00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australia Jane's Weather Update for Friday.
00:04The cold outbreak is nearly over.
00:06Now it is moving into the southeast.
00:08All of this cold, speckled cloud over the bite, we're just on the edge of that
00:12and high pressure is on its way in.
00:14So the southeast, they're really feeling it.
00:16It's going to be the biting winds all the way up to southeast Queensland
00:19and we are now in the clear.
00:21So let's have a look at this.
00:22High pressure by the end of Friday.
00:24It is sitting here.
00:25That's where the center of it is.
00:27So yeah, we're still cool out to the east of that.
00:29It will start to warm up on the other side of that high.
00:32There's hardly any wet weather left over for us.
00:34As we go into Saturday, the high is now over here.
00:37So we're on the warm side of that high pressure system.
00:39We've got the easterly winds coming in.
00:41Into Sunday, high is now here.
00:43We're in easterly winds.
00:44There's just a very weak disturbance that clips the southwest corner there.
00:48Into Monday, similar sort of thing here.
00:51Into Tuesday, similar sort of thing.
00:53High pressure is the dominant feature in here.
00:55We're starting to see a trough develop.
00:57So as we go into Wednesday, that's when the next one comes in.
01:01Look at this.
01:01It isn't very strong.
01:02The isobars aren't that close together and there isn't a lot of wet weather with this
01:06one at this stage.
01:07So that's Wednesday into Thursday next week where that one goes.
01:11Then the next high pressure system is on its way in, but doesn't quite make it there
01:15by Friday when we might see a pickup in that wet weather.
01:18OK, so in terms of totals, all of this here is not now.
01:22It is from later on next week.
01:24Totals 10 to 15 millimetres.
01:26That's a bit of a reduction in what we've seen over the past couple of weeks, even just
01:305 to 10 in through there.
01:31So no big falls at this date, potentially something about a week away.
01:36What does this mean for Perth?
01:37We've got a string of sunny days.
01:40Cold starts about 20 during the afternoon.
01:43We've got winds that are mainly easterly and then they turn southwester.
01:46Yes, we get that afternoon.
01:47Seabreeze come in.
01:48So cold nights, lovely sunny days.
01:50That changes middle of next week.
01:53Temperatures take a little bit of a dive, but not the absolutely bitter one that we saw
01:57at the start of this week.
01:58Nothing like that as a repeat.
02:00And now we're in September anyway.
02:02So it's also not adding up to a lot too.
02:04Two and then five millimetres next Friday.
