00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04All of the action at the moment is in the southeast of the country with a strong cold front moving through, bringing a cold outbreak.
00:11Whereas we're now back to clear skies after the showers and storms yesterday afternoon, those clear skies extend across much of the country.
00:18The focus for the weekend will definitely be in the southeast, but then we'll see some activity from that as we go into next week.
00:25So let's take a look day by day. On Friday, the cold front's through to here by the end of the day.
00:29We're looking very pretty, just a little bit of activity left for the coast there. There's not much for us.
00:34As we go into Saturday, all skies are clear. It is lovely. All the action is to our south with a second burst of colder air coming up too.
00:42We're going to feel that colder air moving up in through here, particularly as we go into the early part of next week.
00:47And from this cold pool that is coming up, watch where it goes.
00:50Western Victoria, southeast South Australia, western parts of New South Wales, and then here we start to see it on Monday.
00:57So that's when our weather changes during the day on Monday.
01:01Just coming into the south here, we're starting to see a bit of a trough developing.
01:04Let's have a look at Tuesday, and here it is.
01:07A lot of the activity is coastal and east through to the ranges at the moment in New South Wales, but starting to extend into Queensland.
01:14And there'll be some colder air with this one as well.
01:16OK, so there's Tuesday. Let's start going to Wednesday.
01:20That's when it really increases in through here, 25 to 50 millimetres all through these parts, 15 to 25, and then extending inland, well inland as well.
01:29Heading into Thursday, here's more of that, mainly a southeastern focus.
01:33Nothing happening further inland or further west, just that little bit that's left over in through there.
01:38And then on Friday, that starts to move away.
01:40So it is Wednesday and Thursday next week that are the big days, particularly for the southeastern parts of Queensland.
01:47All right, let's have a look at what that looks like in terms of totals.
01:50Here we are, 25 to 50 millimetres.
01:53It showers, it's thunderstorms, so it is hit and miss, but that's the general range across the area.
01:58There may be some bigger falls that come in through that.
02:00And of course, in any thunderstorm, you can get a bigger fall if you are directly underneath where that moves.
02:05Across the other side of the country, we've got some nice falls coming in, and this is what it's looking like as it moves across the southeast.
02:11That's for the weekend, then they dry out early next week.
02:14OK, let's have a look at Brisbane.
02:16Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
02:19We've got our warmest temperatures due on Saturday, and then overnight temperatures really back off as we go into next week as that cold air penetrates right up into southern Queensland.
02:29But lovely conditions across the weekend there.
02:32It changes on Tuesday.
02:33Cloud builds during the day, we might get a millimetre later on.
02:37But it is Wednesday and Thursday that we see the most of this wet weather in through here.
02:41Showers likely, so lots of them streaming through, tending to rain at times in the later part of the day.
02:46So that's more steady precipitation as it comes in.
02:49Then lots of showers likely again as we move into Thursday.
02:5215 millimetres for both of those days across the weather models, and then just two millimetres by the time we get to next Friday.
02:59So we're all good for the weekend.
03:00Conditions start to chill off overnight, and then the wet weather really ramps up Wednesday and Thursday next week.
03:07As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
