00:00Connor Hughes is now saying the Jaguars are entertaining offers for Brian Thomas Jr.
00:04They did it this last deadline and then didn't pull the trade.
00:07It seems like the Jags are more interested in making a move this time of year.
00:13I would imagine the Browns were in it in October for Brian Thomas Jr.
00:17I'd imagine they'd still be in on this as well.
00:20I like Brian Thomas Jr. a lot.
00:22Now, if I was one of these teams that had the spots open the way the Browns do,
00:27and I'd take this for whatever it's worth,
00:29Brian Thomas Jr. looked the best with Mac Jones.
00:31The year that he popped off, that was more Mac Jones than it was Trevor Lawrence.
00:35And so it wouldn't surprise me if they actually moved Brian Thomas Jr.
00:39if it's to a team that eventually ends up with Mac Jones as well.
00:42So I'm a little torn on this because I think how people felt about Marvin Harrison Jr.,
00:49about it go all out to get Marvin Harrison Jr.,
00:53I think Brian Thomas has been a much more productive player the last two years.
00:57I also think it falls under the line of the guy who's the GM now isn't the guy that drafted
01:03him.
01:04That's always a kind of potential game changer there.
01:07That said, he's had almost 2,000 yards in two touchdowns, or 12 touchdowns, excuse me, 13 total in two
01:15years.
01:16Teams don't move off these guys unless there's a reason,
01:20and the Jags have been thinking about moving off of Brian Thomas since before even last year,
01:26where there were rumors that last year's combine they might trade him.
01:29That's a very curious thing.
01:31These guys don't become available.
01:33Just look at how much Alec Pierce, a guy who, again, has not had a season yet capable of what
01:38Brian Thomas did as a rookie,
01:41that, like, look what he got on the open market.
01:44It's just a very curious reason on why this guy's available.
01:47Yeah, for myself, I do wonder just how much of it is the idea that with Trevor Lawrence, even year
01:52one,
01:52it just didn't work the same way.
01:54Like, he put up all his numbers with Mac Jones.
01:56And so, like, is this Trevor Lawrence being like, hey, we did the whole season with him even?
01:59Like, we're just, we're not on the same page.
02:02And he built off this big Pro Bowl, awesome rookie season, and a lot of that was with somebody that
02:06wasn't me.
02:07Now, if I was Trevor Lawrence, I'd be like, wait, why does it work with Mac and not me?
02:11I'd try to maybe figure that out first, but maybe that's some of the thinking.
02:15I think you had said you would have given up 39 for Marvin Harrison Jr.
02:20Would you give up 39 for Brian Thomas Jr.?
02:22Yeah, I would.
02:22Yeah.
02:22I think he's a better player than anyone you're going to get at 39 in this draft, from a wide
02:26receiver standpoint.
02:27So, I think if you could tell me that you got Brian Thomas Jr. for pick 39,
02:33and you could trade, whether it's even a future, whatever.
02:36If you find a way to get Mac Jones here, I would think you have a really good chance of
02:40being in that 500 mix next year.
02:43Yeah, especially with the schedule and the way everything looks like it's going to set up for the Browns.
02:46Now, we've got to talk about the compensation for Mac Jones attached to this as well.
02:50It's just a unique little different wrinkle to all this.
02:53I just am not buying that Mac Jones is going for a second-round pick.
02:56I'm just not.
02:57The 49ers can say it all they want, and maybe if you do send him Dylan, that's been something I've
03:02been trying to do now for a couple weeks.
03:03Maybe that changes there.
03:05Yeah.
03:05But, yeah, I wouldn't even give up a third-rounder for Mac Jones.
03:09Yeah.
03:09It'll be interesting to see where it all settles.
03:11So, these are some of the – the Boye Mafé is going to Cincinnati.
03:15They also signed Brian Cook, a safety from the Chiefs today.
03:19It looks to me like the Bengals are trying to recreate their 2000 – I think it's 2021 free agent
03:27class,
03:27where they signed DJ Reader, Von Bell, and Trey Hendrickson.
03:30And that was the backbone of a good enough defense to go to the Super Bowl with Joe Burrow in
03:35two AFC title games.
03:36It feels like they're doing that again, like, you know, kind of on-the-come kind of players,
03:41but guys who maybe aren't truly elite players yet.
03:45I mean, they have to make moves.
03:46Like, the defense, it can't be what it was last year.
03:49And now it's been three years without making the postseason with Joe Burrow, and there's been injuries there.
03:53But if Joe Burrow looks up at the end of the season, and he once again thinks to himself,
03:58this is the defense.
03:59We have a great offense.
04:00This defense is failing us.
04:02Then we talked earlier about whether or not he'd get traded to the Rams this offseason.
04:06Like, at some point, you've got to say uncle if you're Joe Burrow.
04:08Now, while we are on the topic of the Cleveland Browns here,
04:11there was an interesting tweet this weekend that then somehow got into Browns Twitter fighting with Ben Albright again,
04:19which is, of the many things, the many things that I will go to bat for,
04:25I like both of these entities, and I like when they feud.
04:29So are you in on Ben Albright or no?
04:31He's always been very nice to me.
04:33I'm sure he's been very nice to you.
04:34I don't have, like, a personal relationship with him, but he was always, any of our dealings was very nice.
