00:00New York City, it's the benchmark for success.
00:22We're only the very best, make it to the top.
00:25And in this town, the sky's the limit.
00:28Believe me, I know.
00:37My name is Donald Trump, and I'm the largest developer in New York.
00:41I built a lot of buildings, but I also own golf courses, resorts, the Miss Universe pageant,
00:46the Miss USA pageant, a model agency.
00:49I even have a television show.
00:52Who loves the apprentice?
00:53All together, I have over 100 companies, and when the first season of The Apprentice finally
01:01finished shooting, I was able to get back to my core business, real estate, and I've made
01:06some really incredible deals.
01:08All right, so Steve, you go from $2,095,000 down to $1,825,000.
01:13I'm giving you the job without the bond.
01:14Do we have a deal?
01:15We have a deal.
01:16I thrive on energy.
01:18Energy is what it's all about.
01:22I have great people that work for me.
01:25In fact, I'm flying back from Chicago, where I just met with Bill Rancic.
01:29Last year, I hired Bill because I thought he was the best candidate for the job, and today,
01:34he's overseeing the construction of my new building in Chicago.
01:37All right, I'm on top of it.
01:39I'll get that done for you tomorrow as well.
01:41And now, I'm ready to hire somebody new to run one of my many companies in the Trump
01:45organization.
01:46I'm looking for someone who's smart.
01:49I'm looking for someone who's a leader.
01:51I'm looking for The Apprentice.
01:53This isn't a game.
02:03It's a 15-week job interview.
02:05And this time, I've invited 18 candidates to New York City for the chance to be my apprentice
02:12and learn about the world of big business.
02:15They come from all walks of life and from all over the country.
02:18Some have educations from the finest business schools in the world, Harvard, Princeton,
02:28Wharton.
02:29How you doing?
02:30Others have only a high school diploma, but have proven their entrepreneurial skills in
02:35the workplace.
02:37From stockbrokers to business owners, hotel developers to real estate developers, venture
02:44capitalists to attorneys, they are the best and the brightest of what America is.
02:48And they'll work on some of the most grueling tasks they've ever imagined.
03:00Last year, I had the candidates sell lemonade.
03:03This time, they'll work with some of the biggest companies in the world.
03:07Mattel, Pepsi, Levi's, Procter & Gamble, and many others.
03:12Companies that are worth billions and billions of dollars.
03:15I'm not playing games.
03:18These candidates will be in the big leagues.
03:23This is the chance for them to work for me at a huge salary and maybe learn something
03:28so they, too, can become a billionaire one day.
03:31I love New York City.
03:40It's where the American dream was born.
03:42And I want to give these 18 candidates a chance at winning the dream job of a lifetime.
03:48Who will succeed, who will fail, and who will be the apprentice?
04:20Some people really need it
04:24Listen to me, y'all
04:25Do things, do things, do things
04:28Bad things, with it
04:30Dollar bills, y'all
04:34Come on, that's
04:35D-O-D
04:38Make great
04:41Almighty dollar
04:43I don't know that's money
04:46Give me a nickel, brother
04:50Can you spell that
04:52Money can drop
04:54Some people out of
04:56The more
04:57No good, no good
05:02Money, money, money, money
05:04Money
05:05Money
05:20These 18 candidates will live together in a beautiful suite in Trump Tower right here on Fifth Avenue
05:27But they'll also compete against one another in a series of tasks
05:31Thank you
05:32Each week
05:34Someone will be fired
05:36It's brutal
05:38It's tough
05:39It's business
05:40Thank you
05:47Hi
05:48Hi
05:48How are you?
05:49Good, thank you
05:50May I please have your name?
05:51Jennifer Massey
05:52Would you please put your bag over there?
05:54And then have a seat
05:55I got off the elevator and I was the very first one
05:59So it was just me and the receptionist
06:01There is that feeling of intimidation and scariness when you first walk in
06:06Ultimately for me, I think I view the boardroom as a challenge
06:09Because I think that's where I'm really going to prove myself
06:11Checking in
06:19Okay, and your name?
06:20Raj Bhakta
06:21You can put your bag right over there
06:23With everybody else's
06:25I got to be honest
06:26Raj isn't like any other guy
06:29You know, I said before
06:30The closest thing you could compare him to is Rodney Dangerfield and Caddyshack
06:33And I hope he can teach me how to tie a bow tie
06:36Because those things are P-I-N-P
06:37I'm pretty impressed
06:39When I first walked off of the elevator
07:01My first thought was I want to see my competition
07:04I absolutely and equivocally know
07:06That if I'm really trying to already figure those people out
07:09They were certainly trying to figure me out
07:10There's a gentleman who has a shaved head
07:14He looks like he's got his stuff together
07:16And like he's going to bring it to the table
07:18We'll see whether or not I'm right in the next few days
07:20I think first impressions are tremendously important
07:25I start surveying weaknesses
07:27As soon as I get into a room
07:29I look around and I start surveying
07:31Who do I think I can pick off in this room?
