00:00So, we've been sent a million videos, and we are.
00:03We do enjoy, well, some of the interaction.
00:07I made a lot of Shadorians mad yesterday, apparently,
00:10because how dare we discuss Talon Green at all.
00:13And then people were going,
00:14wait, now all of a sudden you think a late-round pick deserves a chance?
00:17Ha, ha, ha, ha, hold on.
00:19That was that guy, not me.
00:21I thought the late-round pick last year deserved a chance,
00:24just like I think the late-round pick this year deserves a chance
00:26at being on the roster, not starting week one, for the love of God.
00:30So, everybody's being asked who should start for the bronze.
00:33Everybody.
00:34And we are sent a bunch of videos every day,
00:38whether it be Facebook, Instagram, email, Twitter,
00:42you name it, we're getting it, right?
00:44Everybody's sending it.
00:46And there's some names that's like,
00:47all right, we've got to get that person's opinion on record, on the show,
00:50but we can't get everybody.
00:53And yesterday, John sent us Bernie,
00:56who he thinks should be the starting quarterback week one.
00:59Before we play it, and Lyman goes,
01:01all right, we're going to have to draw a line somewhere, John.
01:03We can't just keep playing all these guys,
01:05because where does the conversation go?
01:06Okay, this is what Jim Druckenmiller,
01:09this is who he thinks should start.
01:10Like, we can't keep throwing different guys in there.
01:13And I'm like, well, I know you weren't making the argument.
01:16I'm like, okay, Bernie definitely is one of the ones that we pay attention to.
01:19He's on the list.
01:20Yeah, for sure.
01:21And Lyman's like, we just need to make a list on who's in and who's out.
01:24Yeah.
01:24So I'll play Bernie real quick.
01:26So our opinions are, for all, until we're proven different,
01:32you want who to start week one right now.
01:34On record, you are who?
01:35I said Shador Sanders.
01:36Okay, so are you Shador Owen?
01:38Yes.
01:39John, where are you at?
01:40I'm Shador.
01:41So it is actually an official show stance.
01:44This is who we want.
01:46We want Shador to start week one.
01:49John, it's actually an official show stance.
01:51Again, we're getting back to the Cavs soon, I promise.
01:53But this needs to be done.
01:55An official show stance.
01:57So who does Bernie Kosar, when he goes on Yahoo Sports,
02:02who does the legend Bernie want to start for the Cleveland Browns?
02:05I really enjoy how Shador played at the end of last season.
02:10Us quarterbacks, we get a lot of credit.
02:12Too much credit when we win.
02:14Too much blame when we lose.
02:15Sometimes teams think a singular guy wins and loses a game
02:19within a basketball game or a hockey playoff game.
02:23Same the way they look at some of us quarterbacks and stuff in the NFL.
02:27But I really believe we are victims or beneficiaries of the guys around us.
02:31And I'm not trying to be mean or get in trouble in the spirit of levity.
02:35But we were very void of talent with the Browns on offense last year.
02:39So for Shador to come in as a rook with a really limited, talented roster
02:44around him offensively, he certainly made plays.
02:47So he deserves to be in this mix.
02:49And I wouldn't be surprised to see Shador get this opportunity early
02:54if he doesn't come out as the game one starter.
02:56I've never heard Bernie be mean in my entire life.
02:58So I can't imagine Bernie would ever try to be mean.
03:01All right.
03:01So Bernie goes on the list.
03:03So I actually wrote down five right off the tippy top.
03:07I'm the one who always writes things down.
03:09Lima actually has to pull pens that don't even have caps on them
03:11out of the tray here.
03:14Level of preparation is outstanding with you.
03:16I wrote a couple words.
03:17No, you didn't.
03:17What did you write?
03:1834 free throw edge.
03:20That's the only thing you've written down all morning.
03:22It's an hour and 26 minutes.
03:24So I wrote down number one, fans and callers.
03:27Uh-huh.
03:28Okay.
03:28Tweets, whatever.
03:30Okay.
03:30So listeners, they're number one on the list.
03:33Number two, all Cleveland sports media.
03:39There's a question at the end of that.
03:41There's a question mark at the end of that.
03:42Are we including all Cleveland sports media?
03:45Sure, yeah.
03:45Because you're going to start a war with somebody.
03:47So Mary Kay, who catches hell, she's obviously in there.
03:52Jason Lloyd, who catches a lot of hell, he's obviously in there.
03:55That's okay.
03:56So we're, so like Mack Robinson's in, everybody's in.
04:00Yes.
04:00All right.
04:01I don't know why Mack came to my thought of who might not be in.
04:04I apologize, Mack.
04:05I'm just making sure we all know.
