00:00Hi there, very slow moving weather patterns during the next few days, very slow moving
00:05area of high pressure which is currently sitting just to the north west of the UK, blocking
00:11more changeable Atlantic weather from returning for the time being, keeping things dry for
00:17most of us but with our weather coming around the high from the north west we do have a
00:22lot of cloud into the north and the east first thing and some light showers for parts of
00:27Northern Ireland especially to the north and the west and northern parts of Scotland, the
00:32odd shower into the east of England as well. Through the day the cloud tends to lift and
00:36break and many of these light showers become more scattered but they'll continue for the
00:40likes of Shetland, Orkney, North West Highlands, the Western Isles as well as the north coast
00:45of Northern Ireland. Elsewhere across the country brighter spells emerging, plenty of sunshine
00:50for many although not for all we do see a lot of cloud across parts of northern and central
00:56England. So that's going to keep temperatures around the low to mid 20s where that happens
01:00but where we see the best of the sunshine, South Wales, South West England, temperatures
01:04reaching 26 or 27 Celsius. Very similar if not a degree higher compared with Monday's values
01:11and always feeling that bit cooler where we've got the north westerly coming into the north
01:14and west of Scotland and Northern Ireland, 19 Celsius or so. Overnight, very slow changes if
01:21anything we see the cloud come and go, variable amounts of it and we'll continue to see those
01:27light showers into the north of Scotland, one or two for Northern Ireland, otherwise it's
01:31a dry and in places clear night but whether you've got the clear skies or the cloud, temperatures
01:36mostly holding up into the teens in urban areas. But in rural spots, a bit of shelter from
01:44the wind, clear skies, those temperatures dipping into the single figures. It's actually a fresh feel
01:49overnight, a more comfortable night for sleeping than many nights we've experienced so far this
01:54summer. And then we start the day with plenty of fine weather once again, a good deal of
01:58sunshine for England and Wales, especially towards the South and South West. There's area of cloud,
02:02perhaps more extensive compared with Tuesday, pushing southwards into the Midlands, into the
02:07South and South East at times as well. Again, light blue there indicating the odd light shower
02:12into East Anglia. More frequent showers coming to the Northern Scotland but again, mostly light
02:18accumulating for the North West Highlands, 5 to 10, perhaps 15 millimetres at most. And
02:24for those parts of the UK where rain is desperately needed, barely a drop expected, not just through
02:31Tuesday or Wednesday but for much of the week ahead. So that high pressure, keeping things
02:37generally fine and with more bearable temperatures arguably for many places, a fine summer's day.
02:44However, those areas that do need the rain are unfortunately going to see another day without
02:50any substantial wet weather and little sign of significant rainfall in the forecast for those
02:58rain-starved regions, at least until the weekend, if not beyond, even if it does turn a bit more