07:34One particular girl just looks like Cruella DeVille
07:37She seems very aggressive
07:38Almost overly aggressive
07:40So I can tell that's someone that I'm going to get going from day one
07:44I know I can push her buttons
07:46Robin, let him in
07:51Would you all please step into the boardroom to meet Mr. Trump?
07:55Wait a minute
07:56It's the absolute opportunity of a lifetime
08:01So you're very anxious
08:03At the same time you're really pumped up
08:05I mean I'm sitting there in the lobby of the Trump organization
08:08About to meet one of the most powerful men in the world
08:10If that doesn't fire you up
08:12I don't know what will
08:12Nice looking group
08:41Welcome to New York
08:45It's the meanest city in the world
08:48It's the most vicious city in the world
08:51But it's also the greatest place on earth
08:54So welcome
08:56You're going to be going through a 15 week job interview
08:59With myself
09:01With my people
09:02And speaking of my people
09:04I'm going to introduce two very loyal people
09:07And unless you're not from this world
09:10You would know who they are
09:11One is Carolyn Keptcher
09:13She's been with me for a long time
09:15She's tough
09:16She's nasty
09:17But she's also actually very nice
09:19And the other is George Ross
09:22And he's really been with me a long time
09:25And he's also tough and nasty
09:27And he's actually not very nice
09:29You know I see the women are all smiling
09:32Because I think they have it made
09:33And the truth is
09:34The women really did well
09:37Last time
09:38At the beginning
09:40But at the end
09:42It was a man that won
09:44So I want to see what will happen with this group
09:47If we do that again
09:48Just like last year
09:50I'm breaking up the teams into men versus women
09:54Nine versus nine
09:57Each week
10:02I'm going to assign you a business task to accomplish
10:05You will then assign yourselves a project manager
10:10The project manager will be held partially responsible
10:14For success and for failure
10:16But I want to try something different this year
10:19If your team wins
10:21And you find yourself in the boardroom
10:25The following week
10:26Your project manager is exempt
10:28Think of it as an incentive
10:30For being the project manager
10:31But if your team loses
10:33You'll all meet me right here in the boardroom
10:37Where someone will be fired
10:39You're all really talented people
10:43But only one of you
10:45Will end up running one of my companies
10:47Go up to the suite
10:51I'll see you tomorrow
10:52Congratulations
10:54Thank you Mr. Trump
10:56To be perfectly honest
10:57I want to see Mr. Trump as much as possible
10:59And interact with him as much as possible
11:01I don't want to be doing that in the boardroom anymore
11:03I don't like going there
11:05And dealing with the fact that somebody needs to get fired every time
11:08I want to win
11:09And I don't want to see Mr. Trump in the boardroom anymore
11:11Check this place out
11:28Oh my
11:31Look
11:32Oh my god
11:36Oh my god
11:39It doesn't end
11:41Ah, purple
11:42This is bigger than my dorm room
11:46That the games begin
11:49All I gotta say is it's gonna be fun
11:50I am strong
11:52Very nice, Raj?
11:53No, R-A-J
11:54Raj, nice to meet you, Raj
11:55Man, those pants, man
11:57They're on fire, man
11:58Those pants
11:58Nice to finally meet you
12:00Pleasure indeed, Pamela
12:01It's intimidating for me, by the way
12:03To talk to a woman who's substantially taller than me
12:05Get used to that feeling
12:06I am going to have to
12:07I'm going to put on platform shoes like Joseph Stalin
12:09Champagne?
12:10Yahoo!
12:11Gather the troops
12:12We have champagne
12:13Woo!
12:13Dom Perignon, in fact
12:14There's champagne set out, there's caviar
12:20It was quite fancy, quite impressive
12:22It was fun to just pop a bottle of champagne
12:24And raise a glass to everyone that was there
12:26All right
12:27Woo!
12:28Nice to cheer!
12:29Woo!
12:30Woo!
12:30Woo!
12:31Woo!
12:31Woo!
12:32Woo!
12:32Victory!
12:33Woo!
12:33Victory!
12:34Woo!
12:34Victory!
12:35Victory!
12:35I chose to the men dominating the women
12:38Yay!
12:39I don't know if this is just West
12:44Putting on a game face
12:46Trying to look cool in front of the guys
12:47But I don't trust him
12:49I know that he's extremely sarcastic
12:51But maybe too much
12:52And
12:53Who wants to work with a guy who's like that?
12:56Girls!
12:57Girls!
12:58Girls!
12:58We have an envelope up yet
13:00Let's get on that
13:01I'm going to test the champagne
13:02It's only Spittingly meeting the gym
13:02Show up
13:03It's Spittingly meeting the gym
13:04The gym
13:05It's Spittingly meeting the gym
13:06Seriously!