04:07You're out, Mack.
04:07I'm just letting you know, if Padone says something crazy over the weekend, you can't go,
04:12well, it's Padone.
04:13No, no, no, no.
04:14No, we're taking consideration for all of it.
04:16All right.
04:17Number three, Bernie.
04:19Number four, Joe.
04:22Thomas.
04:22Yes.
04:23Yes.
04:23Number five, John Greco.
04:26Comes on the show weekly.
04:28All right.
04:28So John's in there.
04:29That's the five I thought off off the top of my head.
04:32All right.
04:33Is Kirk Herbstreet in there?
04:34Because apparently he had said that.
04:37Yeah, he talked to Jim Schwartz and Schwartz, who's no longer with the Browns.
04:41I didn't know it was Jim Schwartz.
04:42Jim Schwartz, former defensive coordinator.
04:44He's a guy who thought he was getting the job.
04:46He said, get ready because Deshaun Watson's back.
04:50Does it count if he said he heard it from Jim Schwartz?
04:53I love it.
04:54I just love that Jim Schwartz is operating from afar.
04:59Did Herbstreet actually say he thought Deshaun should start?
05:03Or is he just repeating what Jim Schwartz?
05:05I think that's what it sounded like to me.
05:06Okay.
05:07So then that doesn't count because you can't count Jim Schwartz.
05:10No, you can't count Jim Schwartz.
05:12Jim Schwartz has seen both of these quarterbacks.
05:13You cannot count Jim Schwartz in this, and you know exactly why.
05:16Don't be stupid.
05:17Jim Schwartz is not on the list.
05:19Oh, do you think he's intentionally being divisive?
05:22I guess so.
05:24Wouldn't you?
05:25I think that's speculation.
05:26He wanted out, and they're not letting him out.
05:27I think he'd probably do what he can within reason and not breach his contract.
05:31Well, he probably does want to breach his contract for all we know.
05:35Yeah, he probably does want to breach his contract.
05:37So he's not on the list.
05:39Jim Schwartz is not on the list.
05:40But if Kirk Herbstreet comes out and says it, is Kirk Herbstreet on the list?
05:44Yeah.
05:44Okay.
05:45Herbstreet.
05:46Who else can we think of real quick off the top of our head?
05:48Albert Breer.
05:49Oh, Albert Breer's on there, yeah.
05:51He has been consistent in saying that there is a big talent edge.
05:55Okay.
05:56Breer's on there.
05:57Is there anybody else?
05:58John, open up the mic.
05:59Think of anything.
06:02Emery from – he goes on the afternoon show.
06:04We've had him on.
06:04Emery Hunt.
06:05Emery Hunt.
06:05He's on the Shinnor side.
06:06Emery Hunt is on the list.
06:06I mean, he thinks Shinnor is like a top five quarterback in the league.
06:10Mel Kuyper?
06:11Oh, yeah.
06:12We know what he thinks about.
06:15McShay.
06:16Does McShay – Kuyper's the only one who's really been like adamant afterwards.
06:20McShay kind of just sticks to college and like, all right, once they're drafted, we're
06:24kind of moving on.
06:24Yeah, I don't think McShay likes either of them.
06:26Okay.
06:27But do we count McShay if we were to have – I don't know why we'd have McShay on before
06:31the season, but –
06:32We'll ask him if we have him on.
06:33Sure.
06:34Okay.
06:34Is there anybody else you can think of?
06:37Trey Wingo.
06:38When we have Trey Wingo on.
06:39Trey Wingo.
06:40Oh, you know what?
06:41You got to have – you got to have Stink.
06:44Okay.
06:45Well –
06:45You got to have Schlereth.
06:45Of course, we have to have Schlereth.
06:47Schlereth weighed in on this.
06:48I almost said no just because I'm tired of having big fights right after Mark Schlereth
06:52jumps on the station.
06:52He was on Watson.
06:53Every time he jumps on the station, I roll my eyes, not because I dislike the guy.
06:57It's just because, oh, God, here we go.
06:59I'm going to have another fight about another player.
07:01Here it comes.
07:02Okay, so I'm putting Stink down.
07:04We're up to 11.
07:05Did you write Stink?
07:06I wrote Stink for brevity.
07:08We're up to 11.
07:09John, do you have anybody off the top of your head?
07:11Are there any former players?
07:13Does Jarvis Landry count?
07:14Oh.
07:15I think Jarvis Landry counts.
07:17I think so, yeah.
07:17I think Jarvis Landry should count.
07:18He was the soul of the football team at one point.
07:20Jarvis counts.
07:21Odell, does he count?
07:23Yeah.
07:23Why not?
07:25We sure?
07:26Is he trying to make a comeback?
