02:57And of course, congratulations to those of you who were supporting Spain.
03:01But while others were organizing and taking in the game,
03:04there were other persons who were held bent on continuing the criminal activity
03:08that is happening in the country.
03:10Now, there was one triple murder along the eastern main road in Laventel,
03:14and one being a gentleman who stopped for gas when the shooting unfolded.
03:19That was on Saturday morning.
03:22And the one on Saturday night in Separia area,
03:25two men who also shot and killed with, of course, a gentleman who we will share,
03:30of course, more info on these situations and the persons who have passed
03:35and give you more info on that.
03:38Now, the gentleman to join us today each and every Monday to guide us that always brings good news

05:00that there is something going on in that Separia area.
05:03We've had probably four, well, now five,
05:06because I will touch on one during the program coming up shortly.
05:11But there seems to be something going on there in Separia,
05:15and when I read the report on the triple murder in Lavantel there,
05:21in Quarry Street area there,
05:23you know, condolences go out to the family of the gentleman who,
05:28I mean, all the families involved,
05:30but certainly to the gentleman who was an innocent bystander,
05:35who just came into the gas station to get some gas,
05:39and then, you know, he received a bullet to the back of the head,
05:42which exited through the front.
05:44I mean, a horrible way to die,
05:45but, you know, it tells this tale of, you know,
05:49blood on our streets.
05:50It happened at 9.15 a.m. in the morning.
05:53That is a time where most persons are out operating to run their errands.
05:59Exactly.
05:59You're going for your doubles,
06:01that are where you're going to the market,
06:02you're doing your errands,
06:04and filling up gas is one.
06:06And he was accidentally shot dead.
06:10I mean, it tells the tale of what's Trinidad and Tobago,
06:14what happens in our streets.
06:15Sometimes we get a break,
06:17but, you know, it comes back ever so often to remind us
06:20that the crime issues are protracted,
06:23one, and you have to continue to work at it continuously
06:26to try to, you know, let good sense prevail.
06:30And in the one down in Siberia is young men.
06:34Young men getting killed.
06:38Continue to say they're throwing away their lives.
06:40Yes, it's really, really sad again.
06:42Condolences to all the families who lost a loved one
06:45friends over the weekend.
06:47Now, I don't know if you felt the earthquake this morning.
06:49Oh, yes.
06:50I think Contest, Switch and Rescue was first out
06:52with the earthquake story this morning,
06:54a 5.2, just 20 kilometers northeast of Tobago.
06:58It's a long time we haven't seen.
06:59But it was twice, right?

07:00Very early this morning.
07:02U.S. Ice Mix Center reported that it was actually two tremors,
07:05but the first one came at 5.45 a.m. this morning.
07:08And it reminds us that we sit on tectonic plates.

07:21in terms of the nature of their formation.
07:23Which we saw.
07:23Yeah, and it is a timely reminder that we live, you know,
07:28with these things around, you have adverse weather conditions.
07:33You're seeing what's happening in Guyana, the ferry,
07:37as well as some Trinidadians missing on a fishing boat as well.
07:41Yes, and then also I realize as well from what was circulating
07:44on social media, Tobago got affected from the earthquake this morning.
07:48Well, the second one, it seems, I'm not even sure.
07:50So we have to wait, so we have to wait.
07:53To see, yes.
07:54And to see what type of, what the days are.
07:57Oh, Tima in Tobago, oh, we have our friends there.
07:59We call them right after the program, right, in Tima,
08:02to see what we could get and hopefully send it on to you all
08:06for tomorrow's program.

08:12in terms of a mission we had.
08:14An interesting mission where a dog, a neighbor's dog,

