03:28and every time rain falls I almost get a panic attack because I know a lot of vehicles will be
03:35getting some water
03:36that will be placed in their vehicles and I can imagine the inconvenience that you'll be faced with

04:31and on Friday night, reports of two men in the Fisabad area were allegedly beaten to death
04:37and thousands at the Queen's Park, Savannah, again, was able to witness something great
04:44and the reason why I'm bringing this back up again because the gentleman who's joining me right now

05:17the western areas of Trinidad to get some, what you call, build-up of clouds during the day
05:22and it will fall, and you should be accustomed to these heavy downpours.
05:27What I saw on the television a while ago didn't please me, please dispose of your garbage.
05:33And you spoke about the coming together of the two young artists, their Plumpy Boss and Kima and Adam.
05:41You know, I always believe in young people, and no matter what it is,
05:45the young ones who have to unite and get rid of all this gang rivalry and the Port of Spain,
05:52be in love with B. Tam and Silots and all these other areas.
05:56The country wants that, and please continue to try your best.
06:01But it was good, it was good, it was touching to see.

06:40Now, let's get straight into what we have been seeing on social media
06:44with some drownings that took place.
06:46Yeah, we had two drownings, one in Tobago yesterday.
06:50Well, the body was recovered yesterday, and from all appearances,
06:54it looks as if the gentleman would have got himself into some difficulty
07:00around the Pigeon Point, No Man's Land area.
07:04It was first sighted by one of the tour boats, and they contacted the coast guard there, and they had
07:09to go to retrieve the money.
07:10And from all that is circulating, it may be an issue of, you know, intoxication, but nevertheless, we want to
07:18extend our condolences on behalf of Beyond the Tape to his family, I understand.
07:23And his name is Ravi Silochan, age 45, from Bonacord in Tobago, and he's estranged from his wife.
07:30But nevertheless, there are four children, and he is living by his ex-mother.
07:34She takes care of him.
07:36I read where she said, he's a nice gentleman.
07:39His only problem may be that, his only problem may be alcohol-related.
07:45But, you know, it's a sad way to lose your life, and I'm wondering whether, in fact, he had friends,
07:49and whether, in fact, they knew where he went missing.
07:53Yes, yes.
07:53And so it's a sad, really a sad situation.
07:55Then in Miaro, we had a young male went missing, well, got into difficulty, and his body was retrieved.
08:03But the strange thing about this, and I could confirm this, that his parents were not there, or his relatives
08:09were not there.
08:11He is from Arima, that's what I was told by the police.
08:15His body was tagged as a John Doe.
08:17Yes.
08:17As a John Doe.
08:18So I guess overnight they would have taken it to Arima, where probably, and tried to locate his parents for
08:26them to do the official identification.
08:28And there was one other incident, I forgot to send the information to our producer, Jackie, and that is the
08:35Trinan-Tabago Regiment.
08:38Yesterday, they went in, they were in the Blanchi-Shares area, and they were able to rescue five persons who
08:44were in difficulty while bathing in the Blanchi-Shares area.
08:48But let me tell you about Miaro.
08:52So I had a friend who was close by when the victim was recovered, and he said the sea was
08:57smooth.
08:57And for persons watching, now is it time to take your children to the beach.
09:01The sea is calm.
09:03We have no issues with the sea whatsoever.
09:05The seaweed was an issue.
09:07And the sea was calm yesterday in Miaro throughout the entire East Coast.
09:12And then Blanchi-Shares is a different problem.
09:15The shores are steep.
09:17And therefore, no matter what time of the year in Blanchi-Shares, once the tide is coming in, you're going
09:22to get a rough sea.
09:25But you have to know Blanchi-Shares to bead.
09:28And the safest thing to do in any beach is bead by any height.

09:34So it was unfortunate over the weekend that we had two drownings and five being rescued from bead-in and
09:42getting into difficulty.
09:43Now, condolences going on to all the families who lost someone in those incidents that happened over the weekend.
09:50And you mentioned Arima.
09:51So at this time, let's set Arima because over the weekend, we saw a shooting incident that took place.
09:56And we don't know the full details, but sometimes you just have to avoid situations if an argument ensues.
10:03And we're seeing here where things just started to escalate and two persons were killed in this incident.
10:11And again, look at persons moving around here.
10:14The place is lit.
10:16And this is a brazen attack.
10:21And unfortunately, two persons got killed.
10:27Condolences go out to the family.
10:29At this angle, you can see the brazenness of the attack because the gentleman in black there or shooting wildly.
10:38It is clear when individuals are coming for whoever their target person or persons are, they tend to not care
10:47who's around.
10:48No, they don't care.
10:49But in fact, they use the persons as cover, right?
10:51To get close to the person.
10:52But, you know, it will be interesting to hear from those residents, you're seeing businesses around, you know, what they
10:58think about this situation.
11:00But obviously, these young men, you know, using the power of a gun, the advantage of a gun, they just
11:07create me him on our streets.
11:09The persons just want to be out and enjoy themselves.
11:12And again, persons are numb when you notice, the persons in the video, when they're shooting up on the opposite
11:18side of everybody bar, they were very nonchalant.

11:22Probably desensitized about these type of violent crimes.

