00:00Hello and welcome to this National James Weather Update for Friday.
00:05What do we have today? There is a trough that is now moving across New South Wales, very slowly out ahead of that.
00:10We're going to have a very exciting afternoon with showers and thunderstorms.
00:14That will continue moving northwards, mainly into South East Queensland as we go into Saturday.
00:18In the South East, there is a little bit of a cold outbreak coming in, mainly felt in Tasmania.
00:23Here's the speckled cloud that indicates that. That's right in the southern parts, not extending right up here like the last one did.
00:29Otherwise, we've got the start of moisture pouring in from the north-west.
00:33Let's see what that's going to do in the days ahead.
00:35So, let's have a look as we move through the day on Friday.
00:39Here we have our showers and thunderstorms, so they're anywhere ahead of a trough that is slowly moving through.
00:44Hit and miss activity. If you're under a thunderstorm, it could bring heavy falls and other severe weather.
00:49In the South East, here's our cold outbreak. The blue lines that are in through there doesn't bring much wet weather.
00:54All of this is just easy as the day goes on.
00:57Over in the south-west, we're starting to see the next system come through.
01:00High pressure that is in through here. Our heat surge is coming down in through there.
01:05Let's watch that in action.
01:07As we're going to Saturday, here is our surge of heat that is coming right on down.
01:10High pressure is now out over the Tasman Sea.
01:12Here's the showers and thunderstorms, coastal and just inland as you head further north.
01:17All of that slowly clearing eastwards as the day goes on, north-eastwards as the day goes on.
01:21So we've got showers and thunderstorms, high pressure, so a break.
01:25Then you've got this heat surge that is coming down and then the start of our next rain system.
01:30Let's watch that in action.
01:31As we go into Sunday, moisture pouring in here but also up in through here as well.
01:36So there's two sources of moisture with this one.
01:38Here's our surge of heat coming down.
01:40High pressure now way out over the eastern parts there.
01:43So there's just a little bit of activity on the coast for the east there.
01:46In terms of this, this is just getting going as we're moving through Sunday.
01:51So let's have a look at Monday.
01:53Pouring in, pouring in.
01:55We've got instability here shown by the blues.
01:57That's not a severe cold outbreak.
01:59There's nothing properly blue in there.
02:01There's definitely nothing purple but it is energy that is going to fuel this system.
02:06So moisture pouring in and in through there.
02:08Now we're starting to see that move down into the southeast.
02:11Let's watch what that's going to do as the days move on.
02:14The heat out ahead of it with that surge of heat there.
02:16So it's heat, then rain.
02:18Let's watch this slowly move through.
02:20Here we have Tuesday coming in down through here.
02:23We've got the energy of the system in behind it that's all driving it.
02:26So that is Tuesday.
02:27Having a look at Wednesday, moving on through.
02:30The next one's starting to build up in through here.
02:32So here we have Wednesday.
02:34Into Thursday, that clears out.
02:36Next one building.
02:38Into Friday, still building in through here.
02:40Into next Saturday, here we have the potential for more of it.
02:44Moving eastward.
02:45So we might get a bit of a one-two punch across the entirety of an entire week.
02:49And so it starts slowly and it comes in through there.
02:52Now you can always find these maps on Farm Online Weather.
02:55So you can check each update as it comes through and see what the new path of where that rain is going.
03:01As the time period for that gets closer, it should reduce in size because all of the different weather modelling will be saying something that's a bit more similar.
03:08So we have higher confidence in it.
03:10So keep up to date with what that is showing.
03:12At the moment, this is what it could add up to as it moves through.
03:15So we've got the first one and then the start of the second one coming in.
03:18Anything that is yellow here is 25 to 50 millimetres.
03:22So it's this usual thing here.
03:23But look, it's not going away very quickly as you head inland.
03:26So there is the potential for something slightly decent out of this one as it comes through.
03:30The south-west gets hit as well, but here is the main source of that moisture connection up into the tropics.
03:36As always, have two Farm Online weather for left.
