00:142025 this is on December 4th into the 5th and it's called the cold moon because of the arrival
00:18of arctic air it's common in December in North America the moon will appear bigger and brighter
00:23plus it's the last supermoon until next December then the Geminid meteor shower steals the spotlight
00:29on December 13th to 14th from a dark spot you could see over a hundred meteors per hour the
00:35best viewing after 10 p.m. before the moon rises on December 21st the winter solstice arrives winter
00:42begins in the northern hemisphere while summer begins in the southern hemisphere it's also the
00:46shortest day and longest night of the year so at that point we've made it it only gets better from
00:52there to wrap up the month the ursid meteor shower is on December 21st into the 22nd it's smaller
00:58than the Geminids but still magical under those long winter nights so mark your calendar bundle up
