00:00Hello and welcome to this National Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04We do have Cyclone Fiena. It's up here. It has taken a turn.
00:07It's gone back to a Category 1, likely to go back up to a Category 2
00:10and skate along the coastline over the next couple of days.
00:13Just passing Darwin there on Saturday night.
00:16Heatwave conditions are all through the NT, the northern parts of Western Australia
00:20and coming into Queensland too, so I've got a build-up of heat that's happening again.
00:24We've got cloud that is along the New South Wales coast here just into the ranges,
00:28then clear and then we've got another disturbance that is here,
00:30which is low-fresher troughs and some low-fresher centres that are producing a bit of rain.
00:35OK, let's focus on the Cyclone first of all.
00:37So here we are as a Category 1 on Friday morning.
00:40It decreased last night, likely to move into favourable conditions today
00:43and go back up to a Category 2.
00:45Existing as a Category 2, then possibly 3 once it moves well past Darwin.
00:50So the concern for Darwin is mainly on Saturday night.
00:52So during the day on Saturday, really ramping up, Saturday night and then it passes by.
00:57OK, we have got a complex weather pattern for the next week,
01:01so this may take a little while to go through.
01:03OK, so we've got this here, south-east Queensland, north-east New South Wales,
01:07down into the southern parts of the eastern parts of New South Wales there.
01:11Showers and thunderstorms, showers coming onto the coast as well under that sick cloud.
01:15Here is our area of wet weather that is in through here.
01:18This is going to slowly move eastwards while this one remains here
01:21and these two are going to combine together.
01:23Meanwhile, the Cyclone is up in the north there.
01:25We are looking fine for the Crickets on Friday.
01:28On Saturday, here we have that next weather system.
01:31I'll address that in a second.
01:32But here we have this one coming through South Australia,
01:34this one continuing in the east here and starting to meet in the middle on Saturday night.
01:39Meanwhile, the Cyclone is moving through.
01:41Into Sunday, that all passes through.
01:43So it goes across Melbourne.
01:44It continues in these eastern parts before they're moving away.
01:48But let's go back and have a look at this one here.
01:50So on Saturday, looking fairly dry in through here.
01:54Sunday, this system is moving across the south and then into Monday it comes on
01:58and there's a little bit more in behind there.
02:00Now, this will be cooler than what we've seen in the southwest for a little while.
02:04Meanwhile, that cyclone is doing its thing there.
02:06We've got all of this heat that is moving down into here.
02:08So that's the red and the purple lines are in through there indicating an area of heat.
02:13And we've got this still remaining on that coastline in the east there as we move through Monday.
02:18All right, let's go into Tuesday.
02:20There is the cyclone.
02:21It's still moving through.
02:23Here is the energy.
02:24Here is a lot of wet weather that is out ahead of that.
02:27What might that do?
02:28Here is one of the options.
02:29Here's Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and into next Friday and then into next Saturday.
02:37So there's a very complex area of low pressure that's going to be moving through.
02:41It's got the remains of that cyclone, so it could have some be wet weather with it.
02:45You've got energy that's down in the south.
02:47We've got cold air that comes back in through here.
02:50That's Wednesday into Thursday.
02:52And then there might be another one as we go through into the weekend as well.
02:55So cold air, energy, lots of moisture coming in from the north.
02:59That could produce a lot of wet weather across the country as we move through the later part of next week.
03:04OK, in the east, we're looking at 25 to 50 millimetres.
03:08Some areas are bigger.
03:09If you're directly underneath a thunderstorm, then yes, it will be a heavy fall.
03:12Here is our huge rainfalls that are coming in through here.
03:15Now, most of it is off the coast, but some of it does move inland.
03:18We've got this area here, this one that comes down into there, this one across the southwest.
03:23So there is quite a bit going on.
03:25As always, head to Farm Online weather for the next.
03:27We'll see you then.