07:27Yes.
07:29Didn't he –
07:30Yeah, he played flag football and now he wants to play regular football.
07:32I thought he's like on with the Giants right now.
07:34But he's also out of money, so he needs the money.
07:38Okay, so Odell is on the list.
07:41Who else is on the list?
07:43Before we – I got to get two more before that's it.
07:46Give me two more.
07:48Former players, media, whatever it is.
07:53Joe Hayden.
07:54Joe Hayden is on the list.
07:55All right, we're putting Hayden down on the list.
07:57Josh Cribs.
07:57What about Brady Quinn?
07:59Yes.
08:00Oh, Brady's on the list.
08:00That's 16.
08:01That's 16.
08:02Well done.
08:03Well done.
08:04These are our advisors, our Blue Ribbon Task Force.
08:07Cody Kessler.
08:08About Korn Ferry.
08:09You know what?
08:10Kessler – he's doing more and more media.
08:12Kessler?
08:12He's got to be on there.
08:13Kessler, yes or no?
08:14I mean, he's out there talking.
08:15Oh, my God.
08:16I was going to make it a joke.
08:17All right, fine.
08:17Kessler's on the list.
08:19All right, we're up to 17.
08:21Oh.
08:21What?
08:22Who?
08:22What?
08:22Johnny Manziel.
08:24Johnny Manziel is not on the list.
08:26Why isn't he on the list?
08:27He was a Heisman winner.
08:28Yeah.
08:29He's doing like the Tanya Harding boxing thing.
08:32No, he's not on the list.
08:33I'm not taking him seriously whatsoever.
08:35I mean, he is somebody who knows about Heisman Trophy winners.
08:38He knows about elite college quarterbacks.
08:40Why would you throw him up there?
08:41Stop agreeing with him.
08:42You know you're just agreeing to be an ass.
08:44What are you talking about?
08:44I can see your face.
08:46That's what I know I'm talking about.
08:47I know people on YouTube can't, but I can.
08:50What about Jansen from Detroit?
08:52John Jansen.
08:53Got to get Jansen in there.
08:53John Jansen counts before Johnny Manziel, I'll tell you that, right damn now.
08:57Who still wants 100 travels called from last night?
09:00Call Evita.
09:01You up there?
09:03Yep.
09:03All right.
09:04Should Johnny Manziel be on the list?
09:06No.
09:07He lost all of his brain cells in college.
09:09That's my God.
09:09Oh, stop it.
09:10You don't know that.
09:11John, I love you.
09:12Oh, a guy got in a little trouble and liked to have a little bit of fun.
09:16A little trouble?
09:17A little?
09:18Sit back and have a good time in Vegas.
09:21I guess I'm not allowed to be on here.
09:24I guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion.
09:26John, I like to kick back and relax a little bit back in the day.
09:29Did you get arrested running away from the cops?
09:32They never caught me.
09:32Were you drunk off your ass during an SEC football game?
09:36They never caught me.
09:37Lyman's been drunk off his ass during a youth football game, let alone an SEC football game.
09:40He wasn't playing in it.
09:41So, Albert Breer was on afternoon drive yesterday.
09:44This is the time of year.
09:45This is where I side with the fans.
09:47I kind of tried to be this type of way, and I'm like, you know what?
09:50We only get so many times to celebrate certain teams, certain times of the year.
09:54Like, you hope that, yeah, there's going to be plenty to celebrate this regular season,
09:58but we don't know.
09:59The offensive line's up in the air.
10:00We don't know.
10:01More on that with Albert Breer here in just a second.
10:04But I know that the writers never make a big deal.
10:06The insiders are just like, okay, yeah, the schedule's being released.
10:10I'm like, well, let people have their fun.
10:11Let people speculate.
10:12Let people have their fun.
10:13We don't need to be Buzz Killingtons about it.
10:16But let's have our fun because this might be the most fun we have overall this entire year.
10:22So, if tonight the schedule comes out, I will tell you I'll be a little bit underwhelmed
10:27opening with Jacksonville and Orlando because it's Jacksonville and Orlando.
10:31But, okay.
10:33And, by the way, it's a playoff team last year,
10:35so that's going to be a formidable opponent to start off against,
10:37and we don't know exactly who's going to be quarterback.
10:39I know that the odds came out again yesterday.
10:42Did you see the betonline.ag odds that we always get sent?
10:45Yeah.
10:45They have Deshaun as leader for week one starter.
10:50I understand that.
10:52But Albert Breer was asked yesterday, because he's on afternoon drive every week,
10:56can the Browns compete despite that QB situation?
10:59Hit it.
