00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04We've got heatwave conditions across much of the north and central parts into here.
00:08We've got clear skies for much of the time, but there's a little bit of activity happening in the southeast corner today.
00:13Here is the cyclone. It is likely to be passing by Darwin on Saturday night and then continuing here before making landfall properly later on in the period.
00:22Let's have a look day by day what to expect here.
00:24So here we have on Friday, we've got our risk of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon, mainly inland from the coast, the rangers and just into here.
00:32Otherwise, things are looking quite dry.
00:34Have a look at Saturday. We'll move that through there.
00:37It is the southeast corner that has the risk of showers and storms.
00:39There's our cyclone up through there into Sunday.
00:42Again, southeast corner that has the risk of showers and storms.
00:45There's a very slight potential for some weather elsewhere.
00:50Have a look at Monday. Again, the southeast corner.
00:52Tuesday, this is when we're starting to see some of the moisture remains, the leftovers from that cyclone, getting whipped up in some low pressure and moving through.
01:01So it's not just the southeast corner from Tuesday.
01:04Into Wednesday, potential for wet weather.
01:06Thursday, retreating slightly northwards into Friday.
01:09It should be quite clear over that southeast, but in through here, there is still a lot of moisture that is back to our west that can come through, which may happen next Saturday.
01:17Okay, adding all of that up, there is the potential for some good falls in through here.
01:22Not in the southwest, not really in central parts, but in the north, yes, and also in that southeast corner and into the coastline.
01:29So 25 to 50 millimetres.
01:31But again, if you're under a thunderstorm, then yes, that will bring a heavy fall.
01:34It's hit and miss activity.
01:36Let's have a look for Brisbane.
01:37In terms of temperatures, around the 30 degree mark.
01:40We pop up here on Monday, back down to 30, then we may see some quite hot conditions as we move into the later part of the week.
01:47Now, each and every day, there is the risk of a shower or thunderstorm.
01:50It is dry for much of the time.
01:52Then most likely next Wednesday.
01:55That's also when we get that heat building up to eight millimetres in through here.
01:58Our driest day looks to be next Friday at this stage 33.
02:02And also, let me just move my head, a slight reduction in the moisture that is in the air.
02:07But otherwise, our dew point is up in the low 20s.
02:09So yes, it is humid.
02:11We've got tropical instability.
02:12So we've got showers and thunderstorms every day with long, long dry breaks in between.
02:18As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the least.
