00:00Hello and welcome to this National Janesweather Update on Friday.
00:04The big weather system that affected southeast Queensland and northeastern parts of New South Wales is now moving away.
00:10All we have left on Friday morning is this activity along the coast and there's nothing heavy left in it.
00:15In the southeast we've got a cold front that is now moving through, so we've had days and days of frosty starts and then sunny days.
00:22That is now over because we've got this cloud band that has moved in.
00:24This isn't going to produce a lot of wet weather as it is just sliding down this cold front and then the one that is in behind it.
00:31Not much for the southeast.
00:32Meanwhile, there is still moisture that is coming in from the Indian Ocean, so let's have a look at that.
00:37Here is what is left during the day on Friday.
00:40Very coastal, most of the heavy falls are offshore, so there's hardly anything left in that now.
00:45In the southeast you can see that those fronts just slide on down, so there really isn't much for the mainland here.
00:51It's really the northwestern parts of Tasmania, but it's not huge falls.
00:55In the northwest, that is still coming in.
00:57High pressure is now here by the end of Friday.
01:00Let's watch where that is by the end of Saturday here over the southeast, so that's another clearing trend for the southeast, just what is left over from that second front coming in.
01:08You'll notice the next system here is offshore.
01:11I'll just move in here, so there's the low pressure system offshore, so we don't see any of those heavy falls on the New South Wales coast or definitely inland anymore from that.
01:19So we'll get some cloud from it, but the wet weather is pretty much done.
01:22Over in the northwest, though, we've got all of this moisture that is coming in.
01:25High pressure down through here, a low that is off the southwest.
01:29That's on Saturday.
01:30Let's have a look on Sunday.
01:31That's when things really start to increase in the west there.
01:35Feet of tropical moisture from the Indian Ocean.
01:37Big low pressure that it's moving through.
01:39So that's got some decent falls in it as it comes through on Sunday.
01:42High pressure over the southeast, so things are looking quite dry.
01:45Just a coastal activity on the east coast there.
01:48All right, heading into Monday.
01:50Here is our feed of tropical moisture still going in the west in through here.
01:54Here's the deep low over the bite there that is driving this weather system.
01:59It is heading to the southeast.
02:01High pressure is now here, so a lovely day on the east coast there.
02:04Let's watch where that moves.
02:06So here we have Tuesday.
02:08It begins in the southeast.
02:09This is when our fortunes change.
02:11No longer sliding across the southeast.
02:14We're going to be actually hit by it as it moves through.
02:16So here's Tuesday.
02:18Here's Wednesday.
02:19Here's Thursday.
02:20Here's next Friday.
02:21So things dramatically change from Tuesday next week,
02:25and there should be at least four days of wet weather moving across the southeast.
02:29In terms of totals, this is just what's left over here in the southeast
02:33as that system moves through Tuesday through to Friday.
02:36It could be 25 to 50 millimeters now about that southwest there.
02:39Big falls up on the ranges.
02:41Even inland, we're getting 5 to 10.
02:43In through here and even in the Riverina, 10 to 15 millimeters.
02:47If we're heading into South Australia, it's looking pretty good.
02:49It does decrease as you head inland, though.
02:51And, of course, more for Western Australia
02:53and where that moisture pours in from the Indian Ocean there, too.
