00:00I really hope they don't open up the season with the Jags.
00:04Because I mentioned twice, and you mentioned it, and everybody agreed,
00:08and Keith didn't even correct me on it.
00:10I thought they were playing Orlando next year, or this year.
00:12They're playing Orlando next year.
00:15A bronze backers group was like, hey, we actually have a group of tickets
00:19set up with Jacksonville in their ticket office right now.
00:22They're playing in Jacksonville.
00:24I'm going to go, there is one person who's corrected me in 40 minutes
00:28when that story was first brought up.
00:31Not a lot of juice behind them Jaguars.
00:33What about the Travis Hunter situation?
00:38That's a totally different ball of wax.
00:40It's a conversation that isn't going away.
00:42I know it's annoying.
00:43I'm annoyed by it.
00:46Because I'll respect the opinion.
00:47There's plenty of people, like the clip just went out on the internet
00:50of me saying like, hey guys, the Dolphins are getting ready for 2027.
00:54The Cardinals look like they're getting ready for next year.
00:58There's a couple other.
00:58Jets, I think, are getting ready for 27.
01:00The Browns are not acting like that.
01:02Now, I'll respect your opinion if you don't think that's the right thing to do
01:06because there's plenty of people going, Kenny, this is a –
01:08and like, I'm an excitable guy,
01:10and we're starting to turn the page to another season.
01:13The schedule comes out tonight.
01:14I've already saw – you know, strength of schedule is the weakest in the league.
01:18The miles traveled through the air is the lowest in the league.
01:23They probably will have a lot of 1 o'clock games.
01:25There's a lot of things.
01:27You still have one of the best defenses in the NFL when it comes to flat-out football.
01:30There's a lot of things that kind of play into your hand here.
01:34But it's still like, hey, you got a bunch of free agents
01:36and rookies on the offensive line.
01:38Casey Concepcion's exciting.
01:40Denzel Boston could be exciting.
01:41They haven't played in a Browns uniform yet.
01:43Like, Kenny, you got to pull back a little bit.
01:44I'm like, okay, I'll pull back a little bit because you guys are right.
01:47You guys are right.
01:47Because those folks are saying it's not even worth the fight
01:51to be really competitive in 2026.
01:54And then that's when the Miles Garrett conversation gets brought up.
01:57And I'm going, well, I think there's a difference in what you think
01:59the Browns ought to do, whether you think like, hey, there's no time for tanking
02:02and I'm one of those people, or you think that what are we doing here?
02:05You're just going to mess it up in a great draft class
02:08and we aren't going to get a good pick, this, that, and the other.
02:10When it comes to Miles Garrett, yeah, you can get a hell of a haul for Miles Garrett.
02:14Probably still get a hell of a haul for Miles Garrett next year,
02:16but we'll discuss that then.
02:18Mary Kay, I had to flat out ask her because a lot of people are bringing it up.
02:21Breer brought it up yesterday.
02:22What's the percent chances that Miles Garrett is a Brown week one
02:25of this football season?
02:27I would say pretty darn close to 100%.
02:29You can never say never, but Andrew Barry has been adamant,
02:33and Jimmy Haslam has been adamant about the fact that they're not trading Miles Garrett,
02:37that they do feel like they're poised to kind of take off
02:40once they figure out the quarterback situation.
02:42I mean, if this team grows up a little bit this year
02:45and then a little bit more next year,
02:46they should be able to win some significant games next year
02:50if they have a quarterback.
02:52I'll take them at their word,
02:55especially because every action has said that they're going to try to compete this season.
03:00Every action has told me that they are going to try to do that.
03:02But I'm not going to lie to everybody and say,
03:04like, okay, June 1st, June 2nd, especially after June 1st,
03:06is when we're going to start paying attention to a couple of things.
03:09That's all.
03:09I just don't have to.
03:11I don't, but I don't include a Miles Garrett decision
03:15as one that is correlated at all with them rebuilding the team.
03:21Like, that's what they've done.
03:23They're rebuilding the team.
