00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian Jane's Weather update for Monday.
00:04We have a little band of cloud that is moving across the southwest there.
00:08Otherwise, things are looking quite calm.
00:10We had a slight warm-up yesterday and we'll see that again today after a very chilly week.
00:16We've got high pressure that is doing a big ridge down in through here,
00:19but here is the next burst of heat that is going to be moving across the eastern states.
00:24We're seeing a hint of that.
00:25We're not getting the full brunt of that thanks to this jelly being high and the trough that is running in through there.
00:30We'll see the heat inland, but not right at the coast.
00:33So there's Monday.
00:34Having a look at Tuesday, there is the difference between our heat out ahead of us and the cooler air that is in behind it.
00:40So that's by the end of Tuesday, that heat dipping down.
00:44Having a look at Wednesday, we've got showers and storms falling out ahead of that.
00:47They're not over here.
00:48They're only out in the eastern parts of the state.
00:51The next ridge of high pressure is on its way in.
00:53And we're just getting a hint of wet weather, if anything at all.
00:56Having a look at Thursday, next high pressure system out through here.
00:59Here are our fairly zonal, so flat lines that are running in through there.
01:03That's not indicating that cold air is coming up.
01:06That is not indicating that hot air is coming down.
01:08But that changes again as we move through the end of the week.
01:11Here's the next surge of heat, but there is the change by the end of it.
01:14So we're not really seeing it over in the southwest.
01:16A hint of it, not the full brunt of it.
01:19Now, here is a little bit of wet weather, a first significant or slightly significant rain for a while.
01:24So there's by the end of Friday into Saturday, we might be seeing something there.
01:29Heat out ahead, showers and storms here, potential for some wet weather entering that southwest corner.
01:34And into Sunday, potential for even more of that, along with a surge of colder air.
01:40There'll be quite a sharp change from the heat that is here and the chill that is in behind it.
01:44So that's by the end of Sunday, and then this one into Monday, as yes, the next high pressure system does move on in.
01:50What might that add up to?
01:51We saw that all of that wet weather wasn't really during the week.
01:54It is as we go into the weekend.
01:56So there is the potential for 10 to 15 millimetres in the southwest corner.
02:00Nothing significant, but we haven't seen much for a while.
02:03And we've got a slight rise and lower of temperature based on where that trough and where that heat surge is.
02:09But we know it's not right coming to.
02:11It's not probably right down to the southwest coast.
02:13So for Perth, about 26, 25, we've got a dip on Wednesday, and then it goes back up here, 29 on Friday, back down to 22.
02:20And then cooler temperatures across the weekend as we might get a little bit of that wet weather coming in.
02:25So during the week, we are not as chilly as what it was last week.
02:29We're slightly above average, and there's plenty of sunshine to go with that too.
