00:00Hello and welcome to this South Australian James weather update for Monday.
00:04We've had a cold outbreak move across the southeast that is now out over the Tasman Sea,
00:09the speckled cloud in through there, but we do have some clouds that is left over
00:12and out ahead of the next cold front that is coming through.
00:15So what is that going to do for us in terms of wet weather?
00:18Not a lot. There's hardly anything out there underneath that cloud.
00:21High pressure is here by the end of Monday.
00:23By the end of Tuesday, that cold front moves across.
00:26It just clips the far southeast corner there.
00:28It will barely add up to a millimetre as it comes through.
00:31High pressure is now here by the end of Tuesday.
00:34We're starting to watch a heat build over in the west, those red lines there.
00:37Let's watch that as we move into Wednesday.
00:39There we go. A horseshoe coming down.
00:41So that's our heat that is surging in here.
00:43High pressure out through here, heat in behind it,
00:46and then a cool change that runs through here on a trough with showers and thunderstorms.
00:50So let's watch that track eastwards as we finish off the week.
00:54There is Wednesday.
00:55By the end of Thursday, the cool change is up and through here.
00:58So we've had it move right across the state in here.
01:01Showers and thunderstorms.
01:02If you're directly underneath one, it could be a decent fall.
01:04Otherwise, it isn't a lot of activity as it comes through.
01:07There is Thursday into Friday.
01:09High pressure is in through here.
01:11Another cold outbreak for the southeast.
01:13We don't get the brunt of that, but we'll clip the very edge of it.
01:16So there's Friday.
01:18Into Saturday, next surge of heat is starting to come down.
01:22Moving into Sunday.
01:23Here we go.
01:24The cool change is there.
01:25And then Monday, the chance, the potential for a slightly decent rain ban.
01:30Now, it is a full week away, so we don't have any confidence in the guidance just yet,
01:34but it's only one to watch to see what that actually does as it approaches.
01:38Let's see what all of that adds up to.
01:40Includes that rain ban next Monday, the potential for that one there.
01:43But otherwise, there's nothing significant widespread.
01:46If you do get a shower or thunderstorm, it may be heavy directly underneath that.
01:50So for Adelaide, let's have a look at our temperature roller coaster.
01:53We're down today.
01:54We've got 18.
01:55We've got a fairly dry atmosphere.
01:57Our dew point tells us how much moisture is in the air.
01:59Watch that increase tomorrow as that cold front just clips us.
02:03We'll get a tiny bit of cloud out of that, but that's pretty much it.
02:060.3 of a millimetre into the rain gauge is pretty much the potential for that,
02:10so it's nothing exciting.
02:12Moving into Wednesday, that's when our sunshine is out and our temperatures are jumping up,
02:16up to 28, 29 as we go through Thursday.
02:18But the cool change is already here by 3pm, so that is it moving through.
02:23You'll notice we've got our dry northerly, then we've got our moister southwesterly coming in behind it.
02:29That one may deliver a little bit of wet weather, but it doesn't look like anything significant at this stage.
02:34What it does do is drop the temperature down to 18 by Friday.
02:38Temperatures rise again over the weekend, 26, maybe 28 ahead of that change coming in,
02:43and then there is the potential for that band of rain to come through next Monday.
02:47As always, head to Farmer Longweather for the latest.