03:24The two years in a row they've gone younger,
03:27and I don't think it's to go to the Super Bowl this year, do you?
03:30No.
03:30So I don't think that has anything to do with the Miles Garrett part of this.
03:34But I see a lot of teams in our own division at a crossroads,
03:36and it starts to mess with your emotions.
03:37Sure.
03:38I mean, you know, look, Dallas traded, you know,
03:41Parsons right before the season started, right?
03:43Yeah.
03:44August.
03:45And, you know, the Cowboys are always trying to win,
03:48but they weren't going to pass up a crazy offer,
03:51and that's why I don't think the Browns would pass up a crazy offer
03:55because the whole point of this is to be smart about your windows,
04:00and they're supposed to be one of the worst teams in football this year.
04:04I felt that Dallas would be dead in the water.
04:07They still had talent on that football team.
04:09There was injuries, obviously.
04:10I thought they'd be dead in the water after that trade.
04:13I think if you were to move on from Miles,
04:14people would feel like they're definitely dead in the water going in.
04:16Yeah, you would assume, but you never know with quarterback play.
04:19That was a first-year head coach going into last year with the Cowboys.
04:21You're right.
04:22Yeah, and obviously what would happen?
04:24Like, imagine if Shador ends up being really good this year
04:27and they traded Miles.
04:28Everyone would lambaste the Browns for doing that,
04:32but wouldn't it also be part of,
04:35oh, you're giving Shador three first-round picks over the next few years?
04:39Like, that's huge.
04:41That's absolutely huge,
04:42especially considering how talented next year's draft is.
04:46Like, it's all about maximizing windows,
04:48and it's what are the odds that whoever the quarterback of the Browns is
04:52when they're good again, whether it's Shador now
04:54or the guy they take next year, right,
04:58if they end up taking somebody next year,
05:01what are the odds that those two windows work in unison,
05:06that it ends up being the perfect storm,
05:08that Miles is in his prime,
05:11and that next quarterback is in his prime?
05:14Less than 50%.
05:14I think it's way less than 50%.
05:15Okay, well, I'm being generous probably.
05:17Because think about it.
05:18If they end up just being bad this year and they keep Miles,
05:21then you're going to draft a quarterback the following year.
05:24When is that quarterback going to be really good
05:26and ready to make a run?
05:27Going off of it.
05:28How old is Miles going to be?
05:29That's fair.
05:30Now, it could happen sooner than later, but that's fair.
05:32But let me ask you this real quick.
05:34We bring up Micah Parsons last year,
05:36and that's like, man, that's August.
05:37We have a lot of time to sit around and twirl our thumbs
05:39and wonder if bad things can happen here.
05:42But Micah was in a contract dispute.
05:46Miles is not in a contract dispute.
05:48I know they reworked some things.
05:50Hell, I think right now it might be more likely
05:52they sign him to extra money to make him the highest paid guy again.
05:56I think it's more likely to do that than they were to trade him.
05:59I'll stick my foot out there and I'll say it right then.
06:00Well, if I were Miles, I'd be demanding.
06:03I need to be the highest non-quarterback in football right now.
06:07And very well, that move might have been able to do something like that.
06:10Because he is obviously worth his weight in gold.
06:13And he means everything to the franchise,
06:14even though the franchise hasn't been that good.
06:17And I think that they are so...
06:19They desperately don't want to go back to 2016-2017 land.
06:24They don't want to do that.
06:26They know...
06:26People are going, well, they've got to build it for 2029.
06:28You've got to have something competitive before 2029.
06:32I can't just say, well, now we're going to compete.
06:33Why?
06:34Because you have a new stadium?
06:35Like, the Indians did not just all of a sudden start being...
06:39They started being a competitive team to us in 1994.
06:42But John Hart would go, hey, man, this started in 1989 when this stuff was going on.
06:47Like, it takes time for certain things to happen.
06:50And so I would think that, yeah, I would say it's probably more likely
06:53they sign him to extra money than to trade him.
06:56Because if you trade him, especially in August,
06:57we'll talk about torpedo in the season.
