find out who has had a not so happily ever after.
27:54Until then, mind the gap between confidence and competence.
27:58I'm Angela Scanlon.
27:59Goodbye.
