00:01Andrew Barry, the press conference, after the Browns have traded away Myles Garrett.
00:05Did you see the statement that Andrew Barry wrote?
00:08Uh, yes I did.
00:10I've seen presidential obituaries that were shorter.
00:13That was long, man.
00:15That was, that was certainly long.
00:17Then Myles Garrett, boy, they were having, it was the power of the pen between those
00:21two, man.
00:22Damn, Sam, they paragraph off.
00:24They wrote the hell out of each other, man.
00:26Wait, the power of the chat GPT pen?
00:28Because I saw speculation on that yesterday coming from Myles.
00:34Which, Myles seems totally capable of writing his own statement.
00:38I gotta tell you, I bet Myles had something in the works last year.
00:41And he might have just had a save document.
00:43Oh, you mean kind of the same way that we think Varden and Jason Lloyd had their obituary
00:49written after the Raptors series and then just had to have it on ice?
00:53There's been some, uh, there's been some wild ones that are still in the save, in the save
00:57folder for those guys.
00:59For Jason, especially, holy potato salad.
01:02Some of them that are there, he's told me they're wild.
01:05Uh, but yeah, Andrew Barry at 10 a.m.
01:07Um, we'll hear from him.
01:08He'll say a lot of words, uh, none of which you'll really believe after all this stuff.
01:12I mean, but then, you know, that's part of the game.
01:14Um, you know, Denzel Ward's future has been brought up.
01:16We'll bring that up with Tom Pellicero, uh, coming up at eight 20.
01:19We know that, uh, many media outlets have reported that it's a hard, no quote unquote
01:24about trading Denzel Ward.
01:25But I mean, after Miles Garrett, I mean, anything's on the table.
01:28So it seems that at, at, at some point, probably by November that, um, any reasonable offer,
01:35depending on what they are, will be certainly considered, uh, 2-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
01:40I, I've had, have several people, and I want to get the phones here in a second, but I
01:43have had several people go, well, what if Jim Schwartz was here?
01:47If a team like the Rams that definitely have the machinations of a Super Bowl in a city like
01:52Los Angeles, where he seems to, I'm sure he'll have a good time.
01:56Um, but if a team like the Rams came in knocking, I don't think that Jim Schwartz being here would
02:01have made a damn bit of difference whatsoever.
02:03I didn't think about that at all because obviously that was part of the case I was making that I
02:09could see the likelihood that Miles Garrett wanted out was he was lobbying for Schwartz
02:15and then Schwartz doesn't get hired.
02:17And then we never see Miles again, except at a, at a Cavs game.
02:21So yeah, we never saw him again, but what would it have been?
02:24Because remember he had the no trade clause, so he still could dictate.
02:29Now it's hard to believe he wouldn't want to go to a team like the Rams who are almost
02:33assuredly going to be in the final four, you know, going to be in the NFC championship game
02:37at the very least and now on national television almost every other week.
02:40That's what I'm saying is that you have a team that is definitely going for the gusto.
02:43I know the Ty Simpson draft didn't say that they were, but they're absolutely going for
02:47it.
02:47When you go out and you get Trent McDuffie, you go and you get him now, but you're, you're
02:51aiming for him.
02:52And if you're listening to it and your agent comes to you with it and says something like
02:55that, you can be as good of friends with Jim Schwartz as you want, but this is an opportunity
02:59to go out and still get paid and still win.
03:01So I, I, I don't believe that he would have made a difference because I think he would
03:05have looked at, I mean, you know, miles, he's a businessman in so many ways.
03:08And you look at it and go, who's your quarterback still?
03:10I mean, I like Jim Schwartz as much as the next guy, but he'd, he'd probably sit there and
03:13go, who is your quarterback?
03:15So you're probably not going to win much more than what Kevin did.
03:18And I, it's just another year of my career where now he can go out and he can truly get
03:22it all.
03:23I think that the, I think that this was the more I think about it, the more I think that
03:28these
03:28wheels were set in motion at the end of the season, after he completed the, uh, after
03:33he completed the record, it's, I, we're not going to go to the playoffs anytime soon.
03:38I'm only going to be getting older.