13:07It's Spittingly meeting the gym
13:08We finally made it over to the women's side after drinking all the men's champagne
13:22after drinking all the men's champagne and we found the letter and we read it
13:26and it just basically had said from the desk of donald j trump congratulations and welcome to
13:31your suite i hope you enjoy your stay in one of the world's most beautiful buildings trump tower
13:36please enjoy some champagne i think we enjoyed more than some yes it's a taste of things to
13:42come if i select you as my apprentice but don't celebrate for too long you have work to do
13:47in business you have to be flexible and be prepared for anything you have to be able to
13:51handle the unforeseen curveballs that pop up in the workplace this is your first opportunity to
13:56prove you can roll with the punches i want each group to permanently give up one of their members
14:01to the other team and for the first task i want those two people to be the project managers and
14:07lead their new groups okay oh my god everyone understand
14:15all right here's what i think we should do is one of two things either we take a blind vote
14:20or we put names in a hat names in a hat let's ask if anyone wants to do it yeah unless somebody
14:25wants to do it anyone will want to go meet the women i mean i don't know if you tell me you guys
14:31i mean i'll do it you would like to do it i'll do it cheers to you done
14:35i mean you have mbas harvard grads west point men and everyone's looking at each other like who's
14:51going to step up to the plate i mean when you're looking around for who's going to step up to the
14:55plate i'm the guy who takes home base points to the center field and knocks it out of the park and
15:01that's what i did here who are you he's the leader who am i i'm the bradford what do you mean who am i
15:12i'm listening i'm listening to your i'm listening to your reasoning and now we have one of the guys
15:17on our team as our leader and project manager everybody needs a y chromosome i know you guys
15:24kind of need to bond with your new leader i'll just go over to the boys it's totally cool no i really you
15:28know what it'll be better and everybody will mash and it's all good because i kind of want to lead
15:32the first thing anyway let her go that's fine see how easy that is pamela either made a really
15:39bold good move or she made a really bold stupid move simply because we don't really know each other
15:46that well at this point all right all right welcome
15:52how's it feel to be a man my penis is getting larger with every minute
16:03bradford leaves pamela walks over pamela being just a presence already i think she's six nine
16:11for the trade that we got i i i think we came out uh on top we have to pick the name yeah i was gonna
16:18just break it down british battleships are a great way to find names you've got intrepid
16:24you know dauntless that is dreadnought oh my god the only serious one i thought of was mosaic
16:30it's lots of different pieces that come together to make something beautiful what about what about
16:34something new yorky what about a little bit more like um empire state or something um
16:40empire empire corporation yes i like it i like it pretty good caesar would be happy with the name of
16:46empire they didn't make it a little fluffy they said we're an empire let's go get them okay well
16:52so that's an option empire garage did not like the name mosaic from the beginning he wanted to call
16:58us empire he wanted to call our team empire roch feels like hey i've got an opinion everybody's
17:02going to know it i mean he's a unique individual he's going to be him and and that's flat that's just
17:06how he rolls empire's cooling mosaic was the only other one i threw out there i like that ask for a vote
17:13real quick just real quick mosaic okay there it is oh we're getting a strong i'm not raising my
17:19head fine but if that doesn't work if that doesn't work it's empire i do not like our name mosaic
17:29corporation i think it's a fruity toot name i think it says nothing other than the fact that we're
17:34politically correct
17:41i don't even know i mean it's it's it's antithetical to my character and i don't like it at a fundamental
17:46level
17:53all right so we have mogul we have commodore corp we have plaza tower we've got innovation we've got
17:58create determination heart elite flex to the max or flux max we have tiger ego star empire money luxe
18:06power triumph we have conquer we have sex we have magnificent pinnacle we have paramount we have luxe
18:14core we have builder luxury quality we have ltf which is larger than life and we have apex right now
18:22can we narrow it down to three nations i think bradford may wonder what he's gotten himself into
18:30to a certain degree i think that he's not had a lot of intimate one-on-one you know lots of close
18:35conversations potentially with a group of women at one time i haven't seen him greatly overwhelmed yet
18:41i think it will happen we'll see i i like elite corps that's it okay we made a decision
19:04apex is a great game to be honest with you after hearing all the girls talking over each other and
19:09i couldn't get a word in edgewise i was feeling like we were a little bit in trouble i started to
19:15think to myself what the hell did i get myself into no honestly the way that you guys have flipped it
19:21so the girls have a masculine name and you guys have a a feminine name i think that's gonna work i am
19:28on the record mosaic i am on the record seriously what do you think donald trump's gonna say when you
19:32go in there tomorrow and you say of what of what of mosaic i want to be one of the empire corporation
19:39and you're mosaic what's your name mosaic hey dude save your energy on the clothes and fight for the
19:47name a little bit more hey look i couldn't wait for the men to tell mr trump mosaic i'm like god you're
19:55the guys mosaic are you kidding me man i'm getting my ass handed to me today
20:09hello hi good morning this is ronan mr trump's office good morning he'd like you to meet him at