09:04lying in the bushes was a skull and a body,
09:08a severely rotted body, I would say,
09:1020 feet, 10 feet apart from the skull.
09:13And, you know, if we have persons in the Monropo area,
09:20one of your neighbors said that area seems to be like
09:22where they go to, there's a coke there,
09:25where they converge to go and do drugs, right?
09:29Which we're seeing here.
09:30Yeah, it's a bushy kind of area.
09:31You're seeing the houses, so it wasn't far from houses.
09:35So no one smelled anything?
09:36No one smelled anything at all, right?
09:39And a lot of rubbish and garbage around, and, you know,
09:44so there's the dog there again.
09:46Yeah, but it seems like the dog is, that is the dog's spot.
09:51Playground, yes.
09:51So he would have been playing with his skull,
09:53probably Lower John, Lower John broke off
09:56and brought it to his owner as a gift.
09:58You know, they love to bring gifts, right?
10:00So that was one mission there,
10:02and I just have feeling to anybody who missing a loved one,
10:06you could contact the Homicide Bureau in San Fernando
10:09on Coffey Street.
10:11I can't remember, 653-0495,
10:15and check them out if you have a missing person
10:18and you want to double-check or get a DNA test going,
10:22the body was fully clothed.
10:24Yes.
10:24So you know you could recognize the clothing.
10:27But please try and see if you could, you know,
10:30get some closure for yourself
10:31if it is your relative or friend who went missing.
10:34And then we had another, we had one,
10:38and I spoke about it earlier in Separia.
10:42We received a distress call from a stepdaughter of a pensioner,
10:47and he lived in Quarry Village, Separia.
10:50She lives in Eirene, and she said, you know,
10:53her father, her stepfather went missing
10:56and that they found the Kaina nearby road.
10:59So while we went down to search for him,
11:03once you find a car, we are around the car.
11:06But while we were searching around by the car,
11:09she called and said that the police met her, the home.
11:13The home was locked.
11:15It's really a shack.
11:17And they were able to, well, they broke it open.
11:20When they went in, they found the house in this array.
11:23Things are scattered all over.
11:25And this is the shack here down in,
11:28this is quarry trees in Separia.
11:32And they found there, and look, Whitney,
11:36just steady back there is the outhouse.
11:38So they found his body in the pit,
11:42in the outhouse pit,
11:44what is commonly referred to,
11:45and we know as a latrine pit.
11:48And his body was found down there.
11:51Of course, foul play is highly suspected in this case.
11:56Of course.
11:58And they tried to hide the body.
11:59And they tried to hide the body right there.
12:02But they stole some stuff.
12:04They stole a weed walker,
12:06his gas tank, and some other items,
12:08and they would have put it in his car
12:09and drove it off to another tree nearby
12:13and offloaded everything
12:16and left the car abandoned.
12:17And here it is.
12:19So that is what persons will do.
12:21So his name, I don't know if I'm the producer.
12:24Why would you take it right?
12:25Mr. Dennis Achagi.
12:27I'm seeing it reported that he was a cyclist,
12:31a well-known cyclist in South Trinidad.
12:33So condolences to his family.
12:36And, you know, it brings five to five,
12:39the amount of murders we would have had
12:41in Sipari in about a month and a half time,
12:45including that double homicide
12:47that occurred on the weekend.
12:49And then if we could move on quickly,
12:55we would have had a case of Kazim Hussein, producer.
13:03I don't know if we could be going on to that next.
13:06Kazim Hussein.
13:07Now, we did not find him,
13:09but we posted him as missing.
13:11He went missing on the 13th.
13:13Now, you know, I keep repeatedly talking about the elderly folks.
13:17Yes.
13:17Kazim displayed some bit of aggression on the morning
13:21that he went missing,
13:22grabbed the vehicle keys,
13:23which was our van keys,
13:26and he drove off.
13:27This is the vehicle he drove off.
13:29And a good Samaritan found him in the Freeport District.
13:35And I don't know if a producer wants to play the video.
13:39This is him.
13:41We don't know if we could get it.
13:43We don't have to go to here right now,
13:43but I'm happy that we were able to see that he's alive and well.
13:48And the good Samaritan took him up.
13:51And he was telling the gentleman
13:53that he had his sons and things living right in that area.
13:57And that was not true.
13:59And then he picked him up.
14:01He jumped out of the vehicle.
14:02He then picked him up again and said,
14:04Listen, is this for you?
14:04Because he was watching him to make sure he was okay.
14:06Yeah, he said,
14:06Let's go to the police station.
14:08And I just want to thank the gentleman publicly
14:13for this looking after Mr. Kazim Hussein.
14:17It took him all of,
14:18took him three hours.
14:20He did say the amount of time it took from him.
14:23But he looked after him well.
14:26Well, but obviously, Mr. Hussein is suffering
14:30from one of those aging disorders.
14:33And therefore, you know,
14:34I wanted to highlight it.
14:36This is what happens when they get out there.
14:38Now, I don't know if you saw a video
14:40that was circulating on social media.
14:42It was very disturbing.
14:43And it was an elderly gentleman
14:46who was watching himself in the mirror.
14:49Oh, yes, I saw that.
14:50And saying, you know,
14:51this man in the physical system.
14:52Yes, I saw that.
14:53I don't know if he called the authorities
14:54because it seems like he lived by himself.
14:56Yes, and he did call them.
14:57And he showed up.
14:57But it was almost like a joke.
15:00And that was really disturbing for me.
15:01But it wasn't a joke.
15:02Yeah.
15:02It wasn't a joke.
15:03I looked at the video
15:05and I realized
15:06he himself asked
15:07what are the laughing about.
15:09Yes.
15:09He was serious.
15:10And this comes about
15:11with aging disorders.
15:13There's a wide spectrum
15:14on the dementia spectrum.
15:17It's wide.
15:18And they have different types.
15:19And, you know,
15:20it progresses as you get older.
15:22And then we have
15:25Miss Phyllis Bihari.
15:27Now, she went missing
15:29on the 16th.
15:31That's five days ago.
15:32And Phyllis would have walked
15:35and used her truck
15:37behind her home.
15:39And for those,
15:40for an entire five-day period,
15:42she was walking in there.
15:44They found her.
15:45Some villagers found her today.
15:4745 minutes driving time
15:49from her home
15:51and 30 minutes
15:52walking inside
15:54off the road.
15:5630 minutes walking
15:57in the forest.
15:59They were on their way
16:00to see their garden.
16:02and they saw something
16:04resembling a dead body.
16:05And they were afraid
16:07and they called.
16:08Oh, apprehensive,
16:09I should use.
16:09They called out
16:10and thank God
16:11she responded.
16:12And they were able
16:13to bring her out
16:14severely dehydrated,
16:18barely alive.
16:19and she's currently
16:21at the Sangre Grandi hospital
16:25receiving attention.
16:27But, you know,
16:27it says a lot again.
16:29She's 60
16:30and she would have gotten lost
16:33and her mental health
16:36seems to be somewhat compromised.
16:38So, we urge families
16:40to pay attention
16:41and look for signs
16:42to see if you could,
16:43you know,
16:45pick up,
16:45pick up these
16:47little signs
16:48from the elderly
16:49to ensure,
16:50you know,
16:50that they remain safe
16:51and they don't go
16:52wandering
16:53and getting lost.
16:55And then,
16:55Mr. Kazim Hussein's case.
16:57I mean,
16:58the thing is,
16:58he's driving a valuable van.
17:01He could have easily.
17:04He made himself
17:05a soft target
17:06by driving off
17:08with the van
17:08and packing it up.
17:09A very soft target
17:11because that is valuable
17:13to somebody.
17:13He doesn't know
17:14where he was going.
17:15He was just driving.
17:16Just some information
17:19with regards
17:19to the incident
17:20that took place
17:21that I mentioned
17:22when we opened the show,
17:23the shooting at the gas station
17:24on Saturday,
17:25July 18th.
17:26Now,
17:27this was very disturbing,
17:28Captain,
17:29because,
17:29as we mentioned,
17:30this was a little
17:32after 9 in the morning
17:33and the persons
17:34running their errands
17:35and the type of weapons
17:39that was used.
17:41Yes,
17:41so the,
17:42most likely,
17:43AR-15 involved.
17:45It tells you
17:46that the gangs
17:47still have
17:48these automatic weapons
17:50in their possession
17:51and that they're
17:54seeking justice
17:57for themselves
17:58and this is why
18:00you call street justice
18:01for them
18:02and they don't care
18:03at all
18:04who's present,
18:05whether it's
18:06a gas station
18:07attendant
18:08or anything like that.
18:10It's powerful ammunition,
18:12I can tell you that.