03:40I've set a record now here.
03:41There's nothing more I can do with this football team.
03:45I've, you've paid me all the money you can possibly pay me.
03:47We've been to the playoffs a couple of times, but we're not going to go again anytime in
03:52the very near future.
03:53At least that's probably what miles believes.
03:55Cause that's why he signed onto it and away he went.
03:57And I think that it could have been Jim Schwartz, his head coach.
04:01It could have been his whole high school head coach for all we know could have been, uh,
04:04could have been any, it could have been anybody from his history.
04:07And I don't think that that would have mattered to miles Garrett.
04:10I think that this was one of the situations where only good teams were going to come to
04:14call a good team.
04:16Like the Rams came to call.
04:17It was probably way earlier than any of us thought we'll ask Tom Pellicero about that.
04:21And, uh, there was just me where I just refused to hear anything about it.
04:24Cause I didn't want to hear anything about it.
04:26Cause it's just, it's more waiting around.
04:28That's all it is to me.
04:29It's more waiting around for us to be competitive again.
04:32Do you think miles ever went to the Browns and said, I'd like to be traded again after
04:37last year?
04:37Um, I'm sure that there's been a conversation.
04:41Yeah.
04:42Why would that shit?
04:43Well, I only ask that because like, based on what I heard in the afternoon show, that
04:47this was a disaster, this was terrible that they, that they would ever do this.
04:51Like, would you change your mind?
04:54If you knew that miles had this, this time very politely behind the scenes, as opposed
05:00to what happened a year ago, where it was specific.
05:02So there seemed to be some oddly specific places that he probably would want.
05:06I mean, if they, if they really wanted to like, there would definitely be a team out there
05:10that I think would give up even more than what the Rams did to go get miles scared, but
05:14he's got to agree to it.
05:15So I think it was probably done very quietly going, Hey, as long as we keep this all quiet
05:19here, we can move about our business.
05:21He had a no trade clause.
05:23Yes.
05:23So he wasn't going to sit there and go with any of these other teams.
05:27So you're not going to put them out there and go, okay, miles is open for business.
05:31No.
05:32Cause he's not going to, not going to play for the rate or the Raiders.
05:34Okay.
05:35He's not gonna play for the Cardinals.
05:36He's not gonna play for the dolphins, not gonna play for any of those teams.
05:38He'll say, no, he was going to play for a contender.
05:41And this is a contender that was in an area that I, I imagine he likes.
05:46That's why he said yes to it.
05:47And that's obviously a contender that can contend for a Superbowl this year and gives him now
05:51the full bounty of everything that, that has a possibility of an NFL career.
05:56Now he can do the Reggie white thing, possibly win a championship here.
05:59It's not as old as Reggie white was.
06:01I don't think, but I'd have to go back and look.
06:02I don't remember.
06:03I was a child when that happened.
06:04Uh, he can do the Reggie white thing.
06:06He could compete for a championship.
06:08Um, I got a whole, I got a wish against him because I don't want to have that late of
06:12a pick.
06:12I got to look out for what's best for the Cleveland Browns with he's, he's helped do what's
06:16best for the Cleveland Browns, but I'm sorry, this is business.
06:18And so I have to root against the Rams.
06:20Yeah.
06:20You're going to sit there in the playoffs and root against them.
06:23Um, if he gets to the Superbowl, depending on who he's playing, like if it's the Steelers
06:28and the Rams, I'm going to be rooting for the Rams.
06:30Yeah.
06:30I'll be rooting for the Rams against the Ravens.
06:32I'll probably be rooting for the Rams against a lot of teams because at that point, 31 and
06:3532, I don't know if it matters, but if we're just in the, if they get like, if they struggle
06:39a little bit, have some injuries, you'll might, uh, Matt, Matt's back locks up a little bit
06:45like, okay, maybe I get picked 24.
06:48Yeah.
06:48Things change that round.
06:49Maybe I'll, maybe I'll root against them, but if they get to a Superbowl on God, I I've
06:54enjoyed great play with miles Garrett.
06:55I'm not going to sit there and root against the Rams.
