00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian James weather update for Thursday.

00:04We've got a little bit of cool air that is moving across the southwest corner in through there.

00:08Otherwise skies are clear, the remains of the cyclone staying well away from us.

00:13Now that it's no longer a cyclone, we've got the moisture to deal with

00:16and that is going to move across the eastern parts of the country, not through here.

00:20So let's have a look day by day, what to expect.

00:22On Thursday we're going to see a juicy northwest cloud band start to develop in through there.

00:26There's Thursday and there's Friday, so that is moving away from us.

00:30Meanwhile, just clipping the southwest corner into tomorrow, that's Friday,

00:34and then by Saturday all fairly clear.

00:36We've got this in through here by Saturday and then into Sunday.

00:40So we're going to see a bit of that activity coming through during the week next week.

00:44So let's now have a look.

00:45Our trough is down the coast here, so we have got the heat in the southwest

00:49as high pressure ridges across in through here.

00:52So there's Sunday, let's now have a look at Monday, and into Tuesday, there it goes,

00:58Wednesday and Thursday.

01:00So it's not really coming into that southwest corner, protected by high pressure,

01:04but we're certainly going to go on a bit of a temperature roller coaster.

01:07What is that likely to add up to?

01:09Big falls in the north, but not down in the southwest at all.

01:12As this comes down, showers and thunderstorms, so it's hit and miss activity.

01:16If you're directly under a storm, then you will get a heavy fall,

01:19but in the southwest, zero to one millimetres.

01:21So let's have a look at temperatures for Perth.

01:23We're in the low 20s.

01:25That is for Thursday and Friday.

01:27Lots of sunshine, increasing sunshine today for sunshine on Friday.

01:30Temperatures start to rise over the weekend, 27, then 33.

01:34The hot day is on Monday.

01:36That is when that trough is sitting there.

01:38The trough is then going to move through, so temperatures decrease.

01:40It's not as cold as the last one in behind it, and there's hardly any wet weather.

01:44That is mainly to the north or into the east.

01:47So the hot day in the outlook, it starts to warm up on Sunday,

01:51and the heat is there for Monday.