20:308 a.m at 8 a.m at toys r us toys r us at 8 a.m great okay thank you bye-bye
20:52good morning good morning before we get started i have to ask what are your team names apex corp
21:22apex sounds good name mosaic mosaic wow that's awful does everybody like the name mosaic before
21:30you begin you're picking a name do you like it i i say we revote what are you carrying the cane for
21:36i look like you have two very good legs to me the team likes the name that was very decisive and your
21:42name is pamela that's right you're the team leader i am did you step up i did volunteer to take a bullet
21:49for the women and to move over to the men's team and lead them in this task well i think that's very
21:52good we'll see how you do your team leader is bradford so bradford how did you get this position
21:59volunteered did you volunteer i don't consider taking a bullet i think i think you were very
22:03i think i did all right okay let's get started we're standing right now in toys r us in times square
22:13it's the nation's largest toy store the toy industry it's a big industry 20 billion dollars
22:22a year before i get you folks dealing with adults i'm going to have you work with children for your
22:29first task each team will develop a brand new toy for mattel the largest toy manufacturer in the world
22:37you'll have access to all the mattel resources you need when you're finished creating your toy
22:43you'll present it to these people standing on my left richie weintraub mark sullivan and evelyn by all
22:50are some of the top people at mattel at the end of the day the team that creates the most marketable toy
22:58as judged by these fine mattel executives wins george and carolyn will accompany you they will be my eyes and
23:06ears at the end of the day the losing team comes to the board room and somebody will be fired
23:16have a good time good luck thank you
23:22i like it
23:32okay the first thing i want everybody to do take off your ties lose the ties immediately no one in
23:46this business has a tie on nobody wears a tie at mattel my whole team was in suits and ties looking
23:52like a bunch of bankers so as soon as we got into the mattel headquarters i immediately had them take off
23:56all of their ties to begin not only looking like but thinking like a mattel executive i think we
24:01just need to start brainstorming just whatever kind of comes to us what about some kind of funky like
24:06backpack you turn it's got a mechanism where you like you turn your head and it turns the nozzles
24:10and you can like waste people kids love that crap going with that same water thing and what if you did
24:15that and made it like a whole magnetic fish tank it's pretty simple technology it's just like a magnetic
24:21field with magnetic field with magnetic fish was i don't mean to okay but like i really like crustacean
24:25yeah i don't know if that's just me i think the name crustacean are you feeling the crustacean vibe
24:31can i tell this one out it's called crustacean nation and what you're dealing with is this
24:37interesting lobster torso so we're going to give you six different appendages you can play with
24:43and i don't know if it's a claw or it's some bizarre spear or gun type of thing and these trading
24:49cards are going to tell you exactly what these appendages do maybe you have you know you have
24:53a good and you have an evil team that's a great idea and then basically what these guys do is that
24:57the evil team they're always interchanging depending on whatever mission they're going to go on the
25:00good guys they do the same thing they're kind of reacting so you have good parts totally interchangeable
25:09rob wanted to contribute and felt that he wasn't part of the creative process as much as some of
25:15the other guys but that's that's definitely the flavor of what we need to do i think we've got
25:20some tremendous ideas and i think we need to go with it i agree with that sometimes it's a difficult
25:26situation to be in so he was trying to do his part for the team we don't have to stick with crustacean
25:33i mean i've got kind of like an electrostatica you know it's an eel that also migrated onto land and when
25:39he gets to land he morphs legs and arms and like can shoot electricity from his fingers and just you
25:45know that type of thing i think that maybe my strategy was as such that you know i'm going to
25:51try to contribute to as much as possible without getting in anybody's hair without throwing a wrench
25:55into whatever somebody else is doing it's not good to accessorize an eel because it's a snake-like thing
26:00rob we gotta we gotta kill the eel i thought so let's just go ahead i was doing what i thought was best for
26:08the team and if that means to just chill out and hang back a little bit and let things iron
26:13themselves out then that's what i'm gonna do we need something to put on the on the table tomorrow
26:22that is innovative and compelling so should we take half an hour to just download all of our ideas
26:27that's what we're doing yeah that's what we're doing maybe i'll write them on the board okay
26:30the second that we arrived at mattel we just went around the table and said what is your idea
26:35what have we all come up with so we just sort of described what kind of toy we thought was going
26:39to be innovative and compelling just a starting ground the drag queen wardrobe for every young boy
26:46if a boy six to eight had an easy bake oven what would that be it would explode things
26:52well it would explode things okay i was worried about that the women wouldn't be able to put themselves
26:57in the shoes of a six seven and eight year old boy and i had a feeling what little boys want in a toy i
27:01mean i i know what are good toys i'm gonna explain this to you guys okay look if you melt down a
27:08little kid a normal little kid a boy this is what he wants the football guy it looks like a little guy
27:15with a helmet with a face and you drive it around and the little sweeper thing it picks up the football