06:57What's interesting is the only thing holding anybody from ever saying that he's the best
07:03to ever do it is because he's done nothing in the playoffs, not, and he's only been in
07:07three games.
07:07I think he's got one registered sack.
07:10Like we just haven't, we haven't gotten that opportunity.
07:13And now, like I said, he's going to be on national television every week.
07:16And then once the playoffs start, what I'm wondering is if Browns fans, if you ever want
07:20to tell your grandkids, like we saw the best ever do it.
07:23But if he goes crazy in the playoffs and then starts putting up dominant numbers, I thought
07:30it was funny yesterday.
07:30People were noting that verse has much better playoff numbers than miles Garrett.
07:35Well, he's had the opportunities, right?
07:36Like he's had more of the opportunities.
07:38They put, they actually play with leads over there.
07:41Um, I just wonder if any fans are going to be like, yes, that is now validated.
07:46I've been telling people forever.
07:47He's the best ever do it.
07:48And now we actually will get a chance to see that in the playoffs, but how bittersweet it's
07:52going to be for another team?
07:53The best to ever do it.
07:54You know, that's obviously that's still up there.
07:56I, I, I, I think that I would put them up there with Bruce Smith, uh, with Reggie White,
08:02with those guys, but maybe he's still off that map to a lot of people across the country.
08:06Can you imagine what did he do the last like five weeks of the season last year?
08:09Didn't he put up like a whole season in like five weeks?
08:12Can you imagine if he does that in the postseason?
08:14Can you imagine if like, it's the, it's the, um, yeah, the, the NFC championship game
08:21and he puts up five sacks and then he comes back and done, and you can't, you can't rule
08:24it out, right?
08:25You can't rule him out doing that in the Superbowl.
08:28And then in the Superbowl, he has two strip sacks recoveries, maybe runs one for a, for
08:34a, for an actual touchdown.
08:36And he's MVP of the Superbowl.
08:38Can you imagine how we're talking about Miles Garrett compared to how we've talked about
08:41him?
08:41It would suck.
08:42I, but I, cause the, I got a root for a root against him.
08:45Now, if he goes and he wins a Superbowl, he becomes Saquon Barkley.
08:48Cause he's early enough in his career.
08:50Like if they went at this year, I imagine he would be with the Rams for the next five
08:53to six seasons.
08:55And I mean, again, Saquon Barkley, if he goes to the hall of fame, he's going in as an eagle.
08:59Miles Garrett will be going into the hall of fame.
09:01And if Miles Garrett wins a Superbowl with the Rams, I think it's a Rams party at one
09:07of the country clubs down in Canton.
09:09I don't think it's a, I don't think it's a Browns party.
09:11I think the Rams pick up the tab.
09:13I think he goes in as a Ram and that's going to be tough to deal with.
09:16That's going to be real tough to deal with.
09:18That's why, again, today is not, I disagree with you.
09:20I don't mean to bicker with you.
09:22Today is not a positive day for me.
09:24It's just a day to hopefully get to a positive day.
09:26And the positive day is we have that quarterback and I ain't got to worry about any of that
09:31other crap.
09:31I just got to worry about whether or not he's going to play well on Sunday in January,
09:37whether or not, like, I'd love to have the, if we end up with the next Josh Allen, fine,
09:41I'll deal with it.
09:42We ended up with the next Lamar Jackson.
09:44Fine.
09:44I'll deal with it.
09:45Like having conversations about whether or not that, that, that guy can get over in
09:49the playoffs.
09:49Fine.
09:50Cause this today or yesterday was an admission of what they think of their quarterback room
09:54to me and where they think they need to go.
09:56And I think a lot of people can accept that.
09:58And so they need to go take the next step and find that guy.
10:01Dante Moore.
10:02I hope that he would come here.
10:04I hope that Archmanny would come here.
10:06If Lenora Sellers has a bounce back year, please.
10:09Like, I want the options there.
10:11I want all these guys to play well this coming year.
10:13Cause this is what this is for now.
10:14And you cannot deny that unless somebody completely surprised you, which one is more likely to
10:20happen.
10:21It's see at the draft in April.
