00:00Hello and welcome to this Jane's Weather Update. This is for Victoria, updated on Wednesday.
00:05We have a band of cloud coming in from the northwest that's got some showers, some rain
00:09developing in it, some juicy moisture from the Indian Ocean. We need that to run into low pressure
00:14in order to make it rain and the southeast is missing out on that high pressure in through here
00:18which is acting like a block. So a cold front coming through today only delivers a little bit
00:23then the high is going to move on in. So let's have a look at that in action. We're seeing
00:27a few millimeters south of the divide, a little bit more on the ranges and hardly anything into
00:32the gauge in the north. All of this shower activity will clear out to the east and instead high
00:37pressure will come on in and bring us some cold nights and chilly days as it goes through. So by
00:42the end of Thursday we've got high pressure that is now sitting in through here. There will have
00:46been cloud across the south, sunshine in the north, but the wet weather is over as we move through
00:51Thursday. There's the rain that is brewing in the interior. Let's have a look at Friday.
00:54That really picks up over Queensland and northern New South Wales, but high pressure is here. So
01:00Victoria misses out on that. That's what we have for Friday. Moving into Saturday, the high is now
01:05just here, just east of Tasmania. Some big falls coming to Queensland, but not for us here.
01:11Just brushing the northwest as the very edge of that comes down. So that's for Saturday. Moving into
01:16Sunday, high pressure now well out to our east. So temperatures rise during the afternoon and that
01:21will continue into Monday as well, a very warm afternoon. Here's the next weather system
01:26approaching. Cold front here by the end of Monday. So that is going to move across the southeast.
01:31It does have a little feed of tropical moisture, so this one can deliver a little bit as it comes
01:36through. Let's watch that as we go through Tuesday. That moves across the western parts of Victoria
01:41and then into Wednesday, moving across the central and eastern parts. And then just a little bit of that
01:46left on Thursday as high pressure comes in while the next one builds to the west. So in total across
01:52the next week, the big falls are in Queensland and about that coastal area. Over in the southwest as
01:57well, they're getting the cold fronts moving in and having them hit in the southwest. In the southeast,
02:02most of our wet weather is next Tuesday and Wednesday. It's generally 5 to 10 millimeters in the
02:07southwest. 10 to 15, you can see it there. 5 to 10 in through here and less than 5 anywhere in that
02:12light blue colour. So that's what we've got to look forward to over the next week. Let's have a look
02:17at Melbourne in particular. We'll have a look at the graph, the table here, first of all, at Farm
02:21Online. We've got the possible showers on Wednesday, so they're moving through. Watch our overnight lows
02:26and how chilly it is. That's in the city. It's much colder away from there, particularly in regional
02:32areas. But the cloud is clearing and the temperatures in the afternoon are starting to rise
02:3618 and 19 by Sunday and Monday. The next wet weather arrives on Tuesday. So let's have a look
02:42at that. Light rain at times developing. So it's likely to be dry all through the day
02:46and that wet weather hits later on. As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
