00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales James weather update for Monday.
00:05We have got a fair bit going on. There's some cloud in the southeast.
00:08We've got some showers and thunderstorms developing over in the west.
00:11They're going to spread through during the day.
00:13The cyclone is still up in the northwest and I want you to know that as long as that remains there
00:17and for the weeks and weeks that follow after that has actually crossed ashore or dissipated,
00:22that's going to be a ball of moisture that can feed our weather systems as they come through.
00:26So over the next week or two, we're looking at whenever a system comes in, it should bring more rain than usual.
00:32All right, so here we have today. Let's have a look where this is heading.
00:34In terms of the heatwave, first of all, I want to show you that here.
00:38So yellow and orange colours are in the northern parts of the state.
00:41So yes, we are seeing heatwave conditions unlikely to continue and come down further south as the days go on.
00:47There's fire danger in through here and there's a cyclone up in the northwest.
00:50OK, so for today, for Monday, here we have showers and thunderstorms, very hit and miss and not a lot of activity today.
00:57So things are looking fairly quiet, except if you're in that far northeast corner, showers and severe storms during the afternoon.
01:03OK, so there's Monday. Have a look at Tuesday. This activity increases in the northern half.
01:08Have a look at Wednesday. There's another system that comes in through here.
01:11We've got this that is here in the northeast quarter.
01:14Into Thursday, there it is contracted right into that northeast corner there.
01:19OK, heading into Friday, here's the next one coming in.
01:22Again, that moisture feed comes in and it picks it up and it moves it across.
01:27So there's Friday coming into the west, Saturday moving through and then into Sunday just in that northeast corner.
01:33Have a look at Monday. There might be another one that starts to come through as well.
01:37So this could add up to some decent falls, particularly if you're in that northeast area there.
01:42There is the potential for some nice falls across the south, not as much as what you can see in the southern parts of Victoria,
01:47but still 10 to 15 millimetres. And if you're around Sydney, there isn't much going on.
01:51So let's have a look here. First of all, temperatures 23, 29, 36.
01:56So we're in the upwards part of the roller coaster. The heat peaks on Wednesday.
02:00It continues into Thursday ahead of the cool change.
02:03There it is by the afternoon. So temperatures drop.
02:05So back down to 27 as we go through Friday.
02:08In terms of wet weather, there isn't a lot.
02:10The best day's chances are during the day on Wednesday.
02:13But we've got the heat is the main factor in through there.
02:16Then over the weekend, Saturday, 28 and then 24 for Sunday.
02:20As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
