00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian Jane's Redder update for Monday.
00:05We have fairly clear skies except in the southwest corner where we've got a little bit of a cooler surge coming up.
00:11In terms of showers, they're not adding up to very much.
00:13Here is our cyclone that is up in the north. Let's have a bit of a zoom in on the path of that one.
00:18So the white line tells us where it is up to. Here is where it is heading after this.
00:22So it won't be overly severe by the time it actually crosses the coast.
00:26But what we do know from this is it is a ball of moisture that will get left over.
00:31And whenever a weather system can tap into that and get that connection to that feed,
00:35it will have more wet weather than what we would normally see from that.
00:39But the positioning of this and all of our systems that are crossing the south means it is the east.
00:44They're likely to see that, not us here in the southwest.
00:47So let's look day by day what to expect. But first of all, here is our heat signal.
00:52We've got the yellow, the orange and the red. That is our heat wave conditions.
00:55You'll notice that they are certainly not in the southwest corner.
00:58Day by day, here is our cold air. So first of all, the purples and the reds, that's our heat.
01:04But the blues here are our cold air that comes up from the south.
01:06And we do have one of those that are passing us today.
01:09Now, in terms of wet weather, two to five millimetres as it comes through just for that southwest corner.
01:13Have a look at Monday. So sorry, now into Tuesday, we've got high pressure that is back over to our west.
01:18We've got that ridging out just a little bit. So the heat stays in the north.
01:21The cold air is over the bite in through here and we don't see very much at all.
01:26Have a look at Wednesday. There we go. We still have our ridge that is just coming in.
01:29So that southwest corner gets any of the wet weather. Lots of showers and thunderstorms up into the northeast.
01:35Thursday, very similar. Have a look at Friday.
01:38Now this is starting to actually come in and change its shape.
01:41As soon as it starts to heat in through here, then our weather changes in the southwest corner.
01:45Let's have a look there, ridging right up into South Australia.
01:49So that means we might start to get an easterly wind, which changes our weather.
01:53What it does is it increases our temperatures.
01:55So here is the heat that is coming down through there.
01:58We've got our trough that is running along the coast.
02:00So I'd expect temperatures to jump up from Sunday into Monday.
02:04There is a high that is out to the east.
02:05So yes, Monday is looking quite a warm day.
02:08In terms of what that's going to add up to, if you're up in through here and that bit that comes westwards, nice falls.
02:13If you're in the southwest corner, no, there isn't a lot at all.
02:17So for Perth, let's have a look at our temperatures.
02:1921, 23, 22, 24.
02:22That's what we're likely to see for the week.
02:24There is the briefest hint of wet weather that won't really add up to very much.
02:28You saw more of that was to the south.
02:30So here we are in our southwesterly winds and so conditions are fairly consistent from day to day.
02:35Across the weekend, 25 on Saturday, then 28 Sunday, then 30 on Monday.
02:39So that's when our heat comes back.
02:41Bright sunshine, not a cloud in the sky.
02:43We're going to start to see a bit of more of an easterly airflow.
02:46That's only if that southwesterly comes in during the afternoon that we get a bit of relief from that.
02:51As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
