00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland James weather update for Monday.

00:04We have got storms that are off the coast during the morning.

00:06We're expecting a lot more in that southeast corner during the afternoon

00:09and hit and miss activity coming in from the west,

00:12although skies are fairly clear to start the day.

00:14Here is our cyclone that is going to pour moisture into whatever weather system is moving through,

00:19so we do have a fairly interesting week ahead.

00:22First of all, heatwave conditions.

00:24Anything that is yellow, orange or even red here is our current heatwave.

00:28We do have a flood warning that is just in through here for now.

00:31There is a cyclone up to here now and about to move through these parts over the next couple of days.

00:36What that will be for us is a source of moisture,

00:38as well as the great big Pacific Ocean that pushes all of that in.

00:42Okay, so let's have a look at day by day what to expect.

00:45Monday the 24th, I've got our heatwave conditions that are in through here.

00:48Now I'm just going to turn that off so you can see just how low down that is.

00:51I'm just going to turn that off for now.

00:53So there that goes, just to make it a little bit clearer.

00:56All right, so showers and thunderstorms that are running in through here thanks to a trough that is in there.

01:00The most activity today is in that southeast corner.

01:03Having a look at Tuesday, here we go.

01:05Much more widespread activity, but a little bit of a break if you're near the coast that's anywhere in through here.

01:10So more of an inland and rangers type thing.

01:13Heading to Wednesday, that really wraps up in the east in through there.

01:16On Thursday, it is there again.

01:18On Friday, it moves.

01:20It contracts northwards in through there, but it's for one day only.

01:23It comes back again as we go into Saturday and into Sunday and then into next Monday as well.

01:29So this could be adding up to quite a bit.

01:31You'll notice it is the eastern half that has it.

01:33The potential for some big falls in through here, but generally at least 20 millimetres across the majority.

01:38And if you're ever under a thunderstorm, then yes, it will bring a much heavier fall.

01:42We've got all of the moisture coming in from the Pacific and the remains of that cyclone as well.

01:47OK, so for Brisbane, the risk of showers and thunderstorms during the day today.

01:51First of all, our temperatures, they're all up around 30 into the low 30s.

01:55That spikes in through there during the day on Friday.

01:58You'll also notice the dew point, how much moisture is in the air, does lessen off a little bit.

02:02But otherwise, yes, it is incredibly humid.

02:05So showers and storms Monday, Wednesday, Thursday.

02:07Bit of a break there on Tuesday and a break again on Friday.

02:11Otherwise, it's pretty much every day that we do have that activity.
