00:00I'm just as excited to hear what you're going to say.
00:03I don't even know what you're going to say.
00:05Is there something to talk about?
00:06I have no idea.
00:08So it's one of these moments where I am obviously a part of this show,
00:11but I'm just as interested as everybody else to hear how it's going to go.
00:14Well, it was a fun day on social media.
00:16I hope everybody got your tweets in, you got your brackets set.
00:21So if you missed it, we can catch you up.
00:23Okay.
00:25Ken reacted to a hypothetical yesterday from our show
00:29where in seeing how dismissive you were of Tanner McKee
00:33and trading for like a fifth round pick,
00:35I then threw out a hypothetical of, all right, would you rather do that
00:41or would you rather do the sixth pick in the first round for Jalen Hurts?
00:46Yeah, yeah.
00:47Knowing one of those moves doesn't seem to be on the table,
00:50but it was more gauging your disdain for Tanner McKee
00:54and how completely not interested you were in that.
00:57And then Ken set forth this itty bitty gem.
01:02Why the hell would you put Tanner McKee on the trade block, apparently, quote-unquote,
01:07if you were going to start him over Jalen Hurts,
01:09who somehow we would give up a sixth overall pick for?
01:11It's not a real thing.
01:12This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard in the history of this station.
01:15I ain't yelling at you, this is dumb.
01:17This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, and he knows it.
01:20That's why he's hiding, because he's laughing at me,
01:22because he knows I've lost my mind over this.
01:24Of all the stupid things that have been said on these airwaves in 14 years,
01:28this is easily the most recent, I still love you, Les.
01:32Second of all, it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
01:34We have lost our minds.
01:36We have literally taken the bottom lip and wrapped it over our heads now,
01:41and we are suffocating for air.
01:43This is dumb.
01:44Guys, this is stupid.
01:46Do you hear what's coming out of our mouths?
01:49I think I've ever seen you this mad.
01:51Because I can't stand the stupidity.
01:53I can't do it.
01:53The six overall for Jalen Hurts from a team that was going to quote-unquote start Tanner Bickey over him,
01:59and the reason to do it is because he's better than Johnny Manziel,
02:03because he's better than Charlie Fry.
02:05It should be noted, the Eagles were not going to bench Jalen Hurts last year.
02:11No, that was WIP, and that was fans.
02:14Yeah, it was all just people talking.
02:16So, E, not great.
02:18And so then the other part of this, then, is the main point he wouldn't trade for Jalen Hurts
02:23for the number six overall pick.
02:25If that's the discussion, then let's have that discussion.
02:27But, like, the going market for Jalen Hurts is going to be more than a first-round pick.
02:31That would be pennies on the dollar, all things considered.
02:33We've never seen a quarterback of that stature get traded for anything less than two firsts.
02:37Yeah, I mean, if Malik Willis, who's got 155 career pass attempts,
02:41goes for, what was it, $20 million a year?
02:44Sight unseen.
02:45Just driving that off the lot at that price.
02:48I'm going to assume that there's a pretty nice price out there
02:51for a guy that a year ago won the Super Bowl.
02:52Well, Deshaun went for three first.
02:54Russell Wilson, basically when he was already spent
02:57and the Seahawks already knew it, went for two firsts.
02:59Like, Matthew Stafford had never won a playoff game
03:01and went for multiple first-round picks as well.
03:04Like, Jalen Hurts, who's been to two Super Bowls, has won a Super Bowl,
03:07and in the past four years, we're not using quarterback wins as a stat here,
03:10but in the past four years, has never won fewer than 11 games in a season.
03:13Like, he's going to go for at least the sixth overall pick.
03:17That's not even really debatable.
03:18So, gauging your disdain.
03:21So, let's set aside the not being able to differentiate Philly fans
03:25and WIP and actual the Eagles.
03:27Yeah, because, Matt, let us know.
03:29Are we actually even hitting the point that he was trying to make?
03:31Because I got very confused as to whether or not his argument was towards.
03:34I think it was that it was stupid.
03:35But what was stupid?
03:36Was it the Jalen Hurts part of it?
03:38Or was it the Tanner McKee part of it?
03:40Or just all of it?
03:40I think it.
03:41Talking football?
03:42Whatever it is, was stupid.
03:42The football guy thought that talking football was stupid?
03:44Is that the idea?
03:45I think the football guy.
03:46Now we can't even talk football appropriately?
03:49Like, should we be talking hockey instead?
