00:00Hello and welcome to this national Janesweather update for Thursday.
00:04Having a look at what we've got out there today, there is still moisture that is from
00:08Cyclone Fina that is up in the northwest there.
00:10So we've still got that to deal with.
00:12It's going to feed weather systems as they move across the south and also into Queensland.
00:16We've had a lot of activity in eastern parts of Queensland and that is set to continue.
00:21Meanwhile, this speckled cloud that is over the southeast, that is yet another cold outbreak.
00:26Okay, so let's have a look day by day.
00:28What to expect, first of all, we've got fire dangers that are in through here.
00:31We've got heatwave conditions all up in through these parts of Queensland.
00:34We do have a flood warning that is in through there, but no more of the cyclones.
00:38So day by day, starting with Thursday, we've got the cold outbreak moving across the southeast,
00:43just brushing Victoria here, less of an effect than what there was yesterday.
00:47Here is all the moisture from the remains of Cyclone Fina, so the leftovers there,
00:52that is going to feed the next weather system, which is starting to brew southwest of Perth.
00:56Meanwhile, showers and thunderstorms all in these parts of Queensland.
01:00So it is in the east, anywhere east of the trough line that runs in through here.
01:03Take a look at Friday.
01:05First of all, break for southeast Queensland.
01:07So there is one day there.
01:08It will be quite hot though.
01:09Here are the remains of Cyclone Fina.
01:11All of that moisture feeding right down into the south.
01:15So let's watch this move through.
01:16That is Friday and then this is Saturday.
01:19So this is moving across southeast South Australia, Victoria, southern parts of New South Wales and just getting Tasmania as well.
01:25So there's the next big rain system that comes through.
01:28Southeast Queensland did take a break, but no, it is back as we go into Saturday.
01:32So there's our showers and storms out ahead of that one.
01:35Into Sunday, starting to contract, moving northwards into Monday just for that coastal part there.
01:40Tuesday, nearly done.
01:42But the southeast is certainly not done.
01:44Let's go back and have a look at that.
01:45On Saturday, the next weather system starts to come up.
01:48That continues on Mondays, another cold outbreak, into Tuesday as well.
01:53So it's a three-day system as it moves through.
01:56After that, high pressure is going to come in.
01:58So we're back to clear conditions here in the eastern parts by the middle of next week.
02:03Meanwhile, all the action moves to the other side of the country.
02:06So that's for Wednesday and Thursday while things are nice and quiet in the east.
02:12What might that add up to?
02:13Quite a bit.
02:14So the remains of Cyclone Fina, the leftovers, look at this, moving right through here.
02:1850 to 75 millimetres, anything yellow, 25 to 50, most seeing 15 to 25.
02:23So that moves right across the southeast and southern parts of New South Wales.
02:27Showers and thunderstorms all in these parts of Queensland here.
02:30So it's east of a trough.
02:32If you're directly under a thunderstorm, it can bring severe weather, including heavy rain, as it does.
02:37And here's that rain band that kicks off during the day on Friday.
02:40As always, head to Farm Online Weather, the latest.
