00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales and Jane's weather update for Monday.
00:04We've got a fair bit of cloud that is along the coast during the day today.
00:06There is some high cloud moving across the southeast.
00:09This here is the next cold outbreak, but it's not really making it any further north.
00:14In terms of cooler air, though, we will get to see that,
00:16particularly when we move over to Sydney shortly, so you'll see that in a sec.
00:20In terms of heatwave conditions today, they are in the northern parts here.
00:23Watch where they head after this one, over into the northwest and into the far west,
00:28so they're not coming back into the easter game.
00:30We're going to get a cool change that is moving through.
00:33I mean, look, day by day, here we have Monday.
00:35Here is the heat pattern, so you've got the red lines that are running down in through this.
00:38So the main heat, the purple, is up here in Queensland.
00:42Wet weather today is in that northeast corner.
00:44Now, most of that was overnight and it has cleared out,
00:47but we've got some cloud and lighter showers to follow during the day.
00:50So that's Monday. Let's have a look at Tuesday.
00:52Hardly anything happening in the east there.
00:54Into Wednesday, we're going to see a trough line kick off in through here.
00:59So we've got showers and thunderstorms anywhere to the northeast of that line
01:03and in the southeastern parts too.
01:05So that's Wednesday.
01:06Having a look at Thursday, that really increases.
01:08It comes right down into Sydney.
01:10There could be some good falls during the day there, 25 to 50 millimetres.
01:14So this is showers, thunderstorms, tending to areas of widespread rain.
01:18So there's Wednesday.
01:19Here we have Thursday.
01:20And here we have Friday, just moving around the corner into northeastern parts of Victoria there.
01:25So it is mainly an eastern system.
01:27We've got all of the moisture pouring in from the Pacific,
01:30meeting up with low pressure that is in through here,
01:32and that creates our wet weather.
01:34Then it's Friday, moving into Saturday.
01:36That does move further westwards as we go into Saturday,
01:39and then it contracts eastwards across the weekend.
01:41So here we have by Monday, hardly anything left.
01:45That's going to add up to a fair bit,
01:46particularly these darker yellow areas here, 50 to 75 millimetres,
01:5125 to 50 in the yellow areas.
01:53You'll notice there's hardly anything over in the west.
01:55That's where the heat was.
01:57As soon as this wet weather arrives in the east, it does cool down.
02:00So let's watch that in action.
02:01We've got light rain at times left over for Sydney today,
02:04so hardly anything 0.3 of a millimetre.
02:07Temperatures jump up tomorrow, 31 in the sunshine.
02:09But look at the rest of the week.
02:11It is down in the low 20s.
02:13So there's just one more day of heat to go in through here,
02:15and then it is gone.
02:17We're looking at that early and late on Wednesday,
02:19but all day on Thursday and all day on Friday,
02:22and then early and late again as we go through Saturday.
02:25Conditions warming up as we move across the weekend,
02:27and then cooling down again early next week.
02:29As always, head to File Online Weather for the latest.
