AccuWeather's Bernie Rayno breaks down the areas that could get snow in the Midwest and Northeast this weekend.
Transcript
00:00The first accumulating snow of the season is on the way for the N95 corridor from Philadelphia,
00:06New York City, to Boston. Now, it all begins with the coldest air mass of the season. That's a big
00:12statement given how cold it's been. But that Arctic air sweeps southward across the north
00:18central United States Friday night through the Midwest on Saturday and then toward the east
00:23coast on Sunday. Now, along that Arctic air, we think a storm is going to form. It is going to
00:28be a fast moving storm and it will be moisture starved. So we're not looking at huge amounts
00:33of snow, but it's going to be a disruptive storm first across the Midwest Saturday, then
00:38Saturday night in the Sunday across parts of the northeast. A large area of at least one
00:44to three inches of snow, including Philadelphia, New York City and Boston. The ground will be
00:51cold enough that the snow will accumulate quickly. Roads are going to be very slippery. Look for
00:56that snow again across the Midwest Saturday and then into the northeast Saturday night in
01:02the Sunday. And boy, is Sunday going to be cold.
