00:00Hello and welcome to this Janesweather national update for Friday.
00:04We have a band of cloud that is running from the northwest to the southeast.
00:07You'll notice it is not connected to any tropical moisture.
00:10We've lost that connection, so I've lost the potential for significant rain.
00:14So this is hardly producing anything at all.
00:16There's a little bit of cold air that is over the bite there.
00:18That's going to do a bit of a slingshot up into the southeast later on Saturday.
00:23We'll get some wet weather returning to southeast Queensland, northwest New South Wales during Sunday.
00:27All right, let's have a look at day by day what to expect.
00:29But first of all, here's where the heat is, right down into the southeastern parts of New South Wales today.
00:34That will slowly contract northwards as we go across the weekend.
00:38But there is extreme fire danger through these parts here.
00:40Day by day, hardly any wet weather.
00:42Here we are on Friday.
00:44Here's our heat, the red lines and the purple lines working their way right down into the southeast.
00:49A mild change has moved across southern parts of Victoria through Tasmania and parts of South Australia.
00:54And that's going to very slowly move northwards over the next couple of days,
00:57particularly when it gets a bit of a push along by this cold air that is over the bite.
01:02So, hubby, any wet weather there today?
01:04Let's now have a look at Saturday.
01:06That's moving across the southeast.
01:07Here's the cold air with it.
01:09So that's snow down to lower levels in Tasmania.
01:11It just sort of glances as it moves across Victoria there.
01:15So you see a bit of wet weather pop up there, but it is on Sunday that we really see that increase.
01:19So that's in southeast Queensland and these parts of New South Wales.
01:23A tiny connection to tropical moisture, not a major one.
01:27So we're not expecting big things with this.
01:28Now, there is a trough.
01:30It is the right time of year.
01:31So if you are directly under a thunderstorm, then, yes, you'll get heavy falls and the potential for the severe weather that comes with them.
01:38The next outbreak is down in through here.
01:40Well down over the bite.
01:41Now we've got a ridge of high pressure that is across the south.
01:43So that's Sunday.
01:45Have a look at Monday.
01:46This is still going in through here.
01:47We've got the heat associated with that cooler air coming up.
01:50This next one is more likely to move across Tasmania because of our ridge of high pressure that is across the south.
01:56So into Tuesday, just a very weak change that moves across the south there.
02:00We're starting to see a bit of a dip down in the west, not over in the southwest, but inland parts here and down to the south coast while this here takes a break.
02:08Have a look at Wednesday.
02:09This is back in Queensland and northeast New South Wales.
02:12This one is working its way down through here.
02:14High pressure is sitting across the south.
02:16Into Thursday, that's moving through.
02:18We've got a trough that's running down in through here.
02:20So it's further inland.
02:22You've got showers and thunderstorms across southern Queensland and this vast majority of New South Wales as well.
02:27So there's Thursday.
02:29And then into Friday, we've got our high jelly beanie across the southeast.
02:32So a bit of that can dip down into northeastern parts of Victoria as well.
02:36Meanwhile, it continues over in the west, not really at that western coast.
02:40What might that add up to?
02:42In these parts of New South Wales, quite a bit.
02:44We've got these parts of Queensland, but again, no real connection to tropical moisture, so we're not expecting big falls with that.
02:51This one, dipping down into the south, and it runs out of oomph by the time it gets there as well.
02:55So there's nothing major unless you're right up in the top.
02:58As always, head to fall on low weather for the next.
