00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales Jane's weather update for Monday.
00:04All of this speckled cloud in through here, that is a cold outbreak.
00:08Welcome to summer.
00:10All of the heat that we've had is going to be pushed away
00:12as this moves right through New South Wales during the day on Monday.
00:15So let's have a look.
00:16First of all, our warnings.
00:18We've still got extreme fire danger all in through these parts here.
00:21We've got gusty westerly winds.
00:23They're very, very dry and so it does increase the fire danger.
00:27There is a cold change that is working its way through.
00:28Let's have a look at that.
00:30So our blue lines, the blue and the light blue, that is cold air.
00:34And by the end of Monday, it is all the way up through here.
00:37So yes, that is snow on the Alps.
00:39Welcome to summer.
00:40All of this in through here is wet weather coming in.
00:42You'll notice most of it is on the western side of the ranges
00:45because it's coming through from the west and then it dries out on the eastern side.
00:48But we feel the coolness in the air.
00:50OK, so there's Monday.
00:52By Tuesday, that has pretty much moved away.
00:54This year is very early in the morning.
00:56So by Tuesday, we're in a clearing trend.
00:58High pressure on its way back in.
00:59As we move into Wednesday, that high pressure by the end of the day is just off the northeast coast.
01:04So there's hardly anything happening.
01:05This red line indicates the next burst of heat that is heading our way.
01:09Have a look at Thursday.
01:10There it is coming into New South Wales.
01:12So temperatures are increasing to finish off the week.
01:15The cool change is here by the end of Thursday night.
01:18So let's watch that one.
01:20As we go through Friday, this one brings hardly any wet weather with it.
01:23I wouldn't expect anything into the gate.
01:25And the trough is backing down through here.
01:27So we're really not seeing that push through New South Wales at all at the end of the week.
01:31Definitely not through Sydney.
01:33So there's the change by the end of the day.
01:34And that's on Friday.
01:36Have a look at Saturday.
01:36Here's our next cold outbreak coming across the southeast.
01:39We're not going to feel this one quite as strongly.
01:41And there's hardly any wet weather with it.
01:43So there's Saturday and then into Sunday, that's when we start to see some wet weather come back into those eastern parts, continuing into parts of Monday as well.
01:52In terms of last week versus this week, in terms of the severe storm outbreak, it could not be more different if you tried.
01:59It's a very different weather pattern.
02:01What is that going to add up to?
02:02Not a lot.
02:03So in the northeast, we're taking a bit of a break.
02:06Along the coastline here, it's not much at all.
02:08In the southern inland, the desert really doesn't add up to very much unless you're right on those ranges in through there.
02:13So for Sydney, having a look at our dew point, one by this afternoon, sitting on about three now.
02:18So the air feels very dry.
02:19It's a westerly wind.
02:21We're just 20 as we go through the day tomorrow.
02:23A chilly start, chilly start on Wednesday.
02:25But watch our temperatures jump up as the week goes on.
02:28We'll get humidity, come back into the air and then disappear later on Friday as that change tries to move through but doesn't quite make it.
02:35So across the weekend, we're at 33, 34 here and then 20 by Sunday.
02:40So that's when the next major change comes through, late Saturday into Sunday.
02:44And Sunday is when we see our next wet weather.
02:47Otherwise, it's fairly dry and we're in a warming trend at the end of the week.
02:51As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the last.