27:20it's sports it's competitive you love that do you guys feel that you aren't feeling that i think
27:31bradford was pushing for the football game idea because i don't think there's much intellectual
27:37horsepower going on out there he wasn't thinking about kids today that want a more sophisticated
27:42toy and that that wasn't innovative it was it was ho-hum do you have another idea yeah one for like cars
27:51the ultimate vehicle like take different parts from like a tank a boat or you know what i mean like
27:56okay no we're going with the football idea i'm making an executive decision that's it kids may
28:02or may not be passionate about sports no we're going with the we're going with the football idea
28:08brad says listen i'm going to make an executive decision we're going to go with the little remote
28:12controlled football players i'm running with my idea to be honest with you i understand you guys
28:17it's my ass on the line i'm going i'm going with my idea i thought to myself if i could just get my
28:23hands around his throat his jugular i would absolutely take him out right now
28:35ideally you want quick decision makers however you can't make it so quick that the decision's going
28:41to be wrong i'd rather have somebody take their time and come out with the right decision but
28:46the best combination is good decision making quickly you guys been working hard yeah you need
28:53to know i'll talk at once you need to just run the meetings like because we can't all the shouting
28:57i know don't worry about it okay let's go out and bang this thing out we have to design a toy for
29:02mattel no one's excited about bradford's football thing a couple people have thrown out some ideas
29:07of remote control cars bradford was still against it but at this point we have to go to work
29:13we had the patel design team that was going to work with us to design this toy and we had one
29:18day to do it you want to kind of shoot some ideas around kind of crawl into your head a little
29:23bit see what you guys think see if you guys think that you know our ideas might suck have you seen
29:28anything like my idea on the marketplace where it combines uh a remote control car with a a sporting
29:37event and has it worked it hasn't fared so well no yeah i don't that's a financially i don't know
29:44how successful it is at the moment so that's what we want to know so what if we did wait a second what
29:48if building on that if we did a remote control car that you can interchange everything on um well the
29:55idea is is good okay i don't know is that exciting you get excited by that originally what my vision
30:04was was a remote control vehicle with a little football guy on top i love that idea the reason
30:12why i didn't go with that idea is because when we were talking to the design guys one of the design
30:16guys said yeah i saw something similar to that it really didn't fly the thing is is can we get that
30:21ready for tomorrow we think we can do that we're going to be pulling all-nighter here that's fine
30:26we can do it so it's gonna be an all-nighter okay okay good okay now we're talking tonight i took a
30:33step back and reconsidered my management style you can't always be a dictator sometimes you got to be
30:39a democracy and you have to listen to what everybody's saying and kind of feed off of that
30:45everybody 100 percent love that idea yes all right i think honest to god it could be a phenomenon
30:53good i firmly believe that
30:59uh check out hey guys check out the leds the cheetah and he's going to have uh claws hanging
31:15over i love this guy here he looks he looks very scary doesn't he scary mean dude
31:20oh looking good man oh that's cool right now we have we have two cars that definitely everything
31:29comes off making four is hard and a challenge we are trying to live up to that you got this piece
31:35here in the back that changes and you got a hood it was a surprise to me that the design team from
31:40mattel would be able to have a working prototype within 13 hours of the time that we came up with
31:46the idea it was absolutely phenomenal so you can show how the parts work that's that's not an issue
31:51kudos to you guys for doing a phenomenal job great job i felt everything was going great and then all
31:57of a sudden i remembered okay it's now time to go into these focus groups there's our little those kids
32:04look fun and these are the true consumers of the product these are the kids that are going to be
32:09playing with it and if they say this is the worst toy i ever saw we're sunk
32:25funny guys he's just introducing himself and the concept of uh walking into the two-way mirror with
32:30the kids on the other side you know it's slightly like terrifying because you are there with george and
32:35the head designer who's judging well now you're not going to hear what we have to say you're going
32:40to hear what these yeah the real deal that's what i'm talking about get a good view so guys this is
32:46called the metamorphosis okay let me show you what the deal is oh i love that kid you're shorter than me
32:54he's like me when i was little do you guys want to come up and take a look i love these
33:00guys those kids were great when they got that toy in their hands the way they acted reminded me of
33:23how i would have acted if i was their age and i saw that toy i was thinking okay well obviously
33:36there's two outcomes either we win or we lose thanks appreciate it all right thanks hey it's
33:42going to be kind of hard you know it's it's dependent on the kids and that could go wrong
33:53well they mutated from many animals like this is a undersea cheetah it's like half fish half cheetah
33:57once the designers were able to create us something we had to go straight into a focus
34:02group and see if what we created kids really liked that was going to be where this task was won or lost
34:07let's find out what the kids think here's the guys first one i've got
34:12it's something called crustacean nation you want to come up and take a look at this
34:19there was one kind of surly kid in the beanbag chair who wasn't having any part of our product
