00:00Hello and welcome to this Victorian Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04We have got cloud that is across the southwestern half of the stage.
00:07We had some fog out there earlier.
00:09The cloud will build through these areas here during the afternoon.
00:12In terms of wet weather, here is a band of showers.
00:15It's across northwestern parts of Tasmania, just reaching the coastline now.
00:19That is going to spread through, but it really doesn't bring very much into the rain gauge.
00:23That's where we are today.
00:25Let's have a look at all of these totals in through here.
00:27Two to five millimetres, pretty much that's at best.
00:30Maybe five to ten on the alt ways in through there.
00:33It really doesn't extend anywhere north of the divide.
00:36So that is how we are looking for today.
00:38Let's move into the end of Friday.
00:39The high pressure system is here over Adelaide.
00:42By the end of Saturday, that high pressure system is to our north now.
00:45So we're starting to get a bit of a northwesterly flavour.
00:48There's going to be a fair bit of cloud that is still trapped over because the high has to go like that during the day.
00:53So it's a cloudy day, particularly for sun and parts of the state.
00:55There isn't much wet weather left over.
00:57It's some drizzle at best, mainly near the coast.
01:00That is Saturday.
01:00As we move into Sunday, now the high pressure system all the way out through here.
01:04So we're in northerly winds.
01:05There might be a little bit of wet weather on the ranges here and just on the slopes.
01:09Otherwise, it is bright sunshine.
01:11But the northerly wind does pick up.
01:13Temperatures also increase ahead of that one with our northwesterly winds.
01:17That are the next weather system.
01:18So by the end of Monday here, it is running down in through here.
01:22It's southwest of Melbourne by the end of Monday.
01:25So Monday is warm as just reaching those western parts of the state.
01:29Here's the rain to come with this one.
01:31So that's Monday and then into Tuesday.
01:34So it moves right on through later Monday into Tuesday.
01:37There is cold air to finish with this one, but is nothing significant for us.
01:411500 metres as the snow line at the end of this weather system.
01:45Up in the ranges, yes, 15 to 25 millimetres.
01:485 to 10 in through here.
01:502 to 5 anywhere that is in this blue sort of shading.
01:53So it's a system that comes through.
01:54It's nothing significant, but it should add up to a nice little drop of rain.
01:59That's Monday into Tuesday.
02:00As you go through to Wednesday, high pressure now out through here by the end of the day.
02:04So we start to see a northwesterly airflow.
02:06That will increase on Thursday.
02:08And look how tight those isobars are by the end of the day.
02:11So, yes, it'll be windy by then.
02:13We'll get some warm air coming down into the next weather system.
02:16Now, the trough front for that one is here by the end of Thursday.
02:19Let's watch that move through on Friday.
02:22So it's right up here at Port Macquarie.
02:23So all the way through by the end of Friday.
02:26So Friday is when the cold change comes in.
02:28Again, 1500 metres, 1200 metres.
02:30It's nothing really sharp in behind it, but we definitely will feel it.
02:355 to 10 millimetres.
02:365 to 10.
02:3710 to 15 as it comes through.
02:382 to 5 in through here.
02:40So our wet days are later Monday into Tuesday and then on Friday.
02:44What's that going to add up to?
02:45At the southwest coast, 15 to 25.
02:4725 to 50 along the rangers in through here.
02:5015 to 25 north of the divide.
02:535 to 10 millimetres across those two weather systems as it goes through.
02:57Because they're coming in from the west rather than a northerly thing this time,
03:00it's the western parts of Melbourne that see less than what the eastern side does.
03:04OK.
03:05Let's have a look at Melbourne in particular.
03:0717 is the top for Friday.
03:09There are showers passing through during the afternoon with that band that is on its way in.
03:13Tomorrow, there's a fair bit of cloud, so this is on Saturday.
03:16Cloudy skies, but it should be fairly dry underneath.
03:20Where 17, 18-ish temperatures jump up on Sunday.
03:23Lots of sunshine.
03:24Sunday is looking absolutely lovely as our winds turn norselly.
03:2824 is what it's likely to be now on Monday.
03:31We've got cloud building at the end of the day,
03:33but this doesn't reach us until very late in the evening.
03:37That next system hits in the early hours of Tuesday morning,
03:40and then we get showers again on Tuesday afternoon.
03:42So pre-dawn and then Tuesday afternoon is when the wet weather comes through,
03:46when temperatures drop a little.
03:48Four millimetres is what's likely around the city area.
03:51Into Wednesday, we're back to dry conditions.
03:53Temperatures rise again on Thursday,
03:54and then they fall during the day on Friday as that next weather system passes through.
03:59As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
