00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian Jane's Weather Update for Monday.
00:04We have got the engine room of a big rain system that is just off the coast here.
00:09So here is a low that is passing through and ahead of that we've got moisture pouring in from the Indian Ocean.
00:15So that one there is being driven by the energy from this system here and all of that is going to pass over to the southeast.
00:22So we've got it as it's developing, we're not going to see the main part of it before it moves on.
00:27There's going to be a second one of these as moisture continues to pour back in.
00:31Another engine room sets up, we see a little bit of it before we kick it over to the eastern late group.
00:36The bigger falls out of that.
00:37Now I also want to show you this pattern here.
00:40This is heat, heat wave forecast.
00:42We're seeing in the far east here but what we've got is a lot of heat and then this band of rain and then the engine room is kicking this off.
00:49Are we going to see some of this heat?

00:54Okay, let's have a look.
00:55Here's today.
00:56Now in terms of the purples and the reds, there's our heat that is into the southeast.
01:01In behind that we've got our blues here which is the cold air.
01:05Now it's not the deep blues that we have been seeing but there is a little bit of cold air there and really what it is is energy.
01:11So that energy, showers and thunderstorms all through these parts of the southwest in through here.
01:16So a lot happening today.
01:18Monday is one of the bigger days of the week.
01:19There is our moisture pouring in with our rain band that is heading across to the east of the country.
01:25So there's Monday.
01:26Let's have a look at Tuesday.
01:27We've got the remains of this passing through as the next high comes in and there is our band of rain and all of the heat in through there.
01:33Take a look at Wednesday.
01:35Not much happening.
01:36Here's our trough that runs down through here.
01:38So we're not seeing the heat come into the west coast.
01:40We are seeing it a little bit in through here.
01:42So the heat mainly confined to the north and there's the start of our next wet weather system.
01:46So there that goes.
01:48The heat pouring down in through here.
01:49We're missing out over in the west.
01:51Here's the next burst of energy that's coming up.
01:54Those two are going to clash together.
01:56We've got the development of that over us here.
01:59So we don't see very much as it goes through.
02:02It'll increase as it heads further eastwards.
02:04So into Friday there's that just skimming there.
02:06Here's our band of rain.
02:08All of that moving eastwards.
02:09There is Saturday and then there is Sunday.
02:13Now what's happening here?
02:14Here's our heat that is starting to come down.
02:17Let's have a look at Monday.
02:18What's going on here?
02:19We've got our purples and our reds.
02:21That indicates our surge of heat from the north.
02:24The trough is running down in through here.
02:26So that's right on the coast there.
02:28So yes, we are going to see a jump up in temperatures for that southwest corner.
02:32We've waited a while to get it and we're going to get it in about a week's time.
02:36Okay, what is that going to add up to?
02:37We are the proving ground before things move further eastwards.
02:41So they're seeing the big falls over in the east.
02:43We're just getting a little bit in through here and most of it is during the day today on Monday the 20th.
02:49All right, so let's have a look at Perth.
02:51We're about 19.
02:52We've got showers and the risk of thunderstorms passing through.
02:55So this is a bit of a wet day.
02:57Sunshine returns.
02:57We're 20, 22.
02:59Lots of sunshine building again to end the week.
03:02Here's our next burst of wet weather coming through on Friday as that next system passes across.
03:06Our temperatures all around 20, 22 here, all around 20, and then it jumps up later in the weekend and into early next week when we see our first taste of summer-like weather.