18:15the bystander,
18:16who was
18:17on a live way
18:18send condolences
18:19to the family.

18:21a very difficult
18:22thing to lose
18:23a loved one
18:24in those circumstances.

18:26listen to what residents

18:31gas station
18:32incident.

19:11one-footed so badly.

19:14when it's a crime scene

46:07Now, there was an incident that I'm sure we are going to now see that Jackie will run
46:13now that took place in the Sidious area.
46:16And this was from the effects of the earthquake that took place in Venezuela.
46:20Yeah, both the 7.5 and 7.2.
46:22So, we were down there as a team in the Galfa area.
46:26And a gentleman who owns this home is under construction.
46:31He called me quietly and said, come, I want to show you something.
46:35And what has not come brought the public's attention.
46:38This is the first time anybody is seeing this, is the fact that there were houses that were
46:43affected by that earthquake.
46:45We thought initially that it was probably the mud volcano of Palo Seco as well as the Galfa
46:52uplift and nothing that is of value was affected.
46:55But here it is.
46:57This is the first images coming out from that area where the homeowner allowed me to film.
47:04And look at this where the, you know, severe structural damage to his home.
47:10And he was able to tell me that there are several others and that parts of the roadway
47:15were raised and already flattened by equipment.
47:20So, you know, I thought we'd bring this to the public's attention.
47:24Now, when you have this occurred, please report it to the authorities.
47:28And it will help the geologists, you know, in terms of to understand what happened.
47:36Whether, you know, it was the uplifting of the earth or whether it was a movement on a fault.
47:42But southwest Trinidad is heavily faulted.
47:46And, you know, it's an area that is vulnerable.
47:51And so we ask you to continue to report that.
47:54But what happened on the weekend is that we took about 30 geoscientists to continue their work on the
48:01Mud Island Volcano, Niels Volcano, we call it.
48:05This one here is in Galfa.
48:07Have you ever, have you gone to see it?