34:25he was kind of wise to the whole thing he wasn't believing in santa claus anymore
34:29you want to get a bit of clothes
34:40there's only one thing i have to tell you what's that they pull apart two weasels
34:45prototype
34:48they understand
34:52who cut that child's hair i was thinking that's a pretty incredible hair
34:55what happened
34:59looks like a mini dumb and dumber
35:04i was like you know i was trying to make an impression here in front of you know big executives
35:13you're dealing with professionals that their life is dedicated to children they
35:17make toys this is what they do and they love kids
35:24after the focus group was out of our hands mattel was going to sit down their top executives were
35:28going to discuss the pros and cons of everybody's creation and they were going to decide which team
35:34got this task done better
35:51we were sitting in the room waiting to hear which team had won and suddenly stacy j takes this magic
35:58eight ball and is trying to get everyone's attention in the room does this mean we won hold on wait hold
36:02on hold on i did it like 18 months i said yes you know what i'm gonna just check this one more
36:07time the outlook is good the outlook is good one more time i don't know what triggered her
36:14behavior but stacy j she went completely off the first time i picked this thing up hey excuse me
36:24excuse me excuse me why is no one listening over here and then something went very wrong and to this
36:31day i'm not sure what that was you guys listen what's up with the three of you guys man because
36:36you know what's up what you know i said the three of you guys what's up why are you coming up no you
36:42guys are like being really really quiet why what's going on i was just wondering you guys are acting
36:46really strange that's all you're paranoid all right maybe i'm paranoid that's cool i mean i guess
36:52we're going to sleep here all night until we find out what's up so everyone had backed off of me
36:57and was being very distant and calm and uncaring and very anti-social and i felt it was anti-stacy
37:07actually so i mean i think that that that whole situation made me start flipping even more he signed
37:12a toy for us like the back of the toy was saying that he's oh we did i think we won did we win
37:19dude do you guys think we won yeah put something in your drink you guys we won all right that's what i'm
37:25saying i think we won so let's go we won so let's just go and claim our prize i think we won do you
37:30guys think i'm like some freak or something what have you done with stacy it's a switch of a
37:36personality we have what does it mean it means there's eight of us there's eight of us that means
37:42we're all there's nine there's nine of us so what does it mean that means one of us is gone so what
37:48does not just messing with you i don't know relax what the hell is i think that everybody's thought
37:55in the room is definitely obvious that regardless if we won this task or not the next person to get
38:00fired off our team was going to be stacy j without a doubt she completely lost control she buckled
38:05under pressure and we cannot let that happen again it brought our team down there was anxiety and it was
38:12just nuttiness it was psychotic what's up tell me what's up dog what's going on i mean you're the
38:17team leader you can tell me what's going on nothing is going on you're driving me up the wall just
38:21relax yeah dude seriously you got to chill out
38:26i'm gonna cancel that meeting i'm going over to mattel thanks spike
38:47welcome welcome move on in step right up guys
38:52come on in i think it's time to tell these guys what we think right
39:06great efforts i mean amazing stuff in a very short period of time uh very impressive you guys came in
39:12and had a lot of passion a lot of creativity uh it shows and so here's mr trump and we're going to tell
39:21you what our final answer is well i really thought i wanted to join you for this so how did they do
39:29uh both teams did do well this team did an awesome job mosaic with the action figure line it was a
39:35little close to other things that might be in the marketplace it's not as fresh as some of the other
39:41things it's not exactly wacky it's not exactly heroic kids want to feel like they know how to play with
39:48the toy and we need to give them a little more direction than you guys have the metamorphor gives
39:53us a chance to add to the tyco rc line already very successful for us lets us build on that success
40:00the kids really reacted to the action pack run it crash it kids always love crashing did you see a
40:07clear-cut winner or is it tight i think we have a clear winner in this business you always want the
40:12kids to steer you and add factors into the choice the winner is apex and the men of walter
40:32all right congratulations apex that's really a great job so the winning team is going to have dinner
40:39at twilight in my apartment with myself and melania and you can have a really great dinner at that
40:49bradford as far as you're concerned if you're in the boardroom next week if you lose next week
40:57you can't be fired so that's pretty good
40:59we love it and for the losing team there's a couple of words that i've really missed saying
41:08over the last few months somebody is going to hear you're fired
41:22we're gonna have to go with trumpy
41:34welcome to mr to home come in please thank you thank you
41:47i think melania is just a fantastic hostess
42:06she to me is like how a royal person would act i mean she is the epitome of a gracious woman and it
42:13was it was a fantastic time
42:18well so far so good right that's right so far so good so bradford did a good job
42:23with your leader excellent even though he's a man he did a good job he looks like a very happy camper
42:30i'm doing all right i'm not too shabby very good well come on we'll have a little dinner
42:39particularly humiliating to have been left dirty dishes and then beaten i think that those girls
42:44were up there with trump getting to know him on a more personal level was tremendously important in