03:51I think Mr. Four Levels, I think quite frankly,
03:55thinks that trading a six overall pick for an established starting quarterback,
04:00when four years ago, he had said,
04:03sure, trade three first for Deshaun Watson,
04:05who hadn't played in 700 days by the time he actually got on the field for the Browns,
04:09and was in the act of being accused of, I don't know,
04:1220-plus sexual assault allegations and then sued that many times too?
04:16He sang the six overall pick, in a bad draft, by the way.
04:21That's just nonsensical.
04:22Like, the Eagles are obviously never going to do this,
04:25but it was within a minute and a half of a hypothetical,
04:28because we were trying to talk about Tanner McKee.
04:30Yes.
04:30And that becomes the dumbest thing he's heard on the radio station?
04:33Yes.
04:33And in fairness, by the way, you only offered a take when I backed you into a quarter
04:38and said, I need your take.
04:40You made me choose.
04:41Yes.
04:41It's an A or B option.
04:42There's no C option of saying, I want to sit this one out on the bench.
04:45It's an A or B option I had to choose.
04:47Now, can I tell you?
04:48Yeah.
04:48Because then, I quote tweeted the video that was out there,
04:52and they're, okay, I did violate my own rule,
04:55which is I reacted to a video.
04:57You've got rules.
04:57Instead of doing what I normally do, which is I watch a video,
05:01and then I go, oh, I want to see what the rest of that was like.
05:04All right?
05:05So usually I'll go click into the full segment,
05:07which I think is always a reasonable thing to do.
05:10Yeah.
05:10So I kind of, half tongue-in-cheek, responded,
05:14nice fake outrage there from Ken,
05:16and what proceeded was what I think most people would call
05:21a real public you-know-what match.
05:24Okay, then.
05:25And Ken then accused me of being fake.
05:28I may have accused him of being fake.
05:30And then he said, no, no, no, no, you're fake.
05:33At which I said, no, no, no, no, boo-boo, you are fake.
05:37And we each gave our instances in what not.
05:39Can I tell you the one thing that I took the most umbrage to
05:42out of all of this?
05:43What's that?
05:44The Barrett Sports Media pick.
05:46Okay.
05:47You've got to understand.
05:48They used a picture.
05:50I've got to see the photo.
05:50That I was pressured into taking.
05:53I looked like a giant salmon with a forehead that would make
05:57Peyton Manning blush.
05:59It's not a great pick of you.
06:00No, no.
06:01And I was bullied into it by somebody here who knows,
06:06who maybe used to be the producer on this show,
06:08whom I love very much.
06:09But I was bullied into doing it without a hat.
06:12And I didn't want to take pictures that day.
06:14You do nothing without a hat.
06:15Why would you do this without a hat?
06:17Because I was trying to be a team player.
06:20And so I hate that picture.
06:23I also hate when somebody writes something and then they put it into chat GPT
06:27to make it better.
06:28I'm not saying that Barrett Sports Media is doing that,
06:30but I'm saying that that is one of the things that I don't like.
06:33Yeah.
06:33Is that how that article read to you?
06:35So what initially irked me on some small level.
06:38Yeah.
06:38Because most of what I said was an attempt to have fun.
06:45It's social media.
06:46So when you do that, it comes out like a thousand miles an hour faster
06:52than you mean it.
06:53Yeah, that's how that works.
06:55Because, again, people can't tell your tone.
06:57They can't tell.
06:57It's a real problem.
06:58In fairness, I think maybe Ken couldn't tell my tone on the initial tweet.
07:02Yeah.
07:03The subsequent tweets were written in FU font.
07:06Well, yeah, once you guys got into it,
07:08then there was no looking back.
07:11You guys were going full steam ahead.
07:13But I didn't click in.
07:14I should have clicked into the full segment.
07:16But in the initial thing, I thought it was calling somebody specifically stupid,
07:22which I think after listening to the full thing,
07:25I can understand that's not where he was going,
07:27but that's how he took it.
07:29And my general, I was a little irritated by that.
07:34And so I thought his reaction was not commensurate with a conversation that actually happened.
07:42And so, yes, I definitely took a shot.
07:44There's just no way around it.
07:45Yeah.
07:46Everything after that, I feel, was a little bit this for that.
07:50But I just think calling your co-workers stupid,
07:53which, again, I don't know that that was his intent after hearing the whole segment.
07:56I think calling your co-workers stupid is pretty rotten.
08:00Especially, like, I don't think you're stupid.
08:02I don't really think we have dumb people that work here.
08:05Yeah.
