00:00Good morning and welcome to yet another dry week across the UK.
00:05Now, for some of us, there will be a little bit of light rain around through the course of this
00:08morning,
00:09particularly across Northern Ireland, northern and eastern parts of Scotland,
00:11and some light showers will work their way southwards through the North Sea,
00:15affecting parts of northeast England and the Wash.
00:17But by this afternoon, these will generally have died away,
00:19so it will be pretty much an entirely dry story by this afternoon.
00:23The best of the sunshine, generally speaking, across mainland parts of Scotland, Wales,
00:27Western England and especially the southwest,
00:29where once again we'll see temperatures climb into the mid-20s,
00:33so it will feel very warm in that strong July sunshine.
00:36But overall, compared to over the weekend, somewhat cloudier and a little bit cooler as well,
00:41particularly across more northeastern parts of England.
00:43Temperatures struggling a little bit here, so no better than around 18 or 19 degrees,
00:47perhaps, in some coastal spots, and temperatures largely similar or down compared to yesterday.
00:53But winds will be light, so where you do see that sunshine break through the cloud,
00:56it will still feel pretty warm.
00:59Now, as you go through this evening, plenty of late evening sunshine,
01:01particularly for southern parts of Scotland, northern England, Wales and the west.
01:06But there will still be the chance of one or two light showers,
01:08mainly in North Sea coastal regions,
01:10and perhaps some longer spells of light rain and drizzle
01:13returning to northern Scotland later in the night.
01:16Now, in the countryside, once again, like last night,
01:19we could well see temperatures fall down into the single figures,
01:22perhaps seven or eight degrees in the most prone spots.
01:25But in the towns and cities, 13 to 16 degrees Celsius.
01:29So, not especially humid, though.
01:31A fairly comfortable night for sleeping.
01:33Tuesday is a fairly similar day to today,
01:36but I think overall it will be brighter than on Monday for northeastern parts of England,
01:40east angrily in the southeast.
01:41Some patchy cloud here, but generally a little bit warmer and sunnier.
01:45Northern Scotland, though, once again, a bit more in a way of thicker cloud here.
01:48So, some hill fog, perhaps,
01:50and certainly breezier for Shetland and Orkney.
01:52So, feeling a little bit disappointing here in that northwesterly wind.
01:56Temperature is no better than around 14 or 15 degrees Celsius.
01:59But elsewhere across the UK, generally a warm day,
02:03if not very warm across more southern parts of Britain.
02:0525 to 27 degrees in the warmest spots and lots of strong July sunshine.
02:11So, quite a settled period over the next few days,
02:14and that theme continues through the middle part of the week.
02:16So, plenty of sunshine, particularly in the south,
02:19and obviously with it still being July, the sunshine will be very strong.
02:22So, high or very high levels of UV expected.
02:25And temperatures will continue to climb, actually.
02:28So, the high 20s are possible,
02:30particularly in the southeast and more eastern parts of England,
02:33but widely temperatures remaining above average through the week ahead.