42:49this competition and i would give up every reward that we win to be able to spend time with mr trump
42:54so that to me was more crushing than a defeat here guys here's our here's your reward
43:10how's your shrimp everyone fine great good shrimp actually so we're sitting at this fabulous table
43:16with mr trump and i wanted to remain as professional as i could at that table i wouldn't
43:22eat that shrimp cocktail until he put his fork in that shrimp cocktail i watched the knife that he
43:28chose i watched exactly how he ate and i did as he did but remaining cool remaining myself
43:38very nice wow how good does that look
43:46so what's with the guy with the cane what's that all
43:52okay let's play uh let's play trump
44:07does anybody have some duct tape you can just tape it over there's a group of nine guys and i march in to
44:15be their leader on a task and we fail i'm trying to make friends with these guys they bond on the
44:21basketball court they bond in their part of the bedrooms and i'm with the enemy team most of the
44:26time you just got to go with your gut on who's going to be the most helpful in the next one and the
44:31next one and the next one and they all cut as lean a muscle as you can you know as little muscle as you
44:37can yeah you don't envy my position i'll tell you that we gotta hit her with a shovel in the back of the
44:44head as much as it doesn't sound like you know a nice thing that's just the way it's gonna come when it
44:49comes to the blame for this task i really can't attribute it to any of the men just because no
44:55man at any time knew what they were supposed to do the blame here lies with our project manager
45:00who you bring to the border man probably me and you making me and you yeah maybe or me and andy
45:06yeah or me and andy hope so now i don't know bro i'm still waiting for the for somebody to tell me
45:13what to do all these guys that i was with today are unbelievably brilliant some of these conversations
45:19i'm sitting back with my thumb up my ass i feel very strongly that in the boardroom fingers are
45:23going to get pointed by pamela and she's going to actually say what did rob do and my answer is going
45:28to be you know what what did you tell me to do it's like getting ready for the game it is kind of got
45:34getting ready for your last game last game that's a unique circumstance yeah yeah you're right i think
45:39pamela sees me as a target because i'm young but what pamela doesn't know is that the reason why i'm
45:46here is because i'm a nationally ranked debater i mean that's what i do and so when i get into the
45:52boardroom i feel like that's my home turf and i will take her out
46:11hello hi how are you just put your bags over there
46:22okay tell me were you impressed with mattel i wasn't sure that the mattel folks were on board
46:44with what the dossier actually said well wait let me ask you something mattel criticizing them they're
46:50saying that they did it wrong and you could have you did it right i don't know anything about the
46:54toy industry we were throwing something on the wall and see if it stuck if it doesn't stick i want to
46:58go back to the drawing board i don't think you understood the children especially when you
47:01walked into the focus group actually i thought some of your comments were pretty offensive to parents
47:05in the room because you were you were making some offensive no i'm a parent there are other parents
47:09in the room i think by calling some of the children chubby or that's this one in the haircut and he's a cross
47:15between i have a bad haircut too he's somebody's child it was just a dumb and dumber haircut you're
47:22right i should i should have kept that so do you feel you can really relate to children with comments
47:26like that no i i don't relate to children i don't have children i don't i think there are only two of
47:30us here or one of us here has children raj wouldn't you think that men would have the advantage in
47:36coming up with a toy for little boys look mr trump i'll tell you i didn't have kid toys when i was a kid
47:41and i'm not a master of this domain why didn't you have toys i was you know enjoying my my imagination
47:46yeah but your parents didn't buy your toys no i i had a truck i think i didn't you had a truck i had
47:52a truck you like that truck i did it it was a truck i like to say something i cannot believe
47:59that with all you men knowing that basically things that move and things that are hot and things that
48:05race are what kids like that what you like is kids i know i had trucks that i used to pull apart and
48:10dump trucks and everything like that i can't believe that you didn't think there was something
48:14that motion was going to create it was going to win we were very inefficient because we never had
48:19a plan there were times when people were asking for us you know what family what should we do
48:24sometimes it was like we were chickens with our heads cut off wes in your opinion who did the
48:28worst job rob only because i do not think that he was utilized nearly enough and did not assert
48:37himself to be utilized as much as he could have been he is a talented individual what do you
48:42think unfortunately he wasn't i think that he's he's right on one aspect i was not utilizing here's
48:47the situation is that your fault excuse me yeah but aren't you supposed to sort of put forward
48:53as a team player no who would you say did a lousy job who would you choose pamela did a bad job of
49:00leading she is uh impressive in the boardroom she has great charisma she knows how to get us all fired
49:06up but i was not delegated a specific task okay chris who would you choose as being not up to par
49:15i would have to say rob and again it's just because he wasn't delegated enough responsibility
49:20and i said but is that his fault i don't think it's his fault
49:24now andy i haven't heard from you you're a genius from harvard and you're supposed to be a great debate
