00:00Hello and welcome to this South Australian Janesweather update for Monday.
00:04Here is our cyclone up to the north. All we care about that for the moment is that it can bring us a lot of moisture.
00:10So it's a feed of moisture that's going to last over the next one, two, maybe even three weeks.
00:14And whenever a weather system sweeps through and connects with that, then we'll get more rain than we usually would.
00:20Today, there is a trough that is running in through here.
00:23There are showers and thunderstorms very hit and miss out ahead of that one.
00:27Let's have a look at where our heat is currently.
00:29So all these yellows, oranges and reds, that's our heatwave conditions, right down into here, the northern parts of New South Wales.
00:35But the numbers I've got on this map, that's our dew point, how much moisture is in the air.
00:39Really wanted to point out just how much of that Queensland moisture is making it through New South Wales and right into South Australia as well.
00:47So we're up here, dew points around 15, 16.
00:50That's very humid for us, so the air feels a little bit different.
00:53And while we can get these showers and storms kicking off, the other bit is here.
00:57Let me just turn those observations off.
00:59We do have a fire weather warning for these districts in through here.
01:03OK, let's have a look at day by day what to expect.
01:05Here's Monday the 24th.
01:07On this map, I've got the red and purple lines showing where the heat is, so keep an eye on that one.
01:12We've also got the blue lines here showing where the cold air is, because we are not done with that.
01:17Here we have our showers and thunderstorms very hit and miss isolated activity today.
01:22That is Monday.
01:22Have a look at Tuesday.
01:24That activity continues up in the north.
01:26We've got our next little cold outbreak that is coming through here, so it's going to feel quite different by the end of tomorrow.
01:32So there is Tuesday into Wednesday.
01:34There we go.
01:34That sweeps past the cold air is just to our south and through there.
01:37And we look at Thursday.
01:39Here we have our next burst of moisture coming in from the north.
01:42Here's our next ball of energy.
01:44Do they meet up?
01:45Most certainly, yes, they do.
01:47That is on Friday.
01:48There is our connection, our juicy northwest cloud band.
01:51So that is a band of rain moving eastwards as the day goes on during the day on Friday.
01:56Have a look at Saturday.
01:58That's clearing out.
01:59We still have that moisture to the north, so keep an eye on that.
02:02We've still got our heat that is to the north as well.
02:04But we're more of a cold air feature, particularly in that southeast corner here, because we've got these systems that are coming up.
02:09So there's Saturday.
02:10Will we get more rain?
02:11Yes, we will.
02:12Here's another connection coming through on Sunday into Monday, and that brings with it some cold air as well.
02:18All right.
02:19So what might all of that add up to?
02:21In the north, we've got plenty of activity.
02:23In the southeast corner, 15 to 25, 10 to 15, 5 to 10, and 25 to 50 in there.
02:29But if you are anywhere in here and you're underneath a thunderstorm, directly underneath, then yes, that will bring a heavier fall.
02:36For Adelaide, what to expect?
02:37Here's our heat and then our cooler conditions as we go through Tuesday.
02:41Have a look at dew point, how much moisture is in the air.
02:44See, the 17, but then down to 13, and then 10.
02:47Back to sort of regular programming by the time we get to the end of Tuesday.
02:50This does not bring a lot of wet weather as it comes through.
02:53It's generally dry.
02:54Have a look at Wednesday, just 19, 20 on Thursday.
02:57So we've got our showers passing through.
03:00There might be a storm with that one too.
03:01And that continues into Thursday, 2, 3 millimetres across there.
03:06The next burst is on Friday.
03:07That is looking at rain at times, the risk of a thunderstorm.
03:10We're looking at about 7 millimetres as it comes through, down to 18, then 20, then 17.
03:16So our temperatures are on the low side.
03:17Today is the only day of heat that is in the outlook.
03:21But the wet weather increases again as we go through Monday.
03:24So our main wet weather, Wednesday and Thursday, you can know about it.
03:27Friday, that's when it's heavier.
03:28Next Monday is when it's heavier too.
03:30As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
