00:00Hello and welcome to your South Australian Jane's Weather update for Friday.

00:04We have got some left over low cloud that is over the southeast in through here,

00:08but this here is wispy high cloud ahead of the next weather system

00:12that is developing over very back to our west today,

00:15but that is going to be a big one that's going to impact South Australia.

00:18Now the trough that was moving through,

00:20the very last bit of that is now moving across Broken Hill,

00:22so we are done with that.

00:23No more wet weather from that one.

00:25That's mainly a northeastern New South Wales this afternoon type system

00:28now moving into Queensland.

00:30So we're clear from that one there.

00:32Today, nice and quiet.

00:33We've got high pressure here by the end of the day.

00:36As we move into Saturday, the next heat is starting to seep on down,

00:40high pressure out to the east.

00:41We've got that there and we're starting to see some rain building.

00:44Let's watch that in action.

00:46Here we have Saturday.

00:47Moving into Sunday, the heat is here.

00:49Here is the rain man starting to develop.

00:51Very coastal at this stage, very late on Sunday.

00:55Into Monday, developing to the west,

00:57coming down in through here.

00:59Again, quite coastal, really not moving inland.

01:02Let's have a look at Monday into Tuesday.

01:05Building, building, building.

01:06It is moisture that is pouring in from the Indian Ocean.

01:09Now, negative Indian Ocean dipole is still very, very strong,

01:14so it just pushes moisture in from the Indian Ocean.

01:17When that can meet up with low pressure,

01:19it delivers rain for those in its path.

01:21We're getting the low pressure.

01:22It's in our path, so it's coming through to us here.

01:25That is Tuesday.

01:26Let's have a look at Wednesday.

01:28Now, by the end of Wednesday, this is here,

01:30and the next high pressure system is building in through there.

01:33So that's the end of that rain system as it comes through.

01:36So there's Wednesday into Thursday.

01:38The high is now in through here.

01:39But what is this?

01:41It's the next one building.

01:42We've still got moisture pouring in,

01:44and the next low pressure system kicks off.

01:46So there's Thursday, the potential for Friday,

01:49and the potential for Saturday.

01:51So nearly almost a week to a week and a half away.

01:54This is very low confidence at this stage.

01:56I would come back to these maps on Farm Online Weather,

01:59have a look at the forecast map for you,

02:01and watch the path of this to see whether you're still in the zone

02:04for getting that rain.

02:05Okay, what might that add up to, not including next Saturday?

02:08So this here is all very coastal, just inland,

02:12and really peters off as you head in there.

02:14So 25 to 50 millimetres, 15 to 25, 10 to 15, 5 to 10.

02:19So a nice grading of that as it moves through.

02:21So we're looking at that being Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday as it comes in.

02:25Then the next one's starting to kick off Friday into Saturday next week.

02:30What might that add up to for Adelaide?

02:32So here we are.

02:32We're mild today.

02:33Temperatures jump up from Saturday.

02:35You saw that surge of heat coming down.

02:37So in the high 20s, 30 as we move through Saturday and Sunday.

02:40Now, there is a change in behind that, but it's not cold.

02:43Have a look at this here.

02:44Instead, it's humid.

02:46It's wet.

02:46It's got that rain with it.

02:48Our dewpoint temperature shows us how much moisture is in the air,

02:50and that's quite humid as we move through these parts here.

02:54So hardly anything on Sunday night.

02:56It starts to kick off on Monday, but Tuesday and Wednesday,

02:59that is when we're likely to see that.

03:01As the rain ends, the temperature really comes down.

03:04So we're 16, we're 17, and then starting to move back up again

03:08as we move into Friday.

03:09Now, this may be the start of that next one that comes through

03:12and hits us next Saturday.
