00:00Hi there.
00:01The fine spell of weather continues for most of us out there today, and whilst not quite
00:04as warm as it has been of late, it will still feel pleasant in the sunshine.
00:09So high pressure continues to dominate the UK.
00:11It has just allowed a weak weather front just to push into the very far north-west of Scotland,
00:16bringing a little bit more on the way of a thicker cloud here and a few spots of rain.
00:19And where winds have been lightest across England and Wales, we have seen some fog patches
00:23through the course of this morning, and we still have a few areas of mist and murk across
00:26parts of Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, into the West Midlands and across parts of East Anglia.
00:30So a few spots may well stay a little bit grey into the first part of this afternoon, but
00:35for most of England and Wales, southern Scotland and Northern Ireland, it's looking like being
00:39a glorious afternoon, plenty of sunshine, and even though the sunshine will be a little
00:44bit hazy at times, it will feel pleasant enough.
00:47The winds will be light for most of us, a little bit breezier across the very far north-west
00:51of Scotland.
00:52Here, as I say, quite a bit cloudy with a few spots of rain in places.
00:56It will also be a little bit breezier across the very far south-east of England, so pegging
01:00back temperatures here down, well, no better than around 10 to 12 degrees for some of us,
01:04so a little bit cooler compared to of late.
01:07The highest temperatures across north-west England, Wales and the south-west, where we
01:10could see locally highs up to 17, perhaps even 18 degrees.
01:15It does mean, underneath the clear skies, that temperatures will fall away quite quickly
01:19tonight.
01:20But across Scotland and Northern Ireland, that will only be fairly brief, because we have got
01:23this cold front pushing its way south-eastwards as we go through the next 24 hours, so bringing
01:28a spell of slightly windier weather and also some rain for some of us as we go into Sunday.
01:33But notice down across the south-east, the weather front doesn't really get here until
01:36later in the weekend, so for most, it will stay largely dry.
01:40But back to this evening, and underneath those clearing skies, across England and Wales, temperatures
01:44will fall away quite quickly, so it will turn into another cold night.
01:48In the countryside, we'll see some fog patches developing, and also a fairly widespread frost.
01:53The fog's most likely across south-west England tonight, parts of Wales, and again, up across
01:57parts of the Midlands and into north-east England, so here we could see some fairly locally dense
02:02patches of fog by the morning.
02:04Further north and west, after a chilly evening, skies will cloud over across Scotland and Northern
02:08Ireland, and we will see some outbreaks of rain pushing in through the early hours.
02:12There's most of the rain quite light, but some more heavier and persistent rain across the
02:16very far north-west of Scotland later in the night.
02:19Here it will turn quite windy, but with winds switching to a southerly direction, or south-westly,
02:24then actually temperatures won't fall very far.
02:26It will be a frost-free night across Scotland and Northern Ireland, lows here of around 5 to
02:307 degrees.
02:32So across England and Wales, it should be a bright start to the day for many of us on Sunday.
02:37Once again, there will be some fog patches, and these may well linger for most of the morning
02:40raining in a few spots, but for most, it will be fine with some hazy spells of sunshine,
02:45this lasting longest across the very far south-east.
02:48Further north and west, we have got this weather front sinking its way south-eastward, so a cloudier
02:52spell for northern England, Wales, the Midlands and south-west England, with some rain for
02:57a time for some of us.
02:58But skies brightening across Scotland and Northern Ireland, a mixture of sunny spells and a few
03:03showers here.
03:04The showers mostly, though, are across the north and the west of Scotland, where there will
03:07be some heavy ones around, perhaps some hail and some sleet mixed in with those showers,
03:12even down to quite low levels, and turning colder through the afternoon, so some hill
03:16snow developing.
03:18Definitely a fresher day to come here, and in those blustery winds across the very far
03:21north of Scotland, it will feel particularly cold, winds gusting into the 40s of miles per
03:26hour at least.
03:27But for most, temperatures will be, again, between around 12 and 15 degrees, so a little bit above
03:32average for the time of year.
03:35Through tomorrow evening, then, that weather front pushes its way and continues into the
03:39south of the UK.
03:40A little bit of patchy light rain in places, but not amounting to very much at all, and
03:44skies will clear across more northern parts of Britain, so expecting more in a way of frost
03:49and potentially some icy patches as we begin the day on Monday.
03:52But for most, the new working week starts largely dry and bright, some fog across parts of England
03:58and Wales first thing, though later on Monday we will see it turn wet and windy in western
04:03parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
04:05So a sign of a more changeable week of weather to come, and there are signs that it's going
04:09to turn briefly much colder by the middle of the week for all of us.
