00:00Hello and welcome to this South Australian Janesweather update for Monday.
00:04We have got a state of two halves.
00:07I first want to point out all the yellow and orange areas here.
00:10That is a heat wave.
00:11So that is heat that is zooming down into the east of the country,
00:15very closely followed by moisture that is zooming down from the northwest,
00:19from the Indian Ocean, and producing this band of patchy rain.
00:22So that's what's moving through today.
00:24Now, all of this is driven by the engine room, so to speak,
00:28the cutoff low that is over to our west,
00:30and all of this is going to come together in a bit of a one-two punch,
00:33followed by the next one that comes through later on.
00:36So there is plenty of rain in our outlook.
00:38We've got the heat to the northeast.
00:40We've got all this rain to the south and west.
00:43OK, so there we have during the day.
00:45On Monday, this is what it is adding up to today.
00:47It's just the first part.
00:48It is just the taste of that.
00:50You can see the purples and the reds.
00:51That's all the heat that is ahead of this rain band,
00:54so soaring down into the east.
00:56Here's our next weather system.
00:57Let's now have a look at Tuesday.
00:59Here is the engine room, the cutoff low,
01:01so that pushes all of that rain across here.
01:03We'll have it out ahead of that in the band,
01:05and then the wrap around in behind that as it comes through.
01:08So there's Tuesday and Wednesday moving through during the day
01:12and then clearing out.
01:13Next high pressure system on its way in.
01:15So here we have Thursday moving through and Friday.
01:18The next one is kicking off.
01:20Not long to wait for the next significant rain.
01:22That comes in during the day on Friday.
01:24Here's our next cutoff low,
01:25our next engine room that's driving this.
01:28That'll move across on Saturday and into Sunday as well.
01:31By next Monday, we're looking fairly clear with the next high in through there.
01:35So that is going to add up.
01:37We're looking at 25 to 50 millimetres all across the southeast in through here.
01:4115 to 25 extending well inland.
01:44Hardly anything for the northeast.
01:45That's seeing the heat at the earlier part of the week.
01:48We've got this band that comes down in through here.
01:50So you can look at it as being fed from the northwest,
01:53running into low pressure,
01:54and we're right in the zone to pick up the significant falls from that.
01:58What does that mean for Adelaide on a day-by-day?
02:00It's just light rain at times today.
02:02There isn't much left in it.
02:03They'll just add up to a millimetre.
02:05That changes tomorrow.
02:07When that engine room comes close, the low-pressure system,
02:09the cut-off low that wanders through.
02:12Fed by moisture, 21 millimetres is the average across the weather models.
02:17As we go into Wednesday, that continues.
02:19Nine millimetres.
02:20We take our break as we go into Thursday.
02:22It kicks off again as we go to Friday.
02:24Warmths and then warmth and then temperatures go down.
02:27So we've got rain developing over the weekend,
02:29and that one should also add up to some nice falls.
02:32So big falls across the week here,
02:34mainly Tuesday into Wednesday and then again Saturday into Sunday.
02:38As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the last.
