09:59your challenge is to create an avant-garde look
10:03that is inspired by one of these young people's favorite Shopkins shoppies characters
10:10each one of these young people has a different favorite shoppy that they're very excited to tell you about
10:16you will use the shoppy and the young person's story to inspire your avant-garde look
10:21avant-garde is pushing passion forward and being as weird as you want to be
10:25so it is completely up my alley
10:28Kotomi and our friends at Shopkins have an exciting prize for this challenge
10:32Shopkins will create a one-of-a-kind shoppy inspired by the winning design

24:56and I feel like it represents me as a designer

26:04and it just makes me smile because she's carrying herself so well
26:08and it's just a beautiful combination
26:18my dress says beautiful, genuine, sincere, like right away
26:24so I think I achieved that part well

26:38this is my interpretation of avant-garde
26:40and even though it's simple
26:42it looks like my design character
26:55it is literally a dream
26:58she is sparkling, she is soft, she feels so glamorous
27:02it feels really great to be able to showcase this work as more of an art piece

27:14watching Misha walk down in basically a glittering disco ball is really exciting

28:20we just kind of put our ideas together
28:22we focused on fun
28:23and I just wanted to show that in the look
28:25I think it's a showstopper
28:28all of the looks are so colorful and great
28:31but this one you see how much time you put into it
28:34and I love the entire look
28:35I think it's done very well
28:37I mean especially in a day
28:39I absolutely love this look

29:10so I came up with the concept of a disco ball melting

29:22the volume and the exterior
29:23it just makes it a little more sci-fi
29:26I totally got this liquid melting quality
29:30and I love seeing this level of imagination from you

29:35and it captures the imagination
29:37and that's what fashion at the end of the day

29:56then I found this like double faced fabric
29:59and I knew that I wanted to place like this volume on the side
30:01of like kind of a cuff

30:03but it was a struggle
30:04I think it's really cool
30:06I immediately got the cuff roll up
30:08I think you have a really clear aesthetic
30:12it's very sophisticated

30:16everybody's cup of tea that sees this

31:34she liked most that there were little molded pieces
31:36that would snap on and off the garment
31:38so that there was a garment
31:40but then there were little cool things that went with it
31:43and that's kind of what I was going for
31:46I have to be honest
31:47I was not the biggest fan of this look today
31:49just because of the comparison to the other designers
31:53and the other looks that came down the runway
31:55I understand that you're very streamlined as a designer
31:59but I don't think that means that you cannot be an avant-garde designer
32:04it's really breaking the rules or breaking the norm
32:08and that's kind of what I wanted to see from you
32:11so this sadly is not my favorite look

32:21and she shares the same love for sparkles as I do
32:25I found this beaded fabric
32:28and I just wanted to organically come up with the silhouette

32:40you can feel emotion in it
32:42and that's because you draped it