13:56We want persons to know that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service wishes to advise members of the public
14:02that there will be temporary traffic disruptions and parking restrictions in the vicinity of the Queen's Park Savannah
14:09to facilitate rehearsals for the 64th Independence Day celebration.
14:17Now, the traffic restrictions will be in effect on Tuesday, the 25th of August,
14:22and Friday, the 20th of August between the hours of 9.15 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.
14:29Now, motorists are asked to exercise caution, plan their journeys in advance,
14:34and cooperate with police officers who will be deployed to manage traffic flow
14:39and ensure the safety of all road users.
14:43So, just so you know, please, persons in the vicinity of the Queen's Park Savannah East
14:48are encouraged to use alternative routes, and that is the Maraval Roundabout may continue along the Queen's Park East
14:55towards Lady Young Road or utilize the Griffith Morris Link Road,
14:59then proceed on to Belmont Circular Road, turn left on to Observatory Street,
15:07and continue on to Charlotte Street.

38:26It's 600 feet long and so the children came and they gladly interacted with our team in terms of understanding
38:35the history.
38:36We had a fun time with them.
38:38They were even able to see a red-tailed ball constrictor.

38:45So I think we would show a video of the actual tunnel.
38:49But this is me on top of the explaining to them the history and everything.

38:58But because it's dark, you have a lot of bats and cockroaches in it.

39:03And you have to walk through it.

39:19This is where we were able to spot a snake on the side.
39:23So the children were even more excited to see that.
39:27Snakes, so we showed them how you just, you know, allow the snake to go on its way.
39:32And it retreated.

39:35It's suitable in that environment.
39:37So we just allowed it to go its way.
39:40And this is us walking through the tunnel on the way back.
39:44And it's dark, yes.

39:48I was able to indicate to them while walking, pay attention.
39:53So you see some, I don't know how you call it, Whitney.
39:55I saw those big cockroaches.
39:58Like from Men in Black?

40:28And, you know, it's just amazing that we could still walk through a tunnel that was built probably 128 years
40:35ago and still standing strong there.
40:38So it was an exciting trip for the young ones.
40:41And they enjoyed the picnic areas on top of the tunnel where you could go and have your lunch and
40:47stuff.
40:47And they refurbished the washroom facilities.
40:50So we had an exciting time with them.
40:52So, Captain, if persons want to venture on this, you know, experience, they should go again with someone who has
41:00the knowledge of his space.
41:02Yeah, who has the knowledge and who has, you know, an idea of the history and then somebody who could
41:08give them a good tour.
41:08There's more white roaches.

41:11Why are they white?
41:12I don't know.
41:13It's a type that I haven't seen.

41:16It could have been that they adapted to the environment there and evolved over the years.
41:20But I'm not, I haven't seen white, large cockroaches in Trinidad as large as these.
41:28And while we were walking, you know, I was telling them, just don't walk.
41:31You must, you must, you must be, you must at least take a good look around and identify things in
41:37the, in the, in the environment.
41:39So, while we were there, I would have spotted a movement and knew that there was a snake there.
41:47Right?
41:48Right where they are walking.
41:49No, just behind the tunnel.

41:51So, the thing is, I was teaching them to pay attention to their environment, pay, pay attention to detail while
41:58in the environment.
41:59So, they would have passed those white cockroaches and gone without looking.
42:05Why they weren't moving?
42:06What, the cockroaches?
42:08Well, they, they, they, of course, the light would have kept them trapped there.

42:12So, they would probably, so, lots of cockroaches in all these down here.

42:22Yeah, you see, you see, you see, you see, the stark contrast in the color now.
42:25You see, the normal small roaches as well as the big white ones.
42:28It's good to go out there with me and explore.

42:38So, the roaches that are there, is it because of the said environment or is it because persons are littering
42:47causing people?
42:48No, no, so you have bats, so the ecosystem has been built in there.
42:51So, you have bats, you have bat droppings on the ground, right?
42:54It's spongy.
42:55And the cockroaches now, the bat droppings will create worms, right?
43:02And therefore, the cockroaches will be able to feed on the worms.
43:06So, it's an ecosystem that was built in the tunnel and that is what happened in species, any part of
43:13the world.
43:13Any, any little space is always an ecosystem building.
43:20Right?
43:20So, it's a food chain there, part of the ecosystem, prey versus predator.
43:26Is the excitement kept with you?
43:28Huh?

43:34There's nobody there who was scared, they're running in the tunnel.

45:02We had a rescue of a snake in a garage in the Palm East Village, Central Trinidad.
45:10And there is a member out there with assistance.
45:14And when we go around, we teach the guys around who were initially scared of the snake.

45:21Now, I will tell you this.
45:23Because we are out there holding them, people will call.
45:26They have an option now.
45:28Normally, these things would have been destroyed.
45:31You get a whole steel, a whole shovel, a whole fork and bang it on its head and kill it
45:35and dispose of it.
45:36We are happy that people are calling us to, you know, relocate them.
45:40And so, we will ensure that we make ourselves available.
45:44Now, a snake like this, they don't have poultry.
45:48There is no sign of rodents around or anything like that.
45:52There was rain.
45:53And so, therefore, the red-tailed bow constrictor would have been trying to get out of the rain.
45:59And he found a nice cozy spot behind a sheet of fly that was leaned against the wall in the
46:06garage.
46:08So, pay attention to how you put your things around your home.
46:12Cozy spots.
46:12And always remember when lifting things to check to see if, you know, one of our friendly guys are there.