48:14And this is in Palosico where we went with, led by geologist Xavier Munan, who is the president.

48:40That it is important for our scientists to study the area and we went with them for protection.

48:47And as well as to learn as well that when these things occur, there are persons out there who go
48:53out there and conduct their studies.
48:54And this is Xavier.

49:02But this is a large section of the team walking the beach to go there.
49:05It was a 2.5 kilometer walk to get there.
49:09You know, some persons choose to bring their children.

49:14And they handled it well.
49:15But we're there to protect them and to ensure that they get to and from the area safely.
49:20So it was nice interacting with the geologists.
49:23Yes.
49:23It was amazing.
49:24And this is the Galfa uplift, right?
49:27And, you know, lots of visitors still.
49:31This is a raised area.
49:32It was once flat.
49:33And this video I filmed, I believe I filmed it, yeah, to show that down there, it was...

49:49So that's the sea level beyond where you're seeing somebody in the back there.
49:54And these three persons are standing where the entire thing lifted.
50:00And so it's about 50 feet above ground.
50:02And as you walk past another, I would say, 200 to 300 feet, it gets back as flat as that
50:11day.
50:11So the entire...
50:13The stones and rocks we're seeing there.
50:15All right.
50:15So let's discuss that.

50:17So they came, they were lifted from beneath the seabed with the lift, with the power of the lift.
50:26So it came through the sand?
50:28If, producer, you could go back to that black rock there that the gentleman is standing on.
50:34The beginning, yeah.

50:36That black rock there is probably about 60 million years old and probably came up from about 11,000 feet
50:43beneath the surface of the earth and shot through the sand.
50:47And this is what you're talking about, the power of an uplift, which gave rise to all our mountains in
50:55the world, including the Northern Range, the Central Range and the Southern Range.
50:59Captain, at any point in time, with your knowledge, we ever had water that was in that area where he's

51:58So, you know, it's an interesting thing.

52:21Now, I want to go back a little bit to the Cedrus house.
52:25That gentleman has to do over his entire home.
52:28Yes, it has to be.
52:29It has to be done over.
52:30And he spoke to me about that.
52:33And I told him to report it to the disaster management unit of the corporation.
52:39And see what assistance.
52:40I think they should be able to assist them, yeah.
52:41Yeah.
52:42Because I saw that same unit along with the government issuing disaster grants.
52:46Right.
52:46I think it was like 621,000 that they issued to persons.
52:50And I was in the Sangigrande area.
52:51So, yeah.
52:52He should definitely try to see if he could get some sort of assistance.

52:58He can't live in there.

52:59And anything could fall on him at any point in time.

53:02The property has to be demolished and restarted.

53:07And there are other houses, he told me, in the area that were affected.
53:10That's just so sad.
53:11So, this is the first time Trinidad and Tobago is building that they were actually impact on dwelling houses.

53:19And then I will contact Tima because of 5.2 with our epicenter, 20 kilometers northwest of Tobago.
53:27The epicenter is right there.
53:29Yes.
53:29Where the quake emerged.
53:33I will be on the phone with Tima as soon as I leave here.
53:36And if it is they need us, we will go across and help them to, you know, look at areas,
53:42you know, in case persons homes were damaged.
53:44And looked at, you know, any other damage that may have been done.

53:50Now, Captain, let's circle back a little bit with the elderly and those who are suffering with dementia or Alzheimer's.
53:59And the importance of persons, because I think we need to stress on it.
54:02And they are using, a lot of persons are using their platform in a negative way when it comes to,
54:10you know, making things a joke when it comes to the elderly.
54:13And it is really bothering me.
54:15Yeah.
54:15That, and you're going back to that video, it bothered me a lot.
54:18Because if I was there, I would have used a totally different approach.
54:24You have to have, you know, keep.
54:27I am like this.
54:28I could be talking to anybody and my facial structure doesn't change.

54:56Remember, these are persons who would have served Trinidad and Tobago well, worked hard in different capacities.
55:04And now they are in the twilight of their life.
55:07We have to take care of them and understand where they're coming from.

55:11And take, for instance, a cyclist down in Separiot.

55:15A man would have cycled maybe for Trinidad and Tobago, a very popular cyclist.
55:20He works hard.
55:22And he works PH for the car.
55:25He works hard even at 75 until you lose your life, you know, being murdered for a weed walker and
55:31a gas tank.
55:32It's crazy.
55:32It's crazy craziness.
55:33So, we need to pay attention to the elderly.
55:36And persons in the community, if you know that an elderly person may be living on their own, at least
55:41check up on them.
55:42Yeah.
55:43And make sure that, you know, they are seen.

55:48Even though some of them may not know that because of what mental issue that they may be faced with
55:54at this point in time,
55:55I think it's important that we try our best to assist.
55:58Because one day you will be, not saying mentally in that position, but of age.
