00:00Hello there, good afternoon. Welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Lots of
00:04fine weather to come this weekend. Not feeling quite as warm as it has done this week. There
00:09will be some spots of rain but probably not enough to wet up the ground as much as we
00:14need it to. We've got a northerly wind which will be fairly brisk at times. This will drag
00:18in some cloud, this thick enough to produce some very light rain across eastern areas
00:22of Scotland, eastern England. The best of the brightness is likely going to be across
00:27southern parts of England and Wales. Plenty of sunshine here, but elsewhere a bit of
00:31a mix of cloud and also some sunny spells. There's still a quite good split in temperatures,
00:37still rather warm in the southwest. Not quite as hot as recent days but we could still see
00:41temperatures around 27, 28 degrees Celsius here. But markedly cooler around some eastern coast,
00:47between 16 and 20 degrees here. Probably feeling that northerly breeze if you're sat by the coast
00:53this afternoon. But for most not feeling quite as warm and if anything it's probably a far more
00:58pleasant heat for this afternoon. Now don't forget even if it's not quite as hot and there's a bit
01:03of cloud around, the UV levels can still be high. So don't forget your sunglasses, your hat and of
01:08course your sun cream. Now to finish off the day, some hit or miss showers just bubbling up across
01:14southern parts of Wales. They're drifting to southern parts of England, fairly hit and miss so only a few of
01:19us might notice them. They might bring some heavy downpours and also some thunder. But actually a
01:24lot of the cloud and the light rain clears overnight. Plenty of clear spells and actually
01:28turning rather chilly across Scotland, northern parts of England and rural spots under the clearest
01:33skies. We could get down to the low single figures, maybe around freezing, bringing us some grass frost
01:39in places, something we've not seen for a long while. But most towns and cities in the high single
01:44figures or around 12 to 14 degrees, still fairly warm across southern parts of Wales and southwest
01:50England. Now Sunday brings lots more sunshine for many areas, probably less cloud compared to what
01:57we'll see this afternoon. Some very light spots of rain just pushing into northern parts of Scotland
02:03towards the end of the day. Also once again some showers just starting to bubble up across parts of
02:08Devon and Cornwall later. Some heavy downpours and maybe some thunder, but they will probably be
02:14quite isolated. And for many it's another dry day, slightly warmer compared to what we'll have this
02:20afternoon. Temperatures widely in the low to mid 20s. Southern parts of Scotland also seeing a slightly
02:25warmer day. Lots of sunshine though to finish off the weekend. Now obviously it has been very dry
02:32recently, all thanks to this rather large area of high pressure which has sat to the west of us
02:37very much stopping any fronts from coming through. So there's no real sign of any significant rain
02:43in the forecast. It's still going to be dry and very settled. So not much rain to come, but of
02:49course