11:00I think this is another year for them of developing young talent, building assets,
11:06and I think that's going to be kind of an ongoing thing and continuing to invest in the future.
11:11On the field, what that means is pouring into Mason Graham, Harold Fannin, Carson Swessinger.
11:17On offense, you've got two young receivers, Casey Concepcion and Denzel Boston,
11:22and Spencer Fano at left tackle.
11:25Look, I give them credit because, like, you look at what's happened in Pittsburgh
11:28and keeps doubling down on an aging core.
11:30I give the Browns some credit for, like, looking at it and saying, like,
11:34okay, the Miles Garrett, Denzel Ward core has sort of started to age out.
11:39Like, instead of just spinning our wheels, let's try to get younger,
11:42and let's invest in younger players across the board.
11:45They got younger on the offensive line, way younger on the offensive line.
11:49You know, I think they continue to get younger on defense.
11:51Part of the reason why I've said for a while now I would look at trading Miles Garrett,
11:55like, I think that's where they're going.
11:56They're going towards a future that's going to be built around those younger guys.
12:01I still look at it like this is going to be a year of development.
12:04This is going to be a year where you're going to continue to pour into the guys
12:07that contributed for you last year and pour into the rookies.
12:10And you hope, you know, by the end of the year there's a pretty bright light
12:14at the end of the tunnel.
12:15And maybe at that point you know who your quarterback is going forward.
12:19I tried to put a moratorium on the Miles stuff.
12:21We're two and a half weeks away from starting to get nervous.
12:25Because June 1st is going to be coming here.
12:27We're going to have to be monitoring things.
12:30I can't deny it.
12:31Now that said, all their actions have showed you they don't plan to do this plan
12:36that everybody's making out for them.
12:38That they would trade Miles.
12:40They would start to rebuild.
12:41You know, I know when Albert Breer says they're getting younger on the offensive line,
12:45I go, yeah, they did take a couple offensive linemen.
12:47Parker Brailsford might start for them at center.
12:49And Spencer Fano will absolutely start at left tackle.
12:52But you went out and you got veterans as free agents.
12:54So you could have continued to get real young on the offensive line if you wanted to.
12:59You could have continued to let some guys go.
13:02You still brought guys in.
13:04You still kept guys who are of higher salary.
13:07You have a new head coach.
13:09You may make a very unpopular decision and start Deshaun Watson.
13:13Not because of $230 million.
13:15Because you believe that he's the best quarterback on this roster.
13:19Everything that they've done, if they trade Miles Garrett, that torpedoes this entire sentence.
13:25Yeah.
13:25But everything that they've done tells you that they think they're closer than a lot of us,
13:29than a lot of everybody else does.
13:31Yeah, but how many teams, I don't know.
13:33Like, I don't, obviously, if you look at win expectations, I mean, most everybody, most sites,
13:40they still have the Browns as one of the bottom five in the league.
13:43So the reason we love the NFL and love this league is, on paper, you can look like you
13:49have a very young, not-so-great football team, inexperienced football team, and they
13:54can take the league by storm if those young draft picks are really good.
13:57But typically, if you're starting significantly two wide receivers that are rookies, a second-year
14:05tight end, second-year running back, potentially two rookies on the offensive line, like, that
14:09is a formula for losing a lot of games normally.
14:11We got, with a, with a, either a fifth-round quarterback from the year before, or a Deshaun
14:16Watson who hasn't been good in six years.
14:18Remember when Andrew-
14:18That is a formula for losing a lot of games.
14:20I understand that, but you remember when Andrew referenced the Chicago Bears, and I
14:22kind of rolled my eyes going, oh, I don't know about that.
14:25It might be a formula, but I don't think they're planning on it.
14:27They've planned on it before.
14:28Like, I, you mentioned the other teams.
14:29Let me just say this real quick.
14:31The Dolphins look like they're getting ready for 20-27.
14:33Yes.
14:33The Jets look like they're getting ready for 20-27.
14:35The Cardinals look like they're getting ready for 20-27.
14:37That was just off the top of my head writing those down.
14:38I don't think the Browns are acting as a team.
14:41Now, I told you my crazy conspiracy theory before, who they might be still making sure
14:47that they have a good foundation for just in case, because that guy will absolutely work
14:51the draft the way he wants to work the draft.
14:53His family is notorious for it, but that's a conspiracy theory that I can continue to bring
14:57up as time goes on.
14:58It's just their actions have not led me to believe that they're getting everybody ready
15:03to go out and lose football games this year and get ready for 20-27.
15:06It's the exact opposite.
15:07Yeah, but I just don't think you need to plot to lose games in the NFL.
15:12You just play a lot of young guys.
15:13You lose a lot of games in the NFL playing young guys, right?
