00:00Hello and welcome to this Victorian Jane's weather update for Monday.

00:04We've had a cold outbreak moves through.

00:05There was snow to low levels in Tasmania late yesterday.

00:09All of that, you can see the speckled cloud is now out over the Tasman Sea,

00:12so it's a slight warming trend as we go through the day.

00:15The wet weather associated with that is also clearing out.

00:18However, looking over to our west, a fair bit of cloud that's in through here.

00:22The next cold front is here.

00:23That isn't going to have much of an impact on us.

00:26Let's have a look day by day.

00:27So here we have by the end of Monday, there's the remains of that wet weather

00:30that has pretty much cleared by the middle of Monday morning.

00:33Let's now move into Tuesday, and we're just getting a brush of a little bit of wet weather,

00:38mainly at that southwestern coastline, with a cold front that is passing by.

00:42We've got high pressure that is right over the top of us.

00:45So heading out to Wednesday, that high is now out over the Tasman Sea.

00:49That means we move into a northerly airflow.

00:51You can start to see the red lines in through here.

00:53That is heat coming down.

00:54We had our cold outbreak, now it is time for the heat on our temperature roller coaster.

00:59So Wednesday, absolutely lovely.

01:01Clear skies, starting to warm up.

01:03Thursday is when the heat really does arrive.

01:06We've got that coming down through there.

01:07But by the end of the day, here is the trough running down in through there.

01:11That trough is the cool change.

01:13With that, there are showers and thunderstorms moving through.

01:16So it's hot, a cool change, showers and thunderstorms sweeping in.

01:20Let's move into Friday.

01:21Here's our next cold outbreak that is coming in.

01:24So temperatures absolutely going up and then absolutely plummeting as we end the week.

01:28There are showers coming in from that.

01:30And the remains of the band of showers and thunderstorms with the change as it moves through.

01:34High pressure here by the end of Friday.

01:36So we'll have a look at Saturday.

01:37Out in through there by now.

01:39So Saturday is a clearing trend in terms of sunshine.

01:42Sunshine all day in the north and developing in the south.

01:45Into Sunday, that's our next heat that is coming through.

01:48But it is short-lived.

01:49The cool change is in through here and we've got some showers and thunderstorms on that.

01:53That could turn into a pretty decent band of rain as we move through Monday next week.

01:58But that is a full week away.

02:00We don't have high confidence in the guidance at that stage.

02:03So keep coming back to it.

02:04Check how we're doing.

02:06Check it to see if we've got that wet weather that is still on there and if it still looks like this.

02:10Now, what might that add up to?

02:11This is with that band of rain because this is through to the end of next Monday.

02:15And it could be a nice little decent fall.

02:17But that's really the main focus of our wet weather apart from later Thursday into Friday as we go heat and then cold to end the week.

02:27So let's have a look at that in action for Melbourne.

02:29We're about 17 to start off the week after that cold outbreak moved through.

02:33We've got lots of sunshine for the rest of the day.

02:35Sunshine for much of Tuesday.

02:37Bit of cloud in the morning.

02:38Sunshine developing.

02:39We're back up to the low 20s, 25 and then 30.

02:43So temperatures really jumping up as it goes through.

02:46Thursday is the warmest one.

02:47There is a late cool change with some showers on that.

02:50Now, that continues into Friday when our temperatures plummet again atop of just 19.

02:55Showers are mainly during the afternoon.

02:57As we go into Saturday, 18, they're back up to 25 for Sunday.

03:00Then back down to 19 if that rain bad comes through during the day on Monday.

03:04So up and down.

03:05Keep an eye on the forecast.

03:06Work out which ones are the warm days and which ones are the cool days.
