00:00Hi there.
00:01A cooler and fresher weekend for much of the UK, but otherwise very little difference.
00:06The weather stays dry and mostly sunny, not entirely sunny, but mostly sunny as this beast
00:12of a high pressure continues to dominate the weather.
00:15Remember, this came up from the south at the start of last week.
00:18It's still with us, albeit in a different position for this weekend.
00:22And its different position towards the northwest of the UK will help allow fresher air to come
00:28in around the eastern flank of it.
00:30We've already seen that through Friday.
00:32With some low cloud in the north and the east, that continues into the night and the wind
00:37coming in around the eastern flank of the high will continue to increase the cloud in the
00:43sky across parts of Northern Ireland, Northern and Eastern Scotland, Northern and Eastern
00:46England.
00:47Clear spells further southwest.
00:49And under those clear skies, still a warm night to come for parts of Wales and central
00:55southern England, temperatures here 16 to 18 Celsius.
00:59But a much cooler night for Scotland, for Eastern England and in some parts of Scotland, sheltered
01:05parts with clear skies, temperatures dipping into the mid-single figures or so.
01:11Now we'll see that cloud in the north of Scotland and Eastern England first thing Saturday, it'll
01:15bring some light showers as well.
01:17It'll be thick enough for some outbreaks of rain, nothing substantial however.
01:20And generally through the day, that cloud lifting enough so that the showers tend to fizzle out
01:26by the afternoon.
01:27Still areas of cloud around however, and for some parts of the Midlands, Wales, central southern
01:32England for example, more cloud in the sky compared with much of the week so far.
01:36And just like Friday evening, there'll be one or two showers popping up, most likely over
01:41the Welsh mountains.
01:43These could then drift southwards through Saturday evening.
01:46You'll see some clouds sticking around for the east coast of England, northern Scotland.
01:51And certainly with this onshore breeze, it's going to feel really quite cool on the coast,
01:56mid to high teens.
01:58Inland, low 20s widely, but still the potential for 26, 27, perhaps 28 Celsius somewhere like
02:06the West Country, South Wales.
02:08Not quite as high, a few degrees lower compared with the week so far however.
02:12And lower humidities as well, making it feel, I guess, more comfortable.
02:18Here are those showers across Wales, they tend to work their way southwards.
02:21Very hit and miss, very isolated and unlikely to deliver the useful substantial rainfall that
02:28a lot of people are crying out for at the moment.
02:31And that theme continues through the rest of the weekend and much of next week.
02:35A bit more cloud coming into Scotland, Northern Ireland overnight.
02:38And actually, an even cooler night across the board on Saturday night into Sunday.
02:43Could even get a touch of air frost for sheltered parts of Scotland, for example.
02:48Low to mid single figures for Northern and Central England.
02:50So, a much more comfortable night for sleeping.
02:53A chilly night in places, but widely dry and bright to start things off on Sunday.
02:58In fact, a sunnier day for many compared with Saturday.
03:02We've still got some cloud coming into the east of England.
03:05And then the cloud thickens once again into the north and northwest of Scotland to bring
03:08some showery rain by the end of Sunday afternoon.
03:11Otherwise, we keep the sunny skies.
03:13Always a chance of a shower or two popping up over the southwest, perhaps Bodmin or Exmoor.
03:18But, look at the temperatures.
03:20We're still talking widely low to mid-20s.
03:23Still above average, but only just in places and a little below average, I suspect, in the
03:28north and the east.
03:30Very little changes through much of next week.
03:33High pressure remains very close to the UK, albeit shifted out to the northwest.
03:38So, that's going to block any significant rain from coming in from the Atlantic.
03:42Always a chance of a shower or two each day.
03:44A bit of cloud here and there.
03:46And it's not going to be as hot next week as last week.
03:48But temperatures rising a touch by the middle of the week.
03:51As always, much more on our YouTube channel.
03:53Bye bye.
