00:00Hello and welcome to this Victorian Janesweather update for Friday.

00:04We have got clear skies out there, there's just some wispy high cloud coming across from the west.

00:08Today is the hot day. There's showers and thunderstorms that are building to our northeast.

00:13It's going to start to feel a little bit humid and they're going to come into the eastern parts of the state today.

00:18So let's watch that. During the day on Friday, we've got a trough that is running down in through here by the end of it.

00:23So just past Warrnambool. So this is by, what time are we, about 10, 11pm tonight.

00:29So that is the cool change. Out ahead of that, we can get showers and thunderstorms.

00:33So on the ranges and just coming down into Gippsland as well.

00:37And then a little bit of activity with that trough overnight. So it is late.

00:41That's Friday. Let's now have a look at Saturday.

00:43The trough is here by the end of the day, running down into western Gippsland and the central parts of Victoria.

00:50Cool on this side after that trough has passed through. Hot out ahead of it.

00:54Showers and thunderstorms out ahead of it as well.

00:56So we might see some of those in Melbourne as that passes through during the afternoon after a warm day.

01:03So there's Saturday into Sunday. Very different picture.

01:06We've got showers that are coming up from the southwest.

01:09It's going to feel a lot cooler. There's even snow in Tasmania.

01:12So that's as we go through Sunday and into Monday.

01:15So it's cooler as we move across the weekend and into early next week.

01:19So it's Monday now. Let's have a look at Tuesday.

01:21High pressure out here by the end of the day.

01:24So we've got our next warm up. As we move into Wednesday, that is out to our east.

01:28We don't have any wet weather. We've just got warm conditions coming in warm to hot.

01:33Having a look at Thursday, we might start to see a little hint of a change coming through.

01:37More likely to be on Friday next week or even Saturday.

01:41So we've got a hot stretch from the middle of next week.

01:44Whereas today it's one to two days and that's all we've got.

01:47In terms of wet weather, 10 to 15 millimetres in through here.

01:50But we're not seeing the heavy falls that are happening in New South Wales.

01:53We're further away from the source of moisture.

01:55So it just doesn't add up to as much.

01:58All right, let's have a look at Melbourne.

02:0032, here's our hot day.

02:01It is a hot and summery end to the week.

02:03There is just a bit of wispy high cloud that is building.

02:05It remains warm into the evening.

02:0821 is the minimum overnight.

02:10Yesterday morning it was 9.

02:12So that's going to feel quite different.

02:1329, that is dependent on when that change comes through.

02:17So let's have a look hour by hour.

02:19We're seeing that move up 2pm and then the cool change comes through.

02:23Showers and thunderstorms are likely with that change and the showers are likely to continue into the evening.

02:29So that's what we're looking at for Saturday.

02:31Let's head back in through here.

02:32By Sunday, we're down.

02:34Temperatures are about 19.17 for Monday.

02:37So there's a chance of showers on Sunday and Monday, mainly during the afternoon.

02:41It's going to Tuesday, sunshine by the afternoon, back up to 21.

02:45Then here is our next burst of heat, Wednesday 33, Thursday 36.

02:49Change possibly coming through next Friday.
