00:00Hello and welcome to your Queensland Jane's weather update for Monday.
00:04We still have the remains of our band of rain, our band of cloud and rain that is moving through.
00:09Now that was heaviest overnight.
00:11There's the risk of further showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, mainly inland from the coast.
00:16Otherwise, let's have a look day by day.
00:17So here's the heavier band from this morning.
00:20So there were some decent falls with that.
00:21We'll have another round two of that this afternoon, but mainly inland.
00:25Otherwise, a bit of activity there.
00:26In terms of the heat, that one was down through here.
00:29This red line, it is retreating back up.
00:32So the long stretch of heat that we've had, we're now taking a little bit of a break from that, but it will be back.
00:37Here we have Monday.
00:38Let's now have a look at Tuesday.
00:39Fairly quiet now over the southeast.
00:41All the activity is up in through here, and that's where the heat is too.
00:45We've got a bit of a trough that's running in through there.
00:47So by Wednesday, that trough is now down in through here.
00:49So showers and thunderstorms out ahead of that one here, but skipping the southeast corner.
00:54Let's move into Thursday.
00:55They move through here, and our heat starts to come back again.
00:59So let's watch that as we move into the weekend.
01:02Here we have Friday.
01:03There is a cold change that is working its way up the coast, so the heat doesn't quite make it through there.
01:07Showers and thunderstorms in the southeast.
01:10Into Saturday, there they are, right in that southeast corner, and the cooler air is pushing its way up,
01:15so the heat is retreating back through to there.
01:17As we go through Sunday and then into next Monday, that heat is back once again.
01:22So what's that going to add up to?
01:24This is if we get widespread activity, which is not a lot, but in that we have our embedded showers and thunderstorms.
01:30If you're directly underneath one of those, then yes, it will be a heavier fall.
01:34This is from the morning's activity that is moving away.
01:37So if we come back to this later, you probably won't see that blob there anymore.
01:41Otherwise, we just saw how they came through in waves, just depending on where that trough was at the time.
01:47That trough and a cold outbreak is going to determine what our temperatures are too.
01:50So around 30 during the day on Monday, most of the wet weather was earlier.
01:54Showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, possibly severe, but mainly inland.
01:59Moving into Tuesday, back down to 27.
02:01We're also losing some moisture, so the dew point up on 21, now down to 17 as we go through Tuesday.
02:06So it'll feel like a different weather environment.
02:09Hardly any wet weather all in through here.
02:11Temperatures 28, just 26 as we go through Thursday.
02:14They jump back up again on Friday and into Saturday, and then that's when that next cold outbreak comes up the coast,
02:21and we lose the moisture as we move into Sunday as well.
02:23That's just 15 as the dew point by the afternoon on Sunday.
02:27With this, there doesn't look to be a lot of wet weather at this stage,
02:29but do keep informed as to how that changes, particularly if we get some showers and storms in there.
02:35If you're under one of those, it could be quite heavy.
02:37As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