49:29champion i would say if i had to place blame with one person i would say that would be pamela
49:33because as you know a leader has a right to be defeated but never surprised and i felt that around
49:38every corner we were always surprised and to run this team in an ad hoc fashion i felt was unacceptable
49:44because there's no substitute for hard work and i felt that was what we were lacking kelly who would
49:49you pick i would say that rob had contributed the least amount of things rob you are getting killed you
49:56know that john if you were the leader who would you choose who would you throw out it's very difficult
50:03for me because don't don't look just tell me who would you throw out pick a name i really don't
50:08understand how these people are going to sit there and say pamela underutilized me come on you're here
50:13you're supposed to be a leader a type a personality you're going to sit in the corner of the room and
50:17say i was underutilized get yourself in the mix give me a break are you saying i didn't do it are you
50:21are you saying that i didn't jump in and try to do things i helped you with the story i helped
50:26create a uh part of the characters i jumped in i didn't pick out a name because i know you are
50:30you're talented we work on the story you've got a ton to offer but i gotta say we're here you're you
50:35got to lead a company the people that didn't step up to the plate and didn't get their name in the
50:39mix you got to stand up at the table and put an idea in there i mean i said let me do something
50:43here let me just be involved rob you were heard just because you weren't selected for things
50:48doesn't mean that i wasn't considering you now i'm going to give you a choice pamela this time
50:55i'm going to let you pick pamela two or three people to bring back with you into the boardroom
51:01who may or may not get fired we've never done this before what would you like what's the benefit
51:07of selecting three well i think you have a third person honestly i'm surprised you asked that question
51:11well just a third person to take the blame i'm just trying to understand i'm saying there's an extra
51:14person that maybe gets fired as opposed to you i'll take two okay that's why jeopardize the third
51:24who are you choosing unfortunately i'm going to take rob and andy with me all right that's fine
51:30all right wes john kevin chris raj kelly go up to the suite you're safe rob andy pamela i'll see you
51:42back here in a few minutes
51:56so what do you think well i think pamela is a strong leader i think she might have had some
52:13flaws but overall she managed eight people and she hardly knew i think she stepped up a bit what do you
52:18think george one thing i think about rob that bothered me a lot was that he should have been
52:23utilized more and i think he should have come forward and should have fought for that okay
52:30robin let him come in please go in to see mr trump thanks guys good luck man
52:53nobody grabs pamela's chair that's not very nice no need okay that's not very nice
53:08pamela why are you better than andy i've been working for 12 years i've got a deeper experience
53:17a deeper background a deeper educational experience i've built two companies i've been an investment
53:21banker i've got a better business gut andy will get there he's just not there yet
53:28why are you better than rob rob is a terrific salesman and a great people person sheer horsepower
53:35depth of skill set needs to be developed a bit what do you think rob i think they all know that in the
53:41right capacity and the right uh task that i'm invaluable they all agreed that i was underutilized
53:49and that i didn't have it your own fault a lot of people are underutilized because they don't choose
53:53to be utilized what do you think andy i think uh i think rob's a very intelligent person pam's very
54:00impressive who's the least of the two who would you say i didn't come here to compare resumes what i
54:05came here to do was to work hard and earn a job and when it came to this task i was the most
54:11successful and creative person on the team they both know that the rest of the team knows that
54:15the reason why i'm here was because my youth he's here because of a name he came up with crustacean
54:20nation what else did he do i tried to apply myself you think that was a good name yeah i like the name
54:25but it didn't matter we lost okay it's that time pamela you have a very very hard edge and i think
54:37somehow i don't know if that's going to disappear probably it's not going to disappear i doubt it's
54:42going to disappear rob everybody virtually said you just didn't contribute you weren't a go-getter
54:54you kept saying well sort of like i wasn't asked you don't have to be asked to do a job you really
54:59don't have to be asked now andy you know i do look at you as a little bit of a project i must tell you
55:09i think you're really smart i don't know that you have enough experience to be honest
55:14but i'm going to give it a chance and i'm going to say rob you're fired
55:26go ahead folks
55:41it's business thank you very much thank you
55:56that was not a cinch i will tell you that was a little bit tough it's going to be tougher as you
56:17go along this is a quite a group a smart group of people it's going to be a long
56:22hard it's going to be tough number of weeks okay let's go
56:47nothing happens by coincidence i accept his decision even though that i don't agree with it so
57:11i'm okay with that the fact that uh i was let go first is a bummer i didn't go into this thing
57:17thinking that it was a game necessarily i really wanted the job every single one of those people
57:21in there are extremely strong you've got some very unbelievably intelligent people in there
57:28who are also extremely cocky as well i think that every single one of those people need to go into
57:33that boardroom with the anticipation that it could be their last game i do think that i laid it all out
57:38on the table no pun intended and every boardroom has to be taken as if it's their last because as you
57:44can see it was my last