08:05I also think calling your co-workers fake,
08:09and there's going to be some heaping irony here.
08:12Yeah.
08:14I also think it's probably not the best thing for the business between any of our shows.
08:19We play each other's audio.
08:22It's clear that we listen to each other.
08:25And so it was apparent that in the spirit of Ken being worked into a shoot
08:31and then me thinking somebody was being called stupid, that maybe,
08:35I'm just saying maybe here, thinking out loud, it got away from us a little bit.
08:40I think I'm going to say that and go out on a limb on that one.
08:42Thank you for that read on that, then, I guess.
08:44Yeah.
08:45Got away from you just a little bit.
08:47You know, it is what it is.
08:48I just, my stupid self, I'm like, should I call in?
08:52I want to call in.
08:53I just said I don't like calling your co-workers stupid.
08:55No, I said, it's fine if I do it myself.
08:58Okay.
08:59It's fine if I'm, like, my stupid.
09:00Don't make me call you fake.
09:01I'll do it.
09:02I've done it today.
09:03If I say my fake self, it's all, everything's on the table.
09:05No, I thought about calling in, and then I'm like,
09:07an hour and a half went by, and I'm like,
09:08oh, I don't think they even want to argue about it.
09:10The number six overall pick is a bad trade for Jalen Hurts.
09:12Yeah.
09:13That thing might not even be something they're interested in.
09:15I guess I'll read the room correctly and see my way out.
09:18Can we also say, good job by John, by the way.
09:22John, good job.
09:23You showed more in that convo than anybody else in that room when it came.
09:28That's spineless jellyfish, Daryl Ryder.
09:30What was that by him?
09:32What was that, Daryl?
09:33He was laying in the flat.
09:37He was not getting in on that.
09:38You know better.
09:39Somebody that is going to be the eighth to tenth best quarterback in the NFL.
09:43No, no, no, no, no.
09:44You know that goes for six overall and then some.
09:47It's not, you don't start the conversation at six overall.
09:49That is multiple first round picks if you were to realistically trade for Jalen Hurts.
09:53Hell, look at all the defensive players you see going for multiple first round.
09:56Laramie Tunzel once got multiple first round picks, and he was higher than a kite.
10:00Jalen Ramsey, two different times in his life, has been traded for multiple first round picks.
10:04But Jalen Hurts, who's been to two Super Bowls and has won a Super Bowl, isn't worth one sixth overall
10:10pick?
10:10You're kidding me.
10:11That was spineless you, Daryl.
10:12I was so disappointed in Daryl.
10:14Daryl was like, oh yeah, I think you're right, Ken.
10:16Oh, you think he's right?
10:17I don't believe you.
10:19Everyone just sat back and made it a you're right, Ken fest, which is a ridiculous thing, except for John.
10:24John won me over in this argument because, John, maybe this is why you need more Philly guys in your
10:29life.
10:29John was the only one to stick up and be like, guys, this makes no sense.
10:32Jalen Hurts is of course worth number six overall.
10:35Of course he's going to be worth that because obviously he'd be worth that.
10:39Let the record reflect that I am giving Daryl the Peterlin pass.
10:43No pass for me.
10:44It's not his everyday show.
10:46The Peterlin pass.
10:47And two of his friends were fighting on social media and calling each other fake like teenagers.
10:54I was going to go, I was going to put it up and we're not.
10:57No, teenagers.
10:58So we were having a public hissy fit.
11:01Daryl wanted no part of it.
11:02Here's what I'll say.
11:03That is the right play by him.
11:05Lima never would have done this.
11:06Yeah, Lima's on the show.
11:08I've never missed Lima more in my life.
11:10I've never missed him more in my life than in that moment.
11:13He's in no chance.
11:14Ken wouldn't even gotten riled up.
11:16He wouldn't have had a chance to because I would have been like, oh, yeah, I would trade
11:19Jalen.
11:19Yeah.
11:20Six overall for Jalen Hurts.
11:21You kidding me?
11:21Yeah, let's do that.
11:22So and then Ken would have been like, oh, maybe just maybe, maybe they're onto something
11:26there when it comes to that not being the worst idea the station's ever heard.
11:30So while we're on the topic of Jalen Hurts for the sixth pick is the dumbest thing Ken has
11:36ever heard.
11:37I have to say now Ken has said in fairness, Ken has said that it is.
11:43He thinks this is what's going to happen.
11:45It's not necessarily endorsement.