04:37I'm sure he's been very nice, but do you trust his reporting is the question of the heart of this?
04:42I don't really trust anyone's reporting, but I trust him probably as much as most guys.
04:45Okay, that's fair.
04:46He does seem to be pretty clued in, even if he's not 100% right.
04:49So, like, I know he's got connections.
04:51That part I've never debated or argued.
04:53I just don't know how deep they go, and I don't know, I just don't know how accurate they always
04:58are.
04:59So this actually started with Joe Banner, of all people, tweeting.
05:05Man, somebody needs to get that guy away from Twitter.
05:06I think this is his retirement job.
05:08I think he's enjoying it quite a bit.
05:10Like, some people are, like, starters at golf courses.
05:12He just tweets.
05:13Yeah.
05:13And rage baits people.
05:14In fairness, his time spent on Facebook would be a lot more unbearable.
05:19So let's keep it on Twitter.
05:20Yeah, but probably where a lot of the people should be living if they want to just be like,
05:24hey, instead of getting a job, I just want to say my thoughts on the internet.
05:27That's what Facebook is for.
05:28This all starts because the Yahoo Sports had aggregated the Bleacher Report.
05:35And there were multiple Bleacher Report reporters talking about Miles Garrett trades over the weekend.
05:40And so Joe Banner had tweeted this out saying, how many clickbait Garrett stories can you write
05:46before you have no credibility left?
05:49Yeah.
05:49And then Ben Albright tweeted in response, I mean, in fairness, the team hasn't been able to get a hold
05:55of Miles
05:55since the Munkin, not Schwartz hire.
05:59I don't really know how much to put into this.
06:01I know various people in Cleveland Twitter have said they've talked to Todd Munkin directly
06:07or heard it from him that this is not true.
06:09Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:10I do think it's really interesting that this is something that somebody's heard that's pretty damn well connected.
06:14I mean, I just don't know why Ben Albright would make it up.
06:17It's not that I believe it necessarily, but who knows?
06:22But I don't know why Ben Albright would make it up.
06:24That's the part that's confusing to me.
06:25I don't know that I trust Ben Albright completely either as the other side of this as established,
06:29but I just don't know what he's got to gain in making it up outside of maybe people thinking he's
06:33important
06:33for a couple seconds, but he doesn't need to do that.
06:35I also go to the level of like, okay, would Miles be pissed about where the Browns are?
06:42But would he be pissed about not hiring Schwartz though?
06:44So I think it's, would he be upset about the Schwartz thing?
06:47That's the question I would have.
06:47And Miles has said, I'm happy to be here.
06:50I just don't want to rebuild.
06:52Well, I don't know if we, the Browns have been, you know, this has been referred to as a transition
06:57year
06:57after another transition year.
06:59Miles is smart enough to know that two transition years in a row means you are rebuilding.
07:05So I don't want to say I couldn't put it past him.
07:08I would understand if Miles was disappointed at where the Browns were going to have to go this year
07:12to eventually hopefully get the quarterback in 2027.
07:15So like, it makes sense that Miles would not be pleased with where the Browns are,
07:19which lines up with what maybe Ben is putting out there.
07:22Well, and I do wonder at what point does Miles, is he just trying to wait till further and later
07:26in the season to then try to make whatever point he wants to make too.
07:29Like, so if he waits until the summer, he can kind of do what TJ Watt did last year,
07:33where it hits with a little bit more thump, or maybe he's trying to steal something
07:36out of Micah Parsons' playbook where you wait right until training camp,
07:39and then all of a sudden you get convos going, and that's where action happens.
07:41And by the way, door C is that Miles is not happy with where the Browns are,
07:48but a year after the trade request, he's got a second Defensive Player of the Year award.
07:52He's got his $40 million a year.
07:54Maybe he can be happy not being happy.
07:57I think that's another part of this, of just like,
07:59ah, maybe he's using a cool-off period, and maybe that's kind of where we are.
08:03Like, I don't know how much more leverage Miles has a year later,
08:07even if you trade him post-June 1, and I think it actually ends up
08:10that you end up saving money over the next couple of years.
08:12Is it lame to also suggest he just maybe wants to live life for a little bit
08:15and doesn't care about necessarily responding to every text and call
08:18and tweet and everything?
08:19Also fair.
08:20Like his fiancée or girlfriend, whichever they are at this point,
08:23did they get engaged?
08:25I don't know that they actually got engaged.
08:26I'm not trying to put that on a man.
08:28What?
08:29Engaged, not engaged.
08:31I don't.
08:31I'm just happy they're in love.
08:32But anyway, she was in the Olympics a month ago.
08:34You know what I mean?
08:35And he was gone, and he was obviously taking photos and doing all that stuff.
08:38And so, I don't know.
08:40Does he need to check in with the Browns every single second?
08:42Well, no, but this is the time of the year
08:43that when Baker wouldn't return people's calls got Baker traded.
08:46No, that was November.
08:48Really?
08:48That was during the season.
08:49I thought it was during the actual, like, the offseason as well.
08:53During the season is when he stopped taking Haslam's calls.
08:56Well, that's when everybody should stop taking his calls.
08:58And then obviously after the season is when he stopped taking Stefanski's calls
09:01because he didn't have to see Stefanski every day.
09:02So, that was what it was.
09:03But, like, well, yeah, like, that first started during the season.
