00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian James weather update for Monday.
00:04Skies are fairly clear. We do have this crossing the southern parts of the coast today.
00:09In terms of heatwave, it is all in the north there.
00:12Watching over the next couple of days, it is going to come slightly further southwards
00:15but not right into the southwest until the end of the week.
00:19So day by day, here we have Monday, here are our heat conditions coming down through to here.
00:24Here's a little bit of wet weather just crossing that southern coastline.
00:27Have a look at Tuesday, there it goes in through there, a trough.
00:30We've got showers and thunderstorms that make their way through the inland there.
00:34Into Wednesday, here is our heat moving further towards the southwest.
00:38Into Thursday, there it is, our trough that's running in through there.
00:42Have a look at Friday, that makes it all the way over to the coastline.
00:45The trough is right on the coast.
00:47Into Saturday, there it is running right through there so there's no relief from the heat.
00:51Into Sunday, we're starting to see a little bit of wet weather come down through here
00:54but it's not likely to reach right into the southwest corner.
00:57Instead, the situation is all about the heat.
01:00That continues into next Monday before the change actually moves through.
01:04So, what is that adding up to?
01:06If you're in the southwest, hardly anything at all, as you'd expect at this time of year.
01:09Most of the wet weather is in the north and this one may be our next cyclone
01:13that forms in about a week's time, so the early part of next week.
01:17Have a look at Perth.
01:18Here we are in the high 20s today.
01:20There, same thing for Tuesday.
01:22Temperatures jump up on Wednesday.
01:23They come back down to the low 30s on Thursday and then increase again as they go into Friday.
01:29So, temperatures increasing as the week goes on apart from Thursday.
01:32Over the weekend, that is when the heat is really with us and our overnight temperatures feel that as well.
01:38It continues into next Monday near 40 degrees and then that's when the cool change comes through at the end of Monday.
01:45So, nice conditions now, heating up at the end of the week.
01:48Hot across the weekend, lasting into next Monday and hardly any wet weather at all through that period.