11:46I think the dumbest thing I've ever heard is running a Shador versus Deshaun quarterback
11:52room back and acting like that's a good choice.
11:58I understand why it's been normalized.
11:59I understand the financials of it and the fact that I think a lot of people are just broken
12:03down and just, hey, it's the Browns who gives a rip because we don't have expectations for
12:07that joke of a franchise anymore.
12:09Right?
12:10Again, that's how some people would phrase it, but not me.
12:12But in this moment, I am.
12:14I think that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
12:16And I think co-signing it in any way, like I am down for Shador versus just about anyone.
12:25Shador versus the guy that symbolizes every failure that this organization has had and
12:32where they took a team that looked like it had a Super Bowl window and crammed it into
12:38the ground, that to me is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
12:42I'm not saying trading the sixth pick for Jalen Hurts is much above that.
12:45Closest thing we got to reality, by the way.
12:47It is.
12:47And that is a total fair stance to have.
12:50But if we're talking dumb.
12:52You wouldn't trade the sixth overall pick for Jalen Hurts?
12:54Wait, are we talking literally?
12:55Are we talking?
12:56Yeah, we're talking literally.
12:57If the actual trade was presented, you would say no?
13:00No, no.
13:00I have to walk that back.
13:01No, I would.
13:01Yeah, there's no way you would say no.
13:02Now, a fifth rounder for Tanner McKee, that is just above Deshaun versus Shador for right
13:09now.
13:11It's better because at least it's another quarterback that's getting another quarterback
13:14away from damn Deshaun.
13:16At this point, I just thought you wanted different.
13:17At this point, I just thought you wanted some separator between the two.
13:20If that's worth a fifth round pick.
13:21Listen, I'm not giving a fifth round pick for Tanner McKee, as evidenced by yesterday
13:26in my disdain for Tanner McKee.
13:27But if your goal, this is not my goal, I don't care.
13:30But Shador versus Deshaun, I'm great with that.
13:32Because Shador is going to win that battle, and I'll watch Shador play.
13:35And if he's great, then awesome.
13:36And if he stinks, then we're in position for 2027.
13:39Cool.
13:39Let's do that.
13:40But if it ends up being someone like Tanner McKee, and they throw themselves in there,
13:44if they feel like that's enough of a competition for them, and it's a fifth round pick, I'm
13:48not going to hold a fifth round pick hostage.
13:49We have 10 of them.
13:51I'm all right with a fifth round pick.
13:52Now, to the shot fest that was on social media.
13:55It's just to put a nice little button on this one for our friends at BSM, and we thank you
13:58for listening.
13:59Yeah, call people names on the air like a real man.
14:01Yeah, that's fine.
14:05And to anyone asking, was it a work or a shoot?
14:09The answer is yes.
14:13That's it.
14:13I don't know.
14:14Was it a work or a shoot?
14:15Yes, of course it was.
14:16I thought only like three people could work.
14:18Was there a truth in something that both Ken and I said to each other?
14:20Of course.
14:21Of course.
14:21Yes.
14:22I'm going to shock everyone here right now.
14:24People in this business have egos, and people in this business are not always the best of
14:29friends.
14:30I think I'm friendly with Ken.
14:31I think Ken is friendly with me.
14:33We talk about each other, ask about each other's families when we see each other.
14:37We also are going to trigger each other's egos, and I enjoyed a fair amount of it.
14:43Did you say trigger?
14:44Did I say it?
14:45I meant trigger.
14:46I don't know.
14:46I don't know what you said.
14:47Are you going to call me stupid?
14:47Because you know how this is the third time in the segment.
14:50I'm definitely not going to do that.
14:52I will quote tweet you.
14:53I'll do it.
14:54I think you've done enough internet for today.
14:56I think we're good.
14:57Just a little bit more.
14:58Yeah.
14:58Just a little bit more internet.
15:00I don't think we need that.
15:01Yeah.
15:01No.
15:02I mean, all that makes sense.
15:03I just thought that only like three people could work Ken into a shoot.
15:06Isn't that what he said?
15:07I thought so.
15:08I thought it was only people.
15:08I thought it was only people.
15:09I thought it was only.
15:09Was it Lima, Owen, and then I don't know.
15:11Maybe Keith.
15:11I think that was it.
15:12So I guess we got to add me to that Mount Rushmore.
15:17Yeah.
15:17216-474-0092.
15:19Which one is dumber?
15:21Trading the six overall pick for Jalen Hurts or, and I'm just spitballing here, running
15:27it back with a Shador versus Deshaun quarterback competition.
