00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland Jane's Weather Update for Friday.
00:04We have got the remains of a cloud band that is over us,
00:06but we're going to see showers and thunderstorms out ahead of a trough line
00:10as we move through the afternoon and evening on Friday and into Saturday as well.
00:14So you can already see that cloud starting to build up in the later parts of the morning.
00:18So we follow day by day. Here we are Friday the 10th.
00:21We've got all of this heat that is surging right down into the southeast.
00:24Keep an eye on these red and purple lines to see where that heat pattern is as we move through time.
00:30So here's today our showers and thunderstorms pretty much line running in through there
00:34thanks to a trough line that is back in through here.
00:36They form on and to the east of that trough because that is where the moisture is.
00:40So today not quite reaching that southeast corner, but into tomorrow,
00:44yes, likely to make it through there probably later on in the day.
00:47The heat is still down into that southeast corner too.
00:50There is something building big time over to the west in through here.
00:53So let's watch that move through.
00:55So that'll come in as we move through Sunday, mainly a southern Queensland thing.
00:59Lots for the inland there, but particularly in through this line here.
01:02So watch that as we then move into Monday.
01:04There you go.
01:05Activity up into the north.
01:07But you'll notice that heat line is starting to retreat further north.
01:10So we'll get a break from that as we move through the early part of next week.
01:14So showers and thunderstorms turning to areas of rain as we move through Monday.
01:17By Tuesday, that has retreated just out of that southeast corner.
01:21It's all dry over the inland too.
01:23Watch this pattern, how it goes up in through here, but it's coming down in through here
01:29in terms of which way the horseshoe is going around.
01:32This indicates heat coming down.
01:34This indicates cooler air that is coming up.
01:36So that'll tell you what the temperatures are likely to do.
01:39So let's have a look at all our new trough that is developing.
01:41So showers and thunderstorms out to the east of that.
01:44Here we have Tuesday into Wednesday.
01:46That moves more inland.
01:48Into Thursday, it's fairly unorganized by that stage.
01:51Friday, and then maybe into that southeast corner next Saturday.
01:54So we've got the showers and thunderstorms pretty much coming back.
01:57We've got access to moisture whenever there is a trough in town.
02:00And if you're out to the east of that, then you are in the storm risk zone.
02:04What might that add up to?
02:05We know we've got our band of rain that is coming through.
02:07It looks like these areas in through here are most likely to see the heaviest falls from
02:12that one.
02:13But hit and miss showers and thunderstorms are with that as well.
02:17So if you're underneath one of those, then yes, it is a heavy fall.
02:21Let's have a look at what to expect from Brisbane day by day.
02:23First of all, temperatures.
02:24Let's look at that pattern.
02:26Up in the low 30s, almost mid 30s, 30.
02:29And then we dip down as that cooler air starts to surge on 25.
02:33So it's not freezing.
02:34And it's definitely not freezing overnight either.
02:36So lots of sunshine.
02:38We've got possible showers in the evening on Saturday.
02:40The day is dry.
02:41The wet days are likely to be Sunday and Monday.
02:44Then we've got cloud as we move into Tuesday and Wednesday with those cooler conditions.
02:48As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
